2.0 Mediocre
Pros: helpful staff
Cons: location of room - next to car park - felt very vulnerable. It was very cold.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, price and facilities
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The manager and staff where brilliant, we had a few complaints and they sorted it with no hassle or stress, really friendly and funny. Great team of staff.
Cons: It can be noisy if you are in the rooms close to the pub.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location was great. We were attending an event in Whitwick and it was a good distance for us.
Cons: The room was pretty disgusting. The carpets were covered in mud, there was dust on everything, the sink hadn't been cleaned properly. The worst part was the bed - when we pulled the duvet back it was full of bits of outdoors and goodness knows what else. Both my partner and I have problems with allergies, so we decided immediately to go and find a different hotel. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the guy who gave us a full refund and his understanding of the problem. The reviews for Charnwood Arms seemed fairly positive, so I'd like to think this was just a fluke. I hope it gets sorted soon!
6.0 Good
Pros: The room make overs are really tasteful and so fresh and clean (had an upstairs room the entrance through to upstairs was very scruffy a dirty towel on the floor not sure if radiator been leaking) but yes will be back for sure but will make sure I check over my room first next time.
Cons: I picked up the key just before 7pm, rang bell at reception waited around 15 minutes for someone to arrive paid on arrival the bar area was very busy, didn't look at the room straight away, arrived back at around 9.30pm then realised was a room with twin single beds had booked and paid for double room just wanted to get to bed couldn't bother with hassle of going back to reception, the rooms have had a really tasteful upgrade and bathroom was really great. The room was fresh and clean as always. There was no one around to speak to regarding the booking mix up in the morning when dropping the keys in, was disappointed couldn't get to speak about my concerns.
6.0 Good
Pros: The rooms were good. Comfortable and spacious although I didn't know they were out of the main building.
Cons: Nobody at reception to greet us had to wait for a while. The receptionist who met us was not very welcoming. I hadn't realised the rooms were not a main part of the building so felt slightly vulnerable. Not very keen on the pub where reception and food was served.
6.0 Good
Pros: The bed was comfortable
Cons: Very basic room, there were no towels or tea, coffee and milk in the room. The bathroom didn’t have and soap in the dispenser in the shower.

Pros: Different food, really healthy.
Cons: Nothing.
7.0 Good
Pros: Room was very comfortable; the facilities were good; check in staff were very helpful
Cons: Breakfast staff were not helpful, and the breakfast was below expectations
5.0 Okay
Pros: Fantastic treatment with Charlotte on the Elemis counter, and dinner was delicious, very fresh and full of flavour
Cons: The room I stayed in was extremely noisy being right next to the stairs, which all guests used as the lift was out of order. Also I could hear all the bathroom activities of the bedroom next to me and their conversation also, which kept me awake into the night. I did ask to move but sadly the hotel was fully booked. This meant I only got about 4 hours of sleep.
6.0 Good
Cons: The rooms did not really meet the level of quality you'd expect from the rest of the venue. They were still pleasant.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Staff not very helpful Young receptionist explained very quickly what is available but not clearly enough to understand. We had feelings as he would to send us away.
4.0 Okay
Pros: I booked a one night break for 3. I didn't realise until I read the small print that we could only use the facilities after 5pm and before 10am the next morning. I rang the venue to enquire about upgrading in order to use the facilities, I was on hold for over 30 mins and did not receive a proper email confirmation of the extras that I paid for. On arrival we were told that we could only have lunch at 2pm. We arrived in the dinning room and the buffet had seen better days with food spilt and quite messy and some stations were empty. The chair I sat on was broken. We were referred to as an 'agency booking' so despite paying an upgrade couldn't access our rooms until after lunch. We couldn't do any of the classes that we wanted to as they were booked. The rooms were nice but the experience was expensive and disappointing really.
Cons: Being referred to as an 'agency booking' which had a second class status Classes being full you could prebook at £3 per head but that seemed expensive Messy buffet empty food stations
6.0 Good
Pros: i didn't have breakfast it as it only started at 730 i had to be away before then.
Cons: no bar, people were all a bit healthy, lift was broken. confusing layout of the building, would be easy to get lost.

7.9 Good
Pros: Very good
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff, pool, gym
Cons: I stay once or twice a year with my son for Athletics training camps. The room is usually bigger and with twin beds but this time the room and bed were a bit of a squeeze for us. There was a lot of corridor noise in the night which wasn't great for a good nights sleep and being fresh and rested for the training camp.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: I've stayed in many hotels all around the world, this was fine. Nice bed, choice of pillow type, great shower, good facilities.
Cons: Breakfast was nice but pricey at £15
6.0 Good
Pros: Staff were friendly
Cons: Due to the corona virus all leisure facilities, bar and restaurant were closed so couldn't use the facilities which was the reason I'd booked that hotel. Staff were friendly but didn't offer the option to cancel and get a refund so had to pay full rate regardless

Pros: Great hotel. Just what I needed for a 1 night stay. Harvester next door too.
Cons: Nothing to mention.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff very competent Breakfast very good
Cons: Other guests' behaviour was inappropriate - teenagers running around corridors screaming after 10pm I had to go and tell them to shut up and we also called down to Manager - she took action but they continued and she had to reprimand them again. Felt hotel did all they could to sort out disruption

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great with lots to choose from and the staff where very attentive, eggs ran out and no trouble to get more. The bed was very comfortable, the room was fine with everything you need the only thing the room was very warm ,but in the middle of the night the room went cold
Cons: There isn’t a lot to dislike about this hotel, other than we had a 13 year old daughter with us and had to pay for two rooms because there wasn’t a family room it cost us double the cost.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcoming foyer area with bar and restaurant . Fast check in. Very friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room with an exceptionally comfortable bed! Would definitely stay again.
Cons: Think there could have been much more room service choice..there were only sandwiches/chips to choose from and I think the £5.00 tray charge was excessive. On the plus the room service was prompt and the chips hot, but sandwiches a little lacking in taste and substance.

Pros: The staff were amazing, friendly and welcoming, which made for a very pleasant stay, especially as we needed to stay longer than expected, due to our bathroom renovations taking place! The breakfast options were plentiful and delicious! We were very happy to eat at the restaurant in the evenings, as the menu had plenty of variety on offer and the chef prepared the food to a high standard. The service was excellent and would highly recommend it! Would definitely stay again.
Cons: The hotel decor was tired and old fashioned and needed a face lift. The shower over bath was good, but it was let down by the water seeping onto the floor, which ended up soaking the bath mat every time.

5.4 Okay
Pros: One staff member was professional, friendly and efficient (served us our breakfast in the morning)
Cons: The food was not good. It certainly wasn’t anything close to the pictures in the menu. Staff forgot to bring drinks, one staff member practically threw the vegetable dish on the table, another brought us different sauces to the ones we’d asked for. A fizzy drink we ordered was completely flat, though this was resolved. All small things but these combined made it a disappointing visit. The ladies toilets smelt terrible too. We stayed at the hotel too. The room was adequate but not great. The promised and pre arranged extra bed was not there when we arrived, though this was sorted quickly. We will be visiting the area regularly but we won’t stay here again.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We had to leave before the actual breakfast but these guys had breakfast at the door in the morning for us.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location and the staff were very friendly. The room was large and the hotel has a large garden. It is a lovely building and full of historic features
Cons: It was badly run and a bit chaotic. It wasn't very clean and it is in need of a major refurbishment. The room we had was just a large room with little facilities. It could have done with two armed chairs and a coffee table. Everything looked a bit neglected and grubby. Were charged when we arrived even though I had already paid in advance. We were refunded after I pointed out that the stay had been paid already. The breakfast was included but that consisted of individual cereal packets and toast. If you wanted a Full English this was an extra £7.60!!!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was average. evening meal was great.
Cons: some staff in experienced. I was surprised when on arrival I asked a young member of staff where the gents wc was and I was told I'm not sure I'm a new starter.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast but you pay extra for it!
Cons: The accommodation advertises as "breakfast included", but that breakfast just consists of packets of cereal. For a cooked breakfast you have to pay an extra £7. On a Sunday, breakfast isn't served till 09:00.

Pros: Was ok
Cons: I booked a room that I thought was the french room. But got put in another room that was poor quality. We have. Stayed before and booked the leather room and had that room. It’s bad you see pics of room your booking then get put in another
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely. The little things make all the difference. The toiletries, the coffee maker and the biscuits in a special presentation were nice touches. Definitely come back
Cons: Could not fault it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really nice pub, lively with plenty of atmosphere. Room we stayed in was the Leather Room, which summed it up perfectly. It was more like a suite than a room, really well decorated, with some quirky objects which gave it an interesting appeal. We had a bar meal, which was excellent & huge! Quality food, well presented. If you like real ale, nice selection and well kept. Gins.... how many do you want? Breakfast was excellent too, and plenty of it.
Cons: The only (and I mean only) negative, was that where the bath screen was sealed to the bath, the sealant could do with replacing. We mentioned this to the manageress (only because she asked) and she said she would make a note and get it sorted.

Pros: V comfy bed! :-)
Cons: Very loud disco on until midnight. Could be heard in the bedroom. Had orginally planned to be chatting with friends in the bar for part of the evening - utterly impossible! Wifi didn't work upstairs.

2.0 Mediocre
Pros: helpful staff
Cons: location of room - next to car park - felt very vulnerable. It was very cold.
