Pros: The location was the main thing. Staff were nice and accommodating. The front desk staff was a bit distracted upon arrival but Housekeeping staff was exceptionally helpful and accommodating!
Cons: Flood lights from outside aimed directly into our room. Lights remained on all night. There were no drapes or anything from inside to use to block the light. It was cold during our stay so we needed to sleep under the blanket provided.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The wine and snacks!
Cons: The Television was too small, no sitting area to watch TV- bathroom way too small. Heat and A/C etc. was difficult to get a comfortable zone- large gap in door.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location for walking tour and enjoying downtown
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They take large pets for a reasonable rate. They are very pet friendly.
Cons: Breakfast was served a little late for us.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Just about everything I was lousy. The room was dirty the Linens and blankets were disgusting. The bed was very uncomfortable. The sheet was almost non-existent. It was very cold in there that night and no way to turn up the heat. Terrible
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was fine
Cons: Breakfast was cheaply done
5.0 Okay
Pros: Great location. Able to walk to everything in town. Loved the historical house and the history of the town.
Cons: There was a used washcloth hanging on the faucet in the shower. Room wasn't as clean as I had hoped. You cannot control individual room temperature. Consequently it was too hot and had to open the outside door to cool off. Not a big deal in the daytime but it isn't something I want to do while trying to get some sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms with pale yellow walls and white crown molding and trim were reminiscent of the old south. A dining room instead of an eating area. Dark wood in the entry. Very cool.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We had to cut our stay from 6 to 2 nights due to COVID-19. We were not able to be served breakfast or any other amenities due to this. Not their fault and staff was very nice explaining this (although not until we got up and went to dining room expecting it). Definitely would consider another stay if/when we plan another vacation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s location and the quaintness!
7.0 Good
Pros: They no longer offer breakfast. Very disappointed.
Cons: They no longer any of the amenities that a bed and breakfast normally offer
1.0 Poor
Pros: This property is very close to downtown. That is absolutely the only nice thing about it. I am so put out by my experience at this place, I do not want to waste anymore of my life thinking about it or writing about it.
Cons: Unclean, poorly furnished, no amenities to include toilet paper. Uncomfortable, loud, no cold water in shower, no lighting in room, no batteries in flash light, warped and slanting foundation, no counter space in bathroom or room, no where to sit in room, no where to put suitcases or clothing, inadequate air conditioning, inadequate parking, inadequate/condescending/ignorant/dismissive staff. Let me be honest. A place that doesn’t even bother to have a scooper in the ice maker and then tells you to just use whatever, is not the place to stay during a pandemic. Like, “what do you want me to do!” This place is a hazard to your health, your day and your dignity as a human being. Stay somewhere else or stay home!

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Gibson Inn, you'll be centrally located in Apalachicola, just a 3-minute walk from John Gorrie State Museum and 10 minutes by foot from Orman House Historic State Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a beautiful historic property in a lovely old Florida location. A truly special place with a great restaurant and bar. The breakfast is terrific as well.
6.0 Good
Pros: The building is a very pretty old house, nice deck, well decorated. Staff was nice and friendly.
Cons: Walls are too thin and any little noise from the hall or the neighbour rooms can be heard. Bathroom was small and needed some "lifting", joints in particular. Hait dryer's plug wouldn't stop falling because of the wall plug was so old, it didn't hold. The old "house charm" has its limits.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Funky and old, and bar in particular was great. Also wonderful front and side porch with chairs, swings, etc.
Cons: Had to climb 3 flights of stairs while having bad hip.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was WONDERFUL, friendly, and very helpful- from the the housekeeping staff, front desk ( !!!) , to the bartender. I loved the central location as well as the atmosphere of an old Floridian inn.
Cons: The breakfast was just average. The bread items were a bit dry and , as crazy as this seems, the juice pitchers were much too large. They was overly heavy and bulky to handle. Also, on our last night ( around 8:00 pm) we had an awkward and disturbing event occur with the people beneath us on the 2nd floor. We were packing up for departure the following morning and simply moving about the room gathering our things. Of course the floors creak! The room beneath us began banging on object on their ceiling ( our floor) several times and then yelled up through the floorboards to "Knock it off up there!" I would think guests would ( and should) be more respectful and courteous while staying at The Gibson. First time this has ever happened to us!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Interesting hotel from the 1900s that is being nicely refurbished; we had to deal directly with the hotel to make sure we had a refurbished room. Good location on the edge of the downtown. Fine dining in the evening (if a little expensive); good choice on offer for breakfast, which was included in the rate.
Cons: Although the restaurant is located in the hotel, it seems to be operating separately to the hotel, with separate billing. We thought that the bar closed early; we weren't able to get served with tea at 9:55pm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this charming old hotel. Everything was perfect and all the staff were wonderful. We were sorry to have to cut our trip short but will hopefully come back again as soon as we can.
Cons: Nothing
5.0 Okay
Pros: It’s a nice old property… I like the antique furnishings and the porches
Cons: Between booking.com and the Gibson Inn neither would budge when their prices plummeted the day I checked in. Gibson and would not even upgrade me to a better room without wanting to charge me extra 3/20-3/23/20

Cons: Other than not serving dinner at the restaurant, nothing!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy access to town. Clean room and property. A/C and Heater smelled clean when on and circulating air Staff was friendly and helpful
5.0 Okay
Pros: It was a very busy weekend for St George Island and Apalachicola as it was the SGI Chili Cookoff weekend. Everything was booking or booked up. This Inn was cheaper by the room than on the beach where it was almost $100 more for a room if it could be found.
Cons: The location was a bit out of town...not at all close to the events happening. The wifi didn't connect and the TV had very limited channels. The Hill & Brooks coffee in the room is not my favorite so that was passed up.
