Grand Hotel

Good location...otherwise crap

Pros: This hotel has a great location, next door to the main train station. Every other facet is below standards. The room was tiny. The policies absurd. They even charged us $20 each for the "complimentary breakfast". The dirty, tired room featured a fun game: guess the mystery furniture stain. They sell this property as upscale...the only thing grand was the price.

Cons: Almost everything, except location.

Pros: Very convenient lo Central train station.

Cons: The hotel needs major renovations. It's not been maintained well. Wi-Fi was spotty in my room, would come and go. Room felt like it hadn't been updated since the 50's or 60's with the exception of the flat screen TV. I've never seen a hallway that has "hills". The hallway went up and down and that was just odd. The walls are paper thin, it was almost as if there wasn't even a door to my room, hearing people in the hallway, etc. Very low water pressure and the shower head needs to be replaced. My bathtub drain wouldn't drain water until it filled up a few inches and then started to drain (not sure how that works). It did it twice.

In desperate need of a revamp

Pros: It was tired, dirty, and desperately clinging to some sort of old prestige which has long passed. Good location though.

Cons: Dirty, fairly abrupt staff, needs redecorating.
