Cons: The electric heater in the room was very noisy- they made some attempt to fix but it actually needed replaced (this was an executive room)
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location. Room. Staff friendliness
Cons: Only 1 large towel out. No info 're the free wifi. No attention to extra cleanliness during covid 19 and no questions asked if visitors health. Definitely not impressed with buffet breakfast and no requests for hotel guests to stay 2m apart. No refund offered for early closure of spa facilities Nice place but seemingly not great at dealing with a crusus. Only 2 bike spaces
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every member of staff we met were so helpful and friendly they did everything they could to help .We had traveled to a wedding and due to government changes in how many people could be at the wedding some people couldn’t attend, they pulled out all stops to make it a day we will never forget, it is a day we will remember for all the right reasons. Fantastic day fantastic memories and fantastic service.
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Cons: Cheaper meals in restaurant.
6.0 Good
Pros: Barman was friendly, huge gin selection. Breakfast was ok.
Cons: Heater in the room sounded like a helicopter taking off, giving us the option of either being warm OR being able to sleep. Luxury executive room, seems a very generous description of the room. Stayed in far better hotels for less. Spa facilities were very basic, and tired.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Pillows and bed very comfortable
Cons: Carpet not as clean as could have been. Several pieces of plastic found on carpet Not much room in bathroom to place own toiletries Soap holder to near shower.

Pros: Most of the staff couldn't do enough for you, they made it as easy and as comfortable as possible for me and my little boy, they allowed me to leave pushchair and luggage behind reception after checkout untill I had to get the train back home, very helpful and kind
Cons: One member off staff was rude
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel was shut down on the first night of arrival, due to Coronavirus, but we were allowed to stay for the night and gave us breakfast in the morning. much appreciated.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was very good
Cons: Room could do with a re-paint and up grade whole room in poor condition
4.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast statt were brilliant
Cons: Room was horrible, slopping floors, bathroom was in a poor state, although was clean, when we arrived the grumpy reception guy said you won't get breakfast and probably only here 1 night gave us the key that was it. We tried to go back to the pub and it was closed which we understood although when we explained we were guessed they said just go round nice
4.6 Okay
Pros: Nice staff, good hot breakfast, good location and free parking
Cons: The bedrooms are so rundown, the carpet looks terrible and dirty. Bathroom needs remodelling as well. The radiator made a terrible racket ALL THE TIME, I had to turn it down at night so it’s either sleep cold or don’t sleep. Non existent WiFi, the bed shakes every time some one runs down the corridor.
1.0 Poor
Pros: The meals were fine with Stacey in the Kitchen and her Mum waiting on the Tables. The Waiter for one evenings dinner was also very helpful ( I think he was Scottish).
Cons: The Room was Rubbish. It wasn',t cleaned or hoovered while we were there. They just about emptied the bins and put fresh tea bags in dish and swished round the sink. The towel rail in the Bathroom was missing. The shower was not mixing, hot one side, cold the other, obviously needed mending. The back was missing of the remote control for the television and the handle on one of the bed side cabinets. There were no tray mats on the dressing table or tray or mats on the bedside table leaving the surfaces badly marked, and the staff didn't even tidy the beds. they left them just as we got out of them. The room was also quite cold at times , and the water was far too hot in the hot tap, as it was five years ago ( very dangerous for children!), and the cold water came out of the tap cloudy. I contracted a tummy bug on the second day and we came home on the third, instead of staying the week.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: First room was on second floor, was not happy with the cleaning standard and the room looked tired. Told them as you sign a waiver for an damages. They moved me to another room on first floor. Sadly the curtain was ripped and again room needs some TLC. Music on ground floor vibrated upwards.

Pros: We upgraded to a premium room and it was excellent: large room, comfortable bed, outstanding views. The dinner was very good value and the staff were helpful

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. An ancient monument in the sea. What is not to like.
6.0 Good
Pros: The venue is steeped in history which gave it that special edge. Staff at the venue were very friendly, polite and helpful. The rooms were huge along with the bed and very comfortable along with plentiful hot water. Bearing in mind that you're on a Fort in the middle of the Solent, the basics were all there. Plenty of areas or snugs to spend private time if yoh wanted and many references around the Fort to its history.
Cons: Last minute change from No Man's Fort to this venue. Whilst this venue was more exclusive, it felt as though some things were too much effort. The advertised Hot Pool hadn't been filled and was not available, the promise of the Fire Pit and evening drinks was met with an excuse of 'its cold and a bit damp'. Whilst it was fresh, the Fire Pit is situated in a sheltered area out of the wind and it was a dry evening. The breakfast was somewhat lacking in that the venues definition of a continental breakfast a tiny croissant and an apple. The mention of 'fine dining experience should be ignored as the food was average with no obvious alternative that didn't require booking in advance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant experience! Would definitely recommend but best if you can be a bit flexible as we had a last minute date change and were later back than expected due to the weather. Food and staff were great, overall a unique experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We actually stayed at Spitbank Fort and found it to be a good blend of historical interest, indoor and outdoor games and activities, comfortable beds in spacious bedrooms and good quality food .... would definitely recommend - and will visit again
Cons: Bedroom lighting could be improved by adding lighting in bathroom vanity unit and dressing table ( for use with hairdryer ....
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was brilliant. Had the best time. The manager was exceptionally good. His tour around the fort was really interesting and he could not help you more.
7.0 Good
Pros: View, staff, food.
Cons: Shared dining.

Pros: A beautiful building inside and out with stunning views to ocean. Easy walking access to parks and the millennium walking path. Comfortable rooms and wonderful friendly staff. We were staying in Portsmouth unexpectedly as a result of speedy ferry departure from France due to CV19 situation. Especially Daniel who made us great coffee and talked with us for quite a while to keep us distracted from our worries.
Cons: Nothing

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room, the hotel and the staff are all fantastic.
Cons: Unfortunately due to the current circumstances the hotel was not able to offer lunch or dinners, only breakfast as room service, but they did alow us to bring in our own food and they provided plates and cutlery. :)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It's a beautiful property with a gorgeous exterior and entrance hall. My room was neat and comfortable with plenty of storage. Bed and pillows were amazing! There were useful in-room facilities including a desk, mini fridge, kettle, and large flat screen TV. Staff were lovely and very helpful. The hotel is across from a large park, with the water around 10 minute's walk away. There's a high street with shops, bars and restaurants around 5 minutes' walk away. Gunwharf Quays is around 15-20 minutes' walk, or there's a bus stop right outside the hotel. It's a great location if you don't mind being outside the city centre.
Cons: The shower was quite small and needed updating as the shower head was loose/wobbly. That's the only (small) negative, though!

2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Was meant to stay 3 nights, stayed one. Walls are so thin that when at 1am the people in next room came in, they woke me up as were very loud. They kept the telly on all night, can only assume they fell asleep at its it on. Needless to say, I couldn’t sleep from that point on. I looked in the room for reception out of hours number but couldn’t find it. When complaining at reception the next day, I was told the number was on key...I hadn’t seen or noticed this and at no point was I told. I couldn’t risk staying another night (they confirmed neighbours were still there some nights) and couldn’t move either of us. I asked for a refund for the unstayed nights but the man refused. I work for a reputable sailing company and can assure you, I’m a professional person and deal with things in a civilised manner. To be treated in this way is by no means ok. I checked out without a refund or apology and extremely tired. I will if course let the firm where I work also know. This property will be avoided.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Convenient for port. Small comfortable clean rooms. Ideal.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Close to amenities
Cons: Towels didn’t smell clean, it was like they had been washed in a very full wash, they looked clean enough tho

Pros: Rooms were clean and hotel lobby impressive
Cons: No air conditioning
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice relaxed place. Breakfast very good quality. Room very spacious and exceptionally clean. Massive bathroom with every thing you could need.
Cons: The only problem we found was the room was very hot and you couldn’t change the setting on the radiators. We had to have the window wide open to cool the room down through the night which was a bit of a waste of heat we thought.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very clean and comfortable with a good supply of tea. Breakfast was very good and evening meals in the bar good and reasonable value. Location was fantastic only a short walk from the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and IOW ferries.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff really friendly. Interesting and unique place to stay. Relaxed atmosphere. All profits go to a worthwhile charity. Extremely handy for station and Historic Dockyard.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location for our visit to the historic dockyard. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast buffet.
Cons: Bed was worn out. Carpet stained. No AC, so had to open the window.
7.5 Good
Pros: Handy for the ferry and short walk to restaurants at Gunwharf Quays. Comfy bed. Spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Hotel rooms were in the west wing so meant a bit of a maze-like trek to get there. Although we’d paid for breakfast we didn’t eat it because we needed to check in at Brittany Ferries terminal at 07:15 and breakfast starts at 07:00. No exceptions. Pity the hotel doesn’t cater for early morning ferry departures given its connection with the sea! We were given a packed lunch instead.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and very comfortable beds. We were given an upgraded room as a goodwill gesture for concerns read previously on Tripadvisor which proved groundless. Excellent service. Would definitely recommend.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Read the history of the place in the guest information book you will find in your room. It reveals the incredible story of a couple who have invested love, skill and a huge amount of hard work in the preservation of a fabulous bit of Portsmouth history. The bar, lounge and breakfast room are welcoming venues to meet guests from around the world. The breakfast was cooked to order and of first-rate quality.
Cons: The shower controls took some time to master, but in the end, we succeeded.

7.5 Good
Cons: The electric heater in the room was very noisy- they made some attempt to fix but it actually needed replaced (this was an executive room)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Most of the staff couldn't do enough for you, they made it as easy and as comfortable as possible for me and my little boy, they allowed me to leave pushchair and luggage behind reception after checkout untill I had to get the train back home, very helpful and kind
Cons: One member off staff was rude
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel was shut down on the first night of arrival, due to Coronavirus, but we were allowed to stay for the night and gave us breakfast in the morning. much appreciated.
Cons: We had to leave after one night, but not their fault..
6.0 Good

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff and food was excellent
Cons: Nothing I really enjoyed my stay
