Great location: 5 minutes walk to the BTS,10 minutes to large malls and shopping centres. Receptionist was great and helped us with booking an early taxi to the airport. Our private room had great views and was clean. The common area is a good place to hangout.
The noise: I woke up a few times my first night from the loud exhaust sound of bikes on the streets below. Wasn't an issue the following nights.
A bit simple, if it can provide some thai style breakfst, it will be better
more food choice and more activities organized by the hostel that people there can all join during the evening
the Interior design is very Thai style.
The hostel location is great. It is close to many tourist attractions. You can take BTS skytrain easily to travel other places, when they are not located in a walking distance. If anyone wishes to come from the airport rail link from suwannabhoomi, then exit from Phaya thai station and take the BTS sky train to national stadium. it is 3 min walk from there to the hostel. (But if you have luggages, then taxi from airport will be better, because after a certain level, you would have to climb down from staircases carrying luggages, which is very difficult) The hostel is in the 8th floor of the siam@siam building. Although it is located in a busy environment, inside the hostel is very quite. The interior design of the lobby area is very classic. Staff provide instructions to get rid of your problems as a tourist and the gentleman who seemed to be a European was very helpful and friendly. I reserved a room with a separate bathroom. The interior design of the room was pleasant and nice. very clean. The main doors are closed from midnight to 6 am, but you are given options to enter the hostel. For those who have to leave the hostel before 6am, you have to open the doors of corridors and the main door by your self by a long press on the 'exit' button placed on the wall to your left. push the door while pressing the button otherwise you cannot open the door. Just a press would not work. (I had to struggle hard to open the doors, though, in the previous day, I was verbally instructed to press the exit button on the wall).
The system of Door locks! This would affect tourists who must check out before 6am. When the hostel doors in the corridors and the main door are closed from midnight to 6am, none of the staff members are available in the reception or outside the main door of the hostel for any assistance in any emergency. I believe that it would be much better to keep a person for assistance during the 'door closed' hours, because the door closing system is an electronic system and electronic devises can go wrong anytime. So if a guest need to check out before 6.00 am to catch the flight and if the doors are not opened with no one to help, then the guest would have to face a lot of troubles. So my suggestion is that there must be a person to assist in cases of such emergencies, as some guests would have to check out before 6.00 am. So if the electronic system does not work, then there should be someone to assist them.
The location is perfect
Not many choices of breakfast
