Pros: The professionalism of staff, other than the cleaning ladies... the lounge manager and her team running the lounge area near the window seating who really looked after us with a delicious club sandwich, on arrival as we chatted to other guests as we waited for our room : the front desk team and concierge (v impressive awards and medals!) including David, our limosine driver who immaculately picked us up and welcomed us to our new life in Switzerland. This was excellent unpretentious and respectable service, throughout . Totally enjoyed our stay.
Cons: Dining options were limited, it being a Sunday but room service and lounge service more than made up for this. Food was excellent. Unfortunately, when we were taken to our room (I was on crutches, too) it wasn't ready. It was very embarrassing for the front desk colleague who accompanied us. The housekeeping ladies were having their own fun on their own time, changing bed linen, dropping it in passageway etc and not picking dirty dressing gowns, up.We sat waiting, next to them as a new room was being sourced that was ready. They carried on laughing and joking in their home language, right in front of us. I was appalled by this. It took us by surprise. It felt like they were working in a value level hotel. They seemed oblivious to the proud standards of the rest of the hotel team who were exemplary. They just stepped over things and carried on. First impressions were really not good at this point.

Pros: Breakfast was very good indeed - great selection. Whilst the bed was a single, it was bigger than the average single bed and was comfortable. Great location for the main train station and the bus to the airport.

Pros: Breakfast, as reported by everyone, is exceptional - fresh orange juice, crepes, hot and cold choices, really fabulous. Our room was huge, clean, and the bathroom was lovely and modern with waterfall shower. The complimentary refreshments were really convenient. The receptionist also facilitated our request for an extra night with the reduced advance booking rate and wished me a happy birthday unprompted.
Cons: I think the late check out was rather expensive at 20francs/ hour, especially considering that it wasn't communicated to the hotel room staff and we disturbed without apologies. Though I recognize it was a simple oversight.

Pros: Well, I was more than surprised of this hotel having only 3 stars. Very friendly reception, free mini bar with alcoholfree drinks on every floor and a 24 hours bar in the lobby with smoking lounge. The room was the cleanliest one I have seen in a long time. Good value for money, I will visit again.
Cons: Nothing, the property fulfilled my expectations.

Pros: The staff was professional, curteous, multi-lingual, and the front desk was always staffed.
The hotel was amazingly generous with coffee, wine and snacks available throughout the day and evening. I also had free access to a computer and internet and a quiet place to settle in and work near the coffee, wine and snacks. A variety of international newspapers and magazines were available as well.
Within just a few hundred yards I found the Marketplace, filled with shops, restaurants, and an art museum with an impressive collection of impressionist paintings (my favorite) was also just a 10 minute walk away.
Did I mention there was free coffee, wine and snacks?

Cons: The twin room was a bit to small for two people. There was no hot water in the room (only coffee machine), we had to go to the basement to make a tea.

Pros: From check-in to leaving, an excellent experience. Hotel is literally across the street from the train station. It's a nice walk to the old town area and the river. And a quick trolly ride back with the included free town pass. Room was large and well equipped. Bath was spotless, well-equipped and with large walk-in shower. Included breakfast was delicious and offered good variety served in beautiful dining room.

Pros: Excellent location, very warm and helpful staff. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable.
Cons: If you are told you are on the first floor, ask if there are other rooms available. My room was and it ended up being quite loud. Furthermore, it was quite hot in the room, the AC was not working (I was told it is switched off in the winter, +1 for the environment) and I wanted to keep the window open, which was not doable given the noise.

Pros: Very close to the Spalentor and the old city. Easy access to buses and trams. The bus 30 connects the station to the hotel and with the complimentary Basel card, obtained from the hotel, you can travel around for free.
Cons: The hotel is located at a busy and noisy crossing. The windows do however a great job at keeping the noise down.

Pros: Good-sized room (even though booked for one person), very comfortable bed, great location for explore the city, at the same time close to a bus stop which takes you from hotel to airport in less than 30 minutes. Good breakfast, friendly and cheerful staff

Pros: The hotel has the best staff and the best position. I loved the gym open 24/7 and the fruit offered to the hosts. I would have never left the bed, so comfortable. Breakfast was nice and was offered in a quiet environment, at the top of the hotel, the best place where to enjoy the sun and a nice view of the city.

Pros: It was in a good location. We had a corner room overlooking the city gate, so the view was pretty, but a bit noisy. The hotel was comfortable and the staff very welcoming. The only thing that needs upgrading are the towels. They were very thin and scratchy. Theven old town area was very charming, especially since we were there during the holidays. I would stay at this hotel again if in the area.

All rooms, suites and apartments are bright and generously decorated. The modern and pleasant conference rooms are fully equipped with the latest technical infrastructure perfect for meetings and events.

Pros: I booked this hotel after my flight was cancelled. It exceeded my expectations as it had a few perks such as a free Basel Card and 24 hour coffee bar. The check in was seamless and the staff very helpful. The hotel was spotless. The bed was very comfortable and they had in room coffee and fridge. There were a few restaurants nearby and we choose Italian which was very good. There is a large mall nearby however I wished I had the time to have visited it. It was a quick and easy walk to the tram which was free with the Basel Card. Only 4 stops to the Old Town. Very convenient. I would definitely stay here again.
Cons: No airport transfer. It cost 55 CHF to get to the airport at 5:00 AM. This was the only negative.

Pros: Central location and wonderful staff - responsive and flexible to guest needs. Let staff know needs and will accommodate if possible. Checked out early 4:45 am and process was completed night before - easy. The room was clean and functional able to work and relax.
Cons: Exiting at 4:45 am was a tad challenging as gate was locked - found the external bell and support came - all worked out. Would like to have know this previously.

Pros: rooms were spotless and thoughtfully designed. The library with round the clock snacks and drinks was great fir those if us working through jet lag (and on Sundays, when little is open). Restaurant also great, staff and bikes were a great bonus and made the experience super welcoming.
Cons: it would be great to have coffee or a small kettle in the room, but that is very minor.

Pros: This B&B is located near the train station and on the outer edge of the old town. The interior decor had a charming antique theme. The best part of this place was the host, Corinne, who was most warm and friendly. She was a helpful source for suggestions and advice on public transportation and local attractions.

Pros: Nice quiet place, excellent location. personalized breakfast :) However I found the cost to be on the higher side, but I understand that is what it takes to keep a small local business like it viable. Overall great experience, the host was very amicable, got in touch with me before I arrived and made sure that I had everything that I needed. It's a pity that it was raining and I did not use the basel card they provided much.
Cons: I had a single bed and was wishing that it was a little bit wider and they provided multiple pillows.

Pros: Corinne is a warm, thoughtful and sincere host, who also prepares a lovely breakfast and is enjoyable to chat with. The property is conveniently located, clean and the room very spacious and comfortable. I enjoyed my 2-night stay in this homely environment very much.

Pros: Nice room. Good location as one can walk to the town center or take the tram N.2 which takes you direct from Basel SBB train station and leaves you right in front of the hotel. Both evening and daytime receptionnist where very kind, friendly and helpful. And of course you get the Basel card which is always super, very much appreciated.
Cons: The room is nicely designed in a sober style, it would add more comfort if there where a commode or other furniture to leave one's suitcase, bag and stuff (the desk is not enough). Also it would be nice to have sockets near the bed if you need to charge your phone/tablet while in bed. And one particular detail to improve: the cleaning lady's cart makes too much noise in the corridor. It would need another type of wheels or something not to wake up the guests if they are sleeping in ;)

Pros: The room was spacious and the shower was wonderful. The furniture was functional but was perfect for what we wanted - a clean, safe place to stay that is convenient to the Theater, Messe, and Train station. Parking was also easy at the trains tation garage across the street, with a discounted rate from the hotel. Breakfast was good - standard Swiss fare. Checking in and out was very easy and the receptionists were very friendly and kind.

Pros: Great central location. The staff are incredibly helpful, friendly and speak so many languages! The property is furnished to a superb standard, so much so I'd say it's more like a 4* than a 3*. I got a huuuge room and it was so cheap! The breakfast had a great range of food and loads of yummy local cheese. I'd definitely go back.

Pros: The hotel was well located, clean and comfortable. We had a deluxe room which gave us a good amount of space for our two night stay. We didn’t use it but there was a reasonable gym in the basement too!
