10.0 Excellent
Pros: First and foremost: the kindness of the staff and people. Delicious food, fresh from the sea, every evening! Where else do you get fresh oysters for breakfast? We felt extremely welcome by everyone at the hotel.
Cons: Nothing! Everything was perfect!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Food was excellent. Location superb
Cons: there was no place to get a small snack or light lunch without paying for a full-out meal (45 Euros)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Oysters for breakfast!
Cons: The massage at the spa was not the best...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view from our room was absolutely stunning. The entire hotel grounds are beautiful. The outdoor pool is wonderfully warm and so salty it must be a little like the Dead Sea. Lovely! Food very good - especially breakfast.
Cons: The dining room staff and breakfast room were not as professional as we've enjoyed at other R&C hotels. When the supervisor returned it was perfect! Perhaps it had to do with the crazy busy summer season having just ended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is fabulous, the room was great well beyond my expectations, the personnel efficient and attentive and the restaurants refined with amazing desserts. A truly great experience.
Cons: I advise to go for the electrical bikes not the normal ones.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building, gorgeous rooms - in room big bath was amazing - super huge comfy bed, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent roof top swimming pool and gardens. Lovely views of garden from our room and the sea from the windows around the hotel.
Cons: There could have been some little extra touches to really justify paying such a sum for a room at the hotel: - such as an iron in the bedroom - instead we were told to go to the hotel’s second floor under the stairs to locate an iron and ironing board - this was missing when we searched for it. - not being charged the earth to have a few sports clothes and pants laundered: €50!!!
7.9 Good
Pros: It’s in a citadel! The location and views are great.
Cons: For a €20 breakfast, the staff can be a tiny bit more attentive and less snobby. Also, if you’re there closer to the end, not all the food options are restocked. There is no WiFi in any of the rooms. And the WiFi in the lobby isn’t very good.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The lovely Fort grounds and vicinity to the town and beautiful coastal walks
Cons: Ordered gluten free breakfast - the hotel purchased G/F bread but would only toast it in the dining room toaster that would contaminate my G/F bread. I have coeliac disease so medically could not have this. Ended up not having breakfast the whole week.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was great Don’t miss the Governor restaurant it is a great gastronomic table Staff is very friendly
Cons: No bellboy for luggages, booking doesn’t indicate there is a free shuttle from the harbor to the hotel. Pool was dirty, some spa amenities were not in operation during high season unacceptable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view from the bedroom window, the historic surroundings, a wonderful meal in the restaurant. A very generous breakfast.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The building is fantastic (views, living rooms, pool on the roof) the situation and architecture are absolutely unique. We enjoyed a beautiful view on the sea and a really quiet atmosphere during our stay. The breakfast was good with a diverse choice and really fresh croissants ans pains au chocolat. The beautiful garden was sheltered by the surrounding buildings which made diner at the restaurant very pleasant.
Cons: The staff welcoming us at our arrival wasn't very friendly: the woman spilled out many informations in no time and took us to our room in a military mode. Some of the furniture in the bedroom were having cracks and a lamp was a bit broken: a shame for such an exceptional location.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very nice of the hotel to upgrade us and the staff were most helpful throughout. The restaurant was excellent as was breakfast. A lovely place to stay.
Cons: no
7.6 Good
Pros: This hotel is a fantastic old fortress with historical rooms. They could make a wonderful James Bond movie here with all the passages and incredible views of the harbor. We stayed here for our anniversary and it was well worth the price. There was a free tour of the Citadel as well
Cons: no
7.6 Good
Pros: Everything was perfect - the room, the view, the service. But most of all we liked the restaurant - everything very delicious, and the staff was excelent!
7.6 Good
Pros: The setting, rooms, restaurant
