9.6 Excellent
Cons: Grass at the pool and between bongalows has to be renewed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: There are so many hidden spots- just amazing. All these different restaurants keep your stay interesting as well. We also booked surfing lessons through “Swiss travel”, whom are located in the hotel, and it was such a great experience too.
Cons: It is quite huge...so it’s easer to just call for pick up and transportation insteas of walking around. Be aware that the beach is not provat and there are no chairs available.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at the adult only Royal Beach Club Tower. Loved having the option for the adult only pool and restaurant that only guests in the RBC could have access to. We had our own concierge, business center, special snacks at a private lounge each night. The staff knew our names and treated us like royalty. They were fantastic. Very well run resort. This was a great time of year to go. There were only a few guests on the property. It did rain a little each day at about 2, but it always cleared back up for the sunset. Got some GREAT deals on excursions through Eric just inside the beach entrance. He is a local who has been doing this for 20 years. He is not associated with the hotel. Prices were negotiable. Favorite restaurant was the French (Tuna Tartar!). Exellent presentation and service. Delicious! We will definitely go back.
5.4 Okay
Pros: food
Cons: they dont give me the room ( Jr.premium Suite . one bed room ) what i booked for and one hour at check in process. i will review on TripAdvisor , when i get back to States. royal beach club swimming pool is under renovation and they try to said they are up grading me. i dont buy it. bz i travel all over the world. if hotels keep doing that , Airbnb will take over the world.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It is a beautiful place, very big and with many things to do around. Italian and sea food restaurants are INCREDIBLE. They gave us an upgrade to royal because we were on our honeymoon. Great value for the price. Worth every penny.
Cons: Sometimes people from the service were cleaning the rooms, and it was too noisy. There was a group of 150 tourists, and as nationals we felt a little “excluded” due to all the attention driven to them in terms or service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds are beautiful and the ambiance is one of total relaxation. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The buffet is amazing.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Room service was poor.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Friendly staff. Prompt to respond to requests. Exceptionally good food- surprise: buffet food was actually better than restaurants options. Lots of fun excursions and activities. VERY CLEAN BEACH! Night time shows were fun and good quality. Beds were clean and very comfortable.
Cons: Near impossible to make restaurants reservation. Rooms would need more thorough cleaning and generally need updating. No privacy - all bathroom doors are see-through!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We spend new year’s eve in Conchal, pretty nice place very good ambient very family style and we also enjoy the pool a lot, Francisco Jara pool bar bartender was really nice and the coctels were fabulous! Thanks Francisco!

Pros: Great to step out of your room and see the pool. Spaces to sit in and relax and read. Helpful staff and well informed.
Cons: close to the road but not really a problem.
7.1 Good
Pros: The penthouse was just as we saw in the photos online. Nice room, nice view of ocean.
Cons: Service was ok. Most pictures online only showed the rooms and not the rest of the grounds. Thought it was closer to the beach and manuel Antonio park. Had to take the bus or taxi to get most places. Felt like It was overrated for what I got in value. Nice penthouse room if you plan on spending most of your time at the hotel. Refrigerator steel looking silver paint looked like it was coming off. I only give it this review because of the overall service and nicess of the place and amount we payed at other places in Costa Rica were better in comparison and we payed twice as much here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place with amazing staff. They are truly there to ensure you have a great time. As a solo traveler, I got to meet other solo travelers, couples and also bond with the staff. The rooms are nice and clean. The beds are a bit hard but still comfortable. The food and drinks are amazing. Fresh fruits in the morning, coffee, tea and water available all day. Other restaurants and stores are near. They also provided me with fresh cut aloe vera for my sunburn and gave me tips. It is a quieter place to stay, good place to relax to the max, enjoy the pool and beaches. It's a good deal to stay at Conchal Hotel. You are sure to receive quality customer service and have access to nice beach without paying a fortune to stay somewhere. You will want to stay there longer, the reviews are true.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we checked in until we left, all staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you all! Papaya restaurant offers delicious food and is not to be missed. Located close to a variety of activities and beaches, it’s the perfect spot to lounge poolside and enjoy cocktails & snacks or book tours. Tropical flowers & plants and the colorful units make the pool area a true oasis.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We really appreciate the hospitality of the host! She was very kind and welcoming!! Since there were many rooms available because of covid 19, the host gave us a big one on a second floor. The room was very spacious with high ceiling, with a comfortable king bed and with a nice view on a beautiful garden and swimming pool! It looked new and clean! Nice and cozy! It’s not far from beaches, the most favorite ones we liked Brasilito, Playa Flamingo and Danta beach.. with a car it takes a few minutes. We couldn’t enter Playa Conchal beach (due to covid 19) which is nearby but we heard It is very nice! Generally we enjoyed staying there!
9.0 Excellent

5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Not very clean, cant pay with card, beds arent Nice
8.3 Excellent
Pros: On the ocean frontline. Welcoming staff, nice pool and a clean room.
Cons: The place was very quiet, but when people were walking on the shared balcony, we felt the vibrations in the room.
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff was great and the location couldn’t be better
Cons: I expected the court yard to be a little nicer
6.5 Good
Pros: Location Distraction free - No TV Close to attractions - Conchal/Tamarindo/Hermosa Good internet coverage Great helpful manager/staff - good tips on beaches and other areas of interest
Cons: Surrounding area is busy, congested No breakfast Loud music by the bars in the area (not owned by the hotel)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beachfront location. Great value. Nice staff
Cons: very noisey for sleeping. As others have mentioned roosters start calling as early as 4 am
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love staying at La Sabana whenever we're in San Jose for dental work. Lovely homey place with kitchenettes and fantastic breakfasts.
7.0 Good
Pros: Value for money. Room is basic, but has the necessary. The pool is a nice cool down. Beach is 50m away and all the bars too. No shortage of night time options. Definitely get what you pay for.
Cons: Brasilito is a scruffy place, so the hotel can't escape that. But the walk to Conchal is short. Cleaning staff left my door unlocked all day -not ideal. And it is basic - desperately needs a make over (and a safe).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: That it was authentic and personal. The location is great and after a couple of nights you don’t notice the noise from the bar opposite. The pool and hammocks were a great way to spend a relaxing day. The bar maid makes the best Guaro sour drink!!! All the staff are so friendly and helpful, the manager deserves a big thank you as is a lovely lady.
Cons: There is nothing g to dislike unless you are accustomed to boring star rated generic hotels that are all the same and you could be any where in the world!! However if you want something with character then you will love hotel Brasilito as much as we do!!
4.0 Okay
Pros: Good location to walk to Playa Conchal.
Cons: Upon checking in you have to pay immediately. Strange process. Was begrudged to hand over $90 after trying to find parking for 45 minutes in 33° heat, then struggling over to the hotel with all of our bags, complained and spoke to the owner who's suggestion regarding parking was to wait a few hours until it was less busy and get a spot closer. So not relax, or have a drink or settle down in order to move the car. Unreserved, unmonitored parking on site means everyone can park anywhere, which they do when visiting nearby Playa Conchal. The room was nice initially, until we heard shuffling and load scratching noises constantly for our stay every 4-10 minutes. So loud we didn't sleep! I told the receptionist and one of her colleagues about the noise when it was becoming unbearable at around 10pm - she suggested it was the wind... Her colleague came to have a look and laughed "oh yeah it's an Iguana it won't hurt you". I wasn't worried about being hurt, I needed some sleep. Anyway, he was unhelpful and said "what do you expect me to do about it", as if I had requested he catch it and BBQ it for us. I made a video as the sound was so ridiculous. I asked if there was maybe a different room to stay in so we could get a little rest at least. He told me to go back to speak to the reception - not at all helpful. Kitchen area was also unclean (lots of dust over everything) and there seemed to be a group of large red biting ants in the room - some falling from a height onto the bed. Lovely.

6.0 Good
Pros: Everything else was ok
Cons: The beach in front of the hotel is horrible and the fact that they charge extra for wifi is ridiculous
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Carlos in Kyoto made our stay more acceptable. The only emplyee who cares
Cons: Advertisement, website and what hotel advertoses is all aie. Room is dirty, outdated. Beach is dirty and not for a swim. Food lucks variety. Only person was nice Carlos in Kyoto. Reservation in all inclusive for a la carte once per three days No drinks. Bar is open limited hours. Flies manifistation over open air food is recepie for disaster... We had no towels and no amedities when we checked in 2 star at best
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We knew from reading all the previous reviews what we were getting in to. We were surprised by the quality of the food and the cleanliness of the grounds and pool. We never had to wait in line for food but at the pool bar there was an occasional five minute wait. The beaches are worth everything else and are some of the best in the world. This was why we came here and we weren't disappointed. Having a hot Salsa band at the pool every afternoon was a bonus!
Cons: The front desk staff was quite nasty and proved that they were unhappy employees every time we interacted with them. The food workers were just super as was everyone else.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I thought it brilliant and the all inclusive approach worked well
Cons: Paying separately for internet didn't really make sense
4.8 Okay
Pros: The pool was really great as was the view from the room
Cons: They do not know how to properly clean. We had dirty sneakers, empty soda bottles amongst other issues when we checked into room. There is not a lot of choices w drinks and they are poorly made. There is no WiFi that works outside the main area
7.0 Good
Pros: The resort was very good and the staff was very friendly. Wide variety of food, cocktails and entertainment from the property. The beach next to the hotel was also nice to swim and see the sunset. Last the hotel is full of animals like sloths or monkeys which makes it feel you are in the wild.
Cons: The internet connection is something you need to pay and is working only on some limited areas and not in the room. Completely unacceptable for a resort. The rooms have no sound proof you can hear people chatting from other floors.
6.0 Good
Pros: The pool and beach were nice. The buffet restaurant was good with a lot of selection. The Japanese ala carte was good. The grounds were pretty.
Cons: Definitely not a 5 star. The entrance is very underwhelming...first sign it was not a 5 star. Our room in building 4 was falling apart. The door handle fell off every time. The patio doors were sun beat and were all milky. The bathroom needs a major reno. That being said it appeared the hotel has renovated some rooms unfortunatly we didn't get one of those. Luckily we got a good deal or we would've been choked. Wifi isn't great.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nice location, altough you can’t swim at the beach due to rocks. Bed was good. The food and buffet actually was quite good.
Cons: A lot of mold in the bathroom, dirty toilet, balcony door seems also quite damaged. Definitely NOT 5*quality. In general, the room seems poorly cleaned.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Comfortable beds. Great view of the beach. Nice pools.
Cons: The room furniture is strange. There was no dresser in the room for our clothes. We lived out of the suitcase for the a week. No chair in the room to sit on. The sliding door to our balcony wouldn't shut or lock properly.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place in the center of all the tourism.
Cons: Everything at the hotel was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was wonderful . The staff very friendly. Beautiful location
Cons: Not much to complain about... the property is beautiful and the staff is very accommodating...
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location is good as it is directly on the beach.
Cons: From the moment we checked in the staff was rude and unhelpful. After talking to the employees, I learned the hotel has a high staff turnover and most of the staff seemed to be untrained. Checkin attendant was rude and did not offer to set me up with a house account which I later discovered I needed to conveniently make purchases. The concierge service were a joke. Extremely unhelpful and acted like I was inconveniencing them when I ask them to arrange for ground transportation from Tamarindo to another beach. The rooms were old and run down and smelled of mildew. There was construction to the staircase outside of my room which began every morning at 7am. The rooms were not clean and the sink did not have an operating drain. Also, house keeping did not replenish small toiletries or coffee/tea on a daily basis. The beach are is OK, but they have one waitress for the entire garden area so it took over an hour to get and pay for one drink. She was sweet, but also had only been on the job for 2 days and was extremely slow as she was new! The beach are has old plastic lawn chairs. Not updated. No chairs for use on the beach without paying a beach hustler $25+. All-day-along you have drug dealers walking up and down the beach asking you to buy hard drugs. The crowd seemed a bit rough! When you were not being bothered by a drug dealer or Simone hustling Chinese gift wares, you were being asked if you want to buy sex. The nightclub down the street from my ocean front room went until 3am and the music was so loud you could not sleep. Perhaps my expectations are high as I travel a lot, but this hotel was a 2 star charging 4 star Cost Rica pricing and I left feeling ripped off. I will not visit this hotel again and strongly advise downgrading their rating.
7.0 Good
Pros: This is a 300 dollar a night hotel. No water stations to fill water bottles in a very eco conscious country. AC did not work well. Sliding glass door came off rails. This aren’t big things but when you can get these basics at a cheaper hotel why upgrade?
Cons: Wrote these in opposite categories
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food and staff were GREAT! Our room was clean and spacious, the safe gave us no problems and the location was amazing. There was construction during our stay but you could barely tell unless you were in the middle of It. I would hands down stay again.
Cons: Nothing to complain about.
7.0 Good
Pros: Close to the beach. Close to restaurants and shops
Cons: Too many children wearing questionable garments in pools. Too hard getting away from many flies at buffet Our room was not the best
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The buffet breakfast was good and the location in the beach is beautiful.
Cons: There was construction going on everyday from 10 am on. We were trying to relax in our room and all we could hear was hammering of concrete right out side our room. When I talked to guest services about it they said sir most of our guests are already awake. Also thee was little to no hot water and house keeping came into our room 3 times without knocking while we were trying to sleep. For a room that costs over 300 usd a night there was so many issues we will never come back here. Customer service did nothing to make it better.
9.0 Excellent
Cons: The scrambled eggs could have been cooked more. Every day they were the same and runny.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location, surfing, tour organizing, pools
Cons: Kids club would be great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Resort was very nice and in a great location. Room was clean and right on the beach. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
Cons: No guests are allowed in rooms.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool furthest from the beach was amazing. Having a swim up bar was awesome. Great restaurants nearby. Location was perfect and by all the dance clubs.
Cons: My room door was not flush to the floor so cockroaches came in quit a bit. Having to cross a busy street all the time was dangerous and annoying, especially when an officer was not there to help us cross. The pool, furthest from the beach did not have food, only the pool by the beach did. They did not have an american tv channel list in our room and asked room service twice to deliver it which never came.

5.0 Okay
Pros: It was ok
Cons: The bathroom was very small, beds awful and the pillow were absolutely terrible. The pool was the best part and the view and the food other than breakfast was good.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nice views
Cons: Strange hotel A big hotel chain with hardly any staff One person in the lobby No bell boys Almost no one working there Breakfast nothing special at all
7.0 Good
Pros: During the Coronavirus outbreak, we were looking to isolate ourselves from the town of Tamarindo as best we could. The Wyndham is high atop a hill with open staircases and hallways so we could avoid elevators. All rooms face the ocean and have good size balconies with morning shade. The pool is huge and pristinely maintained with enough deck space to allow us to practice social distancing. A shuttle service connected us to the beach area. The rooms were a good size with comfortable king size beds.
Cons: We used the complimentary breakfast buffet only once. We had dinner in the restaurant only on our first day. The open buffet was not sanitary during these trying times. The tables were not sanitized between patrons. Glasses and cutlery were not handled correctly. The shuttle service was not following isolation or sanitizing protocol. We stopped using it. The room attendant wore street clothes, no gloves nor mask. We canceled our room cleaning. We are retired hotelier. We understand the challenges of a hotel to ramp up services during these trying times. The Wyndham, Tamarindo has failed to meet even the basics.

Cons: Small bathroom
8.0 Excellent
Pros: View
Cons: Bathroom / shower is very small

Pros: Nice view, nice staff, away from the huzzle of town, beautiful facility, shuttle to town very reliable
Cons: Music at the pool
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible hotel. Infinity pool allows for the sickest sunsets.
7.1 Good
Cons: Maintenance service, on the day my family checked in the room my children selected in had a leaking AC and hazardous. I called the lobby and asked if they can fix it, they said yes and it will be done by tomorrow. Second day, after coming back from activities the AC was the still leaking. I called again and notified them that the ac was still leaking, they told me they were sorry and will get it done by tomorrow. Third day came in and after coming back at 7pm it was still leaking. I personally went up to the front desk and complained that NOTHING done. They said once again said they're sorry and will get it done by tomorrow for sure or get another room. It was too late for my kids to switch rooms so I waited till the next day. Fourth day rules in, me and my kids walk in the room after 5 PM to see if anything is done. We end up finding the AC machine removed and left on the ground with dust all over the floor, now the room offiacly doesn't have enough ac. I had enough I ended up switching my kids room. Now instead of them only being 2 rooms starts they ended up on the other side of the building

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice beach just in front, very nice pool with a bar. Hammock on the patio of our room. Overall a wonderful place! The 5 o clock bar offers a wonderful view on the sunset.
Cons: Several things didn’t work smooth when checking in: they forgot to book a deposit on our card, which then led to trouble buying drinks at the pool. Afterwards, the room keys didn’t work and the battery of the safe was empty. This all costed us quite some time to get it fixed.
7.0 Good
Pros: Pool, location
Cons: Typical hotel rooms. Lot of kids, AC didn’t work well in room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to the beach, good food, very nice pool and good people
Cons: Pool bar not open long enough
7.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful location. Beach was amazing. Staff very friendly. We had two different rooms during our stay and both were very nice. Food was very good.
Cons: Beach is actually across a dirt road and does not belong to the hotel, so we had to ask for lounge chairs to be brought over there and were told to be very careful about our belongings. Hotel advertises four restaurants, but there are actually only three and they are small. One “restaurant”is actually the pool bar. There Is not much around the outside of the hotel. There is a very small shopping center across the street, with a few restaurants in it. Highly recommend a car to travel outside the area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful smaller beach front property. Would be a great place for a wedding.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Absolutely nothing! Go if you like cockroaches in your bathroom and room, being harassed by non-licensed individuals each and every-time you go to the beach selling non insured activities/trips and renting dirty old shade covers and lawns chairs at ridiculous high prices and junk souvenirs made in China! Cheesy and annoying week pool Activities and bus boys that don’t wipe tables down after guests finish eating yet put down new cutlery and leave unused coffee cups on the table for the next guests to use albeit your know the previous guest touched them and your in the middle of going through the coronavirus!
Cons: Cockroaches in the bathroom. Even with the Coronavirus in full swing and the Costa Rican government closing bars/discos, canceling all gatherings, closing national parks, mandating that restaurants work at 50% and other countries closing restaurants 100% and only allowing take out, food delivery and drive through ... the staff refused to allow me fill couple plates or take away containers with food from their restaurant to bring back to my kids in the room. We were practicing Social Distancing as much as possible. Under no circumstances did we want to eat at the restaurant due to the coronavirus while we waited for our early flight back home. They said it was against policy. Even under the Coronavirus circumstances, they refused to be flexible and understanding that we were only doing what was best for our kids and taking the Costa Rican’s government cautions and instructions to stay home seriously! BTW they did have take out boxes and did allow guests that had paid to do excursions with the hotel exclusively to fill take out boxes with with food to go. Even with the coronavirus in full swing, the only change we could see was some hand sanitizers at the from desk and one restaurant. No label on the hand sanitizer, so we had no idea what was actually in the bottle. No hand sanitizer at the bars, towel exchange, pool area and etc .... We paid for a room with Garden View but we were given Parking Lot view. They refused to change the room with no explanation even though I showed my reservation and the hotel barely filled due to the coronavirus. Very expensive hotel for a lot of nothing! $1500 US for a room for three nights with no view, nothing exciting going on in terms of activities and no private beach and etc .... not my idea of quality! Only breakfast included! We stayed in two bedroom villas offering much more like thermal pools, water slides, meals, and so much more for half the price at other hotel/resorts in Costa Rica.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Literally ‘on-beach location’
Cons: Queuing for breakfast .. the place has three restaurants but only one open for breakfast. Staff where friendly but busy
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Marjorie who works breakfast, lunch and dinner is the nicest, kindest most helpful and very hard excellent worker, please give her a raise. The breakfast had a big selection and was very good, also great that you could order eggs cooked anyway you like. The location was great, walk across narrow dirt road and your on the beach. The Italian restaurant is very good and Jaime is an excellent hard working man along with Jeanneth & Erika, they treat you like royalty and they all deserve a raise! Maids and maintenace keep the rooms and grounds very clean!
Cons: Room 2109 didn't have a screen door, the bottom of the toilet leaks, the hair dryer has a short in the handle, at check out i had to run back to room to hand in my pool towels, activity was cancelled and nothing to replace it, the pool bar often closed before designated time
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is awesome. Just steps away from the beach.
Cons: No
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location. Beachfront view is fabulous. Rooms are clean & comfortable. The front desk staff are very accommodating.
Cons: The all inclusive price was exorbitant. The desset menu needs improvement. The noise level was excessive late at night near the garden area.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome and very attentive staff literally triying to satisfy your wishes before even outspoken. Very good food, sufficient choice of different food for breakfast. Hotel offers all kinds of amenities like gym, big pool (great for swimmers), spa etc.. To be recommended for sure!
6.0 Good
Pros: Spacious, clean rooms and grounds steps from the beach.
Cons: Food was the worst we had in Costa Rica, some confusion between staff, tried to add unnecessary charges to our bill. Staff called our room at 11pm to discuss our account when we were already sleeping for an early flight.

Pros: This is a fabulous place to stay - beautiful, seductive, interesting, and so tropical. We had wonderful food, kind staff, the best pool , the most amazing room with rain showers, wonderful spa, interesting guests to talk to, and even howler monkeys to visit each day. This is a great place to spend the last few days of your Costa Rican vacation. We will definitely return to beautiful Costa Rica and Calla Luna.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Really good value for the money. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds are generally fairly charming. Convenient, decent little view of the water from the restaurant pool area. The room was fully adequate. Housekeeping was good. When I requested an ironing board it came very promptly. Not right in town but a very short walk from the beach. Good restaurants within easy walking distance either way down the road. Bar serves plenty of beer and fine drinks.
Cons: The rooms and overall grounds are a bit tired and dated. This isn't a high-end luxury experience. The bar/pool/restaurant are equally sort of mid-range. Nothing wrong with them, but not swanky or particularly nice. The restaurant/bar is called Crazy Monkey... that should give you a notion. Just need to have appropriate expectations.
6.2 Good
Pros: Location location location close to nice Tamarindo beach! Staff was cordial and rooms were decent with the breakfast reasonable.
Cons: Very Noisy adults only type party at bar on Friday night- could not sleep till past 2.15! Not what I had bargained for when booking the place. Facilities are ok- you get what you pay for.
3.1 Mediocre
Cons: We had a room right by pool. We were assured the pool would be closed at 10:00 pm. People kept us up until 3:00 am. A few hours later it was loud people outside the door and shortly thereafter were cleaning ladies with trash cans making their rounds. It was horrible. I didn't stay the other two nights I booked and was told they weren't responsible for returns since I purchased with a third party. When my third party tried to reach them, they didn't answer all day.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location, it is in front of the beach, just crossing the street. The front desk representative Jennifer was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good.
Cons: Friday's nights they have a huge party, and it goes from 9 pm to 2 30 am soooo, if you want to rest, sleep, and relax, this is not the best option...
9.4 Excellent
Pros: I really liked the location of the hotel, even though it wasn't directly on the beach. But it was right in front, less than a 10 minute walk!! The pool area has a beautiful view of the beach to relax and enjoy. The reception office is a bit of a walk to get to but they are all helpful. They gave me advice regarding traveling by bus. The room is nicely decorated and the shower is pretty big! The bed was a tad small but overall great room.
Cons: I didn't like that you couldn't order room service, or I did not know how. I also didn't like the size of the bed but I understand I booked by third party so bed type isn't guaranteed.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Really clean and comfortable room, staff very nice.
7.0 Good
Pros: Close to the beach
Cons: Payed 55$ for a regular room. So for the price can't complain, breakfast was very basic. Room not well cleaned

Pros: Very helpful and friendly staff
Cons: The weekly Friday night blow out party is an annoyance to guests staying there. It should really tone down after midnight
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is always so nice, your rooms are incredibly comfortable and well put together. I really think you have a fantastic place
Cons: The pool area/restaurant/bar at night time our pitch black and there’s no safety lights at all. Very easy to trip and fall
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Near the beach. Good location not much good thing to say.
Cons: Very noisy hotel, they play loud music until 22h everyday. On Friday night, the music goes crazy until 2h30am. We hear the music 1 miles away from the hotel. I don’t recommend this hotel, as they don’t give a s… to offer customer a quiet place.

Pros: Jardin del Eden is a beautiful hotel in Guanacaste. I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. From the spectacular view upon entering the lobby, the unbelievably friendly, kind staff, and the comfort of our room, it was a wonderful stay here. We stayed here for a week in February 2020. Our room was comfortable, immaculate, and included a balcony and hot tub. We watched the most incredible sunsets from the balcony and were even visited by a monkey! The level of cleanliness was outstanding, staff cleaned the room everyday. Breakfast and dinner are included and we enjoyed both. The selections for breakfast included fresh fruit, eggs, waffles, fresh bread and jams and juices too. Of course, Costa Rican coffee was also served and was delicious. Choices for dinner included two entrees, appetizers and desserts. During our stay we never had the same meal offered twice. On its own, the Jardin del Eden is a beautiful hotel, however, we believe that the quality of the staff is what makes this hotel a wonderful place. We want to personally thank Endi, Nancy, Richard, Eli, Deiner and Cesar for their outstanding level of service during our stay.

Pros: What a friendly, efficient and attentive personnel at the hotel. They could not do enough for us. Our room had a breathtaking view over the sea. The food was delicious and served with a smile.... lots of smiles. The beach was sooooo long and wide, great for our daily walk. Pura Vida !

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was superb, dinner generally excellent. Pool area and gardens absolutely immaculate and the garden staff do a wonderful job. One of the nicest places we've stayed in for a while....and we travel a lot! Nothing flashy but so well run and the staff are very hard working and pleasant. Excellent aircon. Location was (mostly quiet) but so close to the main strip with bars, restaurants and shops etc. We will be back.
Cons: Desserts lacked a bit of variety. Wasn't keen on the tiny loose stones around the pool area, which end up on the sunbed.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved how exclusive it felt: calm, quiet, no kids and no crowds, yet very close to the beach and all the shops. The perfect adults only hotel
Cons: The road leading up to the hotel badly needs to be paved. But it was short.

Pros: Amazing staff! Diego was incredible with tips of tours and beaches to go to. The hostel was amazing! Basketball and voleyball courts, pool and pingpong table were incredible. I had the best 10 days ever at selina!! Also close to the beach, supermarket and restaurants.
Cons: Food was stolen from the fridge but it wasnt the hostel's fault.

Pros: Location, murals, activities, beach & food.
Cons: The room we stayed in didn’t have much.. no hangers or area for your things. The floor was covered in sand and felt like it was never washed. Going from our room at Selina Jaco to this was a big difference and wasn’t as nice. Wasn’t a fan of the room at all.

Pros: Had a wonderful, peaceful 4-night visit at this beautiful resort. It is perfectly located at the end of Tamarindo Bleach. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The staff were all very friendly and helpful as I tried to communicate in Spanish even though they all spoke impeccable English. The bed was firm and the shower pressure was excellent. Breakfast selection was delicious and a wide variety. Dinner was also very good. The gardens were well kept.
Cons: The hotel is of a European style, which provides a duvet and not a top sheet for the bed. The duvet was a little warm/heavy for my preference. I was able to use a ‘sand’ sheet as a cover.

9.7 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool. Small size. close to the beach. decent price ($124 for 3 people in Nov, including breakfast) Nice staff.
Cons: breakfast was okay.
5.8 Okay
Pros: This is a small hotel set back from the busiest part of the town. We stayed in a one room apartment which was big but with a tiny and rather tired shower room. There was a proper kitchen and you could self cater here - there is a supermarket on the other side of the road. This is a modest place and best described as basic. However there was a big bed and the a/c worked well (bedroom only). No real outside space (there is a hammock, but no where to sit). The hotel has a small pool with sun-loungers. The town is busy and noisy but it is relatively quiet here. You have a very short walk to many bars and restaurants. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Staff are pleasant.
Cons: We did like the place and enjoyed our stay. However, you must accept that this is a busy young people’s town. If you want to escape the crowds drive 30 minutes to Playa Grande on the other side of the bay - quiet and beautiful with a couple of small hotels. There is an issue with a pulsing noise which might come from the fan in the next room. This needs to be fixed. I wouldn’t in truth stay in this town again. Finally, the hotel is far too expensive for what is on offer.
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast is awesome and the staff is friendly. Great central location and there were monkeys that came on the roof!
Cons: The towels that were replaced were very dirty and so were the pillow cases and the sheets. Big negative but the only negative.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: LOVED the individual cabana rooms, loved the pool and the location was perfect - hidden but a two minute walk into the main areas of town.
7.0 Good
Pros: We had the breakfast once and it was a good value for the price. The grounds are lovely. Nice pool area. The location was close to town. The staff was helpful when there were problems. Staff was also helpful with transportation and restaurant requests. They are currently working on increasing security on the property.
Cons: Trouble with the A/C. Difficult to use the safe and door locks. No comfortable seating in room. Very dim lighting and impossible to read in the room. Beds very hard. Only one English TV channel. Very loud late night music from nearby bars
10.0 Excellent
Pros: There's a lot to like about Pasatiempo. Even though the town can be loud and busy, the hotel is a quiet and peaceful reprieve. The pool is comfortable, breakfast is very good, and the staff is amazing. We stayed 6 days during the 3rd week of February. Pool/Weather- We went in February and it's very windy in Pasatiempo then--I saw previous reviews complaining about the cleanliness of the pool but I think they do a fine job cleaning it considering there are things getting blown into it constantly. There are monkeys living in the trees on the property which was really entertaining to watch them do their thing. We don't have kids, but there were families playing in the pool continuously and having a great time. Was also never over crowded. Room- We stayed in 3 rooms. I will elaborate on the experience more in the other part of the review. But we loved the second room we stayed in (room 12 I believe). The feel of the room was very, very comfortable. The AC worked great. The bed was very comfortable Staff- Every staff member we worked with was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Thank you so much for making our stay enjoyable. Location- Location wise it's incredibly easy to get anywhere from the hotel. Loads of food options. Very easy to walk to the beach. And parking our rental care was never an issue. The hotel has live music several days a week, which can draw a crowd and can be fun to join in on. Alot of the other guests we stayed with were families or retired couples (we're a childless couple in our 30s). If you want to go out and enjoy the party/club scene you can, but then you can come back to the hotel and get peace and quiet (so long as the monkies don't drop mangos on your roof lol). Breakfast- Worth having it included and its really nice to wake up and have breakfast when on vacation. Fresh and easy. I would highly recommend staying at Pasatiempo over almost any other location we saw in Tamarindo.
Cons: This was our only 'negative' experience but it was handled very well so I believe it's worth sharing: Room 1- We arrived later in the evening to check in, so the night staff/security checked us in (Which was very nice of them) to room number 01. Unfortunately, our first room was not enjoyable. It was incredibly outdated (thread bare towels, stained sheets, rusty lock to close the bathroom that didn't work, rock hard bed, stains/marks all over the wall). It just, wasn't a great feel. Around 9pm the room became a rallying point for a bunch of larger orange ants that we spent the rest of the evening killing bc they climbed the walks/bed/etc. (Could never locate a single entrance point for them they were just coming in from the floor boards). Resolution/Room 2&3- We went to the office in the morning to tell the manager on sight about our plight and they were immediately helpful. We were moved to another room right away. And the second room was SO MUCH BETTER. The vibe of the second room alone was a vast improvement. The bed was so comfortable. Everything in the room seemed well cared for (newish towels, sheets, locks, cleans walls etc). Because the hotel was fully booked, management had to set us up in two rooms over our stay (thank you). At the end of our stay we were put up in a larger room that came with the bigger space/bed and fridge. Honestly, we loved the second room the most. The fridge is a nice thing to have if you really want cold water or to store some food. Point: if there's an issue the staff will definitely help you find a happy resolution.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed Large lovely room Lovely restaurant great pizza Close to airport
10.0 Excellent
Pros: There are many reasons why this was our favorite hotel of the whole trip (we stayed at multiple places, a few days each - and enjoyed this one the best). The location is excellent - right near the beach, fun bars, great food, music - yet it felt quiet and secluded. The staff was wonderful. We were met with smiles (and a "Welcome" bottle of beer). The breakfast (DO opt in on it!) was amazing. A combination of buffet and cooked to order, with excellent service. One night there was music in the dining room and I ended up dancing with several other women from Toronto - just unexpected fun that seem to be part of the casual yet friendly atmosphere. Finally, I accidentally left behind something precious to me and the Manager was very responsive in looking for it (found, thank goodness) AND offering to mail it back to me. I wish every place I stayed - anytime I travel - was this enjoyable.
Cons: I really won't change a thing, honestly.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely pool, beautiful grounds, excellent breakfast, helpful staff. We would rebook.
Cons: Not secure parking. Our rental car was damaged by someone trying unsuccessfully to break into it, despite the fact that it was parked directly near the office.

Lovely.
