Makanda by The Sea Hotel is a boutique hotel located in Manuel Antonio, one of Costa Rica's most popular tourist destinations. The rooms of this hotel are carefully weaved in with the existing rainforest, creating an ambiance that is unmatched. Makanda is situated 300 feet above the ocean, giving occupants a spectacular view of the sea, especially during sunset.
While Makanda may feel as if it is located in a remote jungle, it offers guests all the amenities and comforts they would want from a luxury hotel. Visitors will find two infinity pools that overlook the ocean, an oversized jacuzzi, spa, an upscale restaurant and Makanda's own private beach. There are also multiple lounges and stylish open bars as well.

Just outside guests' windows, they will find amazing wildlife like toucans, sloths, monkeys, and more. The Honeymoon Suite is custom tailored for guests coming to celebrate their wedding while the Luxury Villa can accommodate up to six guests, contains two separate floors with an integrated smart home system, walk-in closets, two living rooms, an infinity pool and a balcony with a hammock.
While Makanda is just a short drive from some amazing Costa Rican restaurants, the on-site restaurant Arbol is one of the hotel's points of pride. The restaurant features interesting international fare but always done with an innovative twist. Everything on the menu is interpreted through the eyes of the extremely talented kitchen staff. Some of the signature dishes include sea bass with green barley risotto, grilled octopus with romesco sauce, pork belly with quinoa cream and Costa Rican-style fried fish.
