10.0 Excellent
Pros: Favorite place of the nine we stayed in on our holiday!!! Gorgeous accommodations and gardens!! Rooms were spotlessly clean with such comfy beds!! Hosts Claire and Nick are awesome!! Breakfast was a delight both with food and hospitality. My sister enjoyed the sauna. It’s a more rural area of southern England and we absolutely loved it!! A local pub they suggested was a tasty surprise with wood fired pizza, curry, steaks and more!
Cons: EVERY THING met and exceeded our expectations!!!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely situation. A real rural retreat. House has been sympathetically modernised to accommodate guests yet retains plenty of charm. Huge garden at the back plus chickens & goats. Claire is incredibly welcoming and cooks a mean breakfast exactly to your liking on the Aga. The bedroom and en suite are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Terrific shower. And how many people have had a birthday candle as part of their breakfast? Just fabulous.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Drinkstone Park Bed & Breakfast and Gardens in Bury St Edmunds, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Bradfield Woods and Rougham Control Tower Aviation Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfasts are first class, with different takes on some things but all the tradition you could want. The gardens are spectacular and there’s history, too. When my husband became ill Christine and Michael couldn’t have been more kind and helpful.
Cons: The first night coincided with a particularly cold temperature dip and the room was cold but the next day they made sure we were warm from then on.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If possible I would have awarded Caroline and Michael 11 out of 10. Exceeded all expectations. As a female travelling alone for work it can be quite daunting sometimes. Caroline and Michael made me feel part of the family, going that extra distance to ensure that everything was better than you would expect. The log burner was on each time I got back from work and I was greeted with tea, scones and cream. I nearly completed the jigsaw in the lounge and was very tempted to stay an extra night to finish it! Beautiful gardens, excellent breakfast, comfortable room, nothing too much effort for them, dogs friendly. Would I stay again? Of course - and I hope to do so.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hosts and the property were charming - especially the garden which was full of interest. Breakfast was excellent as was advice and help in finding a location for an evening meal.
Cons: I did have a problem climbing into the shower and there was no hand rail for support.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just one word to sum up the whole experience - fabulous.
Cons: Absolutely nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast freshly cooked. Room very well equipped with very comfortable bed and tea & coffee facilities with fresh milk. Beautiful gardens and seating areas.
Cons: I couldn't fault anything about my stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and attractive room - everything beautifully maintained. Lovely hosts.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts and the dogs !
Cons: Nòthing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful garden to unwind in. Amazing breakfast and wonderful hosts.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room/bed - very clean and comfortable with lovely towels, handwash, shampoo etc Offered cup of tea and cake on arrival FRESH milk in mini flask for tea in my room Delicious and imaginative options for breakfast, inc chestnut and mushroom 'burger' - yum! Fabulous 3 acre garden (with hens for fresh eggs)
Cons: Nothing could have been improved by hosts. Location rural and no public transport nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked and very much appreciated the personal touch which both Michael and Christine afford their guests. Their attention to detail is first class. Their friendly manner, local knowledge and helpful maps were most welcome.
Cons: I always find other peoples showers, taps etc a steep learning curve, so perhaps a run through of the facilities would be a good idea.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect, next to the beautiful Abbey gardens, close enough to the main town but just far enough to be peaceful. The rooms were tastefully decorated, were clean and well equipped. The breakfast was wonderful with plenty of choice.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Overall, very roomy with a well equipped comfortable bedroom and a large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. Our room looked out over the car park so it was fairly quiet at night and we slept with the window wide open as it was a warm night. It is very conveniently placed to explore Bury with the Cathedral and park a short walk away and the city centre about 5 mins stroll. Breakfast was good with a wide choice of cold and hot dishes.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Stylish but informal. Excellent healthy breakfasts - cooked and otherwise. Bedroom with lots of charactor. Any criticisms are balanced by plenty of positive experiences.
Cons: I was very happy but some people might find some rooms a little quirky and with, in our case, a rather small bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed here three time. Great Location, Great Hotel, Excellent Breakfast and quiet comfortable room.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent

Tuddenham Mill Luxury Boutique Hotel - Bury St. Edmunds - Bedroom
6
9.1 Excellent (597 reviews)
C$ 267+
Overview Reviews
This 17th-century Suffolk abode is a converted water mill in 12 acres of land, enhanced with a sleek, minimalist restaurant and super-stylish boudoirs with high-spec Starck-fitted ensuites. Tuddenham Mill is somewhere to while away a lazy sunny afternoon playing boules by a swan-studded pond, or cosied up on hand-picked statement furniture in a spacious lounge bar under original exposed beams.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was different, cozy, comfortable and clean in a quiet location. Food and staff were excellent - couldn’t have asked for anything more. We will definitely be returning here.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The property was very attractive with a large millpond in the garden and a grassed area with tables and umbrellas. Breakfast, however, was sparse and missing vital and usual items. No fresh fruit, pastries, croissant or cereal. The cooked part was OK but the chef needs to do more practice on scrambled eggs. The dinner was awful. I don't understand how this restaurant is considered up-market, unless it's the rip-off prices! The duck was tougher than the steak knife my wife had to request and was voluntarily removed from the bill. The lobster was badly cooked and tough as leather, probably several times frozen and served with the wrong accompaniments. It was BARELY edible and missing the claws! A monumental FAILURE all around! We chose to eat at a pub along the road the second night and, although ordinary fare was well cooked and enjoyable.
Cons: The food. The reception and the attempt to palm us off with a sub-standard accommodation. Their disorganization and failure to relocate us to the room they had resulted in us being housed in a "LOFT" which appeared to be their best room which was far from the 'luxury' tag they attach to the hotel's name. Pretentious and lacking air conditioning would be more accurate. Road noise was horrendous all night with large trucks thundering through the village!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building, very comfortable beds and bedding. Never tried ultra glamping but very impressed with the level of comfort and finish of the nooks. Some even had a hot tub!
Cons: Nothing to say here it was all good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff where lovely. We had a table booked for dinner but due to my partner having an allergic reaction to some makeup but the staff brought the menu to our rooms and we had an amazing meal on the terrace with amazing service and genuine helpfulness.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved staying in the pod. A delightful experience.
Cons: An expensive stay. Lovely venue but food disappointing-small portions for the price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Nooks are a very special place to stay! Such a beautiful view. We will visit again.
Cons: Air conditioning would be a welcome addition.
7.5 Good
Pros: Dinner delicious
Cons: Night porter came into our room at 2.20am with two drunken people as they had claimed, incorrectly, that it was the room they had booked. Night porter had not checked before opening our bedroom door and putting the room lights on. We were very alarmed. We are still awaiting a letter of apology.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great place! Almost like a Hobbiton! Fantastic food although servings could be a bit larger.
Cons: Rooms can get quite warm, glad we were not there in the +30 days.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very nice and helpful.
Cons: Only one thing I would like to add is that I think a property of this standard should supply face cloths
8.0 Excellent
Cons: The room was described as a double room with terrace... and internal / external pictures were shown of rooms in the main buildings. The room we actually got was a wooden pod - with wooden decking - in the grounds of the hotel. Although it was a good standard - apart from limited headroom - you really need to be clearer with customers that you’re not getting a night in a hotel when you’re actually getting a night glamping!

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Modern, clean and good location.
Cons: Our room was very hot but the weather was warm so this may have been the reason.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely modern hotel with large rooms.

Pros: The breakfast was great (including warm pastries!) although disappointing the cooked breakfast didn’t include baked beans. The staff were friendly, rooms clean and pool, jacuzzi, etc was a lovely touch. Not too busy and spacious.
Cons: There was a wedding on which meant we had to walk outside in our robes to get to the swimming area. Not the most ideal! Also the spa was closed on Sunday when we wanted some treatments.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location. The Spa. The golf. The friendly staff. The good sized rooms and plenty of space to sit and have coffee and chat. Especially if good weather.
Cons: The hard pillows. The food can bit hit and miss sometimes excellent other times not so good
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location. The rooms were all a good size. The staff were very helpful if overworked at times. Nice lounge area. Good parking and Spa. The men enjoyed their golf. Good value for a 3 star.
Cons: The pillows were hard. The meals were hit and miss sometimes excellent others poor.
7.0 Good
Pros: Very good reception/ check in welcome late eve/ swift effective service and help to my room. very clean hotel. very comfortable bed with nice cotton sheets. breakfast was good but -the coffee was terrible!! I got a pot of watery, sour, poor quality filter coffee ( a the thing of the past). a hotel of this caliber needs to serve as standard decent, delicious coffee, in its many different , normal combo's/ ways most other places so these days.
Cons: Internal, windowless bathroom with cheap shower curtain rather than proper glass screen clung to me when i was trying to shower. Awful coffee at breakfast.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The food at dinner and breakfast was fantastic! Very quick service and super tasty!
Cons: My room was a bit stuffy. And there was a big spider in my room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was well Kept and clean staff were excellent

7.0 Good
Pros: Bedroom and bathroom were both large, comfortable and to a high standard
Cons: Layout of hotel entrance not good , entrance hall flanked by restaurant and bar giving the impression I was walking into a pub.. reception to the rear and poorly signposted in fact I had to confirm that reception was exactly that and not some sort of hot desk. Breakfast very average and not worth the money.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Best English breakfast I have had in a long time .
Cons: Bar staff more interested in setting up than serving customers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location in the centre of town. The bed was very comfortable and the quality of the bedding excellent.
Cons: Didn't eat in the restaurant as we felt that the tables were extremely close to each other.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the decor and ambience of the breakfast room and the continental breakfast was one of the best we've ever had. Fresh produce, good choice and great service.
Cons: Struggle to find fault, but air con in the bar would have been a bonus as we visited during the heatwave. That said, no-one could have predicted such unusual weather conditions!

Pros: The Old Cannon is a warm little brewery a quick walk to down town. We were welcomed by a friendly staff. Large tanks decorate the pub. We split a light, crispy and delicious fish and chips. Breakfast was well done with Blue Mountain coffee.
Cons: Typical of pub B$Bs in the UK the room was small as was the bathroom, yet clean and comfortable. It was definitely what we expected. The proximity to down town can't be beat and the parking behind the pub was welcome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's connected to a lovely microbrewery, right in the middle of Bury St Edmunds. We didn't get to eat there (apart from breakfast, which was lovely.) but the menu looked fab. If I was going back, I'd definitely spend a night eating & drinking there!

5.8 Okay
Pros: Staff and food
Cons: Cobwebs
7.0 Good
Cons: Small items in room that made the difference between reasonable and good I.e. no soap on the wash basin - had to use shower gel. Flecks on the carpet that had obviously not been vacuumed carefully enough. Almost used toilet roll in holder where there should normally have been a fresh one for a new guest. Broken bath fitting that operated bath plug, so that taking a bath was not possible because water ran away. Smooth stainless steel shower and bath taps which could not be turned up/down with wet or soapy hands. Overall enjoyed my short stay but felt that more care should given to the presentation of the room, in this case room no.5.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I love the theme! We stayed in the gold room!
Cons: Nothing! Room was cleaned back up by the time we arrived back! Staff are very helpful and accommodating! Nice breakfast! I had salmon and eggs on too of toast!
4.5 Okay
Pros: The waitresses were very friendly. Food was nice.
Cons: The location was very poor on the side of a busy main road, definately not a 5 star spot . The owner / manager lady was very abrupt, her rules were very petty and threat based!!The bathroom had no soap only a shared bottles of shower gel and shampoo again not 5 star

Pros: Room 1 a little noisy above reception but I booked late so was probably last room up for grabs. Food is lovely, staff are friendly, convenient location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were super welcoming and friendly, nothing too much trouble. We were in Flying Cow, which was fun. Bed was very comfortable. Tea/coffee tray provided
Cons: The only slight niggle was the music in the dining room. Too loud and totally unsuitable for the clientele.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome by staff and great room.
Cons: I didn’t get to stay longer.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The Bull lived up to its reputation! Wonderful boutique hotel. The restaurant is fabulous, and (although not included) the breakfasts are superb.
Cons: Our room was a little on the small side, but had everything required. Very modern bathroom, and excellent shower. The only negative I could think of is the proximity to the main road (our room was at the front).

7.0 Good
Pros: The location was excellent.
Cons: Beds soft and rooms needed updating some evidence of damp on lower potion of some walls.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Lovely location and good breakfast
Cons: Decor and accommodation was tired, footplate on room door was damaged and ceiling in bar area in need of repair which gave poor first impression. It was expensive for what it was and we felt we were being charged for the lovely location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful and we willing to accommodate my companion's dietary and mobility issues. Definitely will go back again. Loved the location. So quiet and peaceful.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is out in the country, so lots of peace and quiet, but also close to major roads. The room we stayed in was not in the main building, but in a 'chalet' like building beside the main building. The room was good. We ate in the restaurant in the evening. The lady that served us was so friendly, and the food was really excellent, so full of flavour. We were originally going to stay for 2 nights and had to change our plans. We were so disappointed not to be staying a second night as would have loved to eat in the restaurant again.
Cons: Nothing, we couldn't have wanted for more.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Homely atmosphere. Friendly staff and locals. Excellent food.
Cons: Nothing.

Cons: Nothing. Everything was great
5.8 Okay
Pros: Room was adequate, lovely rural location. Perfect location for our stay.
Cons: One member of staff was abrupt. Breakfast finished at 9am on Sunday which I feel is too early. We decided to skip breakfast after a late night and were very surprised to find a member of staff knocking on our room door and saying they were waiting for us! The shower was lukewarm too, but bearable as it was a hot summer’s day. It would have been more disappointing in winter.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Once found the location was perfect. Right next to a corn field and beautiful courtyard garden to relaxing. Breakfast was quick and enough. Continental and English. The staff very nice and helpful. Clean room everyday with fresh towels every day and beds made. We had a twin room.
Cons: A bit on the cosy side so had to sit on bed.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Location
8.3 Excellent

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel terrace and grounds were very nice despite the proximity to a major road. The rooms were clean and had a mini bar with snacks etc. We really enjoyed our short stay, and the hotel certainly exceeded our expectations - would definitely stay again if in the area.
Cons: We ate in the hotel restaurant, and were a bit disappointed - it was OK but nothing special - pub grub really.
6.8 Good
Cons: Was disappointed with the restaurant. Had evening meal and wasn't given what was described on the menu. Nobody was around to mention it to and when they collected plates didn't ask if we enjoyed meal or even if it was ok.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice bar area and restaurant. Breakfast was great, good selection.
Cons: I don't understand the need for the extra payment on check in that gets refunded later.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: we never had the breakfast but it looked nice, the location was good for a quick run to the center which was nice to see,The hotel was super clean nice staff and dident have any problems with the room .
Cons: there wasent really any space to hang your clothes up and no draws, that was it to be honest.
6.3 Good
Pros: Lots of tea coffee etc. Beds comfortable.
Cons: Only one pillow. Shower not working. Not enough wardrobe space.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A very good breakfast. No feeling of being hurried.
Cons: All hotels I have stayed in do not have any instructions on how to use the shower. No phone in the room so in an emergency would be unable to contact reception.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Very tired rooms and bar area.
Cons: Breakfast was awful. Very low standard.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The beds are comfortable
Cons: The bathroom was very dated took a while to get the shower to suitable temperature before I could get in and use it . The hotel on the whole is basic but clean I paid £90 for 2 people for one night which considering the amenities and position and overall standard of the hotel I though the pricing was very ambitious..... £50-£60 Max !
6.8 Good
Pros: The room was adequate but only one chair we had to ask for another apart from that it was ok . Breakfast was really good , the best we have had in a while .
Cons: We asked for a ground floor room because of difficulties climbing stairs. This was totally ignored , instead the room was upstairs and a hell of walk to get to . We were told they would find another room but it didn't happen . The two meals we had in the restaurant left a lot to be desired .
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was handy for travel around the area. Staff were great, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good.
Cons: The bed cover was very thick even though the rooms were warm as it was summer and the hotel doesn’t have AC. The pillows in the room were very hard and uncomfortable.

Pros: Nice location
Cons: Slightly noisy neighbours!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent and the location good.
Cons: We were in room 11 which is on the first floor and involved various staircases which was somewhat difficult for my wife. If we came again we would insist on a ground floor room I admit I should have asked for this when I booked..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Self contained nice sized rooms, good parking, free wifi
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were efficient and friendly. The room large and the bed very comfortable. Lovely place/ location. Will definitely recommend and return.
Cons: The cleanliness of the bathroom was a bit lacking. A little Viocal goes a long way!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Initial impressions are good. Made better still by the reception welcome from the young lady on duty. Our room. 38. Was comfortable . A decent size & nicely located. Parking close to the accommodation room was handy. The grounds are lovely & everything is well spaced. The breakfast catered for all tastes. The whole restaurant is well laid out with reasonable space between tables. The grounds can be viewed whilst dinning. The waitresses are very smart & professional. Nothing was to much trouble.
Cons: Had the room had a small fridge that would have been very handy.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were like little cottages. I went with my friend and could not fault the rooms or the service.
Cons: Nothing really
5.5 Okay
Pros: The bed was comfortable. Lovely large bath sheets. The windows could be opened wide
Cons: Too many stairs and no lift. Toilet seat too small for the toilet and not secured. Evening meal supposed to be all home cooked but wasn’t. No drawers. They tried to overcharge me by over £100 and blamed it on the “system”. Found a cockroach in the dining room on the juice table. Member of staff to scared to deal with it and they never reported it to management...my husband had to do it.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and comfortable beds.
Cons: It was a little noisy over night with road and hearing plumbing.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff were very good and once we changed our room services very good. Food was ok.
