6.7 Good
Pros: Good location, very beautiful hotel. Lovely people working there. Breakfast and all other food was as good as in a good restaurant.
Cons: The moment we entered out room we noticed dirty bathrobes (see the picture). We had to call 3 times the reception and wait the whole day to get them changed. 6 hours waiting seems to much for a luxury hotel.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: When I arrived and after the price was blocked in my credit card I was informed that the Spa (main reason of my choice for that hotel) was closed for maintenance reasons. Three days before the web of the hotel adviced that closing but starting on 3 March (The day after my departure). In addition my wife missed something valued for her in the room and it was not recovered by the cleaning staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at this hotel is fantastic. Everyone I interacted with-front desk, concierge, servers/bartenders in the lounge and breakfast restaurant, was attentive and clearly concerned about whether or not I was enjoying my stay. The location was perfect.
Cons: Like many European hotels in an older building, the thermostat in the room was a bit tricky. I moved to a downgraded room, just to have a window that opened so I could better control the room temperature. The staff was fantastic in coordinating my move.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location. It was a 20 minute walk to the river, or a 5 minute metro ride. Lots of restaurants within a 15 minute walk. The rooms, especially the bathroom was lavishly appointed. The bed and the pillows were exceptionally comfortable.
Cons: I was disappointed to hear that the pool was an extra $15 euros per day to use. I was unpleasantly surprised on my return to see an extra charge of over $200 to my Visa. I have emailed the hotel twice asking for an explanation, so far no response.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is a dream come true. Everything was excellent: the customer service second to none, exceptional accommodations, fantastic location, very, very clean , historical hotel but having the most modern and updated features of technology.
Cons: N/A
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old hotel. Very friendly staff. Great location.
Cons: No complaints.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice athmosphere, friendly stuff , beautiful christmas decoration, good breakfast, easy parking nice pool.
Cons: Parking is a lil bit expensive compared with other hotels. On the first look, rooms look really nice, but it is easy to see in some corners minor reparations could be necessary. I would say, a better technical maintenance would keep rooms looking newer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is centrally located. The rooms were very nice and the personnel very helpful and friendly. Great spa facilities.
Cons: No.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The in-room dining Hotel employee was amazing); excellent food. Nice location. Cool souvenir shop. Business center (other hotel employee was helpful).
Cons: Ladies at the reception (checking in/out) were not very friendly. No smile, no greetings, short answer and didn't seem to like their job. I was afraid to ask them any questions. However, all other staff members were cordial and helpful.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We didn't go to the breakfast buffet - it was expensive and we could not just have a coffee and bowl of porridge without paying for the whole buffet. A small café not far away, called Early Bird Coffee, did an excellent breakfast in a charming atmosphere.
Cons: A more flexible menu for breakfast would have been appreciated
1.0 Poor
Pros: The main area beautiful and spa great. Be sure eat at Caviar and Bull it was wonderful,
Cons: Rooms were horrible and AC dud not work.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hotel. We ordered a superior room without a breakfast, so I can't review the food but we arrived and was immediately upgraded to a deluxe room, which was bigger and more comfortable
Cons: There was a problem with the air conditioning, which didn't make the room cold enough so for the first two days we felt really hot, but the staff did everything they can to help us and eventually arranged a fan for us which was very helpful.

6.0 Good
Pros: We were happy about the location of the hotel and the appartment placemet. we also liked the option of private parking
Cons: - poor breakfast - not a lot of choices - horrible smell in the bathroom - balcony door didnt close 100% - not really as clean as a hotel should be
8.0 Excellent
Pros: One-year-old hotel that's trying really hard. Great value for money. It seems a bit out-of-the-way on the map but it's a three minute walk to the closest Metro Station and from there 3 to 5 stops to do all that you need to see in central Budapest. The rooms are quite spacious for a budget hotel but the bed configuration is a bit unusual for a large single beds head to toe. Rooms have a microwave fridge and safe with Apple closet space and even a bookshelf. I'm not mistaken the rooms away from the road all have a balcony. Wi-Fi is fast and TV channel selection has 3 to 4 new stations in English, at least one station in French, German, Italian, along with regular stations in Hungarian. I think they're still learning how to do breakfast and some things tend to run out if you don't get there early but it wouldn't stop me staying there again.
Cons: They are expanding hotel and you do you hear some construction in the morning and this is likely to continue for at least another six months from June 2017, I would guess. We're not a lot of other places to eat in the area but again you're only two or three minutes away from the metro stop by Budapest central line.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was nice. Rooms were clean and comfy. The hotel was very well designed. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was nice and welcoming. Location was very good, central.
Cons: Only that we had to go out of the hotel and enter it from another entrance to go to breakfast.
7.0 Good
Pros: Cleaning very often our room. Shampoo and clean towels. Kitchen microwave, boiler, nescafe included. Breakfast was good.
7.1 Good
Pros: Perfect location close to metro, easy parking, fast wifi, nice personnel, spacious convenient lobby
Cons: Bad smell coming from the bathroom, equipment in rather bad condition (lack of maintenance), breakfast offer limited after 9. am
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Location not far away from the historical city center.
Cons: Even though the hotel has 4 stars and was recently renovated, many things are done in a sloppy way with a wrong attitude. Major minuses noticed: dusty shelves, not bolted down table/fridge legs, cheap materials of the furniture in general, poorly arranged breakfast and ill-trained staff in the restaurant which is designed without understanding any service processes. Considering the amount of money this hotel charges we were really disappointed with our stay. Feels like a 2-3 star place with a logo promising you 5. Not recommended.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a good hotel for what we were after, simple rooms and the breakfast was nice
Cons: The rooms were a bit outdated

Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful from the front desk to restaurant..our room was very clean, staff very profesional. Breakfast buffet had plenty of options..good price. We will definitely stay there again if we go back. The location is the best.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed because of an event and it was lovely to see how nice and kind the staff is! Checking in was such a nice experience. When entering the room I could not have a better space for relaxation. The bathroom was fantastic, the room was big and really comfy.
Cons: The only thing that put a little negative feeling was the view. I was expecting a bit more when I booked the room facing the river. It was actually facing another house &parking area. So out of 10 I would give 9,5.

Pros: The entire staff was amazing!!! The reception desk was a delightful experience. The two staff members that checked me in were so warm and thoughtful about making sure I was prepared for the sites of Budapest. Hotel employee was especially time g
Cons: It seemed the cleaning staff missed some things in the bathroom my first day, but small things like leftover soap from previous guests... no big deal to me. Other than that hotel was best I’ve ever stayed in!
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Location is very good, restaurants in the hotel are expensive but great (it has NOBU and others), the rooms are good, we got an upgrade and the room was great.
Cons: Nothing, everything was above average, the staff is above average, the normal room is small, we got an upgrade and the other room was above average.

Pros: Nicely furnished and spacious room.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location. Very attentive and professional staff. A great value for the cost.. Budapest is now one of my favorite cities in Europe. Clean, beautiful and exciting night life!
Cons: Everything was perfect
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location
Cons: I was expecting the same level as the Kempinski hotel in Berchtesgaden, but defined it is not the case. The building is old, noisy. You hear noise of doors opening and closing the whole day, and the noise from the street is loud. It seemed my bed was in the middle of the street. The pool is small.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location is amazing....very central. Service is great too...staff are pleasant and helpful. Parking tho a bit expensive at Euro 30/day is convenient and close so you can actually use your car.
Cons: We were informed, on check in, that some renovation work was still in progress but it wasn't that noticeable....perhaps because it was the weekend. What was noticeable was that the main tap in the bathroom was rusty and the shower head in the standing shower area was actually broken and leaking. I asked if the room was still be to renovated and was told that it had already undergone 'soft renovation'. In any case, I did not expect this. The amenities were lacking too...no mouthwash. Room, tho on 3rd floor, was not well insulated - loud music from outside could be heard until at least midnight
7.0 Good
Pros: The location was amazing. Couldn't ask for more. The staff was very friendly and the overall stay was very nice.
Cons: I expected a more luxurious and renovated room, and a much bigger pool (which is very small).

Pros: View. Parikng on site.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and surprise bonus of being the "guests of the day" with extra special treatment. Awesome experience and stay! Definitely would stay again.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of hotel was great. The staff were all very polite, friendly and helpful. The room was spotless, the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely with great facilities and toiletries.
Cons: The breakfast was just alright and overpriced. There are just too many much cheaper and better alternatives elsewhere in Budapest.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are first class. Breakfast very good as well.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location is best thing about this hotel.
Cons: The housekeeping was awful. The room was not cleaned properly everyday we were there. I complained about this on our last night and the housekeeping manager looked embarrassed and offered us a free transfer to the airport. We had booked the prestige suite which is the top suite and the facilities in the room were not great. One of the sockets was not working, there was no dressing table with a mirror where my wife could get ready, instead she had to do her makeup in the bathroom or sit on the floor in the hallway. There would only be one English breakfast teabag in the room per day even though there were two of us. The bed was not comfortable and I would wake up in the mornings with a backache. I have stayed in many hotel suites around the world and this is by far the worst for the money we paid. I would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel.

Staff were super helpful, polite and friendly without being overbearing. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful hotel, fabulous big room with thick carpet, huge bathroom, very comfortable bed, luxurious linens. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful during a very difficult time as the Covid-19 escalated and we had to cancel the rest of our trip and return home. The breakfast in The New York cafe was superb the first two days, then reduced to a smaller room on a smaller scale which was still brilliant, better than most hotels. The staff carried on professionally and cheerfully under difficult circumstances, especially Lilla on the front desk who helped us with many arrangements.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff at concierge and reception were exceptionally helpful and friendly during this unprecedented period. Actual building was stunning and room we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to was beautiful with comfortable bed, huge bathroom and plenty of wardrobe space. Spa was very nice as we had it all to ourselves! Unfortunately unable to sample the bar facilities so can't comment there.
Cons: Unfortunately arrived at the start of the restrictions due to Covid-19 so our stay was somewhat not as planned to say the least. Nothing to do with the hotel who just followed the Government edict. Only negative that we have is that there was quite a lot of road noise from our room.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The lobby is magnificent, the room was lovely. It's about 15 min from the "center" IE the chain bridge. Pieter the concierge is wonderful and very helpful. The food is hit or miss, I enjoyed the goulash and parsely spaetzle. Most of the desserts were too sweet.
4.0 Okay
Cons: On a trip to several countries, the Boscolo staff was definitely the least friendly of all the hotels we stayed at. I'm not sure if it was because we were younger than their typical crowd splurging on a nice hotel or what but they seemed like the couldn't care less that we were there. They were not very helpful, and two employees confirmed that we had prepaid for breakfast then the host at the breakfast buffet informed us after we ate that it was not included and presented us with a bill. The hotel did nothing to attempt to explain why this had happened.

Pros: Great location, comfortable rooms, excellent staff
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel, first class.
Cons: Price should include pool use and some breakfast.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel. Staff arranged for a complimentary bottle of champagne to be delivered to our room to celebrate my friends 30th birthday which was a lovely touch. Nice spa area for when the weather isn’t great outside. The location was perfect for us. Very close to tourist spots and felt very safe.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The smell in the lobby was like heaven, Mostly everything was really nice, would be nice to have roof top bar though.
Cons: The room was a little warm like the heat of 100,000 burning candles or two suns and the air con didn't seem to work. (Was a little to noisy at night time to have the window open)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the hotel. Our room was great and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good. All staff and cleaners were friendly and helpful. The Continental is ideally located, within easy reach of restaurants and bars. There is a Tesco and Spa minutes away.
Cons: I can't think of anything I didn't like.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The under - the roof pool, and the lobby are amazing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good value for money. Excellent location and amazing staff. Massage was also very good. Breakfast was ok.
Cons: The spa is really tiny. Don't bother going during peak times. It's impossible to enjoy and gets disgustingly noisy and crowded. It's only worth trying off peak.

Pros: I liked everything , it was very good bur the sofas was not comfortable so I would recommend new sofa :) The staff was amazing and the room and all the hotel was very clean and nice. Thank you
Cons: Better sofas
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything else was like all the other times we were there: Amaizing !!!
Cons: No slippers in the room
9.0 Excellent
Pros: not close as walking distance to popular tourist attraction places, but there are many places to spend time at night like bars, pubs and restaurants, also plenty of shopping places and pizza takeaways. The rooms are large and has the kitchen option, you can cook your meal. Room is cleaned every day by staff, trash is taken out and new towels are brought in. There is a coffee machine at the lobby, free of charge. Internet connection was flowless. Staff was always helpful, they always responded to our requests with pleasure.
Cons: the windows does not insulate sound, the street sound inside the room is annoying. Also cold weather gets in from these gaps, this is not an issue with the heater on, though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I went for a conference, so I could not spend much time in the room. The hotel is very well located. Easy access to public transport and cabs. I would recommend this hotel for a romantic weekend in Budapest.
6.3 Good
Pros: Staff was great
Cons: Upsell for very late checkout exceeded cost of entire night. Will never return based on this alone. Rooms shiwing age and could have been cleaner. Too bad because the staff is very friendly and helpful.
4.8 Okay
Cons: This hotel was offered as a 5* ranked hotel. There is a Boscolo Hotel but this was only an apartment building behind the hotel!!!! NO STAR Rating at all. How the hell can be offered an apartment complex as a 5* hotel???? As i arrived the front desk told me i have NO booking in the Hotel, i have a booking in the apartment complex one block further. As i asked the guy at the front desk he sad they have NO star ranking cause its an apartment complex. This is scam!

8.0 Excellent
7.0 Good
Pros: El frigobar
Cons: El personal de recepción no es muy simpático...cuando le pedíamos información turística nos daban un sobre lleno de folletos de excursiones..
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice location with easy access to the City Center. Classy attention
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good in challenging times but personnel all very good (like other Danubius properties one has stayed at recently), upgraded my room, wifi good, room service good and breakfast too, plus (located near Keleti Station) so easy walk downtown; all for good price.
Cons: Only suggestion, maybe a movie channel in the tv package.
7.0 Good
Pros: Quietness, location, as it's very near the train and metro stations. Some nice hotels and restaurants are around the corner as well.
Cons: I didnt like the treatment of staff at first. But after a day or two they were behaving like professionals. They are not really very friendly but may be with people who are their country men.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location and the morning bread.
Cons: Rooms was not clean. Should have a rebuilding
6.0 Good
Pros: breakfast was good
Cons: needed help with suitcase had a doorman just watched me didn't even open door ! busy hotel staff could help more needs a face lift painting etc rooms are clean English is poor all in all could do so much better with some staff training
3.4 Mediocre
Pros: Staff was professional and nice
Cons: Hotel smelled like mold. Rooms are outdated and the bed was a prison cot. This is not a 4 star hotel. Best 2 stars at best. Lots of noise, as rooms are high ceiling.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: It is cheap and close to the subway
Cons: It is ridiculous when the hotel sheets can’t fit their own bed. I literally had to use 2 different sheets and blankets. One for my feet and one for my upper body. SO SMALL! And they did not have bigger ones. So don’t stay there please.
1.0 Poor
Cons: No cooperation at all from staff, not even answering my email
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great and I felt safe. Water pressure for the shower was great. Doorman and front desk was polite.
Cons: This is NOT a 4 star hotel. It's not bad but definitely not 4 star standards. Flimsy cheap shower curtain resulted in whole bathroom floor soaked everytime. The bath products are cheap quality like from a motel.English a bit of a challenge. No breakfast.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Close to train station
Cons: Had a terrible experience here. Their standards of cleanliness are below par, had to tell them to vacuum, often found dirty glasses with my lipstick stains placed back,WiFi and breakfast was poor. Bed size small. Rude staff. Would not recommend to anyone.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean looking and pretty, felt fancy. Staff were very friendly and very willing to help and have conversations. Make our visit feel special and drinks were cheap. Thermal bath was a great bonus
Cons: The bed wasn't overly comfy but it was good enough
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent wellness, breakfast and taxi service
7.0 Good
Pros: The SPA is great. The lobby bar has good beer and good food. The overall atmosphere in the hotel is quite nice. Good quality price ratio.
Cons: They didn't have any hotel guide in the room, so I had to guess and try for 5 minutes various numbers to call the reception. I asked them to put one and they never did. The water tap in the bathroom was defected and didn't work properly, the towels/robe hook was "stolen" from the bathroom. But the worst was the coffee - the coffee in the morning is absolutely terrible, not to mention the watery so called "juices" for breakfast and the breakfast itself - if you stay more than 3 days you won't be able to enjoy it anymore.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room was nice but outdated. The staff were really friendly and helpful. There is not much to see around the hotel, but at least it has a decent bar where you can have a nightcap. They have thermal baths which is nice.
Cons: The room was nice but showed signs of its age. There were mouldy spots on the bathroom sealant. The Spa was in the process of being refurbished and we were notified in advance that it would re-open the day after our arrival, but the jacuzzi and sauna were still out of service so all we had access to were the thermal baths and steam room. Overall it wasn't terrible, but it was disappointing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The venue and its location
Cons: AC was not working. It was very hot in the room.
3.7 Mediocre
Pros: Bed not comfortable. Service ok. Outdated rooms and towels. If you are coming with the car its $11/day. Not coming back
7.0 Good
Pros: Facilities were lovely and the staff were polite.
Cons: Quite far from the city.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent spa facilities.
Cons: Had to ask to have tea and coffee and kettle in room, then only 2 per day.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment we had for five days was absolutely well spaced and comfy. We were three adults and two kids so It gave everyone a space of their own. The aqua world and thermal spas and saunas and even the spa treatments were all wonderful. No restrictions for all ages - which is great for parents, we are more relaxed in our minds about our children in a thermal spa area. The food at the restaurant was lovely, buffet and even better the a la carte, not many options but however I would say Michelin star food quality and taste! We loved the whole property, the fun and relaxation concept for all - old and young. Plus all the spa treatments we did were very very good!
Cons: The only downside was that if we wanted to chill at the apartment, and put on a bit to television for the children or even us to watch something, there weren’t English Channel options. There was only one news option channel in English. There was no option of changing language to English on the television. The other thing was that from the hotel to the hyper-supermarket was a 15 minute walk which is really convenient however, it meant us crossing roads with on going traffic and in rainy cold weather which doesn’t permit us to walk in a clear passage towards the supermarket. So some days we tried calling taxis, some times they would come other times they wouldn’t and it was a bit difficult to get back to the hotel. However, the hotel staff were efficient to sort out these issues for us. It was kind of them.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice Hotel located near M0 highway. Nice rooms, modern interior + very good breakfast. Aquapark was not fully checked because of late arrival. If you are looking quiet place maybe it shouldn't be your choice. Otherwise it should be your choice as there is lot of families with small kids. Reception staff friendly and very nice.
Cons: Restaurant and night club are not serving any meals after 10PM (strictly followed we were 22:02 there) so if you get late the only food available are ready made sandwiches or salad which are served from plastic plates (as they are packed). Also very strange policy - no open bills, everything delivered to the table must be paid when served. Night club waiter wasn't that polite.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nothing special, it was clean and spacious room, that’s all. Aquapark not even close to others aquapark in Europe, it’s an old one, that need a refresh!
Cons: - Ultra Overpriced, doesn’t worth it - Poor spa - average restaurant with average food - average and old aquapark
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious hotel, amazing aquapark and spa, attentive service
Cons: -
7.9 Good
Cons: The room was very hot without possibility to fix the sistem! The people from reception wasn’t interested in this problem!

7.0 Good
Pros: Location was great, easily accessible. Good value for money and breakfast was great quality. Beautiful old building.
Cons: There was no mini fridge in room nor coffee making facilities which is normally quite standard. Also TV in room was on the same wall as bed which means you couldn't watch it
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The Location just on the edge of the town on the riverside is excellent. if your expecting the sterile look of a premier inn or other large chain of hotels then don't stay here. The Gellert gives you glimpse of a bygone age. Wood panelling and colourful glass decorate the interior. Yes its a bit frayed around the edges, but then so am I and I am not 100 years old. The service was attentive and helpful and the facilities more than acceptable for its price bracket and rating. Yes you can get a more modern and predictable experience but I consider myself an individual character in life and so the Gellert has individual character. I came to see the city of Budapest and not spend all my time looking under the carpet for hotel faults, so savour its uniqueness, charm, history and enjoy. Thank you for the experience.
Cons: Breakfast was a little to canteen like, but other than that good value for money.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: excellent hotel , very good breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is old but clean and well maintained. Our rooms were large and the bathrooms huge by European standards. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast is great and access is very easy by metro and bus, both right across the street from the hotel. The thermal spas were fantastic and although busy not crowded. Use the spas on the side of the swimming pool, it attracts less visitors. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Will certainly return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were efficient and friendly the building is beautiful and the breakfast is fantastic catering for every dietary preference.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Situation is perfect. Hotel is full of spirit of old times. Breakfast super. Spa is highly recommended.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location
Cons: A lot of noise
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast was really good.
Cons: Hotels need to be renovated . Bed , pillows and everything in the room need to change . Hotel interior in horrible position. Such a beautiful location and what a waste !!!
5.7 Okay
Pros: Decent size room; location near River; restaurant on the ground floor; public transit options
Cons: Very old with signs of deferred maintenance. E.g. The upstairs bathroom leaked and made a mess of our bathroom. The good thing is the hotel staff came right away and fixed the problem. The location of hotel is far from the major tourist attractions as it is on the Buda side of the river. The SPA IS A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT: it reminds me an old hotel swimming pool with freezing cold water.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good value for money. Make sure you know what kind of room you are paying for.
Cons: A bit of faded glory, but I like that very much!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was attentive and pleasant. Breakfast is amazing, huge and many choices which is included in room price. Price was very reasonable. Access to the bath house is so convenient and guests get discounted entry, it's wonderful to walk down in your big terry cloth robe and enjoy the bath house, towels are also provided by the hotel, added perk. Tram is directly across the street and allows access to all directions in the city. Views are stunning of the bridges and river. We were there in November so not crowded at all.
Cons: The furniture in the rooms is shabby chic, looks like the original furniture from 1918. Despite the furniture it's comfortable and the linens are clean and good quality. They could use new pillows, they are down but very flat.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff exceedingly pleasant and helpful. breakfast was fantastic. location is perfect for going places and seeing everything in the city. Even the view of the Danube and Pest from the front of the building is great. The thermal baths are just wonderful.
Cons: I could have used an additional towel since I went to the baths. The bed sagged a bit and was uncomfortable.
