Liked the room although the lighting was very poor. Wonderful views from 3rd floor room. Great leisure facilities.
The eggs at breakfast you had to order separately from the serve yourself buffet. Every morning we had to seek someone out to order eggs as we were never asked if we would like to order. The poached eggs arrived on a water laden plate with no room on the table to accommodate any extra crockery and then you were expected to hold a watery plate, dish up your own eggs then wonder what the the hell to do with the watery plate after the waiter had left you long ago to cope on you own. Why not just have eggs self service with the buffet as in plenty of other hotels! We also ate at the Brasserie at the top bar overlooking the golf course. Lovely views but really lousy food. We ordered a sharing platter as did the couple next to us. A strange mix of haggis balls, chicken wings that had been reheated not freshly cooked, olives and other stuff that was not very appetising. Neither couple finished the platter and both thought how poor the food was.
Very nice location
We cannot recommend the restaurant. Quality of food and taste was below average.
I requested additonal things for my room on arrival for my anniversary and the staff couldn't have been more helpful! 10/10 will be back.
Liked the place, clean comfy bed, lovely grounds.
When we arrived we got directions to our room on a map, had great difficulty finding our rooms, by luck we found a member of staff who helped, very difficult to find our way around they need more signs, eg: floor numbers, reception signs, toilet signs,
Very pleasant hotel in a country club and golf resort. The room was nice a nice place to stay on my way south. There were a large number of facilities on the premises and if I had stayed longer, would have made better use of them.
Escape to a thousand acres of relaxation. The Dalmahoy Hotel Country Club is a historic country property set amongst 1,000 acres of beautiful parkland with two 18-hole golf courses, a luxurious spa, and tons of leisurely facilities. Travelers, tourists, and all of the above enjoy a getaway at the gorgeous hotel.
In February 2019, a multi-million-dollar renovation plan was announced in which the hotel will undergo a major refurbishment. The latest upgrade includes all 208 of the rooms in the newer part of the hotel, as the seven manor house rooms and suites were already recently refurbished.
The hotel can be directly accessed via A71 road. Only two minutes away is the M8 motorway, while Edinburgh is 20 minutes’ drive. Amenities are grand and plentiful at the Country Club, offering an impressive 18-hole golf course, featuring both championship golf-course and PGA-approved golf academy. A leisure club with modern gym equipment and fitness classes is also offered at the hotel, as well as an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, and tennis court.
The award-winning restaurant, The Pentland, offers freshly prepared cuisine and panoramic views of Dalmahoy’s green parkland. Informal dining can also be found at The Brasserie restaurant and James Braid bar.
A selection of different room types are available at the hotel, including a Classic Room for two with a modern flair, Period Rooms that offer a nod to Scottish history and seven beautiful Manor House suites. All of the spacious rooms offer Hypnos beds, 32-inch flat-screen smart TVs, en-suite bathrooms, tea and coffee making facilities, as well as mini fridges. Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi throughout the property and free parking is also available.
