I feel that we were completely scammed by this company. We reserved a "standard SUV" which I have done dozens of times before at other locations and when I arrived I was told sorry but this is only a two wheel drive vehicle and I would need to pay $250 more plus tax to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Since it had just snowed about 2 feet I felt I needed a 4 wheel drive vehicle so I had to pay the additional money. For a few dollars more I could have reserved a Hertz vehicle and I KNOW that they would not have done this. I am aware that this is probably a franchisee but Budget should NOT allow them to do this. Furthermore the vehicle I was given was filthy dirty and they told me I could have it washed and they would pay me back... ALSO the first vehicle they gave me had a crack in the windshield running the entire width of the windshield AND the outside of the side view mirror was completely missingReviewed 3 Mar. 2022

Cons:We were charged an extra $100 for being half an hour early to pick up the car. The car smelled like cigarette smoke and Febreeze. The maintenance light was on with a dashboard message that said "maintenance required". We told the lady at the counter and requested a different car and her response was, "That's just for the oil change, you'll be fine. That's the only car you can take."Reviewed 7 Jul. 2021

Pros:Staff was mildly friendly at best. we waited in line for over an hour to get our rental. The first rental we received had not been cleaned and smelled terribly of smoke. After returning to the counter we were offered another vehicle without question which was appreciated. Upon further driving of the Toyota we were provided, the breaks were absolute terrible and would cause major vibration when attempting to stop. With driving to Telluride through the mountains, the breaking situation is not ideal by any means.Cons:Vehicles need to be updated and be properly maintained. Also, in that size airport, there needs to be more staff, there is no reason to be forced to wait an hour for a rental at any airport.Reviewed 16 Sep. 2020

Pros:Mechanical condition of the car was the only thing that was good.Cons:The car was extremely dirty but inside and outside, and the associate at the desk said that it was because my flight was late by 4 hours and they were not aware of it. Their reason was that their detailing staff went home (it was still 4pm) because they thought there were no more customers coming!Reviewed 27 Jul. 2019

Pros:The check on agent and lot tech in Montrose were very nice and tried their best to help us.Cons:Car was rated for 5 passengers but only had 4 seat belts. The back middle seat attachment was nowhere to be found by us or the Budget staff. We also had to wait over 30 mins for our car. Both facts are tough to swallow when they are charging $180/day for their car.Reviewed 21 Feb. 2016
