7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was nice, bed was comfortable, very nice bathroom. The view is beautiful.
Cons: The building shows some wear and tear, there's really nothing to see or do just nearby. We didn't leave the room as when it's dark it's pitch black and it didn't feel safe outside. We didn't have a balcony and the people from the adjacent room's balcony could see directly in to the room if they wanted to.
6.7 Good
Pros: Staf was very friendly
Cons: When we came Down for breakfast there were hardly anything left
8.8 Excellent
Pros: They serve a very good breakfast. I loved the local sweet with ricotta. The foyer is spacious and the receptionist responded to our request without any problems. They have a huge swimming pool which we did not use but looks inviting. The bed linen were clean and neat furniture. The bathroom is spacious and clean. Well it was a very pleasant stay. Regarding location, it was not a problem for us as we had hired a mini-bus to take us round, but I do not think it will be easy for guests without a car.
Cons: On the first day we went down for breakfast and we had to hunt for plates forks spoons & knives. Had to wait 10 mins to replenish the dish with scrambled eggs and bacon, and they came with 2 to 3 portions. So others had to wait another 10 mins to have their share. Bread was scarce and had to wait for many other items to be placed. I then went to complain to the duty manager who immediately took action. In fact from that day onwards the breakfast was fantastic and everything was available in abundance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very comfortable and enjoyable to stay at the apartment.
7.5 Good
Pros: Quiet, clean and friendly staff.
Cons: On first day breakfast and service in restaurant left a lot to be desired. However, on complaining, the situation radically changed for the better in the following days. TV channel options quite poor.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very kind to us, gave us a superior room with a huge balcony with the most beautiful view of the city and the surroundings - inspite having booked a standard room. Large room, comfortable beds and a real 5 star bathroom. Very nice touch is the ceramic decoration all over. We had a wonderful stay. Free parking provided.
Cons: Once an elegant hotel now a bit outdated specially the carpets. The dinner and the wine in the restaurant was a disgrace.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very comfortable and well maintained. The room spacious and has a nice balcony facing the city with a magnificent view. Only this last particular is worth to stay in this hotel!. The breakfast was very good, full of choices for every taste.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: This B&B is the image of Caltagirone ceramics, colorful, baroque and cheerful. Located in the small narrow streets in the heart of the old town, this is the ideal location to go for a stroll in the ceramic shops. The welcome is warm and the owners are present to indicate the best place to park. The rooms are spacious. Unfortunately, the bathroom is too small (as often in old houses). The bed is not very comfortable.
Cons: The small bathroom

Gualtiero Camere E Suite - Caltagirone - Building

8.7 Excellent (149 reviews)
C$ 78+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Gualtiero camere e suite in Caltagirone, you'll be just steps from Caltagirone Diocesan Museum and Church of San Francesco d'Assisi. Featured amenities include luggage storage and a safe deposit box at the front desk.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is in a perfect location looking over to a beautiful baroque church in a small square. The owner’s wife cooked a delicious and substantial dinner. Caltagirone has superb architecture with many lovely baroque churches off old narrow streets. I think it is an undiscovered gem off the beaten track and I prefer it to Noto which is over restored and like a stage setting.
Cons: Nothing as it was perfect.
7.5 Good
Pros: The owners hospitality, who is doing everything to make you feel at home. The location is perfect, not far from the city center. Breakfast is a typical Sicilian breakfast. The owner's wife bakes all the pies. Compliments to her. The coffee is perfect.
Cons: The cleaning of the room and bathroom could be better. Brown splashes on the inside of the bathroom door. The inside of toilet was really filthy and the toilet seat was loose, the dustbin in the bathroom was covered with dust, the faucet of the sink could be as new with an anti-scale. In the inside of the bidet were left overs of cleaning agent. A good cleaning with a toilet brush in both toilet and bidet had done wonders. In the corners of the room there was a lot of pick-up dust. The location is great, but its an old building with a lot of charme, only that does NOT mean that its difficult to clean. Online contact is, in my opinion a bit too long, 48 hours? That's the first in all my years of traveling.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was interesting to stay in a historical building in the heart of ancient city - close to the beautiful cathedral and museums. Breakfast offered by the host was very delicious.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly owner, got eggs in for breakfast to suit English tastes, but the cakes were also delicious! Owner made sure we had somewhere to park. Excellent location, 1 minute walk from the historical center. Also very pet friendly
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, comfortable, clean, bright room with en-suite bathroom and a balcony with a wonderful view. Mr Giuseppe and the staff very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I have enjoyed my 17 days stay very much indeed, Gualtiero Camere & Suite is a very good value for the money and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Cons: Quite frankly I liked everything about the place including walking the stairs, as there is no lift (which may be an obstacle to some older guests) , but my luggage was taken care of by the very thoughtful owner Mr Guiseppe.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fine location in the centre of town, a building with some character. Friendly helpful manager. Lovely breakfast with several homemade items. Parking not too tricky for the centre of a town.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, quite at night, good breakfast, very friendly staff.

Pros: Quiet atmosphere, good food and very friendly staff especially signor Luigi and Pina Gravina
Cons: Nothing in particular
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the location was amazing, the room was very spacious and clean.
Cons: The restaurant had very limited options all of whom were not worth the price(2 plates of pasta and one plate with cheese and salami no drinks 38€) and there was a big delay between the order and the arrival of the dishes. During breakfast although the restaurant was empty they didnt let us seat outside to enjoy the view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food and hospitality were excellent. The property caters also for gluten intolerant guests. This is an ideal place for those who would like to relax in the countryside. This was our third visit to the property.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel, quiet location - a car is a must. It was mid-March and quite chilly when the sun went down at night so it was very nice to come back to a lovely warm room. The owners were extremely pleasant, helpful and kind, we were given fruit to take on our travels. Breakfast was a really good start to the day, so much so that we rarely needed lunch, it consisted of fresh fruit; bread to toast; croissants; cheese; cooked meats; yoghurt; fruit juice; selection of home made jams; and cake. All very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here - thank you.
Cons: Not applicable
7.0 Good
Pros: A beatiful location with an extraordinary swimming pool, and owners who try hard to make your stay unforgettable. A location so beautiful that it is used as an event Location (anniversaries, wedding parties), weich can be the downside for you as a hotel guest. Lunch was great, breakfast also pretty good.
Cons: We did not expect anniversaries to be celebrated on site with music until 2:30 am fireworks and people gathering in front of our door. Seems that this can happen especially on weekends. The owners took our complaints very seriously and the following days were quiet and enjoyable for us.

Pros: Views were fantastic. Great location for exploring.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: A large and tidy room. Our host Rosetta was so friendly. A nice breakfast. You can find parking places just around the corner and Rosetta checked that our vehicle was on a safe spot. Rosetta didn’t speak any English, only Italian, but everything went well as I understand a little bit Italian. But if you find this uncomfortable, find another accommodation. Be prepared to pay in cash and have exact change!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A lovely couple hosting a wonderful b&b in Caltagirone. With our limited Italian we had a wonderful time and the b&b was modern and beautifully set up. Don’t worry about the external look of the old building - this is Italy. Inside it is tastefully decorated. No surprise to us that it rates so highly on booking.com and trip advisor. Many thanks for looking after us. Gary

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This B&B is lovely and it’s in a wonderful location, especially if you have a car to park. The famous ceramic steps, restaurants and other sights are all within a 10-15 minute walk. The best part of the property are the wonderful and warm hosts! We used Google translate to communicate quite effectively. And the breakfast spread is fit for royalty! The hosts even wrapped up some sandwiches for us to take on our 2 days of adventures in the area. I would highly recommend B&B Casa Alba for any travelers looking for an authentic Italian lodging experience!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Although it's only a B&B, Casa Alba is fitted to a very high standard. The room and particularly the bathroom were befiting of a 5* Hotel. The hosts were very friendly and helpful but we needed to use a deal of Google translate as their English was little better than our Italian. They provided a terrific breakfast spread and gave us a big map marked with recommended walking in the town.
Cons: We parked on a side-street nearby which was fine but we got the impression that you couldn't just turn up and be sure that there would be somewhere safe to park. We found it hard to understand the signs that defined the parking restrictions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our warm welcome, lovely room with sophisticated decor. Spacious, lovely big bathroom. The kitchen space for breakfast is airy and well lit. Rosetta and Giuseppe spoiled us with homemade treats and Sicilian pastries in addition to usual fare at breakfast. They were enthusiastic in sharing tips for tourists and pleased to hear of our travel. We stayed 3 nights and loved it. Our visit to the ceramic studio of their son Mario was so informative and enlightening when considering the ceramics in Castelgirone. This town is really worth a visit.

Pros: Good location and street parking very close. Responsive to requests which was good as I asked for a kettle and to change rooms. Great breakfast and a good walk to see the sights.
Cons: Wifi had a problem and was not working. They were apologetic and I think it was a system error not theirs. But for a solo traveller this was a bit concerning for me. Don’t worry about the external look of the old building - this is Italy. Inside it is tastefully decorated. No surprise to us that it rates so highly on booking.com and trip advisor. Many thanks for looking after us. Gary

Pros: A completely satisfactory b&b; the hosts, room, food, price and location in the old town were all excellent.
Cons: Like all old town locations traffic control presents its challenges but easily overcome with gps. Parking is 100m away but not hard to find.

Pros: Nice location, very polite owners, beautiful room.
6.7 Good
Pros: Good location and street parking very close.
I didn’t like being out of touch with family and friends. It seemed deserted and I was not sure if I was alone in the property or not.

Pros: Location was good
Cons: I booked for a 35 euro accomodation and was "pushed" for a 42 euru occomodation...things should have been clear rightaway on page

Pros: Raphael and Giulietta were most helpful and welcoming. Without any prior warning Giulietta made us a lovely evening meal because we were tired after our journey (at a reasonable price). Breakfast was great. The room was very comfortable and clean, with every facility.
Cons: It would have been good if we could have opened a window, as we like fresh air at night. But this was not a problem to us.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, nice owner
Cons: We had a nice room but no windows looking on a strees...not for klaustrofobic people
8.8 Excellent

Pros: The ubication is perfect. In the main center, you can visit all the places walking. The owners are the best! Very nice and kind. You feel like you are in your home. The breakfast is the best. Everything is handmade by Giuliana.

Pros: Convenient and good value for money. Home-made jam for breakfast was delicious Hosts were helpful storing our luggage for 6 hours.
Cons: Shower was faulty.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Breakfast was a disgrace. Not only what was served (not fresh but industrial packaged croissants, no bread, warm butter ...), but also how it was served (cutlery thrown into a plastic container on a serving table). For less than 5€ per person, that's how much we were charged for breakfast at B&B, we had a fres brioche, freshly squeezed orange juice and a cappuccino at a nearby cafe.
