Pros: Amazing breakfast

Pros: It is a beautiful place. The owner is very nice and pleasant. The best bnb we have stayed.
Pros: The house was lovely, nice view from the room. Rosemary was a lovely hostess and the breakfast was excellent.
Pros: We had a lovely welcome from Rosemary. The house is lovely and everything was included to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The bedrooms and en-suite rooms were large and had everything that we needed, and the bed was really comfortable.
Pros: Thanks a lot, it was a short but a nice stay.
Pros: Absolutely everything. The quintessential british B&B. Rosemary is a charming and most welcoming hostess. Highly recommend.
Cons: Nothing .It was perfect
Pros: Warm friendly welcome, clean and comfortable room. Lovely place, large bathroom with choice of bath or shower which was a nice change. Next time i will be there with my husband instead of on my own! Great selection for breakfast too, not your average dull menu. Big thumbs up :-)
Cons: I didnt give very good arrival information until not long before actually arriving so the fridge in my room wasnt turned on so that was the only "bad" thing that i can point out but i suppose had i of been more organised it all would of been set up etc. Everything else was spot on. Not a major thing i know but somebody else may find that a problem maybe i dont know?!
Pros: The host was extremely helpful and welcoming. The room was spacious and very smart with a lovely view over the fields. The shower was great, with a big head and lots of hot water. The bed was really comfortable and very wide. Breakfast selection was more than what we required and it was a lovely breakfast room. Thanks for a great stay.

Pros: Staff, food, vibe
Cons: Open windows in dining room
Pros: The staff went over and above to make our stay perfect. The food is excellent value for money and super. Excellent wine list and such a small and intimate hotel. Can’t wait to go back one day.
Pros: From check in to check out nothing was to much trouble, I was treated as a valued customer. Dining room was excellent my room also, very roomy and quiet with a bath tub, would love to stay there again.
Cons: There was absolutely nothing I disliked.
Pros: Delightful hotel Great client base
Pros: the breakfast was superb with a good choice of items. The staff were both helpful and friendly
Cons: there is no lift and the luggage lift was not easy to operate
Pros: We had a most comfortable stay. The dessert wine/port are included in the meal price, which is good value. The wine list is good.
Cons: The garish, mixed tartan seat covers. The hotel grounds were slightly limited.
Pros: The friendly welcome from the owner Tessa, lovely spacious bedroom which had everything you could need, the house was beautifully decorated & furnished, cooked breakfast was of good quality and flavour, we were made to feel very welcome and loved the peaceful location of the property, would definitely recommend this hotel & hope we may return in future
Cons: We stayed for 2 nights and can say the only thing we can think of was the bathroom fan stayed on for a touch too long ... not really worthy of complaint
Pros: Staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and get us reservations for dinner.
Cons: Room felt like an attic space.
Pros: Lovely room with magnificent view.
Cons: Sadly, we were the only guests that night so our experience was not as good as our previous stay two years ago. This place deserves more guests.
Pros: Very good
Cons: Seemed to be no organisation between hotel and booking.com I had to pay twice and then claim the payment back

Pros: Location was very picturesque and ideal for walkers.
Cons: Nearest town was 7 miles away so a bit remote for a family. Not all rooms have en-suite facilities.
Pros: Very peaceful setting. Very helpful and kind hosts. Good facilities as there was use of a kitchen. The nearest town is Duns, about five miles away. We used the Black Bull p/h. Good ale, excellent food and friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing really. Fully met our expectations. It was a bonus to have the use of a kitchen as we ate in one night.
Pros: Comfortable place to relax and chill
Cons: Nothing tick all of our boxes
Pros: Peace and quiet the view . Couple very helpful suggesting where to eat and how to find places .
Cons: It would benefit from updating
Pros: This is the place if you want to get away from it all and walk in beautiful countryside. Very tranquil. Lovely hosts.
Cons: If you want to travel a lot, it is out of the way so adds to the driving.
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful
Cons: Single bed in family room had lumpy matress and uncomfortable for an adult
Pros: Breakfast was superb! Location was lovely and peaceful with a very friendly and welcoming reception.
Pros: Great friendly hosts. Really considerate
Cons: Mattress in one of bedrooms was past its best. Could do with renewal but otherwise everything else was great
Pros: The location is isolated and stunningly beautiful. The accommodation is comfortable and the owners delightful and helpful. It was a very pleasant stay.
Cons: Finding it is a bit of an adventure as there are no signs and the satnav(GPS) only takes you to a row of cottages and does not tell you to go further along the road. The hot and powerful showers are over baths and could be a problem for those with mobility problems.
Pros: Owners of the one green hope cottage were such lovely people and made our stay very personal.
Cons: £75 is probably too much to pay for a night as I would love to stay there a week but that would be very pricey! Maybe a deal for more than two nights would be good for marketing.
Pros: we were received a warm welcome and the hotel was in a lovely tranquill location.
Pros: The owners bill and alison were very friendly people the location was excellent the service was firstclass we would stay again
Pros: Quiet and restful, fabulous scenery, excellent breakfasts.
Pros: We absolutely loved the whole package - things could not have been easier for us - the friendliness of the staff and the beauty of the whole area was amazing
Pros: the restful ambience, situation and proprieters of guest house and was a good base for exploring the surrounding tourist destinations as well as the places of interest a little more off the beaten track.
Pros: From the artistic breakfast to the glorious views, the friendly, charming hosts made us feel right at home.

Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities. This hotel has 2 meeting rooms available for events. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Great hotel and great food, will return back.
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Excellent location. Good restaurant.
Cons: Not as peaceful as expected because of large vehicles passing at night, but not the hotel's fault. Very unhappy with response to 'search' for expensive toiletries which we accidentally left behind in the shower cubicle. Our responsibility, of course, but we locked the room door before leaving and phoned back the same day, knowing exactly what and where they were left. Only to be told they 'could not find them'. This is not acceptable. Staff should have the same moral responsibility as anyone else.
Pros: Yes very upgraded shower room staff and everything
Cons: Dog in the bar
Cons: Evening meal was very rushed.
Pros: The staff were very nice as was the delicious food, a perfect pit stop at our halfway point
Cons: Evening meal, cost
Pros: Lovely location, great room, superb food and service.
Cons: Loved it all
Pros: Staff were very welcoming, food lovely & the hotel had a relaxed quiet atmosphere. Would go back again.
Pros: Food was fine, but not as good as it used to be. see below. Room was lovely and we had one of their standard rooms. So their better rooms will be really nice. It's a nice warm, welcoming, relaxing place in a lovely part of the country. Swinton is a nice village. The staff and new owner were great - I do wish them every success - just hope they can sort the couple of niggles
Cons: Food was good but a few things missed from the order - running out of stuff but not mentioning it at time of order. Or simply forgetting the salad to go with my meal. Couldn't remember if it was included but until we saw the menu for dessert, wasn't sure. The food wasn't as good as it used to be - good but not as good. I've stayed here many times in the past but the place is looking a little tired in places - it's not changed since I first stayed in 2004. Actually - the Gents loos look like they were recently update and if this is a sign of things to come, then it looks positive. The place has got new owners, who clearly are making an effort but it takes time (and money) to sort a place when you take over - the staff and owner were great and I will try the Wheatsheaf again in the future to see if they have sorted the place. I have an affection for the place and I do hope it gets back to where it always was. So please support the Wheatsheaf and it will get there again.

Pros: Very central location and a hearty tradional breakfast. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
Cons: A residents lounge would be a good idea.
Pros: Small, adorable place with very friendly atmosphere and staff. It was possible to get a meal, and the breakfast was SO GOOD! And we were not charged for a dog! ( which was a nice surprise too).
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Morag. Noone should be that cheerful whilst being so busy but she is. Nothing is too much trouble for her.
Cons: It is what it is, an old pub hotel. The new management are working hard to update the rooms etc and very quick to deal with any snags that occur but I had difficulty with the banging doors from early risers and staff first thing.
Pros: Comfy bed and HP Wizards Unite Inn :)
Cons: It was quite warm in the room.
Pros: The hotel was rather dated. My top floor twin room however was very comfortable for one person, quiet, modern, fresh decor and ultra clean. Tea/coffee/ toiletries etc all provided. Free parking on the street outside. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was cooked to my liking Sunday evenings are usually reasonably prices - this was excellent value for money
Pros: We enjoyed only one night, but we were friendly welcomed by helpful staff. Large homemade breakfast, very large and comfortable bed. Our room was newly furnished with furniture and very clean. Thank you. We highly recommend to others.
Pros: Staff and breakfast great
Pros: Looking for a budget option after a long day’s walking. Really friendly staff, accommodation was fine and food hit the spot.
Pros: A lovely old place dated but clean with very helpful staff. Highly recomended
