Decent at best
I like the room size and location. Plus the room itself was very clean and organized. I felt veey comfortable in the room and would have enjoyed an extended stay in the room if needed.
There was no way to order films on the TV. Really annoying for me. And the lobby area was very small and looked a bit old and unkempt. It was very unappealing so when I actually went inside the room I was surprised. plus there were kids running around making noice and extremely load.
Convenient and close to subway and Long Island Rail Road Hub.
The wiFi was weak and inconsistent. The tv signal was constantly freezing and skipping during the Giant game.
Close to Metro
One elevator, No bath towels, limited toiletries, no soap, no shampoo. No easy chairs in room.. Poor value/
Worst experience I've ever had.
The hotel is within walking distance from the subway and there is a great BBQ place across the street.
I booked a room for August 19-20th. When I arrived, I was issued room 301. When I entered the room there was an overwhelming marijuana odor, and a towel was wrapped around the sprinkler system. When I reported this to the supervisor on duty( Janelle) she asked me if I'd like a room change, to which I agrees to and was moved to room 913. When I entered room 913 it was very warm, I checked the thermostat and it read 78 degrees. I addressed this issue with Janelle and her response was as follows "Sir, the air conditioner in that room is working fine because there were people in it before you" I replied that it was uncomfortably hot in the room, and I was unable to sleep in that heat. She said " I have other customers who are checking in to worry about, we can't just switch your room because you think it's hot. I will send someone up to check on the air conditioner" She sent up a maintenance worker, who told me that he felt it was cool in the room because he "just ran up 9 flights of stairs, and he felt just fine" This is outrageous and unacceptable customer servIce. I was put into a room with a fire hazard, and moved to a room with no AC only to be told I didn't know what the temperature was and that there were other customers to worry about.
I was not comfort.
The elevator was out of service. I booked online but they charge me twice and charge me for car parking 50$
Cramped rooms, run-down neighborhood
It was close to a subway station, and the staff were friendly. The AC in the room worked well, and the shower had good pressure and hot water. Breakfast was very good, and they had a respectable biscuits and gravy.
Very tiny room, even the mattresses felt like they weren't even full sized. No closet at all, just a tiny wardrobe that was already half filled with the iron and board. One of the phones didn't work. The room-darkening curtains did not close all the way. No luggage rack, so we had to stack our suitcases on the desk and chair. There was also no mini-fridge, but honestly where would they have put it, under the sink? The door wouldn't close tightly and did not feel very secure. The elevator was incredibly slow.
Inconsiderate
I had mistakenly made my reservation for the next day.
One of the front desk employee was exceptionally rude. Instead of attempting to help like the other front desk employee was doing, he dismissed me with no further assistance. I had a phone charger and my phone had died, he would not help me charge it. I wanted to us my phone to find a different hotel that I could stay at. I was inebriated, but your employee is not a health care professional to make that accusation.
A good deal for the price if your willing to explo
This is a no frills, only the basics hotel but with the clean and comfortable furnishings that you expect from a Holiday Inn. Plus its at half the cost of the Manhattan Hotels. On the fringe of the Brooklyn Brownstones, it's right by the R,N & D subway line which will all take you right into Manhattan and one stop away from Atlantic avenue for transfer to most lines and the LIRR. There are a couple food places across the street, Dinosaur BBQ being the best of your choices. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel that is clean and comfortable and are willing to navigate the subway its perfect. If you are hoping to be a couple blocks from the action and take a quick cab to times square then your looking in the wrong place. But if thats what you want you will pay twice as much for that.
Again, no frills, do have a free breakfast with eggs, cereal, juice, fruit ,muffins but you're not going to see a gym, or pool, or bar in here. You come, you check in, and then you go out to explore! If you don't like that, then again this is probably not for you. Also, other than for your luggage, take the stairs. Only one elevator and its kind of slow. But again this is NYC, if you can't take the stairs ,you're not going to get very far in the city!
