Pros: The breakfast was amazing and location to the town excellent, Rooms extremely clean , comfortable and large. Very good hosts as well.
Cons: The only negative was the noise of people in the above room walking in the floorboards, very loud late at night and early in the morning, ask for a room on the top floor !!!! I understand its an old house so little can be done about this.

7.1 Good
Pros: Lovely view, bed was comfy and the host provided access to their kitchen and provided a very wam welcome.
Cons: Couldn't open the windows in the bedroom, lacking fresh air and breeze to come in - there ws a sunlight /Velux windows on the roof however it was raining so couldn't open them. The room is looking tired and dated. The smell of pets in the kitchen wasn't for me - didn't realise before booking that there are cats and dogs in the property. Since we are both allergic to pets, this wasn't the right place to stay for us.
7.1 Good

Cons: It would have been good to see out of and open the main window in the bedroom. Decor was also somewhat tasteless.

Pros: The saty at this property is the top highlight of our trip in UK. The property is just amazingly fantastic! The outlook of the the property is very beautiful, the layout, decorations and atmosphere inside are gorgeous! The breakfast is served in order style and they cook high level food. I strongly recommend the afternoon tea here. The time we spent here is really unforgetable. Can't wait for the next stay! Thank you very, very much!
Cons: Nothing!!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: very good breakfast, excellent service
Cons: nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Adequate breakfast. Enough food and cooked well. However they used to serve eggs from their own ducks, chickens etc. They are not doing that anymore? They used to be on the menu. The staff were very friendly and helpful as usual. Nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: At breakfast I like marmalade or Jam with my toast. All that was on offer for my stay was lava bread and lime preserve, and yes its as bad as its sounds. A 'Marmite' taste. You either like it or hate it. But some Jam or marmalade is not too much to ask is it? Even if its not 'locally sourced'. I did ask each day but nothing else available. The room cleaners sign. The notice you can hang on the door either says (not the exact wording) do not disturb or "Out for the Day" (actual wording). As I went out I put the "out for the day" on my door, my friend did the same. When we got back in the Late afternoon the room had not been touched. When I left the cleaner was busy next door, I had a chat to her before we went out. I had to ring housekeeping to do the rooms. Which she did straight away. Apparently when the "Out for the Day" is put up it does not mean "room ready for cleaning" It literally means (according to the cleaner) we are "out for the DAY" so the evening staff can clean the rooms when they are ready to do it. Do not like that idea. The kettle looks excellent but is quite heavy. You have to uncoil the mains lead from under the kettle then try and find somewhere in the room to plug it in. Usually on the floor. There was no milk. You had to contact reception who provided a great little milk bottle of milk for your tea etc. However there was also no where cold to store this or anything else. On the first day we had a treat of flap Jacks in a Kilner jar to enjoy. After that we did not get any more. No note pad in the note pad holder, apparently had run out. The exterior windows were dirty in our rooms. Only minor niggly things.

Cons: Breakfast was very basic. Coffee/tea, package croissants and cereal/ toast. Lots of it, and staff kept the area clean and well stocked but I would love a hot option. It’s included in the price so that’s good value.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly & helpful staff. Excellent cooked breakfast and good food in the evening.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The lady that checked us in and served us both dinner and breakfast was so welcoming. My son is three and she spent time getting to know him and chatted to him over breakfast and really made his day! Nearly two weeks on and he’s still talking about the ‘lady’s house in the Brecon Beacons!’ The food served in the evening was lovely - I had a pizza and was expecting it to be bland and boring like a lot of more commercial places, but it was honestly the best pizza I’ve ever had. The sausages were good quality too and the overall atmosphere was really friendly. Lots of toys for family use. Little touches like the toys in the pub and chocolates in the room really made it worth it. We will definitely be back.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.

Pros: Perfect location for our trip to climb Pen Y Fan, a short drive into Brecon which had everything we needed. An excellent choice for breakfast and we were made to feel very welcome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a brilliant stay. We arrived a little late for our dinner booking, but our hosts were completely relaxed about this, gave us a very warm welcome, and were friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. Our tasty dinner was just what we needed having been on the road all day from Kent. We had two rooms (1 double, 1 twin) that were adjoining which was perfect for our family of four. Our kids remarked on how comfortable the beds were. The breakfast was excellent, with a good range of cereals, fruit, cheese, juices etc, and our choice of a cooked breakfast (which was also vegetarian-friendly!). The Plough and Harrow is also perfectly positioned, since you are only about 10 minutes' drive from Brecon. We will definitely be back.

Cons: The bed was old and creaky but was still relatively comfortable
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were nice & clean, excellent food. Staff friendly & helpful
Cons: The room was awful. One small window high up which meant very little natural light & no view at all. Totally depressing!!! No wardrobe to hang your clothes. Bathroom downstairs to the bedroom which meant waking other person up when going to loo, as you needed a light on to get down the stairs. No full length mirror. Unable to sit at dressing table, drawers got in the way of the chair.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, especially the lovely Romanian lady at breakfast who was so friendly. The property is in a beautiful location with only the sound of sheep around! The room was huge and the bed huge breakfast was lovely, so many options. Perfect location for hiking.
Cons: Water pressure in room 202 was very low and took about 10 mins for shower to heat up. But to be expected in older properties but did let the room down. Also we could hear people in room above walking around.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was very comfortable, bathroom newly refurbished and modern. Great location.
Cons: Poor breakfast sausages. Not keen on the "shabby chic" look to the bedroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room, cheerful breakfast room, very friendly and helpful staff.
7.9 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Good size and easy parking, well located both for centre of Brecon and to access the National Park by car. Clean. Tea and coffee facilities in room.
Cons: Some improvement is needed: Beds, especially pillows, not comfortable. Better pillows would help a lot and this is not expensive. Breakfast disappointing: Not best quality, eggs not cooked as requested (undercooked), hash browns too greasy, very weak coffee, jam etc in little plastic pots creating a lot of plastic waste, unacceptable in 2019. I agree with a previous reviewer, TV in our room in a position making it uncomfortable to watch, which was a shame when we had heavy rain in the evening. I expected shampoo etc in room. Only hand liquid soap provided. If I were going to Brecon again I would explore other options for accommodation, though I am not saying I would definitely not stay there again. Another thing to add: if you go out for dinner avoid the Indian restaurant, Zeera. We went there and it was very poor indeed, despite mixed reviews, some positive on tripadvisor. The Castle restaurant was very good, and not expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Owners, Francesca and Ian were the perfect host's. Breakfast was very good, bed very comfy. Hope they continue to prosper.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, clean rooms and decent breakfast

7.5 Good
Pros: Very well located, friendly staff, clean place, good breakfast.
Cons: The room was advertised with private bathroom, which it was, but didn't mention that the bathroom was outside the room. Was quite a pain to go back and fourth between the two, expecially in the night, not wanting to disturb other customers and my girlfriend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We cannot fault our experience at Old Radnor Barn. Steven and Lynne were lovely hosts and made us and our children feel very welcome. The breakfasts were delicious and they were so accommodating with any request we put in. Lynne also noticed items we preferred and made little changes without being asked. The family room was an adequate size with plenty of wardrobe space. We were there on a few very hot days and they provided us with a fan in our room to help cool it down. The garden is beautiful and we enjoyed having our breakfast outside on a couple of days. The kids explored the garden, creating a fairy garden and feeding the chickens, which was no bother at all to our hosts. The rooms, bathroom and lounge/dining area were spotlessly clean and there were leaflets on local activities/excursions in the hallway. The location was perfect as it was a 2 minute walk to the village centre where there are a few options for places to eat and a lovely stream where the kids could dip their feet. It was ideally located for visits to Brecon, Abergavenny and further afield. The kids are already asking when we can go back and visit Steven and Lynne, as if they were family that we popped in to see. Thankyou so much.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Steve and Lynne were really lovely and accommodating, absolutely got the right balance between giving us space and being there when we needed it! Rooms were a nice size and had everything we needed including tea/coffee facilities! Lovely little garden out the front to relax in on an evening. 9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room was very comfy and the pub is in a great location. Gent who saw us to our room and the lady who checked on us were very nice.
Cons: The vibe of the pub and quality of food was very ordinary. I guess what you would expect from a chain group
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and was in a quiet area.
Cons: The air conditioning was not working, when you put it on it's fine but after 15 minutes it switched itself off and flashed a code. I did tell the staff who had a look and said it was controlled centrally but didn't go up to the room to check. It was extremely warm because of the weather so that didn't help. Also there was no hotel parking, there was a short stay behind, however if you're going to a wedding and will not be back all day it's very inconvenient.
8.3 Excellent

6.3 Good

Pros: Lush breakfast in lovely dining room with fab views.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast very was very good and had a relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: We had no hot water when we arrived .
6.3 Good
Cons: Tv hanging off the wall; litter from previous guests; odd decor that lacked style; dirty stained toilet; plastic covered soap and shampoo etc.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location, easy access to town.
Cons: room was in barn conversion smelled of damp as if it had not been occupied for a while. The bed room was a loft conversion and the sloping ceiling is an issue for a tall person. The breakfast was ok - nothing to shout about. My memories of the Castle hotel from a previous visit over 20 years ago (brilliant at that time) were unfortunately tainted.
7.5 Good
Pros: With a couple of exceptions the staff were very friendly
Cons: The standard of decoration in the bedroom, also the inability to provide a snack e.g. a sandwich or such after 6p.m.
6.3 Good
Pros: A comfortable bed, friendly and efficient staff, poached eggs at breakfast, some dishes at dinner.
Cons: Small room (only a standard room was available), only one not very comfortable chair, badly cracked plaster board ceiling above the bed, sash window which had to be propped open. Fruit salad at breakfast mainly tasteless apple, very dry fish pie at dinner.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was amazing! From the woman at the front desk to the Sicilian man in restaurant, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Food and location were great too. Highly recommend!

Pros: Shaun and all the staff were very friendly, professional and made us both most welcome. Our room overlooked the main street and square as we had asked and was very comfortable. Excellent bar service and a good breakfast served until 10:30 on the weekends added up to a great stay, Thanks everyone.
Cons: Nothing really, it was a most enjoyable stay
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Facilities, location, restaurant very good.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location is great, the rooms are nice and spacious. Parking could be a bit of an issue, but there is a long stay car park a short walk away. Cooked breakfast is delicious!
Cons: The staff seemed to change their minds about what is and isn't included with your pre-paid breakfast - hot chocolate was ok for the first 2 breakfasts, but off-limits on the last day. Coffee is included but not if you want decaf etc.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were brilliant.
Cons: Hard to find fault.
5.4 Okay
Cons: Bathroom needed attention shelf hanging off the wall under mirror Toilet was awful to use
6.7 Good

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice stay, really nice people. Good food and really lovely big breakfast included in the accom cost. Great parking, free. Good wifi access.
Cons: Bar area looks a bit tired.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Needs renevationg urgently.
Cons: The dust on the curtains and on the bed head, very old carpets and bathroom tiles were very old and the bed wasn't vey comfortable. This is a very old building. However, the staff were lovely.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were brilliant.. So nice and welcoming. They went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Would definitely recommend
5.8 Okay
Pros: The staff were lovely and very helpful.
Cons: The bathroom was dirty! Pink around the bath that I’m sure a bit of bleach would have got clean. The rooms were tiny!! It was not worth £90 and I wouldn’t stay there again!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great, central location. Some great veggie food! Nice beers. Clear that the relatively new management team are trying hard to really improve the offering here...
Cons: I thought I'd ordered an en suite room but may have been mistaken. Noise proofing between rooms a little minimal. Could have done with darker / blackout curtains, as the pub sign was lit daylight white right outside my window...
5.0 Okay
Pros: The room itself was satisfactory and clean - this was despite having to share a bathroom ( unexpectedly) and the lighting not wired in. A good location however near the centre of Brecon. Breakfast was freshly cooked but coffee was instant .
Cons: The room was overlooking a busy road- so woken by traffic and was above a rather dingy pub which smelt of stale beer . Shared bathroom and lighting for bedside lights not wired in . It all felt run down !
4.6 Okay
Pros: Clean bed linen and towels, great location. You can leave your luggage before you check in.
Cons: Run down, everything is falling apart, broken bed, filthy, pubic hairs in the bathroom, unhappy staff. Very overpriced for what you get.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The very Frendly staff (Billy) when I arrived, prompt breakfast.
Cons: Mould in the bathroom, rotting and dirty windows, three spiders in the bedroom, thin walls (could hear the movements of the visitor next door). The pub light right outside my window meant light in the bedroom (nr3) until the early hours. No food after 4pm Sunday or on Monday! Room door left on the latch (by the cleaner?) whilst I was out 3 hrs, nothing taken though. My room up two steep stairways
6.3 Good
Pros: Functional hotel but good value for the money.
Cons: Had a dodgy vibe to it bedroom doors looked like they had been levered open at some time.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Bar
Cons: Nothing
