7.5 Good
Pros: I liked the idea of bringing our dogs in the future and something to consider. Staff were excellent and tried hard to make the stay pleasurable (had a little banter with our male host, whom is quite a character which was a refreshing change from branded hotels). Breakfast was the highlight of our short stay! Plentiful, delicious and something for everyone.
Cons: The room (10) was a little small, but perfectly formed after opening our case there was very little room to move. It was a last minute booking and was paid for and booked by our young kids for a birthday present so they could only afford a lower rate. Not a complaint just an observation and we crashed comfortably after a long day enjoying the area and the weather. To be honest grasping at straws and only answering "what didn't you like" because it on the questionnaire. I also imagine the art work in the hotel could be like marmite and quite decisive and could be described as quirky (made my night after a few sherbets).
4.6 Okay
Cons: This is a one star hotel with five star rates. The place is permanently empty, understaffed and in need of updating. I wouldn’t put a dog in the room we were offered, even the furniture came from a jumble sale (I have pictures) with threadbare carpets and rugs. Some might say the hotel is quirky or even peculiar, I would say it is just downright weird and run down. I asked for a change of room and was shown one which was acceptable but they then wanted another £40 on top of the£225 paid. To add to this, on Sunday through to Thursday there is no restaurant dining only a very limited bar menu. This is a problem because the hotel is in a very remote place and there is virtually nowhere else to eat for miles. In fact during our stay the bridge was closed which necessitated a twenty minute drive to get to the nearest place with a pub. The staff were very pleasant and friendly and the location is wonderfully quiet but the wifi is very poor, the water pressure very weak (you need to run around in the shower to get wet)and don’t even think about room service.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Every
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food Ambiance Staff Food Winelist Gin selection Food Log fire 4 poster bed The area
Cons: Fabulous! 2nd visit. Food to die for, if you stay here you should book in to eat the chef is amazing. Soooo many gins! Some real though has gone into the wine list too. Storm Dennis arrived while we were there, river burst it's banks which is very unusual apparently and we had to stay extra time, oh what a shame ;) Nothing too much trouble for this team. The artwork will have you talking for sure. Love it. Will be back. Oh we've stayed in one of the cheaper rooms and the best room and both are worth the money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful country hotel the owners and staff were very warm and welcoming. Have stayed here several times the place does not disappoint. The food is delicious and the place has such a country house appeal with some quirky touches which are delightful. A well stocked bar and log fire makes it feel so homely. We did appreciate the free upgrade too.
Cons: Nothing negative to say.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy room. Delicious food and a good wine list.
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: The people running the guesthouse were incredibly friendly. They had plenty of suggestions for things to do in the local area. The guesthouse itself was located just a couple of minutes walk from the centre, in a quiet area of the town. The room itself was very clean, and they came in and made the bed and tidied up daily. Breakfast was both generous and filling. Lactose-free milk was available with the breakfast, which is always nice to see.
Cons: The wifi was a little unreliable. Could have done with warning that there was daily housekeeping - I think the first day we left the room a state! The weather was pretty bad - but I can't blame them for that! :)

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place with lovely staff. Our room was spacious, bright and clean and we had a lovely stay.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Really comfy bed, great friendly welcome, very quiet room and cosy.
Cons: Room 10 has low head room due to being at top of house and bathroom very tight for space, but wouldn't put me off staying again!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location right near the centre of town. No hassle in terms of checking in and out. Well equipped in terms of iron, hairdryer, tea + coffee etc. Nice and quiet (apart from the bed and shrieks from getting frozen/burnt by the shower!).
Cons: The bed was pretty worn out and was the noisiest bed we've ever slept on in terms of creaking! The shower went very hot then cold about every 12 seconds (I counted on order to avoid burning/freezing!).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: visited here recently and check in was swift and very easy. The young receptionist was very polite and informative. A credit to the hotel. I was upgraded to a double room on the top floor. The room was spacious and had an en suite bathroom with a large flat screen tv. The room had excellent wi fi had a very comfortable bed with good lighting and tea/coffee facilities. It was warm, cosy and had a nice desk for my lap top. A space for my car and a late check out if I needed it. Ideally located and unbelievably peaceful. Very affordable price also. Recommended.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was decorated lovely, very clean and plenty of milk for our coffees in the morning as most hotels only give 2 milks. Loved the iron and pull out ironing board on the wall, you don't see alot of that, very handy! Loved the location also. Young girl on reception was very welcoming and polite.
Cons: Shower wasn't very powerful and now and again would slow down completely but not a massive problem.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, lady that met me on check in was very friendly and helpful. I received an upgrade to a double room despite booking a single which was much appreciated. Will be returning when back in the area next month.
Cons: Bed was a little hard.
