In a hall of the former mill a robust studio has been arranged, with 10 large easels. In the gallery of the mill an exhibition space for contemporary art has been established. There are two rooms of about 50 m2 for changing exhibitions. The architecture of this former grain mill is clearly industrial. According to the principles of farmer cooperatives in the'50s, functional, robust and solid are the key words. At the same time, the building has some Italian features as well. Like the startling rhythmic of windows, beautiful roof structures and two challenging grain silos reminding of sturdy Tuscan towers. Respecting the original architecture, the mill was recently thoroughly renovated. The atmosphere of the old mill is still visible in the woodwork and the bare or rough stucco walls. Hoppers, grain pipes, drive shafts and hoists also remained intact. The beautiful details perfectly reflect the old post-industrial function. No wonder this superior piece of industrial heritage was marked as a monument. Today, the former silo accommodates a house, a large painting studio, a gallery, lounge rooms and lovely guest rooms. Epe The mill is on the outskirts of the village of Epe. And immediately borders the Veluwe with moors, vast woods and the wide river area around the river IJssel. Walkers, cyclists and nature lovers can enjoy, as the woods practically start at the door. Also art, culture, gastronomy, wellness and relaxation are widely available in the vicinity.
