Pros: For a budget price, the room was larger than most and very clean. The shower was excellent with good pressure and temperature.

Pros: Separate toilet & bathroom. Big room. Good value. Friendly staff.

Cons: Hotel in process of refurbishment so unfair to judge too harshly. The room & bathroom were very tired/well used & the toilet floor was badly marked around the edges. Guess that's why refurb is taking place.

Pros: proximity to main road. clean and quiet. decent breakfast.

Cons: had to drive to nearest restaurant next to the Ibis. slightly expensive for what is offered.

Cons: we were informed the reception was open until 11pm but the receptionist Francesca sent us an email informing us she was finishing early at 10pm with no regard for us, just as well we arrived before 10pm because the key entry was complicated and had to use a different door than key provided. Not happy that a member of staff was prepared to leave us stranded just so she could go home an hour early , unprofessional

Pros: The bed was comfortable once a loose uncomfortable cover blanket under the sheet was removed. Warm. Shower was powerful.

Cons: Bare wires by the toilet Very untidy external Tv not working correctly Downpipe right outside window very noisy Toilet paper dispenser not working needed to use tissues provided.

Pros: The hotel facilities were excellent and staff polite and friendly

Pros: Quite comfortable. Very pleasant, helpful young lady on reception and dealing with breakfast. The room was fine. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was more than adequate.

Cons: This is a motel. The decor is tired. It has a strange arrangement where a common corridor is accessed by a series of double doors, that open onto the car park. So you leave your room, cross the corridor and enter the car park. Every two rooms have these doors opposite the room door. This means that you have the constant banging of doors every time someone enters or leaves by the car park. This motel has no 24hr cover, so it’s possible for people to machine check in at all hours and it is not the best place to ensure a good night’s rest. My wife and I had separate rooms as she had not slept well the previous night of our journey (my snoring). We threw our money away!! At 3.30am a group of men checked in, some slept in a van in the car park. It was bedlam, doors crashing. Sleep was impossible. We also did not feel that the place was very secure. Parts of the motel feel a bit remote. With the set up I feel that there will be many occasions where you will not get a good overnight rest.

Pros: The hotel is easy to find if driving from the north. You park your car immediately outside your room. Large, comfortable bed. Quiet room, well equipped. Glass sliding patio doors open onto a large, enclosed (shared) garden area with trees and shrubs where you can sit out in deckchairs etc. Good continental buffet breakfast.

Cons: Long way from historic city centre. It's a 10–12km drive to the cathedral, depending which way you go. The breakfast area is a little cramped. I expect the garden (and corridor past the rooms) could be noisy if there were lots of children staying? Apart from that, it's fine, unpretentious, good value.

Cons: Noisy workmen, up to 5 pm working alongside and above our room, drilling and banging. A large group staying the night were noisy when retiring to their rooms late at night.

Pros: Just stayed for one night, family with one dog. Staff very friendly and room very clean.

Pros: Nicely located, lovely friendly reception. Good comfortable room and a good nights sleep. Close to shops and places to eat out. Somewhat better than those I have stayed in in Paris.

Cons: I just hate the lack of choice for breakfast, this applies to just about every hotel in Europe, continental breakfast or nothing.

Pros: This is a stop over hotel for me on my way back to the UK from Spain, but this trip we took in two nights accommodation as our trip back coincided with the Race de ramparts, that takes over the centre of the city for the weekend. So an added bonus.

Cons: No issues with anything, it delivers for us on many levels.

Cons: The foam mattresses made us uncomfortably hot and sweaty at night. For this reason will not stay again. If common to all Inis hotels, will not use Ibis. A pity because we liked everything else.

Pros: The hotel's location is perfect and easily accessible. The rooms are simple but they do their office and are very cheap. The staff was friendly and just great in general.

Cons: The corridors are old and look abandoned which is too bad since they - thankfully - do not reflect the state of the rooms. The rooms are unfortunately a bit dark.

Pros: Location was central, room was small but adequate, receptionist was very helpful, breakfast delivered to the door. Adequate measures in place for covid 19

Pros: THe proximity to the train station was what we were looking for. The coffee machine was a huge bonus, as well as the lift as we have heavy luggage at this stage.

Cons: Food was tasteless for my taste. plenty of choice though A little problem to report the doors of the bathrooms did not close.

Cons: I ordered a vegetarian dinner at the conference it was not good at all. Something with cheese or a meat substitute would have been better thank just some vegetables, that's vegan food.

Cons: The walls must have been really thin through to the next room as we could hear their conversation and coughing in the middle of the night which kept us awake. Awkward layout of room with too many doors onto a small corridor. A bit lacking in character. No parking available for a minibus.

Pros: It was spacious, clean and comfortable. It was a 20 minute walk to the historic town centre which was easy if you don’t mind hills. The bed was large and very comfortable. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

Cons: No private parking garage. It's a private space but not secured and along the public road. We came at 21:00 and the bar and restaurant were already closed. No smoking area after 9 pm. The maximum temperature of the shower is fixed and not enough hot. I told the next morning to the friendly hotel owner all of this but my words seemed to go in at one ear and left inmediately the other ear.

Pros: Elevator, friendly front office staff, clean

Cons: Towels inadequate, no bath mat, no frog. On a major roundabout so noisy. They’ve thrown money to update but didn’t go the extra yard.

Pros: Easy to find, free parking available, the hotel was very clean, the room was comfortable (and big) and breakfast was great, in a lovely room with a log fire. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I only stayed for one night so didn't really explore Angoulême, but there was a good restaurant (L'Entrecôte) about a 5 minute walk away from the hotel.

Cons: Horrible town with mostly abandoned buildings and gangs of immigrants wondering about aimlessly.

Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in the centre of Angouleme and we were able to park outside on the street but parking may be an issue. The hotel was quirky with lots of character. Breakfast good. Good WiFi.

Pros: The rooms were excellent, clean and cozy. The style of hotel is modern boutique, very cute! The front staff try to be accomadating. Unfortunately, we did not get to eat in the restaurant because of poor service.

Cons: We were not permitted in hotel restaurant, although we stayed for 4 nights. The staff of hotel restaurant was rude, unaccomadating and confrontational.

Pros: Beautiful old convent right in the centre of Angouleme and in a very quiet location. Very nice welcome from Stephanie, who couldn’t do enough to please. The rooms are very nicely done in a boutique hotel style and make a pleasant change from the nasty plastic hotels you often find. Parking on site too so ideal for visitors to the Ramparts weekend.

Cons: Difficult parking, although free after 6.30pm. Location opposite the station so a little noisy, although the hotel did provide disposable ear plugs! Unfortunately breakfast was not available, due to a problem of some sort (beyond my limited French to understand what exactly).

Pros: This is the best 2 star hotel I even been to. The owner is very friendly, he explained that he prefers to have the best 2 star hotel instead of an OK 3 star hotel. Breakfast quality was great (better than a lot of 3 star hotels) Price was reasonable comparing to other hotels in Angouleme. 2 mins away from train station. I stayed only one night but if I ever go back to Angouleme ill stay here again.

Cons: The breakfast. It was a little sparse. I am coeliac and I normally bring my Gluten Free bread with me. In most hotels I can find items to use with my bread.

Pros: Close to the Gare d'Angoulemme. Second room "double comfort" is quite OK, and more fresh than the first one, I've been given.

Cons: I've been given by the wrong room type, although they were of the same price, but the booking is booking, and I came to see manager if there is a mistake. So, I asked correctly, but I met misunderstanding and prejudgment: "Remember, you are in Europe, you are in France! and not in your country, you had to call me in advance to choose the room, it is busy now" I didn't understand why, so I asked booking if their photos are correct and can be enough proving of each room type. So the next morning problem was solved. The walls are so thin, so even if there a sound insolation, as specified in features, it doesn't help. I've seen 2 rooms, but neither has a balcony, not a problem for me, but maybe it does not worth to specify is as a feature on booking page? Breakfast consists on cheese, croissants, yoghurt, muesli... No meat, no eggs. Wifi asks authorization every time you leave the room. The code for the hall door for late comeback could be written somewhere on a cards, as it is in another hotels, so less chance customers will forget it. So maybe hotel is aiming only for French customers, but reading the comments after, I realize I'm not alone.

Cons: The attitude of the manager/owner who clearly does not like the British, when you arrive early tells you shut come back at 2.00pm denies understanding English when you come back after a funeral at 7.00pm tells you no room and then says in English we should learn to speak French. Then lies to booking.com that we didn't return at 7.00pm but still charges us!! Avoid this hotel at all costs especially if you are English!!!

Pros: Reception was very helpful and friendly. Secure parking was just what I'd hoped for. Room was as expected and bathroom clean, with good shower. Budget Hotel delivered above my expectations.

Cons: My only comment would be more guidance as to where to park upon arrival. Parking was a problem as Station area quite busy.

Breakfast was "spot on" as was the bedroom (and bed) - Angoulême is a great stop over on long hall Paris Bordeaux? Plenty friendly restaurants some 400 m away, good for digestion -eg the Atelier, obviously?
