Cons: We took the Casablanca suite which was very spacious for a family with 2 children, 11 yrs old and 1 yrs old. We thought the lighting could be better in the room.

Pros: A wonderful stay at Riad Alya. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. Most of all - the staff was so welcoming and accommodating - doing everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. We ate at the riad several times and the food was spectacular. Perfect location as well - on the edge of the medina - so it is easy to access from outside and inside the old city.

Pros: Breakfast was amazing. The staff, Mohammed and Simon made us feel at home, and went out of their way to make our trip memorable in Fes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had the most wonderful stay at this riad! We got information about where to park and how to find the way to the riad. It’s not easy to find a riad in fes, but this one was already marked on the streets so you could’t get it wrong. Also the communication was very fast and clear. We immediately got tea and cookies when we arrived. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had the best breakfast and the seasonal juice was amazing! Simon really made us feel like we were home in the riad. We had a nice chat and he brought us tea by the pool. He made sure we didn’t miss anything! The room was great and we even got an update to a more expensive room. Everything is cleaned every day so it was very clean. The room also has everything you need. It even has a jacuzzi on the terras! You also have a great view over the city from the rooftop. The rooms are as in the pictures. An amazing place to get away from the busy old medina. The riad is just a few minutes away from the most known places in Fes like the blue gate. We didn’t have dinner at the riad, but we saw other people having dinner and the food looked really good! If we return to Fes, we will also return to this riad and we will recommend it to other people.
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything the moment I entered the Riad and the hospitality of Hussain To our royal suit and the terrace outside Everything was just perfect

Pros: Beautiful and clean lines . Very central . Friendly personal . Amazing rooftop.

Pros: We received a free upgrade as the room we had booked was still unavailable as we arrived to the riad at 10.30am. The staff were amazing, absolutely went out of their way to ensure your stay was great. Would stay again.
Cons: It was all great
10.0 Excellent
Cons: We were very positively surprised by the service, the kindness and professioalism of the staff and the beauty of the riad. We were very well cared of and had a tailor made service, the staff was able to be very flexible to each of our wishes. The location is great, it's quiet and the breakfast excellent. We definitely recommend this place!

Pros: Immaculate hotel. Stunning Riad. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice decoration! Super good and warm staff. Nice food. Unique bath. Great location and parking. Very happy about it.
Cons: If has pool or some leisure will be great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful Riad, great food, excellent staff! Omar was a great host - he made the stay even more comfortable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The courtyard and architecture/decor is absolutely stunning. Intricate tiling, gentle bird sounds, beautiful lush greenery and little knick-knack displays along the walkways. We had dinner at the riad, and it was by far one of our favourite meals.
Cons: We were quite happy with everything. It's located in a quiet neighbourhood which was lovely. It's close to the road so you don't have to carry your suitcases far. However, because the streets of Fez don't always connect, to get to most attractions you have to walk around a long wall which adds a few more minutes to any excursion.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The welcoming was excellent with mint tea and delicious biscuits. Very good quality morning in a very delightful courtyard with beautiful plants. Staff were willing to respond to every request in a professional and friendly way. All the areas of the riad and the room were clean and furnished with good taste. Within a 10-minute walk you can be in the center of Medina. Finally our stay in this riad was wonderful
Cons: Everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A little oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Fez. The courtyard area with tuneful parrot is a wonderful place to relax. Very comfortable rooms. We were welcomed by tea and home made biscuits upon arrival. Overall highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an excellent stay at the most amazing Riad we’ve seen so far. Besides that, breakfast and dinner were excellent (what they can make with aubergines!!!), the staff was friendly, the atmosphere was great and we felt really comfortable and welcome.
Cons: There is absolutely nothing not to like!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The internal courtyard was wonderful and the roof garden was also quite nice. The rooms were very spacious and pristinely clean. On arrival we were greeted with lovely mint tea and homemade cookies. The service was excellent and the staff extremely helpful, friendly and kind. Omar is an asset to the Riad, a fantastic individual. It is worth having dinner in the evenings there, the food was excellent though breakfasts were a little disappointing but fine.
Cons: There are two things that could be improved on: 1. Apart from on arrival, we did not have any water bottles left in our room which is a standard practice. 2. On checking out, we were not given the option to pay in local currency on our card, which is again normal practice, and the staff member swiping our card simply choose to bill us in the currency of our card instead without asking which is poor business practice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the best Riad we stayed in Morocco! The place is beautiful, like living in a palace! Super friendly and accommodating staff, especially Omar! Our room was huge and beautifully decorated. The Riad is very close to the gate of the medina which is important when you arrive with the luggage, so taxi can drop you off really close to the Riad and you don't need to drag your luggage through the medina's narrow streets. The Riad is about 10-15 min walk to the Blue gate. But the best part of the Riad is the restaurant!!! The best food we ate in Morocco! Delicious! Don't bother eating outside
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at Riad al Bartal in fes. Omar was extremely helpful, polite and kind. Our stay was only brief but the riad was very homely, comfortable and peaceful. It was a short walk to the Médina in fes. We especially loved the tea served on arrival, and that Omar arranged for a quick breakfast of biscuits and tea in the morning as we were departing before breakfast was served.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The best thing about Fes was Omar - he is an absolute delight!! He was able to arrange last minute walking tour for us and greeted us upon arrival with tea and cookies. The property is lovely and picturesque and a 10 minute walk from the Blue Gate! Lovely little spot in an otherwise chaotic city.
Cons: We booked a taxi with the night staff for 100 MAD and the next morning the other guy was unaware of it, so he told us to go grab a taxi near the big road. No problem! We got one and it ended up being 20 MAD. So not only did the Riad inflate the price five fold but the original taxi driver followed us to the train station, harassed us, and demanded that we pay him even though he did not provide any service to us! Save your money and your frustration, don't book transfers with them. If you do, make sure all staff are communicating.

Pros: We stayed few days and everything was perfect. The riad is very beautiful, we stayed in the purple room that was big and very comfortable- in our opinion the best room, just beautiful. The terrace is also very nice, great for spending some relaxing time in the evening. Breakfast also very good and the staff super nice. We highly recommend it!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was amazing. The best Riad we have been in Morocco. The host Idriss is extremely helpful and caring. 10/10!!! 100% would recommend!
Cons: Maybe it is a bit difficult to find but the search is worth
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing, the best Riad we have been in Morocco! The service is by far not comparable to anything we had before. Idriss, the host, was very helpful and attentive to everything giving us amazing tips for the city, places where to eat and things to see. The breakfast at the inner patio was fantastic with all type of sweets. The decoration of the house is superb and the morrocan ornaments make you feel like you are in a museum. The rooms are beautiful, with high ceilings and old moroccan furniture. Location is great and price value as well. We could also pay by card!
Cons: I liked everything!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Our host was probably the best we have met in whole Morocco, super helpful with everything we needed and organising everything A-Z in his Riad!
Cons: As probably expected, finding the way to the Riad in the Derbs of Fez Medina is super tricky and challenging.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were really helpful and great It was comfortable Breakfast was great
Cons: Location was not easy for us to find however any property in the old madina area was not easy to figure out overall we had great time here
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is good and staff is very welcoming and helpful. The Riad was beautiful.
Cons: Bed was a little hard for my liking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is divine. You will not regret staying here. We were blown away by the rooms, the facilities, the food, the staff. It was all great.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful riad located down the street from the medina. I am so glad it’s just a short walk away from all the crowd and chaos. The details of the hotel, such as all the tile work and decor is beautifully designed. The staff from beginning to end was friendly, professional, and prompt. Nour was so helpful, from arranging shuttle service, to helping us with an overview of Fez and guiding us with a map to cover the town, to coordinating dinner for us. Their mint tea is amazing and delicious and the best tasting mint tea of all the places I’ve been to in Morocco.
Cons: You have to walk through a dark, dingy pathway to get to this riad.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming to weary travelers. The location of this Riad is really wonderful. The rooms are immaculate and there is full service and hospitality for all requests. The Riad is really quite amazing in its detail and history. The meals for dinner were very delicious and the breakfast in the morning prepared us for our day. This place is superb. We are seasoned travelers and would rate this as one of our best places so far in Morocco.
Cons: There really is nothing we didn’t like except the WiFi only worked in the lobby. Considering the architecture and solid structure, that is not surprising. We were happy to lounge in the comfortable lobby with natural light from the ceiling. The staff here are so friendly — all of them! Thank you Nour. I will see you again in one week.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cool place to stay. We had there only 1 night, but so far it was the best service in Morocco. Thank you for a very pleasant stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Riad, beautiful palace and very nice staff. Highly recommendable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect. Also, ms. Nour was very helpful and kind. She helped us on how to go around the city and recommend us several sights and restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, so good decoration, close to parking , easy to find, warm service
Cons: Air conditioner is a little nosiy
9.5 Excellent
Pros: All the staffs are extremely extremely nice and friendly. Offered us dessert and mint teas upon arrival. Gave us a really comprehensive guide around the city. And even helped us contact the drivers. The room is big and comfy as well!
Cons: Aways go there through the main gate; otherwise, you might get lost in the small aisles nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Especially the staffs (Hanan, Khalit, Najib, Nuar)and the cook (madam Radir)! They are so friendly and welcoming us like their friends and family. They helped us with tour arrangements, our laundries and many more. The foods that they served were so good that we had our dinner there every night. Hanan gave us in depth Médina tour. We were exploring the Fes Médina like the local. She is excellent!
Cons: Weak WiFi signal, but we are on vacation so it doesn’t matter that much!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This Riad is an oasis inside the medina’s labyrinth. Excellent and professional service. All was very polite and ready to help us in any way the could! They gave us excellent recommendations on were to eat, drink, sightseeing! Also, on our last day they didn’t hesitate into preparing and service for ur breakfast, almost 3&half hours earlier than their schedule in order for us to leave their accommodation full. The Riad was very nice, clean and tidy. In our room we had everything that we might need.
7.5 Good
Pros: Place is nice. Very accessible.
Cons: On our second day, there’s like a “little flood” , I don’t know wherr it came from. Net connection is kinda slow.
Dar Bensouda - Fez - Building

9.1 Excellent (872 reviews)
C$ 166+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Dar Bensouda in Fes (Fes El Bali), you'll be a 5-minute walk from University of Al Quaraouiyine and 14 minutes by foot from Medersa Bou-Inania. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All of the staff were extremely helpful and provided many additional services, including pickup from the train station and sending someone to find you if you got lost in the medina. The layout and views from the rooftop terrace were spectacular and the meals were excellent. We particularly loved our junior suite but it might be difficult for someone who couldn't climb stairs well. To get to the room you have to climb up several narrow stairs and you also need to climb stairs to go the bathroom in the suite. However, if one is fit, our room would be a good choice.
Cons: I wish the pool was a bit bigger but working within the constraints of an old riad doesn't allow many options for placement of things like swimming pools.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room, beautiful pool. Good breakfast buffet by the pool.
Cons: Location was not the best, was far away from the Medina in a very confusing area, difficult to navigate even with Google Maps. This made getting food very difficult so we had some very mediocre deliveries. Hotel restaurant is okay, but the menu is very odd and quite limited, as well as being very expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All i can say is that we had the most wonderful experience and would recommend anyone to stay at this wonderful establishment .......... we cat wait to go back !! ..........thank you for an amazing experience !!
Cons: We liked everything !! :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This Riad was the most authentic and beautiful from our trip! Very clean, comfortable and well serviced. Although a bit larger / more hotel-like than other riads, the staff were very attentive and professional. The common areas felt very welcoming and the rooftop had incredible views! Definitely recommend booking this Riad (especially the prestige room which is set in the original building with such high ceilings!!)
Cons: The location, although walking distance to most attractions, was a bit far from the main souks. So it requires a bit of walking through empty streets / alleyways to reach the Riad, which can be a bit scary at night!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The riad is beautiful and authentic. Different little courtyard with great decoration. High ceiling bedroom and comfortable bed. Everyone is very helpful and make you feel at home. Each time we had to come back late, someone rushed to come pick us up at the closest door of the medina.
Cons: You need 10mn to reach the closest door of the medina
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely interior design, have different design from different corner. Great place for people who love to take picture ! The restaurant food is really nice!
Cons: Is bit difficult to remember the hotel location too many small ally
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. The riot was beautiful, the room was baseball in terms, full of details. The bathroom was very clean and no bad smell at all. The breakfast was the best out of all the riads I stayed in the Morocco. The manager was very nice and friendly and spent quite a bit of time talking with us.
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful old palace perfectly renovated in the old Medina. Peaceful courtyards, little pool, fantastic view from the rooftop terrace. Beautiful books all around. Home made food, local and fresh. Staff is friendly and helpful. After a few days you feel part of a family. A very elegant place. The old Medina being a maze of little passages, the hotel can be hard to find, it is highly recommended to let the hotel organise the transfer from the airport.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I stayed this Riad with a friend for 2 nights. This was my first time to be in Morocco and there were so many unexpected things happened, but staff were so kindly and friendly helped us. (Announcing the airport transfer in advance, showing us where to go in Fes, preparing check-out even though we left early like 2am!!) Thank to them, we enjoyed staying in Fes ☺️ The location was difficult to find but highly recommended to stay this lovely place!! And we also recommend to eat at the restaurant for dinner. You can enjoy local Moroccan foods and the best couscous!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best place to stay in Fes. Truly magic. The property itself is stunning, and the team went above and beyond for us.
Cons: Nothing!

Staff at the hotel were welcoming - willing to make suggestions on restaurants, book tours, and organize transportation. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in Fes - location is convenient and easy to find. Looking forward to returning in the future.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The supper was amazing! I didn’t have the chance to do the cooking class but it seemed like a worthwhile experience. The decor was beautiful. Terrasse was nice and the sun hits in the afternoon.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff. They booked a Médina guide for us and hammam services. Plus they gave us great recommendations. Great breakfasts- different everyday. They helped us with directions to the riad and parking. Both can be very difficult to find in Fes. The riad emailed me directions before we left home and then helped me via what’s app as we arrived in the city. Also, when we were in Fed in was HOT! They adjusted our AC so we were really comfortable when we needed some downtime.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: There are loads of reasons to love Riad Anata. I love the terrance with perfect sunlight, I love the staffs whom are so friendly and helpful. I really feel welcomed. I've stayed here with a friend for 2 night in the white room & the red room. Frankly, I like the white room more with a sightly bigger washroom :P Location is great, just 7-10mins walk to the blue gate.
Cons: There's problem about the hot water system at the red room, the hot water ran out while my friend is doing shower after me. It does happened in other riad too and we think it may due to other guests are doing shower at the same time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, welcoming staff and the best food we at in Fes. Said was super professional and made our stay very comfortable. The riad is beyond beautiful with astonishing interior and exterior design and always clean. Definitely worth the money!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: we stayed 4 nights and loved it! I would highly recommend to stay here! the whole team is so lovely. when I was sick, they helped me and made extra special tea and rice. I felt like being at home. Thank you so much!!
Cons: nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff came to meet us at the taxi lot so we wouldn’t get lost. We only stayed one night but had to leave early so they made us breakfast to go without hesitation. They also ensured we had a ride in the morning and welcomed us very warmly. A wonderful experience albeit short.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location!! But what makes this hotel top notch is their hospitality and the FOOD! We ate dinner and breakfast at the riad our entire stay because the food was amazing. Saiid and The chef (can’t remember her name!!) were the absolute best. Would love to come back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at Riad Anata are incredible! We loved the warmth and service of Mohammad, Said and the delicious food prepared by Samira! They were all very welcoming and kind to us and our young son, which we loved. It felt like home. Mohammad in particular also took the time to teach our son Darija and gave us excellent tips about how to navigate Fes and the Médina, which was so helpful! The room and riad were beautiful and it was wonderful to return to a lovely space after our long days out. It was also in a central location and we felt very safe walking in the day and at night because the streets around the riad were well-lit. It was also my husband’s birthday while we were in Fes and Mohammad booked us a great restaurant (Cafe Clock) with a special treat for my husband. We loved our time in Fes but mostly because of the attention to detail and kindness of the staff at Riad Anata. InshaAllah we hope to return one day and would highly recommend it to others.
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: The property is gorgeous and very well decorated. We had dinners on both nights during our stay. Really nice food and delicious drinks. We also enjoyed rooftop where we watched stars and sang together. You can ask them to prepare you a pot of hot mint tea to bring to the rooftop as well. Just make sure to tip the waiters.
Cons: Old town in Fes is very dirty. When we got off the bus and followed the luggage guys for about 10 minutes into old town we were so worried, but it turned out very nice inside! Also the twin beds are small. One of my friend is 186cm tall and had some issue not falling from his bed. But overall good stay.

Pros: The hotel is located in a charming old house (riad) in the heart of the medina in Fez. It has been lovingly restored with many charming details.
Cons: It was a little hard to find, but that is very common in the Fez medina. The staff were expecting our arrival and came to meet us at the nearest parking area outside the medina (a car-free zone).

Pros: The staff was wonderful. There was always a smile and people were only too happy to assist even when there were language barriers. There was spontaneous knocks at the door with a tray of mint tea and biscuits, there was an offer to go into the new city to buy our bus tickets... the room was spacious and reset each day. Very affordable. Make sure you try Miriam’s marmalade. Yum!
Cons: Even though the Riad has been renovated, on arrival there was the smell of mould. I could see mould in the walls of the bathroom, and hot water was sometimes not available....

Pros: Great decor. Good staff. Very good breakfast spread.
Cons: Location was good, but needs short walk with all luggage.

Pros: The Riad has a lovely common area that is comfortable and inviting to lounge in or enjoy Moroccan tea in. The hosts-Tahir was exceptionally friendly and attentive. He provided us a map and recommendations. The location of the Riad is about a 15 minute walk to the heart of the old city.

Pros: The staff were excellent. Good reception.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good riad 5 minutes walking from the main port in the Medina. Very big room and bathroom with all the necessary for a nice staying. Beautiful terrace and very gentle staff. Very clean. Suggested!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Loved the beautiful patio with fabulous wall deco, furniture and fountain in the middle. Such a calm and relaxing space. The staff was very nice and helpful. The diner was delicious. Eating authentic food at an authentic atmosphere of this old riad is definitely part of Moroccan experiences, worthwhile trying. I fully recommend Riad Zamane.
Cons: No issue about this wonderful riad. — In the neighborhood, some youths / children idling at the street were sometimes noisy (including late at night) and annoying. This may be a common issue for many different riads located in the same street. (Though, we are foreign visitors and are allowed to stay in local people’s living space, so it is by no means intended to impose tourists’ comfort standards.)
7.5 Good
Pros: Main atrium was beautiful and ornate, the suite had a nice private terrace. Staff member Abu was also very friendly and helped us to feel at home
Cons: Bedroom and bathroom were tired, and we would have appreciated a duvet. We were also asked to return the key on leaving the riad for dinner as they only had one! We were also asked to pay the bill in cash which wasnt mentioned on booking through this site, which caused a little inconvenience.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice central courtyard and convenient location
Cons: We were located on the rooftop room which was not convenient, stayed only 1 night so was okay. Also the staff insisted on payment by cash, every though we preferred card payment. They were very insistent about this, and left a bad taste
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect, couple of minutes walk from the medina. Room was large, comfortable and clean. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful at all hours of the day.

Pros: We really appreciated the beautiful Riad and the kindness of the employees.
Cons: The price of the dinner was elevated in comparison to other riads and restaurants around. In equivalent places, the same menu costed half the price. We believe the breakfast should include a selection of fruits.

Pros: It's a charming base from which to explore this part of Morocco. Clean room upon arrival, comfy bed, good shower/toiletries, the staff really friendly and ready to help you. The breakfast selection is brilliant and extensive, with a variety of cheeses, pastries, fruit and cereal, as well as fresh squeezed juice and excellent coffee. And a menu (in the photo) was available for free for those who wants to order additional eggs, bacon, sausage, etc... (just ask the waiter for it). The restaurant is terrific, you can have a traditional moroccan dinner with typical dishes with selected ingredients. Everything is fresh, in fact they want clients reserve in advance. We will definitely come back!

Pros: Atmospheric riad, spacious room, decorated under Morrocan architecture! Colourful tiles, king size bed! Amazing view from the terrace!Helpful staff, especially Aziz! Don't forget to search for Mehir to walk you through the labyrinth of the Medina!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This Riad (hotel) is located close to the edge but within the old city (Medina) – it requires assistance to access, as taxis and other wheeled vehicles have no direct access. The Riad will arrange to meet your taxi at the closest main gate. It features a beautiful atrium, three stories in height, and onto which all the rooms have a direct outlook. There is also a roof terrace with recreation area and good views of the city. While there is no elevator, the obliging staff are only too willing to carry your suitcases to your room. A traditional breakfast is included in the tariff, and a limited-menu dinner can also be provided at an additional charge if desired. The proprietor, Ahmed, is friendly and obliging. For example, he arranged to purchase a train ticket for me so that I did not need to make a special trip to the train station (online ticket purchases seem to be restricted to those with a Moroccan credit card). The free wi-fi worked well, and the rooms were elegant and charming, with an old-world, Arabic ambience. Ahmed also arranged for an English-speaking Guide for me, as it would be impossible to negotiate the narrow streets, lanes and alleyways of the Medina without a Guide. Fortunately, the Medina in Fez does not permit wheeled vehicles of any kind (except small trolleys), which is a great advantage over the equivalent precinct in Marrakech, where you take your life into your hands as the sometimes fast-moving scooters etc. negotiate their way around obstacles such as pedestrians! Fez uses donkeys and mules to transport heavier loads through the streets and laneways of the Medina (beware the manure).
Cons: I did find, however, that the lighting level in my room was a bit too low for functional requirements. My only criticism was that my Guide appeared to be nothing more than a tout for various tourist venues and retail establishments. At every stop, I was passed over to a merchant who started doing a sales pitch. I told the Guide I wasn't really interested in buying tourist souvenirs, but he took no notice (he's probably on a commission).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, super friendly staff and great rooms with great beds. The best WiFi we had in Morocco. When we didn’t want to pay for laundry (we are cheap) and did it ourselves in the shower, they still hang dried and folded it for free. The owner and staff were very nice in helping us and making their selves available.
Cons: A couple people liked to hang outside the road and follow us trying to convince us to do a tour or go to “their mom’s” restaurant, not Dar Anebar’s fault but really annoying. This happened every single day. Other than that the location was great, just know which way to the Médina and do your best to remember how to get back.

Pros: It’s a perfect stay here ! The whole Riad is beautiful ,with finest decoration !Everything is fine here ! The food is fresh and good !The staff is helpful and nice ! The room is tidy and spacious. When you bathing , you will hear some songs from the birds outside !
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great-- pastries, bread, eggs, sometimes fruit, coffee, and fresh squeezed juice. The room was gorgeous and beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, if a little small compared to our riad in Marrakech of comparable cost. The food at the restaurant for dinner is much better than most riad restaurants. Extremely well flavored and delicate, with elegant presentation and some modern tweaks on traditional Moroccan dishes. Definitely recommend eating here at least once during your stay, if not more! The common areas were really the standout-- the central open air courtyard, the libraries and sitting rooms, and the spa were all beautiful and each decorated a little bit differently-- modern, traditional Berber, eclectic. I wish the fountains and water features had been working, as that would have just added the little extra "oomph" that would have set it over the top. The spa and hammam were our favorite of our entire multi-week stay in Morocco-- and we went to 4 different ones, ranging from local and cheap, to fancy and Western at 5-star hotels. Not only were the facilities beautiful and calm, but both of our attendants (hammam, and then masseuse) gave us the best treatments we experienced in the country! Both were comparable to service we would expect at a high-end American spa. They have laundry service, which is especially valuable when you have been traveling for awhile. The rooftop terrace is amazing, and probably the best part of the property. You have a beautiful view of the sunset, and they will bring you your breakfast or mint tea to sip while you are up there. While we were there, a family of kittens was always playing around. Gorgeous! I wish there were more lounge chairs/shaded pavilions to better take advantage of the view.
Cons: There are no hand rails to help you up and down the steep stairs, which was problematic for my older, retired parents. This made it especially difficult for them to take advantage of the terrace. The location is just okay. Certainly walkable to the souqs and major sites, but not in the middle of them. I would advise staying closer to the Blue Gate if you want to to be closer to that. Still, it is relatively near a good plaza where a taxi can drop you off, and then the staff will come meet you and transfer your luggage. It made it quiet, and more residential with more locals.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Even before we arrived we were so pleased with the communication by Otmane and his staff! In all our years of travel there have been only I'd say a handful of places that have provided service like they did and we had not even checked in yet! When we arrived Otmane had sent a staff member to great and take us the Riad which was very helpful! Now the journey truly begins on the outside it is an unassuming Riad but the second you enter the doors you are taken aback by the beauty of the entrance and riad! Otmane was ever so kind to accommodate our requests and help guide us on places to go even though we came late in the day! You are greeted with mint tea and snacks while your bags are recieved by the staff taken to your suite. The suite was a Moroccan/French dream! We fell in love with it immediately and every detail was magnificent. The terrace is the real gem you can see the entire Medina and at sunrise it is beautiful. Otmane and the staff were amazing and we will be staying here during our next visit!! This place is special!
Cons: There is nothing we didn't like!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The exquisite renovation of the Riad with quality finishes, artwork and interior design. A magnificent rooftop with panoramic views of the Fes medina where breakfast was served each morning. The attentive staff were second to none. You could not find a more relaxing residence to return to after a day's exploration of the attractions of Fes.
Cons: Nothing. Our experience at Karawan Riad has been one of the best in our travels.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms, the courtyard and the rooftop terrace were gorgeous.
Cons: No alcohol. Lack of atmosphere on the terrace.

Pros: Owner was there and was so gracious He showed us his before and after photos of the renovation. Really enjoyed our brief stay! I fell in love with the design elements. The library, my favorite room, was worthy of Architectural Digest. Merci Beaucoup, Lionel! Beverly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We traveled from Casablanca to Marrakesh then onto Ouzazatite, from there to some Luxury Glamping in beautiful tents in Mergouza. We then traveled onto Fez for this incredible stay at Karawan Riad. Our favorite of the 14 day trip. Everything was amazing! The beautiful unique suites, (for which our group took 6) the cozy relaxing library, spacious courtyard and rooftop terrace, along with intimate dining made for our best Riad on our two week trip. The food was delicious and beautifully plated. The staff were available to handle all our needs. And as a bonus we met the very hospitable owner Leonel. He shared two nights entertaining us with the history, pictures and details of this 10 year project. Taking this old palace and delicately restoring it to its finest. It’s absolutely perfect!! We all highly recommend this Riad. We will be back! Thank you to Leonel and his staff for making this stay one of the highlights of our trip! Nina & John Freer Alys Beach, Florida

Pros: Everything about the place is just perfect. 10 mins walk from Medina, incredibly beautiful house and very welcoming staff, the room was spacious and clean, a rooftop terrace has an good view
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Since we traveled with kids, we had 2 rooms. Both decorated in Moroccan style, were grant and spacious with private bathrooms and connected with each other. Tons of light filtering through the seven foot glass windows. Plenty of fresh towels and toiletry. Two story moroccan style foyer takes your breath away! Simple breakfast, like in most Riads, consisted in different types of bread, jams, honey and yogurt. We left at 4:00am for an early flight and they made us breakfast to go! Amazing people!
Cons: Sometimes there would be a strong smell coming from the floor drains in one of the bathrooms. I placed a towel on top of it and it helped some. Too many saves in the closets, and little space for cloths.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful Riad with really tall ceilings. Very clean and nice bathroom. Very nice breakfast!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent. The room was comfortable and there was even a hairdryer in the bathroom! Breakfast was excellent, with fresh juice and good coffee.
Cons: The setup for the room door. The riad is a little off the beaten track so there's only the hotel with the bar/restaurant close. The riad does offer food though but unfortunately i didn't get a chance to try it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious rooms. Adile made us feel welcome. Enjoyed our stay at the Riad.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: On arrival they served us with tasty mint tea. Beautiful Riad and an amazing staff. Azdene is very welcoming and Mohammad is very polite. The riad is vibrant, the rooms are always clean with fresh towels. The ambience gives a positive vibe and I highly recommend this place.
Cons: The breakfast was not how I expected. I have travelled within Morocco a lot and stayed at several Riads. The breakfast is usually nice and appetising but this wasn't fresh at all.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very attentive and hospitable staff, always willing to help with what we needed during our stay. The breakfast was varied and tasty and the riad is quiet, well appointed and the restoration work that has been done at the main areas does the original work justice. Definitely make sure that you spent an evening at the roof terrace, which has a great view.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It is lovely to dit on the roof. The rooms can accommodate more than the 2 we booked. Interesting breakfast wonderful location
Cons: It was difficult to put a group in rooms since some rooms accommodate 4 or 3 pax.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are beautiful and very ornately decorated. You'll feel like you're in an Arabian Nights movie. Laundry services are cheap and fast.
Cons: The staff was unhelpful but ineffective. We asked for the light bulbs to be fixed in the sitting area and in the bedroom as half of them were not working. We also asked for the wifi to be fixed. Neither was addressed in the duration of our stay.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we entered the riad till we left in two days we felt like home , worm welcome by all staff and especially the manager Ezzedine were fantastic. It is a beautiful riad and very comfortable stay .The breakfast is very good .Ezzedine arranged for us a transfer to Chefcheon with a driver and Gide Hamza an excellent driver . Pros: Very welcoming, helpful and professional staff. Nicely decorated facilities and rooms. Lovely overall atmosphere.
Cons: Finding 3 cockroaches in our room, probably due to the window been left open by the cleaning service, after a long day of travelling and exploring the city was an unpleasant experience. However, I believe this is not a responsibility of the riad and it must be attributed to large number of these species in the area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were greeted by the manager with a warm smile and a delicious tea and biscuits! The room was exceptional and very comfy. The little things like assistance in knowledge of the area and providing a great service for breakfast gave us confidence that we would return there, time and time again. Thank you so much for giving us an experience in Fes which we will cherish! These Aussie travellers thought you were the best!!

Pros: Breakfast welcome is good. All is perfect!

Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful, and made sure I was taken care of and safe at all times. They even arranged a private transfer from the train station as well as taxis for me. I felt well looked after.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The staff did their best but the accommodation was far from what we expected in terms of location and comfort
Cons: When we arrived a party was going in in the hall if the riad with extremely loud music...for a family with kids this was extremely annoying as it only stopped at around mid night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was absolute perfect!! Very helpful, they arranged a guide for the Medina, organized our bus tickets to Chefchaouen, they did all we asked for. We had no worries at all. Perfect Riad for a stay in Fes! Very close to the blue Gate!

Pros: Location and friendly staff Nice breakfast
Cons: A/C not working properly...needs improvement in Bedding and towels
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Well baby liked the bed
7.0 Good
Pros: We liked the breakfast and the female receptionist at the hotel. She was really nice and helpful. Also Hamza was really nice and helpful.
Cons: The description of the hotel promised us a lot of things that weren’t there eventually. We were looking forward to a bath for example. There was a bath but no bath stop, so we asked and unfortunately we couldn’t use it. Also, the communication was a bit poor the last days we were staying there. If you’re staying there a few days, the breakfast is going to be a bit boring.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The personal were polite with us and the room was so clean. The breakfast was very good also. I recommend this riad if you want a good location.

The renovation of the Riad has been done with great care to detail. Beautiful. The staff is wonderful, caring and helpful, but not pushy. Pros: Super friendly people and beautifull accomodation. Delicious breakfast and very helpfull people
6.3 Good
Pros: Beautiful Riad with spacious rooms and pool. Cooked lovely dinners for us and tried dishes we wouldn’t have ordered in a restaurant.
Cons: Staff always trying to up sell you something. They organised a tour for us of the Médina and the tour guide just took us to places where she gets commission - was very frustrating and a waste of time. She also wanted more money than what was stated at the hotel. I don’t recommended doing. You can easily get around the Médina by yourself.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pretty much unbeatable value for money. A good breakfast was included and we also got a pickup from the station. The area was nice and you could easily walk into the center of the Medina.
Cons: Unfortunately, the bathroom wasn't that nice; it was a bit older and therefore a bit smelly. There was no shower curtain and everything got wet which was was quite uncomfortable.

Pros: Beautiful riad with traditional decor. Loved the hammam experience. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. The location is near nice restaurants, we especially enjoyed the Ruined Garden and Cafe Clock.

Pros: Location very close to the fountain and medina. Pool lovely and cool. Everything was clean and the staff so lovely.
Cons: Pool is smaller than it looks and there is only two sun beds close to the pool which is a shame.

Pros: They provided us with a shuttle to pick us up from the station which is really nice. The place is very relaxing and quiet.
Cons: The room that we got was the one with the toilet outside the room. It was only for us but it was a little inconvenient for us to go outside the room to use the toilet. So ask first for the room with the toilet inside.

The next day, because we would leave very early and would not have breakfast, he gave us orange juices and croissants for the trip. The Riad is very well located at the beginning of Fes Medina and between the 2 main streets and it is easy to navigate the city
Cons: Sound insulation was in his minus
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Riad Taryana is very beautiful and in great location. Mohammed speaks very good English and extremely nice and helpful. I had diarrea one day and he accompanied me to a pharmacy for medicines.
Cons: Nothing.
7.5 Good
Cons: The hotel and room were both beautiful, which is why it's too bad the people at the front desk are trying to hustle their guests out of money. When we told them we would be eating breakfast in a cafe outside instead of their 5 euro hotel breakfast they tried everything to make us pay -- first saying what a good deal it was (it wasn't) and then trying to say we agreed to pay it as part of our Booking reservation (this isn't part of any Booking reservation). They also tell everyone that if they want to see the medina they have to hire a guide through them. This is a lie, anyone can walk around the medina without a guide. Our room heater also stopped working after the first night and no one was able to fix it. The tragic part is that the rooms are so nice that they could just charge more and it would still be worth it, and then they wouldn't have to hustle the guests.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality from this Riad was great. The man that worked there was friendly and always willing to help. Mohammed the owner/manager was also very helpful in organizing a tour from Fes to Volubilis and Meknes. He went out his way to find others to go on the tour with us to help keep the cost down and an enjoyable day was had by all. The rooms were a standard Riad and were kept in a clean state. Breakfast was a traditional Moroccan one and was filling. Overall a good stay and made more than welcome by workers.
Cons: The only downside to Riad Taryana was the WiFi connection was rather poor in the room we had. The router was located in the main area and had to put phone out the room window for it to connect sometimes.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Decor was lovely, beautiful airy open courtyard. Wonderful breakfast and perfect location, 2 minutes from the gate. Nice welcome and Mohamed helped us book a very good 3 day Sahara/Atlas tour.
Cons: Room was a little cramped and dark, tucked away at the top instead of opening onto the courtyard.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice, authentic and clean room, in the middle of old town. Very nice hotel building and helpful hosts.
Cons: The room is a bit dark and the breakfast a bit boring.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were very impressed of the interior design of the riad. It is a hidden gem! The host, Mohhamed was very kind, helpful and passionate to provide whatever needed, with an extra bonus of orientation in Fes history. Breakfast was more than adequate with local products. And last but not least it was very clean in every aspect.

Pros: The position is awesome and the terrace view in amazing.
Cons: Just avoid it. Staff had a bad behaviour and never made us feel confortable (The only time in our week in marocco). Rooms were old and dirty, the shower worked bad and the pool was not clean. A 3 star at best.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly. Nice view terrasse. Very relaxed atmosfer. I loved it
5.7 Okay
Pros: The Hotel is very clean and well looked after. Loads of staff everywhere maintaining the upkeep of the property at all times. We thought it very well appointed if you don't want to madness of the Medina. It was a 15 minute walk into the Medina (albiet crossing a main road on the way) so you can jump into the craziness quite quickly but a 15 minute walk back and you're next to the pool on a lounger.
Cons: The only thing we'd say is that the hotel is very bland. You could be anywhere in the world really. The usual touristy buffet for breakfast (but hey it's included and its not bad), dodgy night time entertainment that boarders on bad Karaoke (I could sing better), young families and older tourists with bum bags and the pricing is high compared to eating/drinking in the Medina. For what we wanted though (a quiet pool holiday with something interesting to do when we got bored) it fulfilled what we were after.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The view was very charming.
Cons: The restaurant was not at the level of a 5 star hotel, the service was really low and the food was not good at all.
7.0 Good
Pros: Spacious hotel outside Fez. Location outside the crowded and hot medina gives the advantage above a night in a riad in tghe medina. Easy acces.
Cons: The brochure promised traditional Maroc cuisine. Nothing seen of this on the menu.
6.0 Good
Pros: we liked everything but the internet is just so bad that it takes more than 25 minuites toopen up a link and does not work atall in the rooms.
6.3 Good
Cons: We were only given the buffet food option and would have liked to have been able to have a la carte options, rather than self-service with a coach party
6.4 Good
Pros: Superb location overlooking the old city of Fes, good rate, helpful staff, large comfortable room, pleasant terraces and lounges with wonderful views, quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the city, convenient for old city and new cities, good Moroccan restaurant.
Cons: No heating although the weather was cold (mid November), problem with smell of drains in the first room offered - we had to change, breakfast/dinner in international restaurant mediocre.

5.8 Okay
Pros: The outdoor spaces and common spaces were picturesque, good for photos.
Cons: Our room bed was definitely not conformable, we had to pay for everything up front including our stay upon our arrival, our dinner, any services used by the hotel, pay certain things my cash only? The service is generally non existent or bad. The staff seems disorganized and stressed probably from poor management. The location is up on a steep inclined hill where the entrance is also very difficult to find. The reception also doesn't respond to any inquiries you have before your arrival. There are better places in fes i'm sure to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff
Cons: It's hard to find
5.5 Okay
Pros: The breakfasts were great and the staff very attentive. The location was good for discovering the Medina. We could not use the the swiming pool because it was not warmed. The weather was too cold for this activity, unfortunately. The second room had a view on the indie of the riad, above the swimming pool.
Cons: The first room I booked was a standard junior room with twin beds. My friend could not sleep because of the smell of the bathroom and the humidity of the room. She is an asthmatic. The view was on a side street with no view on the riad. They upgraded us on an ambassador room, that was much better. Anyway, the price is quite expensive for the facilities proposed. We could not use the the swiming pool because it was not warmed. The weather was too cold for this activity, unfortunately. The internet connection was a mess except for the living room downstairs, were we could have diner. They had it fixed on the last day :(
7.5 Good
Cons: - The location was a little edgy, specially since we arrived after midnight. - The hotel was too quiet.
7.5 Good

Cons: Unfortunately Internet was woeful
7.5 Good

Cons: Very old needing reverberation.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location and breakfast.
Cons: Price to high. Lack of communication in english. Awful spa service. False informations about this place on the website. No luxury, no heated pool, no good wifi. Dirty, need updating, poor service.
7.0 Good
Pros: It was located in a great area, easily accessible to the Medina. It was a bit challenging to find by car, but once we made it, it was very convenient to walk around the town by foot.
Cons: The place felt a bit old, dated, as if it’s most vibrant days were years ago. And the staff were a bit cold and unresponsive to our needs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a fabulous time at Riad Arabesque! We were unsure given reviews on other sites but decided to take a punt and it was nothing short of great. The highlight was the property - the architecture and mosaics are beautiful and definitely showcase local culture. The property is great, it is overlooking the Medina and as it is on the very outskirts of the Medina it feels like an oasis. Breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking a large green garden - it is a nice escape from the Medina and peaceful to come back after a busy day to spend the afternoon. Breakfast is large and lovely and the staff are particularly helpful and welcoming. The rooms are large and very clean - we would highly recommend.
Cons: Drinks at the bar seemed quite expensive however they appear to be on par with other hotels.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly service.

7.0 Good
Pros: The Stuff was awsome and very helpful. We would recommend it for backpackers for one or two nights.
Cons: The place could have been a little bit cleaner and the sink smelled. The place isn’t a romantic place for a couple to relax.
