Rocche Costamagna Art Suites - La Morra - Bedroom

9.5 Excellent (259 reviews)
C$ 209+
Overview Reviews
Located in La Morra, Rocche Costamagna Art Suites is in the historical district, just a 3-minute walk from Belvedere di La Morra and a 4-minute drive from Cappella del Barolo. Featured amenities include luggage storage and a library.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The front desk person made it great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible view from the terrace and balconies! The room was great as was the service and the wine. We loved staying at Rocche Costamagna!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a fabulous boutique hotel located on the hilltop of LaMorra overlooking the Langhe countryside. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was serene and peaceful. The lobby showcased the property's wine, with the tasting room just beyond. There is also a huge veranda on this level with views forever. A full breakfast was served at a "sister" property about 100 yards away. Rooms were simply but perfectly furnished. We also had a selection of wines by the bottle to enjoy on our own terrace, with the same incredible views. Clean, modern, comfortable bathroom, too. We parked at a public lot about 100 feet from the hotel to unload our luggage and check in (it is a small, one-way street right in front of the hotel, so no dropping off luggage there). Then there are a couple of public lots (free parking), or spots on the street just down from the hotel, to choose from.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleaning, terrasse, winetasting, the wines
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location with a real panoramic view. Very helpful staff assisting with a fine dinner reservation!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located in the center of the town, La Morra. From one hand you are not in the middle of wine yards , on the other hand, wide choice and quality of their wines, plus high-end atmosphere of the hotel makes a perfect combination of the Barolo region retreat. We were given a detailed tour to their wine production and tasted a good number of wines (included in package). As hotel guests we also got 10$ off for the wine shop. The wine itself provides great value for money. Highly recommended.
Cons: Wine yards are located in a distance from the hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly located, wonderful view from the terrace
Cons: The breakfast at Ove is rather poor (once we got cold coffee, they run out of orange juice and yoghurt etc.)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous spot in center of La Morra, friendly staff, walkable to all nearby restaurants and shops, large terrace, excellent wine tasting included along with wines available in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, view from the room, furnishing of the room, tour of the celllar and opportunity to taste and buy wine produced by the owners
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was the highlight of our visit to the region. The suite was outstanding with the most amazing views, it also had all the amenities we needed for our stay. The mini-bar was a very pleasant surprise as it comprised of the wine selections provided by Rocche Costamagne. The most amazing part of the stay was the wine-tasting with Maurice; thank you.
Cons: Nothing.
Fior Di Farine - La Morra - Building
2
9.5 Excellent (228 reviews)
C$ 169+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Fior di Farine in La Morra, you'll be a 5-minute walk from Belvedere di La Morra and within a 5-minute drive of Sylla Sebaste. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was great and the bed and breakfast nice overall but Lily is what made the place. Her help and enthusiasm was outstanding and the service in general was excellent. It was an older house so very charming and parking was free and right in front of the house so very convenient.
Cons: Our room was very small and the shower leaked. We did come in early one night due to very rainy and foggy conditions and were able to sit in the living room area but it would have been nice to have a sitting area in our room. If the weather hadn't been so foggy which appears to be a bit worse in La Morra than other places, it would have been better but still I thought that the room was awfully small for the price. Other rooms looked much nicer but were pricier. We also had 2 flights of very steep stairs to get to the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful bed and breakfast with swimming pool and terrase to wind down. Breakfast was probably one of the best we ever had at an B&B or hotel and the staff was really wonderful! Also very nice to visit the mill and see how they work with artisanal methods to make high quality flour:)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our host was amazingly friendly and helpful. The fully home made breakfast is most probably the best I ever had in this Region!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautiful spacious and air conditioned! The little pool worked great for a refreshing dip and the location was central, walkable distance to restaurants, gorgeous views, and more! Also the house made breakfast was devine.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lilli was a warm and energetic host who made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Beautiful B+B right next to a flour mill which smells fantastic. Fantastic parking area, lovely pool area and our room had everything we needed including a spacious shower (with good water pressure). And breakfast was amazing. Baking with the flour from the mill was delicious, great coffee, lovely fruits... Highly recommend!
Cons: It was perfect!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic welcoming personnel. Great homemade breakfast with good caffe. Air conditioning in all rooms and good wifi. Nice and clean everywhere. The appartment was in particular great for family of four. Great recommondations to resturants and activities by the personnel. Small but very clean and cosy outdoor area with swimmingpool. Car parking in shaded area.
Cons: One of the rooms we had was a bit noisy related to trafic in/out of nearby rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect! Very nice staff, very clean, confortable, wonderful breakfast (all homemade, even the bread!) and a very nice terrace with swimming pool. It is perfect, if you want to stay in the village of La Morra for enjoying the nice Restaurants in the center (walking distance). Even the wine yards are just around the corner, but it is not on the countryside outside of any urbanization. La Morra is a very special village and close of other villages with wonderful restaurants. B&B Fior di Farine is absolutely recomendable for all lover of very nice restored old italian houses.
Cons: For a culinary trip B&B Fior di Farine is perfect. Specially for couples and group of friends. It is acceptable for family with children, but for them there might be other better options with large gardens and greater distance to busy roads.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lillie the owner was really friendly and helpful.we struggled to make our own dinner reservations but Lillie went the extra mile and helped us.....they were brill restaurants. She also made great recommendations for cantinas. we will def be back and have recommended this B and B to friends already

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, lovely design, very friendly and professional waitress - Mara - thank you very much. Delicious food in both restaurants
Cons: We booked superior room and on arrival we were told that we got an upgrade, which was nice, but got the standard room at the attic, with windows on your knee level and opened to the yard that we could listen to kitchen and bar rubbish being throwed out and listen to the staff conversations... don't really think there was any upgrade, especially that one day we had opportunity to see neighbouring room.. which was normal size and had a balcony. last but not least - not enough light in the bathroom, which is very atmospheric and beautifully designed, but sometimes simply things are as important.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The whole ambiance of the hotel, our room was particularly lovely opening out onto a patio which led to a beautiful pool surrounded by trees and an enormous fig tree.
Cons: It said on booking.com there was a restaurant but when we arrived they said they only served at lunchtimes. We were recommended a local one which was very good - the hotel is in the centre of a lovely hilltop town with quite a few restaurants so it was not really a problem.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner and staff were amazingly helpful and accommodating. The hotel itself was charming and beautifully appointed.
Cons: Although La Morra is beautiful, it would not be my first preference staying in the Langhe. We enjoyed the small town of Monforte which seemed to be more of a working class village.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. Lovely view. Lovely pool

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel, very clean and amazing breakfast. We loved it here.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place, great spot, great location, great breakfast, drinks, staff and design. Parking was also great! Close proximity to restaurants and things to do makes it well worth the stay. The staff is amazing and the owners are fantastic people, they care about what they do and it shows!
Cons: It’s not their fault but screens on the doors to prevent mosquito would be amazing. Most of Italy has no screens so we get it. The rooms were warm and the AC wasn’t working well. I’m wondering if they could adjust the AC but we never asked.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Greatly recommended! Very helpful staff and authentic feelings.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic place for visiting the Barolo wine makers. Good standard, great breakfast and nice garden + pool. Also excellent with a private parking.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, with a lovely 25 min walk through the vineyards to get to Barolo. Breakfast was superb and the room was large and the bed was so comfortable we took the make of the mattress to buy one for home. The staff were brilliant and could not do enough for you. Wish we could have stayed longer as its a beautiful part of Italy.
Cons: Not a lot to dislike.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I have been twice already and I love the place, the location and view over the Piedmont! The owners are lovely and I definitely will return!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The food at the hotel was exceptional. Some of the best meals we had our entire trip and very affordable. Views from every spot on the property were beautiful. Pool was a good size and the loungers were really comfortable. All the staff went over and above to make the stay great. Appreciated they helped us book a smaller winery one day when we didn’t have plans. The vertical wine tasting with Roberto was the best we have ever done. Well worth the money and the cellar and tasting room are so nice.
Cons: In our room the bed was really creaky every time one of us moved and the A/C was so loud when on high. Restaurant could use some work as the lights were really bright and there wasn’t much ambience. At the pool there appeared to be a wasp problem and way too many pigeons. Overall still a really great stay though!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The view, the room, the food, the wine!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The views are unbelievable. The staff and the location made this stay unforgettable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly superior hotel, a nice level of luxury without any snobby attitude. The staff were great with our small kids, nice touches in the rooms (IPod with decent music, flip flops etc)
Cons: Slightly better black out curtains on the floor to ceiling windows for longer lie-ins, would have been good to have a coffee machine in the room or available for guests at reception. And the dry cleaning service shrunk my dress !
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We love everything about this hotel, we have stayed twice now and love the style, facilities, staff and most of all the view!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The very spacious rooms.
Cons: There wasn’t anything I did not like
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, romantic and stylish room, friendly staff, always helpful when I need something. The views over the vineyards are spectacular. I had dinner at the hotel and it was excellent, and I could do a tasting of the owners wines, they were also excellent. This was one of the greatest dinner in my holiday. Breakfast was excellent.

7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel is clean and the staff was helpful

Il Grappholo is a very nice place to explore one of the most exciting wine area's in the world!

Pros: Excellent location and lovely hotel with facilities. Very pleasant staff at Reception.
Cons: We had been told by Reception that it was possible to order individual breakfast items eg boiled or poached eggs, but this proved not to be possible when requested in the breakfast room. This additional service would have positively added to our experience.

Pros: Great view and people. Lovely breakfast.
Cons: Small gym. Some workout machines broken. The same music at the spa was playing at the gym.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything from the historical building to the beautiful gardens and pretty village
Cons: The pillows too hard
7.9 Good
Pros: The location, the kindness of the staff, the beautiful building
Cons: The room what not very cleaned the first day and it was cold in it, despite we ask for having more heat.
7.9 Good
Pros: The room was huge...the largest one of our whole trip. Separate room for your luggage which meant you had even more space. The trip to the pool had very relaxing music to listen to. The spa was fantastic as was the sauna and steam room. Lots of little frogs around the pool which were enjoyable to watch. Huge car parking area which is free. Great location to visit other towns i.e Barollo, Novella etc. Don't forget to visit the little town next door which also has great restaurants to eat at. Definitely do the wine tasting...we had 3 samples which was more than adequate...great afternoon :)
Cons: We had a vintage car group staying one of the nights who were big eaters at breakfast...by the time we came to eat they had all left and had eaten most of the food. This was not replaced so we were left with the leftovers. The staff this morning were not as friendly and tended to clean up after the vintage car group rather than look after the other guests that were arriving for breakfast. This only occurred on one of the days the rest of the stay the breakfast was fine.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great gardens and beautiful building. Nice facilities with the pool, spa, cellar. Its nice the big roads are far away.
Cons: The food at the restaurant is tasteless. A lot to improve. There was a funny smell around the premises.

Pros: Super cool and modern design. Fantastic tour of their wine cellar. Incredibly helpful staff.
Cons: Property was under construction and completely covered in scaffolding without prior warning nor any reflection on the price
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very new, and designed and built to a very high standard. It is run by a wine-producing family, and is built over the wine cellar. There is a good restaurant within the complex, where the wines can be sampled with the food.
Cons: The hotel is so new that parts of the exterior complex are still being finished, but that is only a minor temporary inconvenience. The buffet breakfast could be a little better organised.

Pros: Modern and well maintained with good well appointed rooms, excellent shower and mattress. The staff at reception and restaurant were friendly and eager to please. It is more central than it seem to be on the map. Hotel seems quite recently renovated with good facilities and room is of good size. Fired eggs, omelettes, and salmon are available for breakast
Cons: Breakfast could have more choice, such as more choice of bread and cold cuts. The price is a bit expensive for a medium size town.

Cons: The location is poor if you want to walk to town or to/from railway station: no footpath (you have to walk down a busy road) with a huge detour to cross the railway lines. The hotel supplies bicycles for free, and you can cycle into town in 10 mins.

Pros: Staff were excellent! Free bikes to borrow! Extremely quiet and clean rooms!
Cons: The bed was a bit too firm for my liking. But I slept well anyway!
8.3 Excellent

Cons: The only problem with this lovely B&B is that the shower is so small. This is really a shame as the bedroom is enormous and the area allocated to the bathroom itself is also big. The shower enclosure however is just too small to be comfortable

Cons: - nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: The room and bathroom we had was very large and nicely decorated. The highlight though is the setting in the former monastery which makes the stay quite unique. There is also a nice pool area and plenty of easy parking.
Cons: We chose the hotel to a large part also for it's restaurant option but were rather disappointed. The food wasn't bad but we know it can get much better in the area for less money. You should also be aware that the restaurant is not open every day and there aren't many other options in the village itself (but of course plenty in the vicinity)
5.8 Okay
Pros: The architecture is amazing, a beautiful pool, good breakfast. Lots of character to the building.location brilliant. but the service is average at best and some staff had little desire to provide any service.
Cons: The arrival and reception was poor. We arrived early and bags were left in the lobby for some time before being stored. They were not placed in our room when it was available and we were not told so had to go back and collect. In our suite the most expensive room. Basic items were missing like welcome pack or safe instructions. The member of staff who unlocked the safe left before I could work it out. The bed was rock hard. Reception was left unstaffed or with a member of staff who didn't know what to do.

Cons: Breakfast already gone
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast. The personnel were always smiling, helpful and attentive.
Cons: We were disappointed with the restaurant “Il Teatro”, not for the quality of the food or the service, which were both excellent, but rather the “ambiance” - or lack of. It was like sitting in a church hall/school hall/works canteen! A cold and cavernous atmosphere, no background music to break the echoey silence and certainly no intimacy. Not somewhere that you wanted to sit, linger and chat - eat up and leave. The breakfast room is 100% nicer with warmth and atmosphere. Perhaps the evening restaurant should swap location....!

Pros: The gentleman in the reception was very friendly and helpful. I have asked for Iron and he said we do not provide it in the hotel but he went home and brought his personal iron for me. Just for making customer happy. That's a great behavior. I love that.
