10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners of the hotel were fantastic! They were pleasant, funny, and helpful, and their English was superb! Even though this is a reasonably big hotel, you felt like you were being greeted by B&B owners. They were the kind of people you would tell at the end of the stay, "Come stay with us if you're in Chicago." The room was a perfectly "normal" sized hotel room, very comfortable, and impeccably clean. The breakfast room was beautiful, the buffet was the best we had in Germany on a 10-day trip, and the breakfast staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. It's a very short walk to the center of town (3-5 mins), and a 5-minute walk to the Hufeland Therme spa, which was amazing. The property has nicely tended gardens, and exceeded all of our expectations.
Cons: Honestly, there was nothing about this property that I would complain about.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fine, free parking, good, fast internet.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were very friendly.

Pros: Superb breakfast, very friendly staff and excellent room.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I loved the owner and his wife. They made us feel like part of their family with all sorts of extra little gems to delight and surprise. I was lucky enough to get room 9 3/4. It is cute, lovely Potter room. Just the right size for a single.
Cons: Finding the elevator the first time, and the petite parking lot. We were able to street park, so I only had to experience the lot once. Large cars are difficult.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great people - really helpful
Cons: No evening dining or bar facilities- but close to lots in town
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was clean, airy, huge window, balcony, quiet, comfy beds.
Cons: Stay too short!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: We have traveled by bike in Europe for the last 6 summers, staying at almost 400 hotels. The Christenhof has THE BEST breakfast of all of them! This was our second stay, and we came back because of that breakfast. It was just as fantastic this time. Not just good food, but gourmet choices such as small slices of stuffed aubergines, bite-sized pieces of quiche, or avocado-pear salad, plus eggs cooked fresh for each person. And much, much more, all freshly prepared and garnished with light touches of fresh herbs. The location is on a quiet street that is just 100 m from the heart of the Altstadt. They even have secure covered bicycle parking. The owners are super-friendly.
Cons: Our only complaints are that the room was fairly small, with only one chair, and the beds harder than usual. But it was quiet, and in any event, all is forgiven when you are served a gourmet breakfast!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome by owners, fantastic breakfast, all days coffee & tea at the reception/restaurant area.
9.6 Excellent

Friendly and efficient staff. Family run. Comfortable room.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent despite us having to leave early we were able to help ourselves to what was on offer
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Exceptional breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely a great pleasure to stay at this hotel. Very friendly staff and owners. A little place with where there is time to care about the guests. Go here not to rush, but to give yourself the time to enjoy the historic city and old buildings where this hotel is located and especially leave good time to enjoy the breakfast, which is an extraordinary experience at Christinenhof, REALLY delicious an luxury breakfast not to compare with the typical traditional hotel breakfasts.
Cons: Nothing only wish we booked for more nights ;-), but will return.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We expected a nice hotel and found it wasn't only nice - it was amazing. The staff were really nice, and it was *so* obvious how much heart and soul they poured into their hotel and their guests. The flowers in the reception, the breakfast (to die for!), the little treasurehunt in a painting they have for the kids, which the oldest man in the staff (fairly sure it was a two generation Family driven hotel) told the kids about with the most adorable enthusiasm. It was extremely close to the main street, and the city was picturesque. We're definitely coming back!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: the room was sparkling clean, I found the park place reserved for me (I have announced that I come with a big car). This can be usual for a hotel. If you want to get the unusual, it's mandatory to eat there. The breakfast ist very big, but what I ate fot the dinner... you have to get there and eat something even if you don't stay there for the night. The owner is also the cook and he absolutely knows what to do in the kitchen. You will get a very delicious and BIG portion of whatever you order. If you have time it's also a pleasure to talk to the owners, they are good quality people and they were full of surprises :) The location is perfect if you must be in Aerzen. If you want to go visit Hamelin, the city of the Pied Piper, you can get the bus and in 25 minutes you will be in town. The bus station is only by 50 meters
Cons: It would be perfect if the room had a soap and a glass for water or to place a toothbrush in it. If I had asked for it, I am pretty sure I would get it, because everything else was perfect. But I personally prefer to find these in a hotel room
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good and plenty of it.
Cons: Shower heads could do with being replaced

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owner lady, tasty breakfast, quiet & clean.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I wanted to work on a project and Hotel Schaumburg turned out to be very suitable for that purpose. It's a very typically 'German'-styled traditional hotel, albeit in a positive way, so don't expect state-of-the-art modern features. The pleasant room is clean and the hotel is ideally located, nearby walking-routes through the forest and the mountains and within walking distance of het oldtown (approx. 5-8 walk, there's also a busstop nearby). The room featured a very nice writing desk and both the bed and the bathroom were more than adequate. The hostess is very thoughtful and professional, and also has a fine command of the English language. Breakfast was good as well. No light pollution at night thanks to the good curtains and its quiet location. Wifi-signal was good too. All in all, a very pleasant place to stay for a number of days. (I had booked the Deluxe Double Room with a balcony for one person.)
Cons: I really can't think of anything negative to say, particularly given the excellent price-quality balance.
7.1 Good
Cons: The hotel doesn't have 24 hours reseption. Although I stated that I was gonna arrive late booking.com accepted the reservation without a notice. I'm lucky the hotel lady woke up and opened the door.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A no frills straight forward hotel providing comfortable accommodation, easy parking, good breakfast and a warm and friendly hostess. The room I stayed in (Room 6) was of generous proportion with a lounge area, large separate bedroom and roomy bathroom with separate WC. The hotel is located in a quiet area so you should be assured of a good nights sleep. Would I stay again...Yes!
Cons: Everything was as I would expect.

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: well situated with a beautiful park
Cons: Unfriendly and unpersonal staff, Bathroom does not meet 5 star standards (dirty plastic! curtain, poor shower in bath) , restaurant is not very good and buffet on Saturday was poor and at no means 5 star quality. As an experienced 5 star traveller this was a very bad experience. The only thing the receptionist could reply on my remarks was next year we will renovate. We left two days earlier...
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable and clean
Cons: A bit expensive
7.5 Good
Pros: Perfect location, nice setting. Room was large enough with additional seating. The chef at the egg station was very friendly and service-oriented (22/04/2018) - I wish all staff was like him! Thanks.
Cons: First of all, I missed a smile on the face of too many staff. I did not have the impression that the overall idea is to the "extra-mile". I felt like a customer and not really as a guest. I have booked this hotel for having SPA treatment which I was determined to use. Though we stayed ther for two nights there was no appointment possible (21/04/2018). Comment at Spa desk: No appointment without advance booking...! (In a 5-Star Hotel with Spa???) Sunday was even closed for no staff available (health issues)!!! - Very disappointing. Wanted to eat in-house in PLATZL Restaurant. We left after 15 minutes after being fully neglected by waiter team. (Food and service across the street were excellent!) Finally, two adults for two nights get one bottle of mineral water for free in a FIVE STAR hotel in a spa water health resort??? Bedtime treat (small pack of sweets) in first night only. FIVE STAR service???
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The wellness and superior breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A Prefect place to stay
Cons: Great breakfast, nice pool, friendly staff, great location
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast quality and choice
Cons: No kettle or tea and coffee drink making facility in our room. The hotel claims to have a free shuttle service to and from the local train station but one of our party who caught an early morning train was charged. I wasn't charged later the same day for the same service.
7.5 Good
Pros: Peaceful and relaxing with beautiful surroundings
Cons: Warm and ventilation from last century
7.1 Good
Pros: Wifi was not strong
7.0 Good
Pros: The grounds are just beautiful and very relaxing.
Cons: I did not like that all the notices and explanations were in German without any English translation. When I thought about considering a treatment in the spa, there were no English translations of what was being offered. Our first room which was facing the front of the hotel was very noisy. I asked to change the room and we were given a room at the back of the hotel which was much better and had a balcony.
7.9 Good
Pros: Wonderful breakfast. Very good sauna and SPA.
Cons: The room was very cold =(

Pros: Nice place and neighbourhood, nice house, friendly staff. The breakfast room is really cozy, the view is great. Close to the city center/old town. Good sized room with a narrow but well working bathroom.
Cons: The price was a bit high, but that was probably due to a festival in town. No elevator. The breakfast was okay, but could have been a bit more varied. Not a lot to chose from for vegans or people with food allergies.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Immaculately clean ,nice breakfast perfect will stay again
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a beautiful mansion-size home converted into a B&B. Excellent location 10 min walk from old town. Wonderful service, large comfortable room and bathroom. Highly recommend
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was well appointed and the staff remembered that we had stayed in that room on a previous visit. It was spacious and both the room itself and the ensuite were immaculately clean. The continental breakfast offered a very good range of bread, meat, cheese, cereals. drinks and fruit etc. as well as hard boiled eggs. Parking is on-site and it is a short walk into the centre of the old town which has a good selection of places to eat. Our hostess was also very friendly as were the other members of staff.
Cons: A lamp on the desk would have made working there a little easier. This is a small point!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is nice, clean and runs by friendly staff. Room was large and beds comfortable. Bathroom could be a bit larger but is still large enough to turn around. Breakfast buffet is correct.
Cons: By hot days, due to the absence of air-conditioning, sleeping with the windows open are challenging due to the traffic on the main road.

Pros: Very clean and efficiently run small hotel that was more like a guest house. Rooms comfortable but very limited TV for English viewers
Cons: Typical continental breakfast but nothing to attract British folk such as cooked eggs made to order

Pros: A genuine family-run hotel and restaurant where the guest's wellbeing is the guiding rule. Single rooms are often a bit spartan, but here it was spacious with a writing desk for work. WiFi working perfectly. Bathroom also unusually roomy with even a bathtub. Spotlessly clean and with ample supply of towels. For dinner in the tastefully furnished dining room I had an oxbouillon with small dumplings and vegetables, followed by a Zander in brown butter, piping hot from the skillet. Several German wines by the glass. Fresh flowers, heavy linen napkins and excellent quality glasses were added pleasures Breakfast was more than adequate, but some bacon and scrambled eggs would been welcome
Cons: The mattress was OK, but not on par with the overall quality of the hotel. One light bulb was out of order, but by swapping between lamps one could avoid having to go downstairs for a replacement. And, yes there is no elevator.

4.6 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was amazing.
Cons: Bathroom and rooms are really like old fashion. For this price I have been paying int his hotel is definitely not worth. Bathroom is very old fashion, rooms are not enough big, the spa is really small. To expensive hotel for this what they offer. For the price I paid in this hotel - I get First business class in other hotels.

7.9 Good
Pros: The beds (twin bed room) were very comfortable. The room size and bathroom was also just right. The breakfast was exceptional and so were the breakfast staff. My wife loved the pool and spent a couple of hours in there, which was quite nice for me as well! The cleaning staff were also nice and friendly.
Cons: Reception staff could have been friendlier. They were there to do a job and that was it. At breakfast all the beans were gone although there were still some 25 minutes left until the 'warm' breakfast finished and yet when l asked for some beans I was told by a female cook in white, "there are no more!". There was no kettle or iron in the room and according to reception there were also none available.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was most amazing which a lot of choice for everyone... I enjoyed the choice of cereals and yoghurts, but also the different breads and spreads were super !!
Cons: Finding parking in the neighbourhood can be a bit critical but on short walking distance there is some free parking available...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very confortable hotel, with very good location and very good breakfast
Cons: The girl at the reception the afternoon we arrive( the girls next morning were really nice). She was so DRY. The Mercure at Frankfurt also had a really disgusting man at reception (unacceptable treat towards the customer). It´s hard to imagine where Mercure hotels gets these people with such disgusting behavior in a country like Germany where in 15 days of stay we haven´t met anything but really pleasant and nice people.

Pros: Excellent boutique hotel. Fabulous location in the heart of the old town, amongst all the beautiful buildings and cafes and rest. Room was reasonably quiet and spotless. Staff were very nice - putting the customer first and willing to help with advice, maps and any other things - booking taxis, always cheerful. The breakfast was simply excellent with a large array of foods, tea, breads, cold meats, salmon etc as well as eggs. Would absolutely stay there again and very happy to recommend as 10/10
