    In need of a renovation.

The location to downtown was great. The outside of the building looked really nice.

Once you got inside the hotel is old and dated. The rugs were cheep and placed on top of other rugs. I could tell because there was a hole in my room. The room felt dirty and made me feel dirty. I say this after spending 21 years in the military and actually living in dirt. Doors were old. AC needs updating.

    vacinity to workshop

    vicinity to workshop

the quality of mattress was poor, the building and rooms were old and sloppy in repair. dings out of door frames, paint running down window frames onto radiator ..... not a great area for a single woman

    The pictures are deceiving

The staff at the front desk were nice.

The description says it had a microwave and refrigerator which neither was in the room. It was not clean at all. The beds were 2 double beds. The bathroom was gross. The building is very old and we didn't feel safe either. We ended up checking out a couple hours after arrival.

20 minute walk to downtown. Friendly staff. Armed security guard

Carpet smelled like urine, old and outdated. Need for Armed security guard, didn't create the warm and fuzzies for going out alone.

    American Horror Story: Hotel

When my Uber driver arrived to get me out of that horrible place.

When I got to the hotel I wasn’t too sure of the location, lots of homeless standing right OUTSIDE the HOTEL. There was a sketchy vibe through the hotel. Staff was rude and not helpful. My room was outdated math room had mold. Not a Mimi fridge or microwave. The door could easily be pushed open from anyone. The beds were the worse. They sunk in to the middle and I felt springs poking my back all night. I didn’t get any sleep whatsoever. Probably the worse hotel experience I’ve ever had. I planned on staying in Denver for 4 days but that experience ruined it for me. I booked the first flight I could. Never again.

The staff gave us a full refund.

We didn’t end up actually spending the night here. We were hesitant when we saw the neighborhood. Then we walked inside and the lobby was dirty and someone tried to sell us drugs, so we left and called them to cancel our stay.

    Location, ease of registering

Screaming, profanity in front of my room and in the hallways. Traffic noise was loud. Water in the shower ran hot and cold intermittently.

For my husband and I on a mini vacation this was a great place but I wouldn't recommend for kids. As long as you aren't an adult who is bothered by some adult behavior going about then this place is worth the price. We took über every time we went downtown because it's cheaper than driving and paying for parking and there's a great place across the street called "The Irish Snug".

Review on my Halloween 2016 Weekend Stay

I checked in on a Friday afternoon, checked out Sunday afternoon. I'm a 41 old solo traveler and take random trips throughout the year and Denver was this month's trip. I wasn't aware Colfax is a pretty rough street evidenced by a prostitute attempting to sell me outside the hotel my first night. If you are street smart and can handle the "street element" in any major city, I wouldn't let this scare you away from this hotel. There is a liquor store, dispensary, tattoo shop, Voodoo Donuts and a good Irish pub (The Irish Snug) all within a 5 minute walk (and yes I went to all of them). You could get a weird vibe I guess from the lobby and hallways but I was VERY happy when I opened my room door. The AC was perfect at 68 degrees and the beds were super comfy. The microwave and compact fridge always worked great (these fridges are usually useless but this one kept my things COLD.) My biggest complaint was the "breakfast". They need to completely stop this or hire an actual cook to put hot items on the buffet. It is a large barely lit room with no music playing and the "server" is there to just take your breakfast voucher... she doesn't check in on you so it's sort of depressing to eat here. The buffet is limited to: waffles, apples, bananas, hard boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, a few bread choices and coffee. I mean come on.... scrambled eggs and one or two meat selections are in even the worst hotels advertising "breakfast".

The staff was excellent and very helpful.

The rooms need some updates. The carpet and walls were stained.
