I had a reservation for 2pm, got to the place via Uber and was told the car had a check engine light and is at the shop currently and they think it might be repaired at 4pm or so. Their office closes at 5:30pm, I needed to go to JFK airport at a certain time and fortunately I gave myself enough time to go over to another rental car place where they actually have cars to rent. This place should be closed down.

Car was bland, but reliable. Beef was that I intentionally asked the staff if there were additional fees charged by Hertz for processing toll charges and they said no. So I passed on the EZPass only to find out that Hertz charged me separately twice to bill me for my expected toll charges. Varying convenience fee amounts too. Beware, these may cost more than the rental itself.

Evidently the car was not cleaned because I found an umbrella, some toys and a bunch of condoms in the rental car. Otherwise it was OK but you may want to make sure that doesn't happen again.
