car broke down waited 4 hours for roadside assistance in the higway had to pay 200 euros for roadside assistance insurance - car transmission broke that is more than a minor issue like a flat tire.

Extremely disappointed with the service. The car I got was WAY SMALLER than what me and my family needed, which almost forced us to completely change our plans as our luggage didn't fit in it. Yes, but the process is unnecessarily deceptive. The pricing seems favorable but than they hit you with exhorbidant insurance costs that exceed the actual rental cost. These costs are hidden until your at the counter. Lots of other add-on costs. VERY unpleasant process. I expected more from HERTZ.

Pick up was a bit chaotic, we had to wait a while for a car and then we got an upgrade which was nice, a brand new Volvo XC60 Hybrid but unfortunately the National / Enterprise rep failed to give me any advice how to operate the car and we had to keep getting out the car to ask him Qs. Further, we couldn't exit the car park initially as the car had not been set up for this it seems. On return of the car we had another problem as Enterprise emailed us a line of directions that when inputted into Google Maps (which was the car's navigation system) sent us to the wrong address initially and we almost missed our flight as a result. When we got to the right address the hand over and shuttle to the airport went very smoothly. The car was good and comfortable for our purposes, over 800km driving om highways in Spain

Pros:

When I bought this offer at Kayak it was after the credit card purchase where a special message appears saying extra fees may apply. Well you should better say your price will get increase over 500% due to extra fees. I ask for small economy car that's it. First catch, I was charge with full tank service. I thought ok it's nice. But when I returned the car they charge me for another managing fee. I paid over 120 full tank and when I returned the car with tank in 6/8 they refund only 30 euros. Most expensive gass ever! Then I paid for full insurance and because the car.was fully covered they.just don't care.about the car and gave me a car with bumps everywhere. Finally they took 300 euros from my credit card as deposit. In summary they own me 350 euros that I haven't received yet one week after service.

The car left me stranded in the middle of nowhere, had to have the car towed to somewhere and then returned the car the next day in a different city because it wasnt working the Alamo representative wouldn’t help me replace the vehicle with another one so I had to rent another car from a different rental company. Alamo put me in a dangerous situation giving me a car that didn’t function properly and didn’t do anything to resolve the issue.

The excess in the case of an accident was up to the whole value of the car! Usually on third party websites, it is around 2000-2500 euros. We had to pay 50 euros extra per day for the CDW. I should have known there is something hidden in the price shown on your website. Last time renting with you.

Pick up at Atocha station - Difficult to realize that the pick up is on the parking lot and not at proper Atocha Station - 3 ppl were at the counter but only one was attending customers (There is still a sign on the door that only one customer is allowed a time inside) - Information about refilling the car with petrol at time of return was first confusing. "The message was "our rate of Euro 1,20 is cheaper than at regular petrol stations". The detail that the charge would be the costs of a full tank instead of the actually used petrol was explained in detail when I asked the employee to repeat this information again - When I got to the car, I realized many scratches on the vehicle, especially on one side at the back. This was not adressed to me. I asked another employee who walked by if this is normal and that none had pointed this out? Hi responded "Didn't you sign the contract?" I should check there to see if this damages are noted down. I looked in my inbox but the electronic email had not arrived yet, therefor I went back to the counter to lign up behind another customer. When it was my turn, the employee looked for the the information and explained that there is a "code" of several numbers that protocol various damages on the car, so everything is ok but I should still take photos for documentation.... -- Return Barajas The service at the return at Barajas was professional, quick and the person received me with a big smile as well!

It doesn't specify the rental is inside the building behind the train station. Google Takes you across to some other streets. Very vague location. Also when you get inside there's no Dollar sign. Only after I called I realized it's inside the Hertz office. There you can see 2 tiny Dollar signs.

They will look at your car with magnifying glasses when returning the car. So report every dent and scratch no mater how small is it when picking the car. In my case thy charge me $90 for a missing radio antenna. I didn't even think cars even has one in modern times.

I rented car in spain,after explaining to customer service person that I would be doing quite a bit of driving she suggested an upgrade. I got a larger car that used diesel,a bit less expensive and better mileage.It worked out better for us,since 3 of us were traveling and all suitcases were able to fit in trunk.Happy with my rental.

Hi, I went to Madrid Airport to pick up my car with the price of 140 EUR and an insurance that I already paid for 55$. But when I went to the agent desk, he told me that the insurance is fake and that I have to pay almost 450 EUR for both car rent and insurance which was completely outrageous. In the end, I had to cancel my booking. Please fix this or terminate your contract with companies like Thrifty which will only bring a bad name to your reputation.

I have rented cars throughout many countries in the world and this has to be the absolute worse experience of the last 35 years. I had booked an SUV, but the SUV had a bad sensor so I could not take that vehicle. Instead, they gave me a small sedan (Corolla). When I asked for another SUV because that is what I paid for, they said that it was big enough and had no other SUVs available even though I saw several in the parking lot. They charged 50% fee of total rental for 1 day in France which was never disclosed when booking. The 50% of total rental did not include insurance or anything else so I was still responsible for any damage, so the extra fee was a complete money grab. What was I to do as it was too late to book a vehicle with another company in another country? The only positive was the fast return of the vehicle.

Have just flown home. The check out and in process was smooth but they did not look over the car when you take it or on return, they just advise you to take photos. Having just landed, I have received an email with a €750 charge for windscreen damage which was there when I took it (I have photos as advised). The location is outside thre airport. They don't rent to people with US driver license - and Kayak assigned that agency even if they knew which license we had... Lucky for us that my mother had an "acceptable" drivers license from another country... but they couldn't transfer the reservation nor check us in with her data. As a result, we got to cancel the previous reservation loosing halfo of the money and then re do the reserve with the agency on site... REALLY BAD SERVICE FROM KAYAK

Expedia did not allow me to pay for insurance during the booking process and informed me to pay $26 at OK Mobility's counter, but during the pick up they asked me to pay €50 instead. So I didn't pick up the car and I only wasted 3 hours negotiating and contacting Expedia with no help and therefore it was a horrible experience for me and my family.

Pros:

Front desk staff was good and helpful. Pickup and drop off staff was indifferent, almost rude.

Cons:

Prices are fake and rules for being late not visible anywhere. I ended up paying 4 times the original price because I got there 2 hours late and they claimed my reservation expired. No email related to the reservation mentioned anything about that. I was expecting some extra charges for the usual insurance things that these companies make you pay, but I paid more than that. I'd never rent a car using kayak or this specific company again.

Pros:

Probably my fault for not reading the fine print and booking a non refundable rental.

Cons:

I purchased insurance when I booked. When I got there they told me if I didn't purchase an additional 67 euro of insurance id need to leave a1400euro liability deposit as well as 144euro deposit for fuel which would be locked out of my account for 30 days. I don't have that kind of money and didn't want to create overdraft fees, and wasn't willing to spend the extra 67 as I was renting the car for less then a day. Long story short I realized it was better to cut my losses with the 30something euros I'd already spent and just walk away. I'd never be willing to let over 1500euro potentially provide liability for other ace customers for over a month for a days rental.

Hard to find the gold car/Rhodium office that represents Ace rental cars. There was no description of the rental office location in reservation. the agent told me that if i was going to portugal i needed to purchase additional insurance. this was not mentioned anywhere in the reservation.

When I got to the airport I asked for ACE and no one knew anything about it or where it was. So, I had to rent elsewhere. I am still not sure it even exists there! It is a terrible way to arrive in a country and find out my reservation was on another country ending doing a diffrent reservation with a diffrent company

They didnt tell me that the car company is "goldcar", no body know what or who is Ace company in airport. Ace company rent from another car companies cars- they never mantion that! And also they didnt tell me that i supposed to go to Gold car or something familear and they didnt answer me when i was calling. The car i ordered was talken by other customer and i paid 60 Earo extra!!! to rent another car i wasnt ask.

I HAVE NOT FINALLY RENTED MY CAR DESPITE THE CHARGE THE FULL AMOUNT. WHEN I SHOWED UP ON THE COUNTER (2 HOURS BEFORE IN ORDER TO DO THE PAPERWORK AND MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS FINE), THEY WANTED ME TO LEAVE 1.1000 EUROS AS DEPOSIT FOR 1 DAY RENTAL, OR PAY 70 EUROS FOR AN INSURANCE THAT I DID NOT WANT TO. AS A RESULT I DECIDED NOT TO RENT THE CAR AND WHEN I ASKED FOR A REIUMBURSEMENT OF THE RENTAL THAT I JUST RESERVED FEW HOURS AGO THEY TOLD THEIR POLICY IS NOT TO REFUND ANYTHING IF YOU CANCEL THE RESERVATION WITHIN 24 HOURS PRIOR OF YOUR RENTAL... VERY DISSAPOINTED AND WONT RECOMMEND THIS CAR RENTAL TO ANYONE. VERY BAD. I AM STILL THINKING IF SCALATE THIS ISSUE TO THE SPANISH CUSTOMER SERVICE IN ORDER TO GET MY REFUND OF THE RENTAL THAT I DID NOT ACCOMPLISH BUT I WAS CHARGED FOR.
