A
8.2 Very good
Pros:The front door is literally 50 feet from entrance to train station. Breakfast buffet is outstanding including Brit favorites like haggis.
Cons:Only complaint was poor WiFi reception in our room. Great in lobby.
A
7.4 Good
Pros:The staff -- front desk/manager -- was very helpful. Our room was uncomfortably hot, and although she was unable to move us the first night as there were no available rooms, she provided us with a fan and ice to help cool the room and a sheet to use rather than the duvet. The second night, she was able to move us to a much larger room on second floor which was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a good variety of choices. Since we traveled by train, the location of the hotel was very convenient.
Cons:We were in Inverness during a heat wave. The first night (of two nights) we were in a small room on the top floor. Since there was no air conditioning and no breeze, it was uncomfortably hot, preventing us from sleeping. Some of the furniture and the carpet in the larger room we stayed in the second night was a bit worn and could use a bit of updating
A
7.4 Good
Pros:Great location.
Cons:I was on the first floor and the noise from traffic outside on the main road was terrible, with the windows constantly shaking loudly. The windows aren't double-glazed and even passing drunks shouting and swearing sounded like they were in my room. Walls between rooms are also paper thin and the room shook every time the guest next door closed their room door. To be fair, my colleague was on the top floor and had a totally different experience, but unfortunately I won't be staying there again.
A
10.0 Wonderful
Pros:Proximity to the rail and bus stations, shops and places to visit. Helpful staff, clean and comfortable room.
Cons:Nothing really
A
8.2 Very good
Pros:We had a lovely stay. Our room was very pretty, comfortable and clean. The location cannot be beat.
Cons:The breakfast included was not very good. Also, pur booking includes complementary cocktails upon arrival but all we received was a buy one get one 50% off coupon. Not quite the same deal there.
A
8.2 Very good
Pros:Proximity to train station and city centre
Cons:Wifi weak, essentially unusable in the room. Good signal in lobby but inconvient to go there just for wifi.
A
5.7 Fair
Pros:Proximity to train station and highway, lots of good bars and restaurants around. Cool looking Victorian hotel.
Cons:Wi-fi was non-existent - which was bizarre given they had routers everywhere. Very unhelpful staff.
A
6.8 Okay
Cons:The shower did not have any hot water, and even though the website says parking is provided, in reality, the hotel has 4 spaces out front that are first come first serve, and the rest of the guests must pay for public parking.
S
7.4 Good
Pros:The entrance and common areas were beautiful, room was delightful, spacious and clean. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was perfect! Great location. Two blocks from everything important. Make sure you visit Hootinanny's a couple blocks away. They had amazing live music for tourists and locals alike.
Cons:The hotel is located practically at the train station. There was limited parking and constant traffic (vehicle and pedestrians).
