Cons: Unfortunately although planned for, no WiFi yet for the rooms located on second floor (N.B. family suites on first floor are covered nevertheless). No kettle available for hot drinks in the afternoon/evening. Quality of toiletries could be better. My room was too small to really feel at ease.

Pros: This is our second stay here, brilliant property, amazing breakfast and wonderful hosts
Cons: it was very hot 35 , I did not find it too hot to sleep, my partner would have liked it cooler, I believe the owners are putting in air con which will take care of it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the personal touch of our hosts, and the home made breakfast sweets.

Pros: The owner went beyond expectations in helping repair a minor mishap to our rental vehicle saving us a bundle. We suggested coffee making facilities in the room and he was thankful for the suggestion and will be available soon. Morning coffee was freshly made in the breakfast room and on our second day he was ready to deliver to our room once he was aware we were awake. For dinner he suggested excellent restaurants in the area

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very good restaurant, very nice staff and a clean and comfortable room. The property is located inside a forest so it’s very quiet , but a bit dark to drive too at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was easy to find and is situated in a picturesque small town, There is good parking at the rear of the hotel. We were checked in by a charming lady, who made us very welcome on our arrival. The bedroom was spacious, clean and had a nice view from all three windows. The bathroom was excellent with a large walk in shower. The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet at night, even the church clock stops chiming at bed time, but starts again at six , maybe a bit early for some. The food in the restaurant is excellent, a good choice, well presented, and cooked to perfection, with a good choice of local wine. Breakfast was very good, a good selection, and fresh. Coffee was excellent. Throughout our stay, all the staff were charming, friendly, helpful and very professional. My only regret was that we were only staying for one night, I will certainly return and stay longer in this wonderful hotel and spend a lot more time exploring this lovely part of France.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here prior to visiting Hartmannswillerkopf. It's a quiet town (other than for the church bells). There are no other shops or bars here but the hotel had a bar and restaurant which was perfect for my needs. Nice continental breakfast.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff to help you with everything! Rooms are basic but everything you need. Bed was great.. Some things look old but that is the romantic about this hotel.. it is a hotel with a long history. Like this very much.. we are a young couple with age of 32. Can recommend this stay for everyone.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel generally speaking. All is correct except technologies. Would go again for holidays.
Cons: No or very poor wifi and no signal for mobile phone if you are not orange. If you go there, be ready to be alone in the world and far from any civilization.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly hosts. Excellent restaurant. Very clean and comfortable.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel with parking that was close although this was limited by space. Friendly staff who were very helpful. Evening meals were very good and well presented. Breakfast was excellent. We will stay here again.
Cons: Restaurant closes on Mondays, which means you cannot get anything to eat or drink after breakfast.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good restaurant
Cons: No wash basin in WC room (WC is separate form bathroom). Poor wifi
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had one of the recently Refurbished rooms which was a good size with huge bed and lots of power sockets which was useful. Nicely planted garden for relaxing with half size tennis court and table tennis. We choose to eat at hotel restaurant as on edge of village and they were happy to provide vegetarian options (with advance notice), good breakfast too! Comprehensive local wine list. Very friendly helpful staff who spoke good English but were happy to help us practice our French! Lots of good walking nearby.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like the location and hiking tracks around it

Pros: Excellent service, secure parking and great food. We were given an upgrade as the hotel was entertaining a large group - the suite we were given was amazing!!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: A very large bedroom with an excellent large jacuzzi bath. The room was clean and the large bed was very comfortable. Paid for breakfast which was very good value.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The perfect Place. Wonderful location. Peacefull excellent stay
6.3 Good
Pros: The dinner was (unexpectedly) good, although probably the only four star hotel in the world limiting you to a preset menu "because it's Saturday".
Cons: Outside jacuzzi very dirty. Terrible sewage smell coming through the shower drain (to the extent that we had to block the drain with a wet towel). Taste is a matter of debate (I would rank the architecture & decor on the kitschier side of kitsch) but should a hotel really be a chapel to the glory of its founder with self - aggrandizing photos everywhere? Price to money - the rack rate of 300EUR per night (ex breakfast) is wildly irrealistic in relation with location, amenities and services. Tired, frayed carpet in the reception area helps resetting expectations as soon as you arrive...
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great environment. Good value. Nice restaurant & food. Discovered a great wine (Pinot Gris- Cuvee Elyse). Nice Staff. Good place to relax
Cons: Some Spa Facilities were not working.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location is great and the room was very comfortable. The facilities are clean and nice however most of the massage jets and fontains were not working at all or partially operational. The sauna is a low temperature one which is not convincing and the hammam also was not fully powerful. That was quite deceiving.
Cons: The operation of the spa facilities should be improved to reach their full potential and the sauna should be modified to provide real sauna features. It is a pity no using the beautiful facilities at their full potential by the fault of lousy or defectuous equipment.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Spa area exceeded expectations! Room was clean, modern and comfortable, possibility to order express breakfast in the room, which is great alternative to buffet breakfast.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic in the middle of the forest. We loved our room and the pool was great. Good general facilities. Bed was very comfortable with good quality towels and linen - helped to sleep well. We would return to this hotel if we were sure that the service (staff quality) had improved.
Cons: 1. Check-in process was very problematic. The room was not available (on arrival) at 3.15pm. Normal check-in time was 3.30pm. Reception explained that the cleaning lady had arrived too late. We were told that there would be an additional wait of at least 1hour. However, we weren’t automatically offered the spa or bar facilities. We complained and only then were we offered the chance to use the spa. The receptionist with dark short hair seemed to be very careless and spoke very limited English. 2. There was a private party on the night of arrival. All restaurants were closed and nobody had informed us during the check-in process that we should eat in the Brasserie before 7pm or visit the nearby restaurant. Therefore, we stayed without food during the first night of our stay. 3. The access cards didn’t work on the 2nd and 3rd night of our stay. We had to return to reception to have the cards reset. This happened to both cards on consecutive nights. The cards were not placed next to mobile phones and kept in separate pockets. Therefore, this was not the cause of the problem. 4. We were given only 2 towels for the spa during the room cleaning on the Friday morning. However each person requires 2 towels for each sun-bed due to the towels being short. 5. Overall, the staff spoke very little English except one young man on reception late on Saturday night. Staff didn’t seem to be very competent. The Gardener was very friendly and seemed to be doing his best multi-tasking between different jobs around the hotel. The staff seem to be working in an unco-ordinated fashion. 6. No wine stocked in the mini-bar. Odd given that this region is so famous for its wine production. 2 small bottles of wine (for an extra charge) would be beneficial. CONCLUSION Overall, it’s a real shame (about the above points) because it’s a really nice hotel that needs to be run in a more orderly fashion. The management need to retrain some of the staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is really dog friendly and super nice
5.4 Okay
Pros: Beautiful surroundings. Very nice big balcony with nice view into the woods. Very friendly staff at lunch.
Cons: Absolutely ridiculous that paying guests in a 4-star hotel can not have dinner, because the restaurant is fully booked. Not even willingness to let us wait at the bar for a free table. Just f**k off and drive 10 km to the nearest village. In addition very noisy rooms; we could follow every word of the next door conversation. Luckily there were no children in that room. My wife's massage was not excellent and the masseuse didn't speak one word english (or didn't want to, like many french).
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is great in the nature, the outdoor pool, the spa,
Cons: A bit pricey for the overall facilities, the outdoor jacuzzi is outdated, the restaurant ferme Des Moines is also a bit expensive compare to quality of the food, the outside ventilation next to the room could be somewhere else, finally the bathroom needs a bit refurbishment
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the room the service and the location

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Spotlesss, quiet, spacious and well equipped. Convenient and good restaurant. Easy access from the motorway. Ideal one night stop over location travelling from Italy to UK. And excellent value.
Cons: The bed was a queen size, which is a bit small even for two slim adults.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is perfect. Nice location near highway if you need to stay and sleep before continue your drive. Modern and big room, nice shower, great WiFi. Have small kitchen, which is nice for travelers who likes to cook as at home. Have French restaurant, seems like a popular, because of many visitors in the evening on Thursday.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Value for the price, quiet location, easy access to highways or city, shopping nearby, spacious room, amenities, all a great experience. Mr Cellier, owner, cares about customers. Thank you! I will return with no hesitation!
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great comfortable flat in a quiet area
Cons: Nothing really
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect for an overnight stay en route to Italy. Great value for mu=oney and great amenities in a spacious apartment. Although the location is in the middle of a trading estate onve you are through the door, the accommodation is of a really high standard. And there is a good restaurant just acroos from the apartm;ents so no need to drive.
Cons: Tiny niggles were that there was no info re the wifi code and whilst it was great to have a coffee machine, no tea or coffee made it a little redundant!

6.7 Good
Pros: Great location but this is not what I would expect from a 5 star facility
Cons: Property is old and not well kept, bed uncomfortable, bathroom worn and so is the room furnishings A/c only has one temperature or you can turn it off and heat becomes unbearable Toiletries not what you expect from a 5 star facility Dinner is expensive for what you get
6.7 Good
Pros: Surrounding area
Cons: Bad toilets which didn’t flush. Dated decor and interiors. Bad air conditioning.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice to stay at a chateaux. Vin yards surtounding the castle. Great breakfadt with super views!! Not the cheapest but worth it.
Cons: Room was not that clean. Diner was ok, not great.
7.1 Good
Pros: Swimming pool and terrace are very nice.
Cons: Classic room at the side building was overpriced. WC was smelly with crack washbasin.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The setting
Cons: The restaurant, primarily the food quality for dinner.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The original building was most likely lovely. And the views were very beautiful. The staff was very friendly. The fact we only had to stay one night and the Storks flying all over town.
Cons: The photo for the room we booked was deceptive considering the room we actually stayed in was last updated in the 1970’s! It actually had a musty odor and the only pleasant thing about the room was clean bedding. We were frustrated because we thought we were staying in a lovely French Chateau.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location and spa
Cons: Cheap loud airco in the room. Exhaust hose kept coming off during the night which spoiled the relaxation
7.5 Good
Pros: We had no meals at the hotel. It is in a lovely setting with beautiful views and, despite being in a small town, is very conveniently placed. The staff are extremely pleasant.
Cons: The hot water pressure is poor and the shower head needs to be replaced. The room decor is somewhat dated; the curtains do not close properly which was a problem due to a very bright orange light outside. It shone through the gap in the curtain straight onto the bed. Our first night was pleasant but we had a dreadful second night. There were very loud fireworks behind the hotel (probably due to a wedding on the premises). At around 3.15am a fire alarm went off for about 15 minutes in the passage outside our bedroom. I couldn't find a staff member to find out what the problem was. Eventually I went back to bed as there was no evidence of a fire. I was unable to find a telephone in our room to contact anyone. We were driving a long way the following day and certainly did not need such a disrupted night. One piece of advice to anyone booking at the hotel; try not to stay on the ground floor facing away from town. The rooms are noisy and not very private.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: An ancient and impressive castle in which you feel like going back to another century. The view from a lot of places was wonderful.
Cons: Maintenance of the place could be better. The food and drinks are expensive and there is no nearby alternative.

Featured amenities include luggage storage, a safe deposit box at the front desk, and an elevator (lift). Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded at no extra cost to a room with walk in shower because my wife has a dissability and struggles to climb in bath.Lovely view from balcony over pond with ducks and swans. Room very clean and modern.
Cons: The lighting was not good and it was dificult to see into the wardrobe. Also no mirror at table to do hair etc,
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I stopped there on my trip from Italy to Belgium. I can tell you it is a very nice and very clean hotel. I stayed only 1 night but I enjoyed it. The food in the restaurant (what I ate) was excellent. I certainly would return.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Locationwise this is not in the "downtown" of Guebwiller so please don't expect to find some shops around. Otherwise it's quite calm. The lake was way smaller than I expected (it's rather a pond than a lake) but it wasn't a big deal.
Cons: My shower was with curtains but very narrow in a very large bathroom. All the water was flowing away. Maybe I've got the disability room? Breakfast was like any other French versions, very few options for vegan.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location. Room view over the lake is fantastic. Dinner in the restaurant terrace beside the lake is relaxing.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location and Breakfast is good
Cons: Unfriendly and not helpful. Guests are just accepted. External Guests such as Weddings have priority. Wanted to charge 90 Euros for a broken Toilet Ring without even asking if someone got hurt.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel in a tranquil setting. The lake is more an 'étang' but nevertheless a beautiful setting with shared facilities with the neighbouring hotel, so in early evening we could use their sunny terrace and bar. Our room was splendid, we were celebrating an anniversary so selected a superior room with balcony and lake view, it was worth it! We arrived by bike, so a bonus was a garage for storing the bikes.
Cons: The restaurant was fully booked, which was disappointing. However, the pizzeria opposite was recommended by the hotel and actually was very good - best pizzas we've had for ages.
6.3 Good
Cons: A bit worn out hotel. The vending machine for coffee, tea etc too small for the capacity needed. Broke down several mornings during our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Easy parking. Large room, comfortable. Good food in restaurant. Decent breakfast.
Cons: Staff a bit rushed in restaurant. Maybe just a busy night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very Clean, nice setting, staff friendly
Cons: Lighting in the room a bit low, but this seems to be the case with all hotels not just this one,
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice modern with a touch of class in the furnishings etc
Cons: Bar prices a little expensive

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and I had a nice view outside. The best part of my stay however was the breakfast spread and the breakfast place on the 3rd floor. It was so charming.
Cons: Not really near the train station. It was at least 10 - 15 minute walk from the station.
7.1 Good
Pros: Very central but still quiet. Room was a good size and while a 'basic' fit out was comfortable.
Cons: Finding the car park is a bit of a challenge. Reception area is very crowded.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Old room appliances, could use some refurbishment
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful breakfast, great buffet and nicely prepared. My husband cannot eat gluten and received glutenfree bread and muffins, I am lactose intolerant and received almond milk for my coffee.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good - continental (bread, cheese, yogurt, etc.). Location was a little challenging to fine but room was comfortable.
Cons: Parking was confusing. A festival of some sort was going on when we arrived so we had to park a couple of blocks away - and move our car before 8am to avoid a ticket.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast spread was very good.
Cons: The coffee was awful, but to be honest the standard in the whole of France seems to have detiriated. They all seem to be using nasty machines.
9.6 Excellent

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location.
7.9 Good
Pros: Near from train station, good size of the room, kettle available
Cons: Beds are uncomfortable, the kettle was not cleaned

Pros: Room and bathroom were very nice, big and clean. Bed was comfortable. Toilet was separated within the bathroom. And everything we needed was available. Breakfast buffet was complete and delicious. Our dog was very welcome, also in the breakfast room. We were just passing through so we can’t tell anything about the location. Parking was possible on the street for a small price.

7.5 Good
Pros: Central location with parking, very helpful & friendly staff. Comfortable room with large bathroom which was very clean
Cons: All OK - just a one night stopvetu
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We booked a few hours before arriving and it was no problem to put a baby crib in the room. We arrived at 01.30 AM and there was somebody waiting to open the door for us. Great service, sadly we had no time for breakfast.
Cons: No control over airco in the room.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The bar
Cons: The room, the staff, the cleanliness, the atmosphere
6.3 Good
Pros: I chose this hotel as it is close to the station and the art deco style was appealing. And the hotel does have considerable style and looks great. Beautiful art deco architecture and furnishings. Location opposite the park is very pleasant.
Cons: The staff were not very welcoming. Although I speak reasonable French, they offered little communication. Very small and cramped room, even by French hotel standards (the smallest I encountered in four weeks in hotels). I stayed here during hot weather. Couldn't open the windows wide as the furniture was in the way. The air conditioning was utterly useless. The temperature shown inside my room never dropped below 26 degrees day or night. I thought I didn't know how to work it, and on the second day asked for the operating guide. But it wasn't that, it was not working properly. Only on the third day did the problem seem to be repaired, presumably a faulty thermostat. This hotel may have four stars, but most three star hotels I stayed in were much more comfortable, and some half the price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Well priced, excellent location, nice and helpful staff. The breakfast was a bit priey but sine the loation was great it was easy to just go out and find a place to have our breakfast.
Cons: very minor. I found the breakfast to be a bit overpriced.

7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel is located in a beautiful environment The food is good Most of teh staff is very pleasant
Cons: The hotel is feeling a bit old and could do with a little refresh.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Its a nice hotel with a very helpful staff and a beautiful zerrasse
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the postion on the little lake. Would strongly recommend a room with balcony on the lake side of the hotel - great view. Breakfast was good, and served overlooking the lake. The carpark is directly next to the hotel. The restaurant on the other side of the lake is inexpensive and good. The bed was good.
Cons: The plastic furniture is an acquired taste. It wasn't a problem for us at all, but one should be aware that there are 3 buildings around the lake and a road running past, so it is not quite as idyllic as it looks on the photos. Still a lovely setting, to be recommended. Guébwiller itself is a run-down place and not worth a visit at all. For dinner there is really just the choice of the hotel or the restaurant opposite.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Nice Staff, good Restaurant.
Cons: The Lake is a Pond. No bathing. The rooms aren‘t nice. The bathrooms are small and ugly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and tasty menu
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find, located next to a small lake. Our room had a small balcony with table and chairs. Dinner on the terrace was lovely, good choice and reasonably priced. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom clean with good toiletries. Very hot day, but there was air conditioning.Breakfast was buffet and nice continental choice, the glass of local sparkling wine was most acceptable! Perfect way to start the day!
Cons: Room lighting was a bit dull. No tea/coffee making facilities which would have been nice.
6.7 Good
Pros: The breakfast was nice.
Cons: The staff are polite but they don't speak English, just German and French. However, the receptionist was kind and personable and she can speak English well.
6.7 Good
Pros: Big room with comfortable bed
Cons: Hotel a bit outdated
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, scenery and food were all excellent. The staff was warm, friendly and helpful.
Cons: There was a group of visitors smoking cigars on the terrace while we were enjoying a drink by the lake. It was a bit annoying, but only a little inconvenience.

Pros: The staff were friendly and the breakfast was excellent. A very convenient location in town and a good quality restaurant.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at B&B Hôtel MULHOUSE Ile Napoléon, you'll be centrally located in Illzach, within a 10-minute drive of Parc Expo de Mulhouse and Nouveau Bassin Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is convenient, close to Motorway, in an industry-park. Good for travellers by car for overnight.
Cons: Rooms is pretty small, bed is hard. In terms of "value for money", not that great. Breakfast was quite rudimentary for the €8 you pay for it.
7.9 Good
Pros: Must be aware that's a great place to stay for a night during long trip, but wouldn't recommend for a longer, leasure type of, stay. Friendly staff, good a/c, clean room with bathroom, close to highway, shop and fast food. If you go further to Ilzach you can find some great boulangeries with baguettes. After 1000km was great ;)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, easy access from the motorway. The breakfast was delicious. Ideal for one-night stay.
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel is very adequate as a one-night stopover while travelling, with a comfortable bed and good airco (it was well over 30 degrees Celsius). The surroundings are not great, although easy access to the motorway and a shopping mall with restaurants nearby.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location. Near the highway in 30 minutes from basel
Cons: Poor breakfast. Bad airco system in our room Parking is not good or travelers with boat trailer or mobilehome. Caravan. Not all the Staff does not speak english well.
7.5 Good
Pros: We visited the hotel in Mulhouse on our way to Italy. It was conveniently close to the highway, yet in the room itself it was quiet. There was a good Chinese restaurant at walking distance. Breakfast was better than what we are used to when visiting France: several kinds of bread, scrambled egg, yoghurt, muesli, juice et cetera. The matrass on the bed was rather firm, just as we like it.
Cons: The size of the room was so small that, at times, it was annoying.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was acceptable and the air con worked well.
Cons: Thin pickings for breakfast. Could have been better. Location fairly industrial.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good value for mondy
Cons: Parking too small

Cons: Room was cramped with 4 beds. Toilet room smelled like a urinal.
7.5 Good
Pros: Bright and colourful design. Breakfast complete.
Cons: Room not entirely clean. Unclear how to arrive at parking. A sign that says that the parking of the railway station is also the parking of the hotel would be helpful.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Good location near the main train station in Mulhouse. Central is only a few minutes walk away. Very nice sushi restaurant just next to the hotel.
Cons: Rooms for a family are very small. Especially if you are to stay for more than 2 days. Cleanliness of the room was not satisfactory as they did not replenish any toiletries or take out any garbage Breakfast was very limited considering other Ibis Style hotels we visited.
5.0 Okay
Cons: There was a noisy fan which kept us awake
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It was clean, comfy, the lady at the desk was very welcoming
Cons: There could have been more variety of food at breakfast
7.1 Good

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beds are supercomfy. The staff prepared a surprise for my sons birthday. Super!
6.3 Good
Cons: When we entered our room it was over 28 C degrees inside. The bar was horribly expensive - 8 E for beer. And we had to pay twice for local tax. The stuff didn't care when we said that we had paid the day before.

Cons: nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Easy access after hours. Reasonable breakfast. Nice towels. Clean room. Value for money.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: No complaints
Cons: Fast internet. Complimentary meal given one night
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Check in at night could’ve been explained clearer
7.1 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff. Very polite and helpful. Thank you all for the warm welcome! Breakfast was ok but could easily be improved by offering higher quality products and refilling the breakfast buffet regularly during the morning when products run out.
Cons: Uncomfortably small double bed. Pictures on booking.com look a lot nicer that in reality. Suggestion: repair the neon letters outside the hotel. Broke neon letters don't give a very good impression to the hotel.
6.7 Good
Pros: Convenient location for a stop while traveling Enough parking space Easy access
Cons: Works in progress Strange vapours in the hallway (people smoking)
7.9 Good
Pros: good breakfast nice clean room, plenty of parking.
Cons: 26 degrees out side, muggy and hit inside but hotel staff WOULD NOT TURN ON AIRCON IN OUR ROOM,WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS TO COLD OUTSIDE TO PUT IT ON!!. when I booked the hotel aircon was one of the reasons for the choice , on the booking page it dos not state that use of aircon at the hotels discretion? I feel that this should be stated on booking site, plus the hotel is next door to rundown hotel what looks as if its for the local unemployed, or for poor immigrant accommodation .

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: The car Park is almost impossible to find and put 55minutes on our journey. It is behind the hotel and accessed only by a tunnel. The sat nav doesn’t help as it takes you the wrong way up a one way street
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, off the train and a very short walk to the hotel
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed, clean room
Cons: The room is quite small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast !
7.1 Good
Pros: Convenient for the station; interesting urban view (think of K.F. Schinkel commissioned by J.G. Ballard). I'd recommend it for InterRailers who would have like to stay in Basel but were defeated by SNCF's ticketing policy on through trains from Switzerland.
Cons: Restaurant was very disorganised - 55 minutes to prepare a flammekueche! It was good when it arrived, but still... Breakfast was pretty basic, but then it was very cheap, so no complaints there, really. Wifi kept dropping.
6.7 Good
Pros: Ligging
Cons: Bed was te hard
6.7 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Absolutely impossible to figure out where the parking is without going into the hotel to ask. As it's at the station street parking, however short, is just about impossible. And no directions in the booking confirmation. Nightmare.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The bed
Cons: The noise, small room, no wardrobe, no hairdryer, no refrigerator, only French TV channels
7.5 Good
Pros: The location, .... though finding a way in by car is not straightforward...I think we used the bus lane to finally get there?
Cons: ..., the underground garage is not correctly signposted and causes unnecessary hassle to get out at street-level. This garage is also relatively open/public and therefore cannot be considered safe for overnight left luggage...so take your valuables with you just in case of (possible) difficultis the next morning.
