3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Room was clean and bed very comfortable.
Cons: Decor and room furniture very dated. Hallway lighting not working. Pub and restaurant only open from 4pm and very limited menu.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very accommodating and friendly, evening meal delicious and served efficiently. Loved the bar and restaurant and views over the back from our bedroom window, stunning! It was a perfect locaction for our needs too. Excellent value for money. I do so hope Horseshoe Inn can reopen its doors again one day and continue to serve the public because its a real gem. We felt sorry to leave under this uncertain future.
Cons: Nothing, all excellent considering the unprecedented circumstances. Only issue is that they are now sadly shut otherwise I'd have gone back in a heart beat! Could do with a few more plug sockets though.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good Breakfast
Cons: Breakfast was VERY good; however no staff apart from the cook. Main bedroom fine apart from the fact that the thermostat on the radiator was broken. Windows need replacing and dead flies removed. BATHROOM - very cool, shaving light didn't work, sink plug chain broken, pedal bin mechanism broken, toilet flush lever broken (very hard to flush). WINDOWS - so rotten you could put a finger through the wood if so inclined. When reported to manager he could not have been more disinterested. Apparently this property is due for demolition. Whole place need work and a good clean.
5.0 Okay
Cons: The pub appeared to be shut on a Thursday evening at 7.30 pm. I suspect I was the only guest staying overnight. The doors were locked, with a notice asking you to telephone a number to gain admittance. Fortunately, my taxi driver had a mobile phone. The whole place was deserted, apart from the car park which was full of cars. I suspect the it was being used by people in the neighbouring houses as a place to leave their car.
7.0 Good
Pros: It was cheap, clean and receptionist really cheery
Cons: Too late to get any food and sold completely out of crisps at the bar don't think I have ever been to a pub that has sold out of crisps.

Pros: Area and 500 year old house look fantastic. Parking easy.
Cons: 70 year olds had to lie flat on the floor to turn on power for bedside lights. Heating on so we had to open very old windows in a gale that allowed a swarm of crane flies in. Very small bedroom and bathroom with heavy bedding.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: N/A
1.0 Poor
Cons: Cupboard room #014, no windows, green light constantly on that lights up the room and stops you sleeping, a double bed which is two single beds stuck together with a ridge down the middle, no headboard, room felt 30 years old without ever changing. Cheap price shouldn't mean bad room it should mean good deal. It was cheap and a very bad deal. Worst nights sleep ever. Also requested a car parking space and they said that you can only have one once you have checked in, well you have to pay for your parking before you go and check in. I didn't know or was informed that you only had to pay 20p for enough time to park and check in outside the hotel. After downloading the parking app the actual parking on the seafront did not come up on the app, had to stop a passer by and borrowed the 20p as had no cash.
6.8 Good
Pros: Good Location and ease of parking . Good Bar and restaurant
Cons: The room was very small and very tired . The air con didn`t work and the window could not be opened and as such the room was extremley stuffy . This is bad enough in April but imagine it would be a nightmare in high summer . Th ensuite was a wet room which was ok , however the room flooded if the shower was on full power shower mode . Also there were no vanity units or shelves for toiletries so these had to be kept in the bedroom as brought in as required .
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Shower
Cons: Good service, however wall are dirty.
4.6 Okay
Pros: convenient for the theatre
Cons: the first room we were allocated was small, dark with 12inches from the window to a solid wall. AWFUL. They did move us to a different room BUT at a £10 upgrade fee!!! Breakfast was pretty awful with bullets for eggs and generally scruffy tables, not laid up and dirty table cloths in a corner. The hotel is looking in great need of work as it is looking tired and scruffy.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing a dirty hotel
Cons: Hotel was dirty, room 12 toilet seat was broken, urine round base of toilet, bedding was stained with tea/coffee, was given another room was of large size again not fully clean, breakfast was cold and dinning area again dirty
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was fantastic bed very comfortable
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good for the price we paid! Big room and a window even though it said we wouldn’t have a window
Cons: Staff didn’t have great customer service
7.4 Good
Pros: Nice Hotel. My room was a disabled sea view room - very nice. My son and grandaughter's room was much smaller and partly looked onto a brick wall and was very hot at night even with the window open. Also the lift broke down twice and we were on the 4th floor
5.4 Okay
Pros: - Great location - Comfy beds -Modern bathrooms with good showers -Spare pillows and cover in room
Cons: - Switched rooms 3 times - First 2 rooms were honestly shocking Finger prints and black dirt marks on walls. Floor not vacumed Toilet not cleaned. Pubic hair on toilet seat. Dust everywhete around the rooms. Window sills not cleaned woth dirt and dead bugs. If kayak would allow me to upload photos I'd show you! - Staff on reception were just not welcoming and friendly. - One male manager helped with my complaint but the female receptionists stood talking in the back room for a good 5 minutes with customers waiting (even if its eork related at least acknowledge customets and advise them you'll be there soon)

Pros: Minor thing though, need more long-life milk rather than just two which It is just enough for one cup of tea! Apart from that It is all good.
Cons: staff is very helpful and very pleasant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I absolutely loved my stay at The View Hotel. It was my second time at this beautiful hotel in Eastbourne right opposite the beach. The hotel is close by plenty of restaurants, the town shopping centre is literally about a 10-15 minute walk away. More importantly, the hotel rooms are spotlessly clean with comfortable beds accompanied with a tv, kettle, safe and complimentary tea and coffee. The bathroom is wonderfully clean too. I had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning soon :)

Cons: The radiator made a strange banging sound at night . But this was minor
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Massage was great in the spa, meal in the garden restaurant was fantastic, breakfast in the room was great!
Cons: Room was at the back of the property and very noisy at night due to air conditioning unit being just outside window.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, service, amenities, hot water, clean towels and linen.
Cons: View (not even a town view but a view of the back of the other side of the hotel). Disappointing for just under £200 a night.
6.7 Good
Pros: Mostly the staff were great. One person was particularly off hand and unhelpful.
Cons: It is advertised as dog friendly, and you pay for your dog each night. She was only allowed in the bedroom. Absolutely nowhere else. I asked if we could sit in a quiet place one afternoon and have tea together with her and was told it would have to be run by the manager first, and he wasn’t available to talk to me. We therefore had to have breakfast separately and either eat in our room or go out in the rain to a dog friendly establishment outside.

Pros: Everything else
Cons: Parking was horrendous
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything and breakfast
Cons: N/A
5.7 Okay
Pros: The first member of staff to great us was lovely, young guy with short, light coloured hair, think he was local. Very friendly and helpful, excellent. We were given a room away from main part on third floor as the place was packed with very loud international students, so our room was quieter. Had breakfast twice the staff cooked us vegetarian sausages to order. Plenty of food, pastries, toast, fruit, yoghurt, cooked items for English breakfast. Lady who cleaned our room was very polite. Parking permit was given to us for £1 a day, just put it on each evening to cover next day, worked well. You just have to find a space on the seafront as close as you can.
Cons: Unfortunately the day we arrived a pair of men's pants were under the beds which had been pushed together to make a king sized bed. I was with my daughter and we wanted a twin room. The room was incredibly hot with a very small window which barely opened. View was lovely but hard to see round netting/ close stonework. They separated beds the next night, but the pants which we left by the bin weren't taken as they must have thought they were ours (despite us both being women! I guess they couldn't make the assumption though) When I raised what had happened the day we left, the guy on the desk, who was dark haired kind of Spanish looking/sounding, argued with me that I should have reported it on the first day. I said it was kind of embarrassing. He just kept telling me that "next time something like this happens in a hotel you should report it so we can deal with the cleaners'. It was like he was telling me what to do in a hotel. We are well-travelled! He was pretty much shouting at me as I left which made me feel horrible and put a damper on the day. What bothered me was it was extremely hot and the cleaners had a lot to do, I felt he was just going to fire someone over it. Breakfast was cleared away at 10 very promptly, despite the fact we'd had to wait 20 minutes for our vegetarian sausages. Lots of people who appeared to be staff seemed to wander around a lot not doing much. Often no one on the front desk and no security to the building as you didn't need a key to get to the lifts/stairs/room areas. Trying to cross the road outside is like dicing with death! Traffic is crazy but beach is opposite only a few yards away. Eastbourne- hmm bit dodgy not great! Pier is lovely though.

Pros: Lovely airy public rooms and gardens. Breakfast choice and service very good.

Cons: Bath too slim/narrow as was the bathroom itself - too small.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean hotel with decent sized rooms and attentive staff.
Cons: NA
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was delicious and the young man serving was very attentive and efficient. View from our window was lovely and the hot water was plentiful.
Cons: I didn't like the tiny bathroom - not room to swing a cat. Also, the corridors to and from our room to reception were very narrow and dated. The property in my view is not suitable for older people because of those stairs and so many doors to go through! Generally I think the hotel was fairly clean but bearing in mind the current Corona Virus I felt more could have been done to ensure the room was really clean. I saw a cleaner cleaning the revolving door handles but she didn't do a really thorough job. At a time like this - this is crucial!
6.5 Good
Pros: Helpful and communicative staff, decent location overlooking the beach.
Cons: Rather tired rooms with worn furniture, carpets and third rate shower facilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I upgraded to a sea room which really improved my stay. I loved having the window open hearing and seeing the waves.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Older hotel, but it felt very homey, with a wonderful location, overlooking the beach, comfortable beds, clean rooms with a beautiful high-end restaurant with a great selection and variety.
6.7 Good
Pros: Lovely staff. Had dinner in the hotel and it was excellent. Breakfast was excellent too. Jhansi a working lift.
Cons: The bed mattress was fairly old and the making of bed could have been better. NO parking except on street and that is very limited.

Pros: Good location . Friendly housekeeping - request for extra pillows was dealt with immediately clean , bright with an ambience of values of yesteryear.
Cons: initial reception - very unprofessional and dismissive . - however this was mentioned to management and an apology was forthcoming. Reception staff are the first impression of a hotel and can make or break a decision to be a repeat customer. The aftercare outweighed the initial impression.

Pros: The downstairs areas have recently been refurbished and are extremely nice. The bar area, lounges and restaurants are very tastefully decorated and furnished and it was a pleasure to use them. I loved the restaurant with its large windows overlooking the sea. The bed in my room was extremely comfortable. The location is ideal for the town and the beach. We went to see a show at the Congress Centre in the evening and it was only a short walk from the hotel which was great.
Cons: The first room which had been allocated to me was tiny and did not have any hot water. I was therefore moved to another single room which was larger and more pleasant. The water in this room was boiling! The shower had a low water pressure. Also, although the radiator was not on, the room was very hot during the night. The bed was extremely comfortable, but the temperature in the room made it hard to sleep well through the night.

Pros: Nothing! The last time we stayed in a Best Western was in New Zealand.........that was what you called a "BEST" Western! No Comparison.
Cons: "Standard Double" was just about right. Once we found it ....... two 76 year olds , booked in....third floor you say? s'okay.. got a lift. What they didn't mention was we had to take the stairs a half floor down again to the 'broom cupboard' with our luggage! That's about how big the room was. Room looked out to the rear of the kitchen, nice bare walls opposite with nice picturesque sanitary pipes dotted about, and plenty of banging and clanking from the catering/kitchen staff below all day! Thank you all.

1.0 Poor
Pros: Breakfast ok
Cons: Staff and receptionist attitude very bad and does not respect our request although we are disabled and they have no respect to Deaf and Deaf blind people because disablility priorty should comes first although we did inform them of our disability when we booked! This is a massively disappointed with waiter's attitude is disgusting regarding to seating as Deaf Blind need a very good light position even they don't care as they said the table is reserved! Our two room I booked have no hot water running till late as we all are supposed to have a good shower before going out inb the evening and I did report this situation and all they just apologised nothing more! Most of wallpaper peeled off or bubbled and lots of damp marked showing and bathroom not safe alhough one of bathroom radiator bracket is loose, rusting and not heating although it bit cold and both room is absolutely stinks no sweet smell. Our double bedroom flooring is bad as it is uneven and the bed is in slope not flat! The Curtain is not fully closed. Bathroom flooring tiles cracked and not safe as well! Ceiling light is not clean and disgusting! Other room have socket slightly loose and damaged and this is dangerous especially to Deaf Blind - I might report this to Health Enviroment regard to this poor conditon of this two room which is not safe! I have taken a lots of Photographs of this two room! Who do you think living in this poor conditions although we paid for one night!
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location was good as it was right on the beachfront although the Pier was closed due to a fire in a nearby hotel. The extra cost of 1 pound to park your car in the side street per day was a bonus.
Cons: The room I stayed in needed some serious attention. Carpets and curtains old and shabby. The bed (double) was a pull out couch with one side completely hollow. The TV reception was not good at all and the shower over the bath was miserable and kept falling off the hook even though the water pressure was low. The central heating in my room was also not working. There were strange (building) noises all the time as though the place was moving. The only modern thing about this hotel was the key access to your room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent for the pier and walking into the town centre. Breakfast was very good plenty of choice. Overall excellent value for money.
Cons: The decor just seems a bit dated.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We were not in Albany Lions ( which was closed for some time )but in Mansion Albany, which was 200 hundred metres away. We had very nice room with a sea view and the staff of the hotel was so kind that they prepared a breakfast for us earlier. We were very satisfied.

Pros: Sally was very welcoming. The views were lovely including a firework display on the Sat night in the distance. Breakfast was lovely and accommodation was nice.
Cons: Not sure it was fine. Perhaps the room a little smaller than expecting but it was nice.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Area and 500 year old house look fantastic. Parking easy.
Cons: 70 year olds had to lie flat on the floor to turn on power for bedside lights. Heating on so we had to open very old windows in a gale that allowed a swarm of crane flies in. Very small bedroom and bathroom with heavy bedding.
