10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, all on one level (no stairs), separate appartments. Good home cooked evening meals.
Cons: not much variety for breakfast
6.7 Good
Pros: The owner was very concerned to accommodate his guests, i.e. he let me have the room already at 11:00.
7.9 Good
Pros: The room was clean and in the countryside. Breakfast was basic but good
Cons: No WiFi for the strangest reason Very measleading when you sign up for the room. It says it does but in reality it’s only if you can hook up to a computer or you can walk at the end of the yard with your phone. Weird!!! Also there are no signs to show you once you arrive at the gate so we drove in circles until we called the place and the owner came out to indicate it was the right place The city won’t let him put signs advertising the hotel which makes no sense once at least you are in front of the gate
6.7 Good
Pros: Good location for an event nearby, only 5 minutes from Gien. Felt very safe. Comfortable beds (but very short). Quite spacious bathroom. Pleasant helpful manager.
Cons: No soap for the basin, had to go into the shower to use the fixed wall soap pump. No WiFi. Everything just rather tired and the room was small even by cheap hotel standards. Breakfast really basic. Overpriced compared to the chain cheap hotels (we paid 74€ without breakfast - the big chains are 37-60€.)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great for an overnight stop
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect hotel for a night. The room was quiet and very warm.
Cons: Nothing!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is a motel style hotel about 2km outside the town. Evening meals are available and bikes can be stored in the rooms as all bedrooms are at ground level.
Cons: Evening meal main course very basic and no choice
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely grounds, quiet whilst near main route.
Cons: Shower head not mounted to the wall and bedroom extremely small; only room for 1 bedside table, for example.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We love this very French hotel. We were here 20 years ago with our kids and we loved it then too.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The two receptionists we met were both nice and friendly. We enjoyed our breakfast especially the breads which were tasty. If we have a chance to visit Gien again, we would definitely like to stay at the same hotel.
Cons: The shower room was bit old and disappointing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was clean and quosy
Cons: Breakfast was very poor
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We liked it’s position by the Loire. Our room at the front had a view of the Loire through the trees.
Cons: A restaurant would have been nice.
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good
Cons: We chose Gien as a convenient break point during our driving tour, the town is not set up well with restaurants or bars albeit the one we chose (open), were very accommodating.
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast and the proprietor!
Cons: The small hot bedroom. We were given a second fan when we said we couldn’t sleep in 35 degrees. We couldn’t open the windows or the mosquitoes would fly in.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were helpful, and gave us a better room when there was a problem with our first room. The breakfast was very nice.
Cons: Their is no lift, so carrying heavy suitcases up to the third floor round a narrow staircase is not nice.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was wonderful. We had a nice room with view of the river Loire and we liked that very much. The bathroom was roomy, clean and nice. The bed was comfortable with crispy cotton bedlinnen. We also appreciated the two (upright) chairs in the room.
Cons: The wifi wasn't working and hadn't been working for a week :( the staff told us they couldn't do anything about it. They didn't offer any compensation or solution to this problem, just said they couldn't help it and someone eventually would fix it. As we needed wifi as travelers this was definitely a downside. We couldn't find much wifi in town either. We stayed two days without a change in that situtation.

7.5 Good
Pros: Bed was creaky but really comfortable, slept like a baby! Staff was very friendly and tried their best to speak English despite being on the outskirts of Gien. Swimming pool present and nice restaurants next door.
Cons: The only big improvement really needed would be the breakfast. Not worth €12 and could do with some eggs, sausages and fresh fruit.

Cons: During my stay the room was not cleaned and the bed was left un-set
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent and the location was good, felt very safe, near to supermarket for petrol. Also the staff very helpful and recommended to me places to visit.
Cons: Perhaps larger signs for location of hotel, signs quite small and could be missed if a lot of traffic. However, saying that, I did not get lost but only because I remembered that there was a McDonald's near.
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice terrace and pool, basic breakfast included. Okay for overnight stop not to visit the town!
Cons: Location in an industrial area nearly 2 miles from centre. No nearby restaurants and the town restaurants were very disappointing!

Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was in the main building with a room on floor one overlooking the river. Everything in the room was new and exceptionally clean. Wifi was excellent. Staff went out of their way to help and assist multiple times. There was a covered, locked shed to keep my bicycle overnight. This hotel is on the EV6 bicycle route. There is an excellent bakery about 75 meters away. If you have an automobile there is lots of parking in a secure yard. Contrary to previous reviews I heard no traffic noise.
Cons: n/a
7.9 Good
Pros: Has secure cycle parking and is on the Loire Valley cycle route. Is across the Loire from the main part of Gien with a good view across the Loire of Gien (cathedral, chateau). 5 min walk over bridge to Gien with river front restaurants. For cycle supplies there appear to be no local food shops near the hotel (these may be over in the main part of Gien). But there is a shop with fruit/water 3 mins along the cycle route towards Orleans.
7.5 Good
Pros: Located right on the EV6 bike path. Excellent breakfast. Could easily walk over the bridge to eat at restaurants along the river front.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff greated us in a very friendly manner and were very helpful. On return in the evening the barstaff were excellent and again helpful.
Cons: All in good order so nothing to not like.
7.9 Good
Pros: Air conditioning was great
Cons: I was over charged for the room and the proprietress acknowledged it but would not refund my money. She said that I booked for 2 people but my records clearly showed that I did not. So I find them dishonest! I’m owed a refund.
4.2 Okay
Cons: The restaurant was closed, the bar was closed so know were to eat
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good facilities with ample secure parking. Friendly & welcoming staff. Great location on the Loire itself and a short walk across the nearby bridge takes you to the heart of Gien & a few riverside restaurants, bars & cafes.
Cons: The lift being switched off at 10 pm every night could pose a problem for some people.
