Staff was friendly. But pick up process a disaster. The company computer wouldn’t verify my billing address. I had to call my husband at home, find and take pictures of water bill, light bill , email them to company. It took a very long time to get car.8.4 Very good

The Hertz office in Lady Lake (The Villages) was a very bad experience. We had to wait for about 1 hr for the understaffed office to clean a car for a person in front of us and to clean our car. Knowing we were coming to pick up the car, it should have been ready! Further, the inside was nice and clean but the outside was very dirty. I paid for a carwash before I left FL. Also, the office was very soiled looking and tacky. The pick up experience was quite annoying.2.0 Poor

I called the day before and put a reservation in online. I had a family emergency in Alabama and needed to get there as soon as possible. I called before setting the reservation to see if they excepted debit cards they stated yes. The next day I spent 30 dollars on a taxi to get there. When I arrived, I had to wait for 30 more minutes to be told that my credit score was not high enough to rent a car from them. One hundred sixty dollars later, I rented from another company. I will never recommend them to anyone else who has an emergency.2.0 Poor

We arrived 12min after the stated time on the reservation and the doors were locked!Cons:
It would've been nice to know that the place closed at 12 and that even though the reservation said to pick up at 12, we should arrive by 11:30. Had to drive an extra hour and a half to get another rental that day and paid $150 more.Avis

Staff was very nice and made the rental process very easy. Drop off was a breeze.Cons:
The car smelled of smoke when we got it, which really stood out since we aren't smokers. Other than that, vehicle was very clean. We personally bought a Maguires odor bomb and set it off on the car and that got rid of the smoke smell. Overall very happy with the rental.Thrifty
