4.7 Okay
Pros: The location is fine close to the centre of the charming village of Azay le Rideau. There are some excellent restaurantes to eat at within a short walk and beautiful scenery along the Loire valley a half hour cycle ride away. Hotel staff were friendly and met all our requests promptly. free wi fi a bonus.
Cons: The rooms are rather small ( though clean ) and we had to ask for facilities to make a hot drink. Rooms at the front of the hotel are pleasant with the balcony but are subject to traffic noise from before 7 am (particularly those irritating mopeds) a problem made worse by the location of the hotel on the main road out of town. Breakfast is 11 euros per person - perhaps to discourage.

Cons: It was not so big hotel so there was no elevator. It was hard to bring up heavy luggage to second floor.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The location was excellent. It was within walking distance of the chateau and there were plenty of places to eat dinner.
Cons: Room had an odor, walls paper thin and we could clearly hear the people in the next room and across the hall. Bed very short.

Cons: Aircon not working for some time in my opinion

Pros: Breakfast was very good, nice choice of fruits and cereals as well as meats and cheeses and breads etc. Room and bathroom were very nice and comfortable for our 3 night stay. Management and staff very welcoming and spoke excellent English. Dinner was also good at a reasonable price. There is a large private car park across the small street for a small fee, which I can imagine is very useful in the tourist season. The village is nice to walk around with friendly bars and restaurants and you got to try the baguette machine around the corner. A special thankyou to the lady at the post office who spoke excellent English for helping us with our Christmas present mailing to friends in Germany !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has been renovated from an old horse changing station, where travelers would have changed horses or spent the night. We like that you can still imagine that past within the hotel; it isn't hidden and it adds charm and character. Everything was clean, the rooms seem to be named after Loire chateaux (we were in the Amboise room, which was beautiful), the staff were absolutely wonderful and very attentive. We had the breakfast buffet, which we thought was very good: ham, choice of cheeses, yogurt, fruit (fresh and dried), croissants and baguette as well as assorted pastries, hard boiled eggs, toast, coffee with warmed milk, juice...all plentiful and delicious. We would happily stay here again; it is a good base for exploring the area with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Plus it is literally a 5 minute walk to the Azay-le-Rideau chateau, which is not to be missed. We felt welcomed and very comfortable here. Recommended!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Shame it has been renovated. We preferred it before! Also restaurant is too fancy and a very characterless room.

Pros: This is a delightful hotel in the centre of one of the prettiest small towns in France. Close to both the Chateau of Azay le Rideau and the town centre which has many restaurants and cafes. Service, staff, welcome and assistance all first class. They speak good English (I am an experienced French speaker)
Cons: Azay is full of one way streets and no-entry signs. To reach the hotel by car it is necessary to ignore the No Entry signs, which I suspect are only there to deter day visitors. There are several car parks near the hotel.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is a gem of a place. Great restaurant! Original food presentations of high quality, presentation, originality and taste. Bravo chef! Delightful comfortable and very stylish bedroom and shower room. It all works. Set in the apple and pear orchards! Absolute peace! Great people! The head waitress even bagged up our uneaten croisssnts etc from breakfest for our journey to Calais!
Cons: I thought the wine list too expansive and too expensive for this level of restaurant. Could ‘t see sny easy half bottles. So we chose to match the surprise gourmand menu with the wine match but didn’t like all the wines. I think it would be better to specify the menu as the alternative was a la carte.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ground floor room with terrace.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stay AND dine (divinely...that Michelin star is well deserved)...what could be better? The accommodations, breakfast and dinner are stellar. The property was so kind to allow rental bikes to be delivered since the bike shop was going to be closed the days we wanted to bike to Villandry and Chateau D'Azay-le-Rideau. The auberge is positioned perfectly for a one-day velo excursion to both chateaus, and the bike trail is well-marked. It's a highly recommended property.

Pros: Our family room truly was fit for a family - included 2 ensuite bathrooms! The hotel is a stone's throw to Chateau de Villandry which has spectacular gardens!
Cons: It was quite hot when we arrived. We couldn't really keep the windows open since they faced the street so the fans couldn't really circulate air well. We also had lots of tiny flying bugs around our pillows at night (attracted to our lights).

Pros: The situation so near to the Château and the Gardens. Villandry was so different when all the tourists had gone home. The ease of free parking. A very comfortable room.

Pros: We really enjoyed our time in this wonderful and charming troglo appartment. Everything was nicely designed and very romantic. The small kitchen was great and really useful. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom excellent. Every appartment has a little terrace and garden with a nice view. The owners are wonderful and welcomed us with great hospitality, explained a lot about the place and made us feel very much at home. We wished we would have had more time.
Cons: Nothing, all perfect.
