Forges Hotel - Forges-les-Eaux - Building
9.0 Excellent (740 reviews)

Overview Reviews
The ForgesHotel, designed by Serge Trigano, offers a strong and very different concept; a traditional upmarket hotel associated with a true concept of leisure. Families make the most of a stay la carte where parents and children have their own activities but also enjoy moments together. Work reunions have magnificent views of the park and its surroundings. The restaurant serve quality and generous meals, with dishes prepared daily, mixing both tradition and innovation.Above all, every customer is treated like a friend, with a real kindness in order that they feel at home, and that his or her stay tells a story. The Forgeshotel, situated in the Domaine de Forges, of contemporary architecture and design, rises like a cosy country house. Forgeshotel is situated in a 27 acre domain in the heart of Normandy, making it the ideal place for anybody in need of a weekend with family or friends, a corporate event or business meeting in the countryside only 1h1/2 from Paris. Everything is done to make your stay unforgettable. All our rooms are spacious and bright, inviting you to rest and relax with either a book at the library or a surprise cocktail at the Ari's Bar, with either a beautiful buffet meal at the Table de Forges or a swim or a massage at the Spa & outdoor terrace. But also a wide variety of sporting activities at your disposal, not to mention the ForgeBeach and its superb sandy beach.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel, very friendly staff, well organised, nice rooms, nice region.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent rooms and food at Dinner and breakfast was very fresh and good quality!
Cons: We were cycling from London to Paris and this was a stop off on the way. When we arrived we were very hot and bothered, check in was a bit long and very thorough!! In the circumstances a wicker check in would have been welcome, but this was the only real negative point in an excellent stay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the sports and swimming pool facilities - we used the tennis courts, driving range, beach volley, petanque, mini golf, table tennis and went on one of the suggested walking routes. We enjoyed staying here and being active with our children. Clean - though constant flies in our room. All staff were extremely helpful, friendly and serviced minded. Apart from when we checked out and there was a mistake on our bill (charged 4 adults for dinner instead of 2 adults and 2 children) It took two receptions over 30 minutes to sort this out. One was friendly, the other very sour and didn’t apologies for the mistake. Do check your bill before paying.
Cons: Slightly outdated hotel - it has a nice park area and lots of facilities, but it looks like maintence has been neglected which is a pity as the hotel has lots of potentiel if they just kept it slightly better. Indoor tennis courts needed serious cleaning. Mini golf course was not maintained very well.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely spacious rooms and bath room. Leisure facilities were very good!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very high standards throughout. Staff, Hygiene, presentation, facilities. Relaxing environment with plenty of choices to keep family occupied. Excellent choice of food in restaurant for dinner & breakfast.
6.8 Good
Pros: Rooms were very comfortable, and very good facilities at the hotel. The restaurant evening buffet and breakfast was very good ( staff very helpful and jolly too).
Cons: Reception and restaurant staff were good, but we found the female bar staff was a little wanting in customer service !...made us feel we were an inconvenience asking for tea ! We were also hoping for under cover parking for our motorcycles.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This Hotel was truly a great find in the pleasant French countryside 2 hours from Calais Eurotunnel. The reception and check in were very helpful and most spoke English if needed. The room was a good size and very nicely fitted out. The grounds are very well kept and the nearby village is a delight. The Casino is directly opposite the hotel and serves great food. We will definitely return again. p.s. The reception is on the ground floor but all rooms are below ask for the bottom floor for a terrace as well.
Cons: Some children running around.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here before and it’s one of my favorites in France. The grounds are really well maintained and match the surrounding area. The rooms are very spacious and well thought out. It has a lovely pool and spa and at night a great Casino. We hired some electric bikes from the hotel and went along the old railway line; this was great fun although the bikes are e20 to hire the deposit is e1000. But do it its good fun. We will certainly stay here again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Food good; the beds comfy and staff did everything they could to accommodate my wife's disability. French cosmopolitan hotel with style. If you like golf, swimming etc. and betting your hard earned money then this is the hotel for you.
Cons: It is a pity they do not have an a la carte restaurant although the food in their buffet was lovely and we can understand why they organise the food the way they do. The hotel and the casino were run by the same company but it is a strange symbiosis because the casino staff seem to think they run both premises. When we arrived on Friday afternoon I was told very firmly by the casino manager that we could not even stop in front of the hotel just to drop off my wife and our luggage. This is despite the fact that all the luggage cradles are in this area. No; we would have to stop in the hotel car park some 200 metres away and my wife, who is disabled, would have to struggle to get to the hotel by other means. It was of no interest to him how she achieved this and explaining that my wife could not walk even 20 metres by showing him her disability blue badge brought no sympathy or help. He was only interested in the expensive cars of high rollers being able to park. We did not want to park in front of the hotel just unload briefly. When we informed the hotel of our conversation they said they would have a discussion with the casino staff.

6.8 Good
Pros: Secure parking. Staff friendly. Evening meal good.
Cons: Small room in need of modernisation/decoration. Walls thin, woken frequently by noise from other guests. Breakfast appeared ample, but was spoiled when waitress strangely whipped away our basket of bread while we were still eating and then cut us just two thin slices when we complained! Town very quiet with no alternative restaurants/bars open within walking distance. Thought the hotel was overpriced for what it was, but we made a last minute booking and our choice of accommodation was limited.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Good bike storage
Cons: Rooms not decorated since 1945!
