Pros: Rooms and staff
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was fine. Great shopping opportunities near by but the next nearest town with more amenities were a car ride away. But granted , not that far. We were there to experience a Gretna Green wedding and it met our expectations. There would be little else in the area but many choices driving distance to visit. The hotel itself is very close the the highway but you couldn't hear any traffic inside!
Cons: I found the room to be blowing cool air in even with increasing the temperature setting. We found a radiator however, that worked well enough to heat the room.

Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good parking and good location for main roads, north south and west. Access to shopping mall which was just down the road. Nice home cooked-type food.
Cons: My only gripe was the room location. Having stayed there before we have had outside rooms but on this occasion they were upstairs directly above the function room where there was a birthday party and a live singer. The noise from this was bad, almost as if we were in the room. The vibration from the deep base sounds caused me to ring the hotel (my mobile as no phone in the room) at 23:10 to ask when the party finished but we were given an answer of sometime soon!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very conscientious about getting back to any messages prior to the booking and reassured me that the dog was welcome. The rooms were spacious and it was nice to have our own entrance with the dog so we could nip out at any time. There was a lot of storage so we were able to unpack and feel very comfortable. The tv was a decent size and my daughter enjoyed it. Breakfast was amazingly tasty and lots of options. The staff were very friendly too.
Cons: The WiFi was great in the main areas but in the bedrooms in the annex we couldn’t use it as the signal was low. Overall a really comfortable stay. I think it would also be handy to have a couple of hooks for clothes in the bathroom. There is a towel rail but an extra hook would be great.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Ideal location. Close to amenities and very friendly staff
Cons: No comment

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed at the gables hotel before and we booked again for a special occasion. This time upon arrival, we were told we had been given a free upgrade to their Aisla suite, wow! On entering the room there was a complimentary bottle of prosecco and chocolates, amazingly as we had also travelled with out pet dog there was even a dog bed, food and water bowls for her, amazing! The room was beyond expectations, queen size bed, sofa, TV, very large bathroom with, shower cubicle, twin hand washing sinks and a jacuzzi. All of this exceeded our expectations. We had previously booked the Dovetail suite for private dining as dogs were not allowed in the restaurant, the occasion was for a wedding meal and didn't want to leave our dog in the car. The waitress service was excellent and made our wedding meal flow brilliantly. The food was amazing all round on the two days we stayed. All the staff we genuinely polite, helpful and we couldn't have wished for a better stay.

Pros: Everything. The room was extremely comfortable and warm on a very cold day. When we arrived, we were given a hot drink and sat talking to the owner in the residents lounge. This made us feel very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. It is conveniently situated close to all amenities. Will not hesitate to stay again.
Cons: There was nothing that we did not like. No faults or complaints. Wish other guest houses gave the more personal touch like The Surrone.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really handy for the M6/M74. Easy walking distance to eatery, pub and outlet centre (if you want). Good parking. Really good size room, including what looked like a newly refurbished bathroom. Quality toiletries - Molton Brown. A decent sized tv (for a change). Absolutely superb value for money. Good breakfast.
Cons: We stayed in Room 4 and the wall separating us from Room 5 allows sound to travel easily. Not a problem if occupants are quiet, and it didn't disrupt our good nights sleep.
