8.0 Excellent
Pros: The dining in the associated restaurant was a really (positive) surprise. The service was first class and the food excellent. The staff were friendly and everything was clean and worked. Good value for a well located hotel
Cons: There was no breakfast available. There are several local cafes just along the road ...but it would be nice to just pop down stairs rather than search for your full English.
10.0 Excellent

7.0 Good

Cons: Bed could be more comfortable. Easy fix with a topper.

Pros: Lovely clean room great night
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the accommodation, the history, etc. Great comfy beds, spacious rooms. Continental breakfast disappointing - wanted a cooked breakfast. Restaurant was also disappointing - was expecting something closer to fine dining, and not have chips and battered fish on the menu - very small meals for the price too. Accommodation = awesome, restaurant = average
Cons: Please see above
7.0 Good
Cons: Lunch service was not good. I have emailed separately about this.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The hotel has the potential to be very nice. The staff were pleasant and reacted positively when problems were pointed out. The location would be great BUT only if soundproofing is installed to muffle continuous traffic noise. Really disappointed it was not as billed :(
Cons: We were booked to stay 2 nights but left after 1 night. We had a suite, which was a bit tired and in need of sympathetic renovation, but just ok. The toilet was leaking (we pointed this out - would say it has been leaking for a while). We had dinner (food mediocre), got a flat glass of bubbly that was replaced immediately this was pointed out. The main thing we didn’t like though was the total inability to sleep: our suite was above the bar, but with zero soundproofing, we may as well have tried to sleep in the middle of it. It was very busy and extremely loud until about 2am (we were told noise should have ceased at 1am - we did not think that was acceptable as a norm), which then allowed the traffic noise to be heard for the rest of the night! Staff understood our decision not to stay the second night, which was both telling and good, rather than causing further problems.
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful ambiance, friendly staff, not very experienced yet. Slow service.
Cons: Quite noisey, for us acceptable though . We would go back there.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The room was ok overpriced for what you got
Cons: Staff at restaurant need customer service skills, food overpriced for what you got. Timing an issue for service
