Wonderful staff at reception and in dining room. Everything was excellent, although the standard room was very tight for space. I would book a larger room in future
More space needed in the standard double room
The location was very central. Helpful staff
Didn’t feel like it was value for money
Beautifully cooked breakfast, fresh ingredients, I had smoked haddock and poached egg, it was perfect, the staff were excellent, loads of choice, the dinner service was good and all good value. Can't fault the staff at this hotel, only 2 little niggles the disabled parking I requested was not available when I arrived, but my luggage was carried in for me and out again at the end of my stay, and as was hot felt like mattress cover may have been made of a plastic, not sure but a bit sweaty, but overall I would not hesitate to stay in a balcony room again, really enjoyed looking out over the lovely little town!! Like stepping back in time, don't change Ambleside salutation you are great as you are!!;
Loved the fact it had a pool and hot tub.. perfect way to round off a day walking, and also to start the day before breakfast. Good breakfast with lots of choice.
Twin room a little on the small side but still very clean with all that you need.
The evening meal was exceptional as was the breakfast. Rothay room was brilliant, with the view over the town of Ambelside. It was my girlfriends birthday, and the balcony made it for her !! Everything about the Salutation Hotel oozed quality . We shall definitely be staying with you again.
We used the swimming pool, with the outdoor jacuzzi. Could not understand the reason for the two golden camels in there .
