Cons: Lovely service. Great food. Will stay again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was very good. Location just right.
Cons: The weather.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Wye Valley Hotel is remarkable for its wonderful location at Tintern among glorious scenery, and for the superb summer flowers which bedeck the entire facade. The accommodation is straightforward and very adequate - there are no pretensions to high luxury, but that's not the point. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is there. It's homely in the best sense, fully equipped and impeccably clean. There is plenty of convenient parking room. The food is excellent - abundant, well cooked and very well presented, with imaginatively varied menus. The generous traditional English (and Welsh) breakfasts will set you up for the day. Perhaps best of all, Barry and Sue Cooper run an obviously very happy ship - they and their staff are unfailingly warm, friendly and helpful especially in discussing with you things that you might do and excursions that you might make. Our stay was a great pleasure.
Cons: Nothing, really given the nature of the establishment. Our double room was a bit cramped, but that was my fault for booking very late when the more spacious accommodation was taken.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely - clean, neat and with much care an± attention to detail. The bed was very comfy and we had a great night's sleep. The bathroom was lovely and the shower was hot. The shortbread was a nice touch! Breakfast was lovely - we had the Wye Valley breakfast with scrambled eggs both days. We ate in the bar in the evenings and the food was very reasonably priced and tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: The water pressure in the shower was a bit on the low side, but that was the only minor point!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Friendly and welcoming from the first minute I checked in. Would definitely stay again. Lovely area too.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Lovely location and rooms were fine
Cons: 4 dogs on site which we weren't made aware of, not a problem for us, but if we had been travelling with other friends one is allergic to dog hair so it could have been a problem. Breakfast was OK but service a little slow.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly. Room was a little tired but comfortable. Bed was great, slept well. Beautiful location.
Cons: Bathroom needed refurbishment.Beau

5.8 Okay
Pros: Leaving.
Cons: Bring charged again when I had already or paid. Bring charged more than I should. The terse manner in which I was spoken to when I politely challenged the charge.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff here are amazing. I was unfortunately unwell whilst I was here and the staff could not have been better. Has to be one of the friendliest places I have ever stayed. Thank you to everyone there x
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Really nice staff and exceptionally helpful. It was a good base for our Macmillan walk.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good location reasonable prices
Cons: The pathway to reception
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The venues really nice and traditional, the 11am checkout times ideal as well.
Cons: The food service was incredibly poor, nearly all of our wedding party had to wait over 90 minutes for our meals. We appreciate that it was a large number but it was booked prior so they knew the numbers expected. Staff were just slow and forgetting additional items we ordered and around 4 meals came out wrong and then had to wait over an hour for the replacement. The room was cosy and clean, the air extractor was quite loud and is on constantly luckily after a few drinks we fell asleep pretty easily.

7.5 Good
Pros: Stayed the night before Macmillan mighty hike marathon. I had an early start and breakfast didn't start until 8am but the very lovely Annabelle took time out to make me a tray of toast and tea at 6.30am. What a gem! Great location and the rest of the staff were lovely too.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Extremely pleasant manager and staff.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent

Staff very friendly and helpful. Car park to the from very convenient. Breakfast was fantastic. I'd highly recommended the Woodfield Arms
Cons: Bathroom is a bit stark and too much noise from.other rooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, greatly presented, homely feel and a calm relaxed atmosphere
Cons: Water feature going through night side of my window made me need the loo through night hardly a bad point but the only one I could find
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent location
Cons: It shuts the bar 5:30pm on Sunday and is also closed all day Monday - no real information pointing this out, although there are bars quite close. And did see the odd massive spider not good if you have a fear
10.0 Excellent
Pros: So friendly. So comfortable. Fab 4 poster bed! Lovely and clean with luxury bedding and towels. Breakfast was super and everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. Great location. Public car park opposite. If you arrive after 5pm you don't have to pay for parking til 9am the next day.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Great location next to the castle, where there is public parking. Characterful rooms, staff welcoming and helpful
Cons: Hairdryer in room would have been useful
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good location for sightseeing and river watching.

9.6 Excellent
Cons: Very noisy at night due to a group
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location and great value for money
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location just off the beaten track. Leisure facilities welcome. Great food and service in the fine dining restaurant. At check in, Lorraine was very welcoming, and happy to provide details about this historic property
Cons: Description suggested view of golf course, but window of hotel room was completely obscured by a very large bush. So we had no view at all from the room.
5.0 Okay
Cons: When trying to book one of the three bridal suites the staff were not at all helpful. The bride ended up with a room called Usk when you opened the door to the room there was something splashed all down the walls and the carpets were very grubby, bathroom needed updating, not very nice for a ride in Avery expensive dress. Also the duvet cover had an large hole in it not what you expect for the price we paid.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: staff were all really nice, the ambience of the hotel is lovely. Despite a fire/flooding in the kitchen, we were moved to a different restaurant, this was all handled very well
Cons: It obviously attracts a lot of groups (3 golfing groups whilst we were there) and weddings, so a lot of people know each other making the communal areas a bit loud and you can feel a bit as though you are gate-crashing someone’s party. we thought we might avoid this on a sunday evening, but not the case. All still very nice though.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The setting is beautiful and parking is no problem.
Cons: We did have a problem with check in. We arrived at 1:45pm but were told the room would not be ready until 3. At 3 they said another 1/2 hour but we were only able to get our key at 4:05 because they were delayed in the room being cleaned. This did cause some grief as we were meeting family at 4:15.
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely big comfy bed and no dogs or children to share it with :) Room was lovely and overlooking lake
Cons: Food was pricey in the bar and grill and service very slow clearing mains plates away and bringing dessert menu. As per most hotels the provided tea/coffee milk and sugar sachets are in short supply (although admittedly you can get more from reception, it would be nice if there were more to begin with)
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The team that make this hotel work are excellent and we had a good stay but I can’t help thinking that this hotel needs a good renovation to keep up with the rest of the group. Some air conditioning would have been nice in our room even if it was just a blower for greasy air. The floors seem to creak and the doors all slam so anyone getting up early wakes everyone else. You could excuse the listed parts of the property as that is normal but the 70’s type extensions look dated and need to be renovated so they look modern and work in a quieter fashion.
Cons: Marriott group sweating the asset here it seems. Please renovate the shell of the rooms blocks to be quieter.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Nice English breakfast, Location & Beautiful surrounding.
Cons: Room service was appalling. There were missing ingredients on the plate (eg baked potato didn’t come with sour cream, no avocado for the chicken bacon salad) which not as described on the menu. Curry rice was undercooked. Everything tastes bland and no effort making. I had raised this issue with the receptionist when we checked out however she couldn’t care less. Also I’m surprised there’s no mini fridge in the room as Marriott hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent
Cons: Everything
7.9 Good
Pros: This was our third visit to this gorgeous hotel. It is now apparent to us that a substantial revenue stream is groups / parties of golfers. Independent travellers may need to take note and book accordingly
Cons: Room great view poor.

Pros: The staff were friendly & helpful. The food was good value for money & pretty tasty (great chicken, leek & bacon pie).
Cons: The quilt could have been a little bigger.
7.1 Good
Pros: Rooms were fine for one night stay. Basic rooms but all facilities necessary were included. Comfy beds and nice pillows. Would return if in area. Lots of parking spots.
Cons: Rooms a little out of date, and towels were slightly rough. No separate shampoo/ body wash in shower - more of an all in one for the shower which is drying for hair. Smell of fried food in some communal areas. Maybe a bit pricey for the room.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Cheap and good location
Cons: Bed was really uncomfortable.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice friendly staff
Cons: They shut the bar around 10 30 on a saturday night because they was quiet even tho we asked for drinks
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were able to check into our room early as we had a wedding to attend that day. Nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: N/A
5.8 Okay
Pros: You get what you pay for. It was a last minute 'cheap' trip to see my daughter with my dog and it did what it said on the tin. It's all a bit dated but clean. Great location for walking around town.
Cons: It looks like it could do with a jolly good refurbishment
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Very little, location was good
Cons: Restaurant was closed in the evening. Room was really dated and bedside lamps not working. Room was noisy when guests left the main bar. Breakfast was awful with cold garlic mushrooms. Price was high.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff were friendly good location
Cons: Pillows inside cases in single room not clean. Shower temperature difficult to control. Window didn’t open in small bedroom. Window blinds in both rooms didn’t fit properly & let light through. Toilet in twin room didn’t flush properly needed several attempts. Twin room was also fire escape for building so if there was a fire other guests would need to walk through our room to fire escape.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all lovely. Room spacious and very comfortable. Sunday lunch was delicious. Would definitely recommend
Cons: Nothing
5.5 Okay
Pros: Location very good not very much parking available at the hotel
Cons: The hotel is in need of a makeover. Carpets old and tried as is the furniture. Fact is the hotel looks as if it is on the way down. The trouble is the hotel doesn’t know if it is a pub or a hotel.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location superb for the castle. Staff friendly accomodated any breakfast requests
Cons: No complaints
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for one night, I don't feel like driving home after a gig at Chepstow Castle (Castell Roc) The room was ideal for our requirements and the breakfast, whilst I could have eaten more was adequate
7.1 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing special. Strange set up between a pizza cafe and hair salon. Complained about extremely hot shower setting that could not be turned down. Was told that it would be seen to, but it wasn’t. When I asked for a vegetarian breakfast I was told i could have beens on toast and tomatoes. No alternative ie Vegie sausages etc not even mushrooms. My friend asked for a pouched egg, owner said No. Owner then commented on how many pieces of toast my husband had made for himself. we were not made to feel welcome.
