The employees were polite and helpful. It's unfortunate they're stuck working in a place like that.
The hotel smells like expired polyurethane cleaner, and it takes at least 5 hours after guests start arriving for that scent to dissipate through the open windows at each end of the hallway. My room smelled like burnt hair upon entering. We left open the window to let it air out while we went down to the pool. The pool is a pool only in the sense that they get to mark pool on the checklist. Looks like it was built where cars used to pull up to check in? Right outside the lobby amid all the parking spots. It's shaded by the front awning and not heated, so that means it was unbearably cold. We returned to the room to find the burnt hair smell lessened, and so turned on the a/c while we went to dinner. When we returned, we were greeted by, not cold air, but, as my 8 year old put it, the smell of Swiss cheese and feet. Whatever makes the air cold in an a/c was out. So back off it went and the window was opened back up. Come morning, I tried to make coffee, but the coffeemaker was glued shut? Breakfast was as bearable as microwaved egg disks can be. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I think we'll just skip this city next time we drive through.
