Hotel Touristik - Neuenburg am Rhein - Bathroom
3
9.0 Excellent (512 reviews)
C$ 90+
Overview Reviews
The family-run Hotel Touristik is located 1 km from the River Rhine in Neuenburg, close to the Swiss and French borders. Just 600 metres from the A5 motorway, it offers free WiFi in all areas and free parking with video surveillance. The air-conditioned, non-smoking rooms at Hotel Touristik Neuenburg include a flat-screen TV, seating area, a desk and tea/coffee facilities. The modern bathroom comes with a shower and hairdryer. A rich buffet is served every morning in the breakfast room, and a number of restaurants can be found within a 5-minute walk away. At the hotel, guests can also enjoy a selection of wines from the surrounding region.
6.3 Good
Pros: Very clean. Comfortable bed. Private Parking. good breakfast. Very nice place for a night, if you have extra money.
Cons: We stay in a Touristik hotel for the fourth time. This time, as usual, booked a room through booking. 100% of the price was charged a day before arrival. I calculated the funds for the trip to be enough for fuel and roads. I hit the road with the confidence that I booked accommodation for the night. Late in the evening, when I was on the autobahn on the way to the hotel, they called me from the hotel and informed me that they could not withdraw money from my card due to insufficient money. It turns out that the day before, they only reserved 100% of the price as collateral. And now to save the reservation they need another 100% of the price even before I check in! This is just outrageous! Later in the mail I found a letter that arrived when I was on the way where they wrote that if I do not provide another card with enough funds within 2 hours, they will cancel the reservation. That is, if they had not reached me, then after ten in the evening I would have stayed overnight on the street. This is the first time I've come across this. If you plan to stay at this place, you should have twice as much money on the card as the stated price. And be prepared that during the trip your money in the amount of the deposit will not be available to you.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, very helpful staff and great location.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location for travelers near the autobahn but close to center, very positive staff, clear and well equipped rooms, highly appreciate guide book with useful information. Parking for cars, good breakfast.
Cons: can't even imagine what can be improved - all is organized on a top level of service and comfort!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Claimed to be the only hotel in the town equipped with Air-co, which is definitely worth the value for this summer. Friendly stuff, in a clean and safe town. It is pretty simple, but enough for a stop over for one night. Very close to the highway.
Cons: It is very basic. Both the air-co and wifi work with really low power. Maybe I was unlucky to be in a corner room of the hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good clean room and a lovely host

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly staff, spoke good English. Great restaurant. Big rooms for a single.
Cons: Not their fault, but it was very hot during my visit. As they don't have air conditioning it wouldn't break the bank to invest in a fan for each room to make it more comfortable for the guests. Small investment, big win.
9.6 Excellent

We had brilliantly cooked and presented fresh river trout as it was the Friday special with a salad bar with an immense selection of choices. Great wine list by the glass. Spacious rooms, comfy beds, strong showers. And the Thermal Spa is just a few minutes walk away,
10.0 Excellent

Pros: great location, and nice people working on the reception and on the kitchen, clean rooms and kitchen, the sauna was also very clean.
Cons: all TV channels are in German, no French or english channels, the sauna was open but nobody was there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Well appointed room with a very useable kitchenette. Good location and very pleasant staff.
Cons: Like a number of the older wifi' we have come across, the new generation iPhones and androids firewall them meaning that you can't login
7.1 Good
Pros: I enjoyed the spaciousness of the apartment.
Cons: I didn't like the fact that the hotel charged extra for the sauna. The pool was open in the fall but not heated, so useless. No elevator. Only two Nespresso capsules for room coffee for a 5 day stay,
7.5 Good
Pros: Actually, the hotel was fine. However, the booking was a nightmare! I had to pay for two rooms, and it is all because I used Booking.com
Cons: Booking.com
7.9 Good
Pros: the bed was good and the shower powerful
Cons: The person before smoked in the room!!!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were cheerful and helpful always. We were given one more bedroom than expected. Also more space overall in apartment then expected. Enjoyed having a balcony. Loved the using outdoor pool and surrounding garden area. Location was great for us - train station, town itself and its facilities - ie. thermal baths and electric bike hire, obstacle golf etc. The konus card for free travel on local buses and trains was really useful (especially as we had come by train from UK).
Cons: Could not find a reasonably priced tennis court to play on. We had brought racquets and balls. I think I had seen tennis courts advertised on-line.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Hotel with a warmely welcome! I recommend you to book your future room in that hotel. Everything was perfect.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were really big and spacious, clean and a balcony. The beds were large and comfortable and a good breakfast
Cons: No bar, so you could not have a drink after a long day travelling
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was a suite and with a balcony and a large, new bathroom. The rooms were very clean and quiet. The breakfast was amazing with so much choice. Herr Kaiser was kind enough to send on some medication as my husband had left his overnight bag there when we moved on! On our return for the bag he would not take any payment for the postage or his trouble. Very kind. The Spa in the town was such a treat and not too expensive with the Konus card we were given.
Cons: Nothing!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The single room was spacious, comfortable and clean with a nice terrace. Bathroom functional and clean. Owners and staff friendly and attentive, good breakfast and food in the restaurant.
Cons: A small table on the terrace would fit perfectly together with the comfy seat.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very confortable and clean room equipped with light, plugs for charging, nice bedding. Clean and great bathroom. Delicious breakfast! Not to forget a great internet access in the room!
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: As an apartment it was fine. HOWEVER I BOOKED EXPECTING A HOTEL ROOM.
Cons: This is not a fair way to advertise. We were actually accomodated in the Ferienhaus Rheintalblick, not the hotel Schwannen. It's about a mile away from the hotel. There are no on site facilities, little in room info so after you've been given your key by the key holder YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. No breakfast (even as an extra,) no bar and looks NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES. All very jolly on a snowy night after 12 hours travel. And the absolute kicker? Google Maps doesn't have an accurate map of this one pony town.
6.3 Good
Pros: When we were able to speak you staff member they were helpful (a shame reception was closed when we arrived at 16.30 however). Breakfast was good.
Cons: No-one at reception to greet us on arrival at 16.30. Size of family room we were given was quite a it smaller than images on website. We thought children would have beds, but we’re provided a small sofa bed to share. When we booked, restaurant was advertised as open Mondays evenings but when we arrived, sign on door said closed Mondays and Tuesdays for November/December.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location is great and easy to find. Private parking space. Too bad the restaurant is closed on the Tuesday but the owner told us where we could have a nice dinner. Very nice room, clean and with good working airco. The breakfast was generous with good coffee.
Cons: We had a family room and the bed made out of the couch was very hard to sleep on. If we would come back the next time real beds for the kids would have our preference
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The view from our room was spectacular. You could see the whole valley and the mountains in the distance. The room was very spacious as well with a full kitchen.
Cons: Our room was up the hill in the apartments which was a little bit of a hike on foot. No big deal if you are driving though
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: It was an apartment pretty large
Cons: Nothing around it, we reserve the apartment room, its writed annex but it’s too far from the hotel, they didn’t tell us that was totally in another location, no breakfast for 110 per night. We wait 15 minutes out of the door because on Tuesday they said the restaurant is close, but we reserve a hotel room and it was 9:45 pm. 1 soap for 2 persons. Smell trash bag in the corridor. I will not come back.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The hotel is a nice and old fashioned building, parking place right outside and the room was ok.
Cons: We arrived at 8.45 PM and we asked for dinner but we received a refusal because the kitchen was going to close at 9.00. The receptionist did not even check if there was a possibility for eating there (something simpel) and the indications about another restaurant were confused and generic. We did not feel welcome at all. Surprisingly, after returning from the restaurant there were still guests at the dining table drinking coffee and chatting with the cook...
7.1 Good
Pros: Silent place and cosy room.
Cons: Restaurant closed without any notice ( weekly closure) Breakfast: very good, though limited choice
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very helpful providing us a baby monitor and suggestions about nice towns to visit. The room was clean and spacious and the food in the restaurant was lovely and had a good amount of vegetarian options. The breakfast buffet had everything you would like.
Cons: The bed was comfortable but a little squeaky when you got in and out. The croissants were also not replaced after we got there one morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice Hotel. Clean, nice staf, near highway 5. We stayed 1 night on our way to Italy.

Pros: Friendly staff. Plus the beer garden where we enjoyed a lovely meal.
Cons: I wouldn’t mind some vegetarian options on the menu.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Food (!), terrace, staff, parking
Cons: The wifi capacity is not good. When there a many people the wifi does not work. The annexxe building need some paint work, it is all getting a bit worn out. Here en there dust
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ideal location en route to Italy-2 minutes off the motorway yet in the heart of a nice town. Easy private parking. We have stopped off here many times and are always pleased that excellent standards throughout are maintained.
Cons: everything o.k.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We appreciate everything, no negatives. Not always we made so lucky choice. Pefect rooms, beed, cleanliness, personal and offer. Not luxury, but one of best value price vs comfort and pleasant stay. If anywhere we will be close, we will definitelly come again. Thank you Petr Ňuksa
Cons: We appreciate everything, no negatives. Not always we made so lucky choice. Pefect rooms, beed, cleanliness, personal and offer. Not luxury, but one of best value price vs comfort and pleasant stay. If anywhere we will be close, we will definitelly come again. Thank you Petr Ňuksa
5.8 Okay
Pros: Food was excellent
Cons: Staff were not welcoming. Didn’t even try to engage with us. Certainly not what we would expect from good German hospitality. We spoke in German but received little acknowledgement for even trying!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Welcomed on arrival by manager, who recognised us as repeat visitors, and spoke English from the outset. He later asked the English-speaking waitress to attend to us. Little things which make life easier when one is travelling abroad. The rooms are spacious and well- equipped; the hotel garden, where one can also take an evening meal, is very pleasant-- we never feel the desire to walk off the premises. Car parking is adequate and convenient. The motorway is within a couple of minutes drive. All in all an excellent overnight stop between the Belgian/French coast and Italy.
Cons: The breakfast room seems to attract the odd fly or two. I feel that more care could be taken to protect the food.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Reasonably priced rooms, with basic facilities. Easy and free parking.
Cons: Hotelroom was OK-ish. Internet dit not work in the room, only when you went outside in the corridors to the rooms. The hotel’s restaurant service was terrible. A very uninterested waiter. Halfway through our meal they started dimming lights in the closeby unused areas of the restaurant, removing flowers from our table, cleaning tables and when we asked for a coffee after the meal at 20:10 hours that was denied because the kitchen was already closed. So this was clearly the last time we stayed at this place.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location for a stopover on the way to Italy, very charmingly traditionally German.
Cons: There was no AC in the room and it was very hot. Also, the highway is very near so sleeping with the window open in the hot room meant it was fairly loud. In many other contexts though obviously it's great that the highway is so close.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, had a great dinner at the restaurant & also liked the variety and quality of the breakfast buffet, storage for bikes

8.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a family room, which was in fact an apartment with its own kitchen 2 toilets and shower room. Plenty of space and very clean. Breakfast was also good, plenty of choice with breads, meat, and fruit.
Cons: Very poor wifi it was either very slow or you was unable to connect. In fact the whole area was an internet black hole, with very poor signal.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The swimming pool is bigger than it looks on the pictures and is really nice. Decent breakfast, just the canned fruit salad and quality of juice was a bit disappointing.
Cons: Continuous investment can be seen, but some parts feel quite tired and in need of updating. The kitchen in our apartment was from the 1960s or 1970s for example, but useful to have a regular size fridge.
7.5 Good
Pros: The breakfast is very good. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice swimmingpool with garden and lounge chairs, well maintained with pretty flowers. It’s simple, a bit dated, but nice.

Pros: Clean functional, supermarket down the road

7.5 Good
Pros: good value for money
Cons: There is no restaurant, despite what is on the website.
7.1 Good
Pros: When we arrived we thought that the hotel had closed down! From outside it has an air of neglect and abandonment. The door was locked and there were various notes, numbers to ring etc displayed outside - eventually we made contact and acquired a key from the keysafe on the outside wall - not a good start so we were surprised to find the building warm inside and a clean and spacious room. Maybe 1970's décor and desperately in need of refurbishment but everything functioned as it should, the bed was large and comfortable, all generally clean and serviceable for an overnight stay. We had seen poor reviews of the breakfast but we found it perfectly adequate given the price. Parking immediately outside the front door and being on a side street left us with no concerns for our motorcycle. Checking out was a lot easier than checking in as the reception was manned in the morning. Overall, despite appearances, OK and not bad value for money.
Cons: Has the air of an establishment struggling to survive, which is a shame because it was probably once a thriving hotel. Access arrangements (as described) were not very welcoming at all. The bathroom in particular could do with a refit - no amount of cleaning can disguise the smell of an old toilet! No restaurant at the hotel and none in the immediate vicinity looked open, or particularly inviting, but we did eventually find a very nice place at the winery back down on the main road. I'm afraid that if we were passing that way again we would be looking elsewhere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiete position, with spacious room with good quality/price ratio.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I stayed for one night only as I was passing by, so can't judge of much, but the place is nice and clean, staff is friendly and smiling. The building does not look old or run down to me (as some previous reviews say). I arrived fairly late but had no problem checking in.
6.7 Good
Pros: the price/ quality is OK
Cons: the curtains were to small and very light

5.4 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: A disaster from the beginning. - I received a call prior to my arrival that the lady at the reception had to run an errand, and was asked when I would check in. That was @ 4:55 pm. Check in was supposed to be til 6pm. Upon my arrival none of my CC‘s was accepted by their wireless payment terminal. No connection possible. I drove to an ATM and paid cash. Then I was told, I was the only guest at the hotel, if I would want breakfast in the AM. Yes, I did. i received a portable tray with my breakfast on it. A cold boiled egg, and a Thermos filled with coffee which of course was already cold at 11 pm...not to mention the next morning. The room, which was actually an apartment with an outside door looked nice, however furniture cheap. The bathroom had big dirt spots on the tiles, the door, brown waterspots in the shower. I took pictures as I was in disbelieve. As I was ready to leave, the door to my room wouldnt lock. It was pitchdark inside the hotel, I knocked on the door several times, just inside the kitchen was light. And of course I did not want to leave my belongings inside, even though the door had a latch that would keep it closed from the outside, just not being able to turn the key and lock my room. Finally, I saw the same girl in the kitchen smoking and e cigarette, ( so much for running an errand) as I was knocking at the door, I stumbled across a man, ( mind you it was pitchdark) who told me he was the actual owner and handed me a key for the next room. As I carried my stuff -including my breakfast tray,....from one room to the other, I recognized the room was ice cold. The man gone!!!! I looked everywhere, just to see if I was able to find a thermostat somewhere. Nothing. Since we had an event the next morning, I ran back to the Townhall to help my colleagues, since with all going on, I was already late getting back. Long story, my app on my cellphone showed it was 6 degrees celsius in that room when I got back.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very friendly new owner who will need a little time to raise the standard of this hotel. Be patient - i'm sure it will happen. There is now an Italian restaurant at the hotel - this runs as a separate business but is good and inexpensive which is great if you want to balance it against the expensive Spa Resort hotel restaurants in the village.
Cons: Breakfast buffet is a little basic and needs some attention. The hotel currently is quite basic but is value for money and is perfectly adequate for a short stay. It is not luxurious like some of the main resort hotels/rental apartments.
7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely staff
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Noise from yard.
