Clean and comfortable as a hostel. Bed was prepared and towel was provided. Very close to the center and there were different activities going on everyday. Convenient with bike renting service.
Everything needed to be pay as extra. Kitchen use, swimming pool, needed to buy a pad lock... It's all understandable but would have been kinder if the kitchen use and swimming pool were free.
The location was great, although the website should include walking directions from various train and bus stations, as travelers might not have access to wifi and google maps when they first arrive.
There were a couple of staff members who were downright rude. Their quote above check in sums it up, it was something like, we are a hostel so we can't do that. Most hostels I've stayed with are more of the attitude, we are a hostel and we CAN do that! I asked for a hanger to hang my suit on and I was treated as a unicorn. A HANGER???? No, we don't have those. When I replied with shock I was told, WE ARE A HOSTEL. Ok, so that means you can be subpar? Ridiculous. There was trash overflowing, stinking, and leaking on my floor right outside the elevator for the first three days of my stay. YES, 3 days! Unacceptable! Or maybe their attitude was, well, we are a hostel so we can't empty the trash bins. This hostel is owned by a hotel group and lacks the family and friendly vibe I like and use to choose a hostel over a hotel when I travel.
Crazy price per room for a 'hostel'
We stayed as a family of 3 in one room, but a family could be up to 6. Rooms are small, unique layout with 3 bunk beds - so take note, someone needs to be in top bunks. Room was quiet. Beds are comfortable enough. Recommend to pay 20 Kr Extra for access to kitchen area and buy breakfast and snacks at one of 3 supermarkets in 5 minutes walking. Cheaper than eating out all the time. Other good thing about hotel is 5-10 min walk to Tivoli, central Train station and Townhall which means the main town center is only a walk away.
Kitchen area is small so be patient or sociable.
