Pros: A fantastic welcome by wonderful staff. A lovely quiet rural location with some great views. Very environmentally friendly with a renewable heating source, green bathroom products and lots of local food. Great value for money.
Cons: The WiFi wasn't working which was nice in one way, but because there was very little phone signal meant that communication with family wasn't the easiest.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything, great place, location is amazing, the building looks brand new
Cons: Their description of rooms in booking was not precisely accurate, room have no kitchen, only apartments, but they changed ours to match the description, great staff

7.5 Good
Pros: This hostel was hard to find but we were exuberantly welcomed and made to feel at home. The room was small but comfortable and located near the old town with the harbour and bars. There were no other facilities or breakfast, just the rooms but it was fine for an overnight stop and the owner couldn’t have been more helpful and kind.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was amazing! Super welcoming and let me come a bit early, as soon as the other people had checked out and he had gotten it clean, since I had a somewhat uncomfortable night the night before and desperately wanted a nap. Very communicative and helpful.
Cons: Nothing really. Well, the plumbing makes some weird noises, but I think that's just how it's set up. Not really a problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great owner, very hospitable! Thank you!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, polite and helpful host. The room does meet your expectation. It is not a big deal, but it is perfect for what it is offering.
Cons: It is not the biggest room, or has the best soundproof, but it is not advertising itself in that way, so there is nothing I didn’t like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location, room decorated beautifully and Gotzon was the best. 10/10
8.8 Excellent
Pros: 8 mins walk from the train station and 6 mins from the bus station, very kind and supportive owner, huge room.
Cons: Shower could have been cleaner, not allowed to throw anything to the toilet.
5.4 Okay
Cons: Plumbing and noise levels
7.9 Good
Pros: The owner was very nice and friendly. Both the flat and the room were modern, cosy, with soft relaxing colors. I kind of liked the tiny breakfast kit. Amazing location in terms of convenience, walking distance to pretty much everything.
Cons: The street down our window was quite noisy on a Friday night. The toilet was noisy too.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The staff was friendly
Cons: Our room smelled permanently like raw meat because there is a butchery at the ground floor and the accomodation is at the first floor. The main entrance doesn't have light. The bed lining has holes, the bathroom is not clean specially the shower and the toilet is quite noisy. At the room there were a 'hiden' step in which I hit my feet, I was the rest of the trip limping. I wouldn't recommended it at all.
Barceló Bilbao Nervión - Bilbao - Building

8.5 Excellent (6,662 reviews)
C$ 167+
Overview Reviews
Design, technology, art, nature, modernity and sustainability join forces in the eco-urban concept of the Barceló Bilbao Nervión hotel.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Two female travelers: Comfortable beds, safe, clean room. Just across the cool foot bridge to everything downtown. Good location -- walkable to the Gugg. Very welcoming of foreigners and most of the staff speaks English very well and were able to communicate complicated transit directions to me (like how to get to the bus that takes you to the airport) despite my limited Spanish. We were even able to borrow an adapter for our phones. It's not "the perfect" central location, but good price relative to hotels that are right at the city center. If you want the air conditioning to cool you room down, leave a key in the placard when you leave for the day, otherwise it turns off to save energy. Room smelled clean and fresh. We were fine with the size of the bathroom area.
Cons: The lobby sitting area needs a good dusting/cleaning and maybe new carpet in the hallways.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Made me feel a VIP guest
Cons: Very nice in all aspects
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was huge! Bed was very comfy and the room was cool despite the airconditioner being disabled during winter.
Cons: Shower is a bit cramped
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel. Spacious rooms and amazing service .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Overly perfumed lobby but rest was excellent.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nice Hotel. Great location.
Cons: Very noisy! You can hear when the next room showers. Or when their mobile rings.

Pros: We had an overnight stay after a long drive. The next morning we left to catch the ferry from Bilbao. 30 minutes easy drive . Excellent evening meal and breakfast. Comfortable beds. Wonderful shower. Parking secure with lift direct to reception. 15 euros per night.
Cons: We found it difficult to find even with GPS. Not the fault of the hotel. But you need to give time to this before you travel. Especially as the road signs are not in Spanish.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best breakfast ever, and the staff are so friendly and helpful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved Brunch every morning. Avaar very friendly to all guests, makes omelets & other items fresh .even made me crispy bacon. Front desk are all very friendly & helpful. Lucked out when I chose Grand Bilboa. Also when they had to go on Lockdown on acct of coronavirus they booked me another lovely smaller apt hotel near Guggenheim.
Cons: Not applicable
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms bed was very comfortable staff on reception great breakfast was best I’ve had in Spain
Cons: Tv I was unable to get it to go back to English which normally you can do on smart TVs if a English language film etc staff could not help with it They need to sort that and I would stay longer then the odd night
8.0 Excellent
Pros: very good location a short walk downhill to the tram station. Parking a real plus on site, easy to get to from the main roads into and away from Bilbao.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic value and location. We will definitely be returning.
Cons: Nothing
7.4 Good
Pros: Facilities as they stand we're terrific. Clean, contemporary. Business luxury.
Cons: Staff– a bit disorganized and not super helpful. Individually, they were polite and kind. But I expected more from a 4* hotel. Looked at me like I had three heads every time I asked for a restaurant number or a taxi. Their answer to everything was giving me a map. LOCATION. This is BARELY in Bilbao in my opinion. The hotel is literally located on the exit ramp leaving the city. It barely fit on the map of center city. If you're going for business, it's perfect. But if you plan on exploring the city, get ready to walk, take trains, take buses, etc. I would highly recommend that tourists DO NOT stay in this hotel. It's at least a 45 minute walk from the Guggenheim & most of the tourist attractions. It is KIND OF close to the Old Part, but still a 15 minute walk.
8.6 Excellent
Pros: new hotel, clean and modern.
7.3 Good
Pros: The room was very big and clean, the big shower was fantastic I would like to have the same in my house. We could sleep well even if all the city was celebrating a festival. Last but not least the parking was really huge for our van
Cons: Everything was fantastic
7.7 Good
Pros: Large, comfortable room. Great variety of food at breakfast. Handy for motorway and old part of city. Parking available under the hotel.
7.0 Good
Pros: Spacious hotel
Cons: Restaurant was very basic
7.3 Good
Pros: Huge room, super comfortable bed, 5 min walk to tram stop and -10min journey to Guggenheim
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff was friendly, room was clean and spacious.
Cons: An article of clothing was left behind and we contacted the hotel an hour after check out with the specific location of the garment, and they were not able to recover it. (No lost and found ect.)
7.0 Good
Pros: The breakfast is great and even it is relatively far from the city center, it is very easy to reach public transportation from it. No charges is invoiced in case of no-show when you book with "free cancelation" condition.
5.3 Okay
Pros: The room was very spacious and comfortable. The choice of food at breakfast was very comprhensive and the staff very helpfull.
Cons: The waste bin in the bathroom was very small and hadnt been emptied. There was no other receptacle for waste.Travelling to the hotel by car from the City centre was a real nightmare.
6.7 Good
Pros: okay , staff spoke some English
Cons:
6.7 Good
Pros: staff was okay
Cons: breakfast poor , but okay for Spanish ( Basc ) Standards
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous hotel. Huge modern bedroom and bathroom. Super buffet breakfast in wonderful breakfast room. I can't speak highly enough. Thr price was absurd, 52 euros for the room, 20 euros for two breakfasts and 11 euros to park in the basement. Obviously these prices reflect the current Spanish economy and tourism, as otherwise my 83 euro stay would have been three times the price. It's a five minute walk to lightrailway station which takes you to the Gug. We walked back to the hotel from the Gug - it took about half an hour including a walk through the old town.
Cons: Absolutely no complaints at all.

Pros: This is a superb hotel and the preferred hotel for our company. My colleagues have stayed here several times. They stay for a few weeks at a time and always enjoy their stay. The hotel is so clean and the staff are very polite and helpful. The town of Bilbao is close by for bars and food.
Cons: One of my colleagues, only 1 out of 5, mentioned that the walls/floors were thin and that he could hear people talking/walking when he was trying to sleep. This is mainly due to inconsiderate people.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Bar Lady was very professional and polite.
Cons: Very nice place to visit. All the tapas bar, people are very welcoming and friendly
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A comfortable, efficient if slightly impersonal hotel. Breakfast was good though quite expensive when compared to what you pay for lunch or dinner in Bilbao restaurants. The location was fine and the key to getting around Bilbao is to use the tram which has a stop just over the river from the hotel. The hotel has its own carpark
Cons: We found our room very hot and the air conditioning didn't make much difference. With the window open there was a fair amount of traffic noise
8.8 Excellent

This hotel has facilities measuring 4401 square feet (409 square meters), including conference space. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is handy for ferry port. Our Campervan is over 2.3metres tall and many hotels around couldn’t accommodate it. Plus, some charge 15e for parking. This hotel charges 5e and height limit of 2m. Plenty of parking around the hotel and a disabled bay outside the front door. Rooms are a little basic but very clean and not too small. Shower was excellent. Cafe was fine with basic food and well frequented by locals including the police local - not a bad thing in my opinion! Very helpful and efficient staff. 10 minute walk to metro station if you want to get into the old town but lots of steps n stairs involved. All told it’s a good stop over point and chatting to a chap who regularly goes to spain from uk he says he’s been using this hotel for 5 years and no issues about security to vehicles etc.
Cons: There is no pretty view from any room as far as I could see? It’s set in the industrial area of the port. Machines and warehouses. But for an overnight stop it’s immaterial.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The decor and comfort of the room was perfect. Staff welcoming and charming. Very good dinner. Relatively close to Ferry. Parking facility on street or for a few euros covered safe parking. Sufficient number of plugs.
Cons: No!
5.4 Okay
Pros: It’s awasome butt not like three star
Cons: Not like Three star

5.0 Okay
Pros: airport
Cons: The staff was very unhelpful when rushed in the morning. We ordered a cab the day before for the next morning, and it showed up 30 minutes late. In the meantime, the staff said they couldn't help us or try to find alternative route for us. Very disappointed.
6.0 Good
Pros: The only reason I stayed in this hotel is because it is 3 min. from the airport and I had a very early flight to catch.
Cons: The people at the reception always seemed to be in a hurry. Eventhough nobody was waiting at the counter. When I asked questions they were very short. They didn't even made eye contact. or stoped doing whatever they were doing in the computer. Rood.

7.9 Good
Pros: Location was good, staff were very nice and room was very clean.
Cons: Bedroom was hot and had a choice between a rock and none existent pillow.
7.0 Good
Pros: Excellent location for sight-seeing. Very helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast. Large, comfortable rooms.
Cons: We chose this hotel in part because it had rooms for disabled guests. But, although our room could accommodate a wheelchair, the lifts were a tight squeeze, and the bathroom had a shower floor that was slippery when wet, no shelf to put soap or shampoo while in the shower, no seat in the shower or the bathroom, and nowhere to put a wash bag in the bathroom.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: - located in a very nice area - short walking distance to the museum & university
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They gave a small toy bear to our son- it was very sweet.
Cons: They had a big commercial party organized one floor down from our room, so we couldn’t sleep till 1am...
7.0 Good
Pros: Modern, clean hotel in a nice location. Very peaceful but also short walk into Bilbao centre and about 30mins walk to the old town. Lots of great food places around.
Cons: Only minor thing would be to have a few more pillows. But I assume if I had asked they would’ve given me. So really not a problem.

Pros: No hangers in closet No place to unpack suitcase Outrageously priced breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, spacious room with a very comfortable bed.
Cons: Some of the breakfast products were not replenished during breakfast hours during my stay.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent - easy to get to from airport and close to Old Town (restaurants, bars). Its an easy walk to San Mames stadium and the Guggenheim Museum, and from there to Artxanda funicular. Even the standard rooms are a good size - so theres no need to upgrade to even larger rooms.
Cons: I didnt think the breakfast was worth Eur 11 - even if it was reduced from Eur 16.50. Theres plenty cafeterias close by the hotel offering breakfast for much less.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. Breakfast is very good although nothing special. The location is superb.
Cons: The double bed was made by two single mattresses together, the little space in the middle made it not overly comfortable. But ok.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location and great breakfast A spacious family room!
Cons: Strong smell of air purifier...

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has a friendly and helpful staff who made us feel comfortable right from the start. On top the room was very tidy and had an original setting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly situated for the Guggenheim and shopping areas. We ate at excellent restaurants that were recommended by the hotel and were only 5 to 10 minutes walk away. The room was a good size and clean; the hotel has a library/bar where you can help yourself and note down what you’ve had. I liked that we were being trusted to do that. The staff were excellent. Ruben was very helpful ahead of the stay booking a restaurant for my birthday. But Gorka was the stand out person when we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he really helped to make the trip run smoothly for us. A great hotel that I highly recommend.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: They took care of our problems.
Cons: There was a problem with the heat in the room and they moved us right away.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Unfortunately because of the Cironaviros situation we couldn't use any of the facilities, however we would return. Staff very helpful. Great secure parking
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I was really happy with this hotel, it is very convenient, clean, comfortable, helpful staff and an excellent breakfast buffet
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very pleasant. Despite the renovation work, the cleanness was great. Amazing breakfast, huge variety.
Cons: We listened the TV sound from next room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent choice if you visit Bilbao; everything is walking distance Our room was really comfy with a big bathroom and most of all super clean. We had the breakfast included, it was a big continental buffet with a Spanish touch, and a really nice the healthy corner, with 4 or 5 kind of milk, fruit, mix nuts, cereal bars and super healthy cake. In site there is a really nice caffetteria, where we had lunch our last day, with a selection of pintxos, sandwiches and burgers. There is also a really nice restaurant, it's always busy, but we didn't try it.
Cons: nothing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location for a stay in Bilbao - nice breakfast, large bedroom. Parking on site (pay per day)
Cons: the room was too cold, and climate control was not working. Blackout curtains were not working properly, the system was clearly too fragile for a professional usage.
1.0 Poor
Cons: Bathroom was unfinished, undergoing building work/renovations. Holes in wall for potential toilet brush fitting? Unfinished floor and around pipework. Not a hook or shelf in sight for towels, clothes or toiletries in the shower. On registering my complaint a staff member said the room was 'completely finished' but then contradicted herself by adding 'we have to put hangers for the towels and the amenities'. A three night stay fell well below expectations, a big disappointment.
