The car was fine. We had good service from John Froehm (spelling may be wrong) at the airport enterprise after we ended up at a rental location that wasnt' anywhere near where we wanted to be. We were thankful that there was another car that they were able to give us at the location that we wanted. John was very helpful.Cons:

There is a significant difference between local staff who is awesome and the forwarding service that you are sent to when they don't answer. If I'm running 30 minutes late and want to warn them. The rental service wanted to charge me $150. Luckily I made it in time, but a simple late fee would have been more reasonable.8.8 Very good

I have been renting cars through Hertz for over a decade. I rented through Kayak and for the first time, was not allowed to pick up the car that I had booked because I had only debit cards with me, no credit cards. It would have been better if the confirmation email had emphasized that a credit card was required; I have one, I just don't travel with it. I also did not appreciate the Hertz employee, who was significantly younger than I am, telling me that credit cards are mandatory on all rentals across the country; I've been renting cars for decades, I've never used a credit card for one, and I don't appreciate being mansplained with bad information. In the end my partner and I lost half a day in an unfamiliar city securing a new rental, and thanks to the ignorant condescension of the customer "service" representative, I won't be going back to Hertz.2.0 Poor
