8.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s comfortable, historic, clean and has lots of character. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The location is very convenient to Grand Avenue and the lake.
Cons: My ONLY complaint is that the beds were horribly uncomfortable. We asked to switch rooms after the first night. The staff was very accommodating. Unfortunately, the bed in the second room was just as bad.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a great stay for us. I liked the friendliness of the staff and management. The location of the property, cleanliness, size of our room were excellent. It was very close to town center, that makes it very convenient to access the shops and restaurants. Grand Lakes is a very pretty small town to visit and stay at Rapids lodge made it even better.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Brilliant location and beautiful setting. Large living area and bedroom. Excellent kitchen area and facilities.
Cons: We were given the large 'Apaloosa' room. The moment we walked in, we noticed the room smelled fusty. On turning back the beds, it was clear that they were not clean. The bedding was grubby, crumpled and smelled very 'slept in'. Removing the pillow cases revealed extremly dirt, stained and smelly pillows. I drew this to the attention of the staff, who promptly removed, washed and replaced the bedding. As the same bedding was replaced, I was not convinced that it had actually been fully laundered, and was maybe just freshened up. An entirely new bedding set would have made a better impression. The dirty pillows were replaced with new ones. The mattresses/beds were extremely old, sagging, soft and uncomfortable. The washing up sponge provided in the kitchen was ancient and filthy. Surely a brand new one could easily be provided for each new sets of guests.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: awesome close to lake.
6.0 Good
Pros: Good location close to the lake and restaurants. A beautiful site overlooking the river. If the restaurant had been open, we would have enjoyed having a meal outside or inside just admiring the view. The facility has a main historic lodge, cabins and condo apartments to accommodate various groups of guests. Our room in the lodge was just as pictured on line and was squeaky clean.
Cons: We stayed in the main lodge which is almost 100 years old. Due to its age, there were some drawbacks to our being able to get a good night's sleep during our visit. The floors were quite uneven and noisy, walls were thin, and consequently the shower, toilet, and conversation from another room was easily heard through the evening and woke us at 5:50 the next morning. The room doors are simple interior ones with a space at the bottom, so that any walking or talking in the hallway is easily heard. There was a crinkly (waterproof?) mattress cover which was annoyingly noisy. We were here in the off season, can't imagine how noisy the building could be if there were many guests going about their business. Next time we'll try one of The Rapids' cabins or condo apartments.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: It was a lovely place, have recommended it to others already.
7.0 Good
Pros: Excellent room, very clean, nice!!
Cons: Noise easily transferred from upstairs. First night upstairs guests were very loud, stayed up late.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This side of RMNP was so much quieter than the east side. The town of Grand Lakes is nice. There was music on the green on Wednesday and a movie on the beach on Thurs. Nice touches.
Cons: Stand up paddle boarding on lake. Music on the green. Nearby stream fishing.

6.0 Good
Cons: I didn't think the lady running it was very friendly. Not a real pet friendly hotel, no place to walk them on site. I liked the location right next to everything in town. Room was very small, with a separate extra bedroom. Didn't use it though. Very small
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: no hot water for the shower when the sink was plenty hot, hot tub was broken, heat in the room barely worked. fridge had frozen meal still in the fridge from previous guest. paper thin walls.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location
Cons: Rooms are really loud.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: General appearance and especially the location.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: We really liked the proximity to downtown. The owner's were very accomodating:)
Cons: The room rate should have been less than it was during the off season. Grand Lake was VERY quiet, not a lot open.
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel provides a quiet atmosphere. Its location is excellent.
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was attractive and the bed was good. The location was great-- we could walk to everything in town and it was a short walk to the lake.
Cons: There was no coffee maker in the room, which was disappointing. There is coffee in the office, but it doesn't open until 7 or 7:30. The room was also pretty noisy. We booked at the last minute, so didn't have the option of an upstairs room, which would have helped with the noise from kids who spent 2 hrs playing on the stairs right outside our room, and our being a very few feet from the parking lot. Ask for an upstairs room!
5.0 Okay
Pros: television and warm
Cons: no coffee pot for coffee in am no air conditioning. Got in the 90s
7.0 Good
Pros: Location Definately met our 1 night stay Room was very clean probably wouldn't stay there for an extended time. Was small but had two queens. one in a separate room. Staff was very nice. WIFI was faster than ours at home.
6.0 Good
Pros: Convenient location, staff was friendly
Cons: The hot tub was broken, coffee in the office didn't start till 730am which is awfully late for people that are there for a fishing tournament that starts way before that, not a fan of the mini kurig in the room especially when your only given 3 coffees and 1 is decaf..... had to go to the little grocery store to buy more.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Location
Cons: The owner. And the false advertising about the pet fee. Their website says $20 fee but then the owner charged us 20 per night per pet! She is a scam artist.
1.0 Poor
Pros: It is rooms are pretty standard, not the nicest but not really run down, so what you had expect from a 2 Star hotel. The nicest thing about this hotel is it is close to Rocky Mountain National Park.
Cons: Arrived at 11 pm to find no one at the desk and no one to answer the phone, after calling the number 6 times a guy finally showed up and seemed very annoyed that I had booked a room and that I wanted to sleep in the bed I payed for. Very poor service.

Pros: Good location
Cons: Paper thin walls. Hasn’t been remodeled since 1981. I literally got 2.5 hours of sleep with the intention of getting 7. The NOISIEST hotel that I’ve EVER stayed in. I truly feel like I should be refunded $100 Had I spent $30.00 I would’ve expected what I got.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice rooms and nice Hot tub
Cons: Hot tub hours only 3 - 9 only. Parking spaces limited
7.0 Good
Pros: We were able to check in a little early, which was appreciated since we were traveling with a recently potty trained toddler. The location was good, and being able to park right in front of our door was great.
Cons: Walls are thin, you could hear everything both from the parking area and from the rooms on either side of us.
4.0 Okay
Cons: Old small and out dated
5.0 Okay
Pros: Room was comfortable , quite and clean.
Cons: The hot tub was cold and the manager/owner left a note at the desk that he was working on rooms so we couldn't let him know. He is not at the desk most of the time.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fun and rustic! Bed was very comfy :)
Cons: We needed a few more kitchen utensils - silverwear, etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Right on the edge of town. Very close to the lake! The cabin was stocked with seasonings for cooking a pleasant surprise!
Cons: Cabins are super close to each other. We were the only ones staying at the time so it was very quaint. Otherwise, it would be interesting to see what it would be like to be in such close proximity to others especially they were loud.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms with an especially nice kitchen.
6.3 Good
Pros: The town was awesome. We will go again but will stay somewhere else.
Cons: The cabin we had picked we didn’t get. They tried to put us in a run down cabin that smelled like a camp fire. The one we chose had a gas fireplace and was newer. The owner told us that bookings.com had over booked that cabin.that cabin was off the Main Street So then we told them that the cabin he gave us wasn’t going to work these cabins weren’t even in the same area as the one we picked. So we ended up getting a older cabin off of the Main Street. They tried to charge us 140.00 more then what we agreed on . So NO I don’t think I will go back to them. It should have been a stress free transaction and it was not. It took over a hour dealing with all this mess.
7.5 Good
Pros: It was very quiet; nice to have a little kitchen to fix breakfast. Heating was good.
Cons: Chilly bathroom; shower curtain missing rings. No bath mat. Very soft bed.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We liked the location of the cabin however thought it would be over by the main lodge.
Cons: The sofa was worn out and pillows a bit worn.
