Pros:Being honest to the best of my ability, there was slim 2 nothing that I can say that I actually like about this over priced dump. However, I do feel silly in saying that I am so much of a closed minded individual that I could not manage to pull up at least one thing that I did infact like about the establishment out of my thought, so I will say that I enjiyed the fact that if nothing else the place stands true to it's name: The Rose Garden Inn because the do have a beautiful variety of rose bushes that appear to be well maintenanced, therefore displayin, (In my opinion), a lovely little rose garden in full bloom at the entrance of the establishment...A+
Cons:First & foremost, I got the impression immediately upon entering & not being greeted by either of the 2 absolutely un~occupied staff that they were not excited about the fabulous price that I had reserved the room for thriugh Kayak. Then, they asked if I'd prefer smoking or non~smoking & I replyed smoking because why? I smoke. At that point, (Of course, in some foreign language), employee #1 states a few word to employee #2 who is doing my check~in. Suddenly they have no availiable smoking rooms with only 1 bed. I let them know that I was fine with a non~smoking room & I promised I'd go outside to smoke. Next problem...Apparently my credit card was declined (ALLEDGEDLY), & seeing as to how I had spoken with customer care at the card company only moments before entering tbe establishment, I was quite surprised to hear that the card was declined. Before I could even ask if they would try once more to run my card, employee #2 was sending ALL of my paperwork including the reservation through the paper shredder & all but threw my card & CDL at me. I do not drive & had taken a taxi along w/my over night bags to the establishment from the transit center, so I went outside & immediatly called Customer Care at my Financial Institution. The agent advised me that everything was fine in thier computer & that there weren't any blocks, holds or anything else pending that may prevent the establishment from billing. I go back in & ask if they can try once more. Employee #1, whom appears highly aggitated with my request informs me that my reservstion had been cancelled because my card was a "BAD" card. He still however, agrees to try to run my card ONLY once more & if my card is still no good I must leave the front of the establishment w/my luggage. Of course, still my card was declined. At this point, its a very hot day, I've been traveling, I'm tired, not to mention I'm starting to get pissed so I ask how much would the room be if I were to pay with cash. Employee #1 states (ver batim), "It will be much, much more." All I want to know is HOW MUCH? He blurts out some number that sounded fairly random & in total was nearly $30 more than the Kayak price. Seeing as to how I hadn't expected this, I had no cash & had to walk (with my luggage) in un~familiar surroundings n search of an ATM, at which I used the same credit card that had been declined to pull out money. Upon my return, employee #1 is not anywhere in sight & employee # 2 isacting oblivious to the fact that I would be back to get the room & pay with cash. She finally agrees to rent me the room but gives me a price $13 more than employee # 1 had quoted me. As she hands me the key she states to me that the room is a SMOKING room because that is all they have left...I THOUGHT THAT THEY HAD NO SMOKING ROOMS AVAILIABLE when I first arrived & started this check in process, (which btw, is now nearly an hour later)....What a headache!! Glad to finally be headed into my room...OR AM I??!!!!! Absolutely rediculous.
