Pros: I thought the apartment was amazing. The apartment was spotless and comfortable and had so much to offer , My contact whilst staying Katleen was always at the other end of the line , to answer my question and was always very helpful. Having a delicious breakfast brought up to the room every morning was also a bonus for me , to prepare me for the day ahead. I would recommended and will be recommending this apartment to many people, really lovely apartment and worth every penny you pay.

Very dark, bedside light stands were both broken, curtains did not close fully leaving a crack where streetlight came in, no sheers on windows so looking directly into apartment across the street unless you close the blackout curtains which makes the room really dark, street noise during the night, mold on shower tiles

B&B Hullebrug - Heist op den Berg - Building
5
9.2 Excellent (193 reviews)
C$ 172+
7.5 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff that was helpful with all questions. Excellent breakfast, superb breakfast room away from the bedrooms in a separate area. Plenty of parking space. Love the honesty bar, good choice of beers available at cheap prices. Fantastic bathroom for our room!
Cons: Kangaroo house serving parents and a family with two kids and a single dude with dogs, then extra rooms added. Dog hair everywhere, especially in the common areas, but also in the room itself. We feel a bit shafted because we booked a specific room, but due to the B&B being completely full, we got assigned a different room - we don't mind in general, just that when you call beforehand and you want to confirm a specific room and they provide you with a different room, it just feels unprofessional.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: For us it was an intermediate stop on the road, which turned out to be very pleasant. The original and distinctive interior rooms with modern equipment, rich breakfast and lovely landscape create a very pleasant and soulful atmosphere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very beautiful property that was well maintained and very homely. Located very close to Azelhof where we were competing. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely recommend to friends.
Cons: Nothing. It was perfect.

Pros: Large, nice and clean room, beautiful property.
Cons: Not all of the staff was equally as friendly. The breakfast was so-so
7.5 Good
Pros: This B&B is nice, with a lovely view on the river. It is very rustic, the rooms are clean and large.
Cons: This time I had a problem during breakfast, the radio wasn't working and the lady was not able to fix it so I had a terrible noise all the breakfast long.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: After a long day travelling we were met with a warm welcome without feeling overwhelmed. Our room was perfect with every detail carefully thought through. We were given a good recommendation for supper within pleasant walking distance. I would love to return to spend longer, do some walking and enjoy the garden and facilities. The information provided about the area was clear and plentiful and the whole place seemed loved and well tended and clean. A great find.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good, room and bathroom large and clean. I have appreciated so much that the room was heated at my arrival.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are very spacey and comfortable. The style is both rustic and cosy in respect of the finish of the buildings but without compromising in respect of the facilities which are modern and uptodate. Eg very nice television, wall sockets everywhere and a good standard bathroom. The location beside the river and close to a nature park is perfect for nature lovers, walkers and bikers. In respect of decorations there is a strong link with the local culture, mainly the writer Felix Timmermans. A lot of attention has been paid to providing extra little comforts such coffee makers etc. There are also books and DVDs available. Overall it feels luxurious and very homely.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a spacious duplex room and really enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, good breakfast. The property & surroundings have a very nice atmosphere.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast alone is worth the money.
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like, except for 1 defect bulb in the bathroom.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great facilities, comfy bed and stylish.
Cons: Nothing. Was satisfied with everything.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was very clean, spacious and well designed. We were offered either a room at the front or the back of the hotel, where the latter would be more quiet. We choose one at the front and there was no noise at all, the city is very quiet overall. The availability of a Chromecast on the tv was a nice suprise. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was very good! Lots to choose from and all very tasty.
Cons: There is no amenity kit in the bathroom, something I normally wouldn't even notice. The same holds for a place to put the soap or a toothbrush. The heated mirror kinda makes up for it.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel, located in the centre of Antwerp. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Also the interior was amazing, well decorated.
Cons: N.v.t
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean, with a very nice staff, and good size room. Directly across from the zoo and train station. Quiet, especially considering the location. All public transport, city bikes, and electric scooters are just out front. Good value for money.
Cons: It’s a bit farther out from the old town center than expected. Coaches, buses, and trams stop right out front. There is also a large Ferris Wheel from the zoo so there are a lot of people waiting around at all hours. Was awoken by an accidental call from the front desk at 1:00 in the morning for a pizza delivery that I didn’t order. Please match names and not just room numbers before calling rooms.
10.0 Excellent

7.0 Good
Pros: the room ; the location of the hotel ; the breakfast content (much choice)
Cons: - the pillows on the beds were too soft, no support for the head or neck ! - the breakfast area is too small, too much chaos, too many people at the same time. there is no logic flow.

Pros: Good value for money, 61 Euros for twin room with nice breakfast buffet. Parking garage below hotel. Excellent location in city centre.
Cons: Twin rooms were comfortable, but slightly too small as there were two queen size beds.
6.0 Good
Pros: We had a brilliant weekend rate. The hotel is a business hotel and our twin room was perfect for our needs. The breakfast was full self-service and plenty full. Leuven is a lovely place and the hotel is very well situated in town. We had a room out to the back which was blissfully quiet.
Cons: The receptionist on duty was not very welcoming - she seemed to class us by the rate we were paying and the rucksacks on our backs. Or she was just not enjoying her job.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was extremely central. THe breakfast was very good. Rooms spacious and clean. All required facilities present. The hotel staff were extremely helpful

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The mattress
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, helpful staff
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great multiple-lingual staff with good customer service, no request was too much trouble, and within 5 minute walk to Vismarkt and Grote Markt
Cons: There was a bit of a convoluted walk to get to the elevator; the historic features that the property is celebrated for were not present in the wing I was staying at; the free wi-fi required manual log-ins every few hours, and it would be great if there's a gym
7.5 Good
Pros: Bedroom was very comfortable, friendly staff, good service
Cons: Breakfast was common and overpriced. Lift didn't work
6.8 Good
Pros: Stunning refurbished church, spectacular suite!
Cons: Details - too modest and small bathroom, sober room decoration, fixed hangers (as if we’d steal them :(, limited stock in mini-bar, limited choice of room service.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: n/a
Cons: Booked 2 Junior Suites: Check-in slow and hard. Bed feels like sleeping in the dessert, "Bed" hard and well used (no mattress on the boxspring, just a little (LITTLE) cover). No water pressure in the shower. Un practical room, no space to walk straight, because the "Bed" is in the middle/centre of the room and the (Church) walls are round. Towels are thin like kitchen towels. TV LED lighting stay on (even when the TV is shut down) impossible to sleep with this high volume light.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room, great staff.
Cons: The double bed - there are easy ways (IKEA) to cover the gap between the 2 mattresses, I had the feeling I was sinking in the bed whenever I was close to the middle. Or get a good big mattress. The furniture had some scratches and spots were on the armchairs, plus the stained-glass window had some cracks. Some of these issues can be tackled without major costs and it would improve the overall quality of the room.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location to explore the town centre by foot. Spacious room/studio
Cons: The room overlooked a busy shopping and pedestrian street. During the night it could get a bit noisy but I suppose that's inevitable with all hotels located centrally in town.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: It was too hot and humid and I couldn't sleep at night no air conditioner.
7.0 Good
Cons: I’ve stayed here before but this time it was extremely noisy. I can a baby in the room next to me crying and there were a group standing in the corridor late talking loudly. The walls are quite thin so when there is more than 1 person in the room you can hear a lot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked everything, the location most of all. Really easy to find, staff very nice, very comfortable and clean!
9.5 Excellent
Cons: Having to park the car on the street, then having to go in, check in and receive the key for parking. Bit cumbersome
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was large with kitchenette and desk. Bed was quite comfortable.
Cons: They could have had a bath mat in the bath room. Also the kitchen had no coffee maker of any kind. It would have been nice to have at least salt & pepper in the kitchen along with a sponge for cloth for dishes and a dish towel. It was in the city so a big noisy at night with a vibrant young life.
5.5 Okay
Cons: Appartement was not properly cleaned; arrangement did not really correspond to the pics / description. Tiny bathroom for a 3-/4-bedroom. Some more basics for coffee/tea/sugar/creamer would be perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, clean and convenient.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Apartment was clean and had everything I needed. The receptionist remembered me from previous stays and allocated me a room towards the back of the building 5* customer service skills.

Pros: Location is great ! Right in the city center. Our room was very spacious, with a little kitchen. It was clean. For the price I paid, it’s a very good deal. It was more than what I was expecting.

7.0 Good
Pros: Literally next to the station and the old parts of the city in walking distance.
Cons: Charged right after reservation was made though conditions said payment on arrival. Refunded after complaint, then overcharged when payment was finally taken. Rooms not available at time promised.Staff could be more professional, at least smiling. Beds show signs of tear and wear. A fridge would be welcome at a hotel of their standard.
5.0 Okay
Cons: The room differed from the pictures on booking, I chose the room with one bed, in reality there were two beds moved together. I checked in around 10p.m so at the day of arrival I asked to check out late as well, the reception worker said it wasn’t possible, then the room itself wasn’t illuminated fully, there were no bathrobes and bathroom accessories as a toothpaste, toothbrush and etc. just nothing but the reception worker told me it was according to the rules, which is lower than 3 stars hotel. As far as breakfast is concerned: the reception worker has informed me that it is till 10:30, however when I came there next day at 10:00 the waiter told me they close at 10:00, obviously they did not add any products and the choice was super poor, when I asked again what was the exact time for breakfast at reception, they could not find an official proof of the schedule. After the breakfast I tried to sleep and two times different workers tried to approach my room and were knocking continuously, which is not normall in my opinion. Very dissapointing experience at park inn in Leuven. Not my first time in Radisson and this time it was a very negative experience.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: If you are traveling to Leuven by train, the location is absolutely perfect.. and it really is just a 10-15 minute stroll into the centre :) Breakfast was really good! Freshly made and well managed, even on a busy weekend morning. Congrats to the staff!
Cons: As others have mentioned, the bathroom and the toilet are separated. This is actually fine, but I would really hope for a washbasin in the toilet to wash your hands. Some of the room furniture was looking a bit worn out and it would have been great to have a fridge in the room to keep drinks cool.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: The thing that we did not like is the presence of the toilet which was separate from the showroom and the sink.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: For anybody arriving by the direct trains from Antwerp, Brussels or Brussels Airport the hotel is next to Leuven Station. The receptionist was very helpful and the breakfast was available from 06.30 Monday to Friday and 07.00 at Weekends. The room was a twin with ample space, a chair to sit in to read and another at a desk. The Shower is a good size walk in with room to clean yourself. A washbasin is in the same room. The toilet is in a separate room. Beds were comfortable.
Cons: My one complaint was the lack of anywhere to place underwear or other items that did not go on a hanger. There was a number of hangers for coats and shirts, pants etc, but nothing for items you would put in a draw. In fact there were no draws in the room and I had to leave some items in my case and open/close it each day.
5.5 Okay
Pros: If you have little expectations, then its good for you but nothing specific good to consider.
Cons: Had lot of trouble while checking-in. Rooms are very small. Location is not great.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent - near train station and rock Werchter shuttle. Did not take breakfast - there are many places to choose from in Leuven
Cons: nothing

Pros: It’s spacious, staffs are super nice and resourceful, great location! Well equipped kitchen. Nice decoration and the rooftop bar is awesome! Great value for money!
Cons: The place is not very well cleaned. There were still some stains on the floor, the toilet paper is not new, just little details like this not well done. But for a family of 4, this price and with all the facility , it’s already very good value for money.

7.0 Good
Pros: The location.
Cons: The bathroom was not clean when we first checked in, we asked for another room. The AC is very noisy and annoying. On the checkout day they kept banging on the door very rude and yelling even though it wasn’t late. A lady (house keeping) was standing out the door on the phone yelling as well.

Pros: locations is excellent, good value for money with certain exceptions
Cons: for 3 nights garbage was not taken out, coffee and tea in the room were replaced only after we requested, dirty glasses were left or taken without replacement being left - no eye for details.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Hotel is very close to the main station and to the city centre
Cons: The internet was shockingly expensive! 10euro/hour or 17euro/day! Also my room was cold, there was no shower curtain, burnt out light bulbs. The staff didn't seem too bothered to change any of that.

Overview Reviews
Mercure Mechelen Vé has a historical background. The hotel is located in a former fish smokehouse and cigar factory. The interior has a luxury look and feel which can also be found in our facilities. Enjoy the wellness, be active in the fitness area or try the golf court, which is located a little outside Mechelen. After a busy day, you can eat the most delicious dishes in our restaurant Vé Manger followed by one of our cocktails in the Vé Lounge.
7.5 Good
Pros: Easygoing and friendly, made us feel at home. The gym was small but efficient
Cons: The shower in our room was not well planned. The pavement in the shower very slippery due to a large quantity of water which tends to spread all over also outside the shower area
6.8 Good
Pros: Location was good
Cons: There was a lot of noise on the street at night (Saturday night). Our room also looked clean, but when looking further under the bed there was a lot of dirt (old candy, dust, trash,...). We also enjoyed the wellness, unfortunately it was only available in the morning and also the water of the jacuzzi was really cold.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed at a few hotels in the area now and the Mercure exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be returning and hope to make it my long term hotel of choice in Mechelen. A great experience.
Cons: There is nothing that I can report that is negative reference the Mecure in Mechelen, Excellent Facilities and a great team.
4.5 Okay
Cons: Needs cleaning and refurbisment
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff and great breakfasts
Cons: Could do with the pool restrictions being a bit clearer for UK visitors as the “renting out” is not something I’ve come across before. However The staff managed to find us a small window for two tired ice hockey players to relax in the hot tub in between game days so thanks for that.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel, great location for Mechelen centre, nice area outside to sit and enjoy some food
Cons: Air conditioning didn’t really do much and it was quite warm when I stayed, only a small problem in comparison to all the good stuff, and more than likely a one off in my room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere in the hotel as a previous cigar factory is very cool. The location near all of the bars and close to the Grote Markt was perfect for us while exploring the area.
Cons: The pool and wellness center were very nice but the hours and use of the pool was very confusing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff , very clean
7.5 Good
Pros: Room was great
Cons: Slow reception

Pros: Rooms are very spacious with a great city view. Good breakfast, good location. Good value for money.
Cons: The shower was not clean enough (hairs from previous visitors were not cleaned out). Shower gel/shampoo was not enough for our stay and it was not renewed, so we end up having no shower gel/shampoo at all for the last day of our stay

Pros: Really good location close to to the central station and city center. Friendly staff and comfortable bed.
Cons: I didn't like the view from the room. It's next to some offices.

Pros: The breakfast had good options.
Cons: I prefer to have my eggs made to order, so that I can have low cholesterol option.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Localisation near train station Design of the lobby
Cons: -Bed bugs in my 720 room !!! Worse night ever... Excuses made at check out but no commercial proposition whereas i can not sleep... -No shampoo/ shower gel in the shower -No chance To drink a cocktail or beer when back from dinner, at 00:10 AM.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Perfect location near the central railway station
Cons: 1. It was a renovation in the hotel, but no info about this on booking.com and no regrets or compensation. It was no bar or any other nice space on the first/other floor. 2. It was not clean in the room when we checked in. Diapers were in the bucket in the bathroom. 3. We couldn’t use the safe due to there were no batteries. 4. A few times we saw how the workers who made a renovation in not a clean clothes come in to the elevator with cups with tea or coffee, speaking loudly while guests of the hotel should try not to become dirty.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and modern hotel. Extremely friendly stuff, nice sauna, comfortable bed, lovely bar ...
Cons: Nothing to complain about :)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Unfortunately the breakfast is very expensive. Lots of alternatives nearby :)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is very close to Central Station, Zoo, Choclate Museum. Parking is just under the hotel. It is a little bit expensive comparing for example with Brugge. It is also possible to walk to downtown by feet. we stayed one night in the hotel, all were as we expected. I did last minute reservation. So for family it was not possible to book proper room, i booked two rooms. But when I arrived, at the reception, the staff for the same price they offered the two room family suit, which was really nice for us.
Cons: Hotel can have some free parking for their guests.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is very good - Close to the central station and city center. The staff was nice and the bed was comfortable.
Cons: Can't think of anything
8.3 Excellent
Pros: reception very friendly and location and also price
Cons: no swimming pool and single room size
6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel was in a great location. The rooms were well equipped and very nicely decorated. The hotel is nice and quiet and has a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were very pleasant and helpful with our enquiries.
Cons: Although the sheets on the bed were clean and freshly laundered they were stained. The bed was not a kind rather two single beds pushed together which was a little uncomfortable to sleep. The bed-side table was not very clean and I needed to clean it myself.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel, clean and centrally located. The underground parking is a plus. It costs 15EUR but it is quite recommendable if you arrive by car
7.0 Good
Cons: wifi should be free
6.7 Good
Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: Paying for wifi
4.7 Okay
Pros: Location, nice building, different environment (judish area), close to the city center.
Cons: Cleanliness of the room was poor, service didn't arrive even after two warnings, staff in the restaurant was not trained (meal has arrived late and cold).
8.0 Excellent
Pros: location, comfort and good dinner
Cons: if possible should include breakfast
4.8 Okay
Pros: The room is great value for money
Cons: When my room was cleaned they often left dirty towels and did not remove used shampoo bottles etc.
6.0 Good
Pros: nice rooms, beautiful architecture of the rooms
Cons: terrible breakfast on a sunday morning, hotel fully booked, poor service
6.0 Good
Pros: The coffiee possibility, the ensizing mirror at the toilet, good beds.
Cons: My room was probably next to something that sounded very high, possible a air-condition fan? Luckely I had my earplugs so I could sleep anyway, but if I shouldn't have them I should have asked for another room -and that I feel should be no problem with the service I recived in the check in. I would like to have some more information, eg. regarding how/where to use the wireless and in the elevator some more info about the different levels - eg. here is the bar, breakfast etc.
6.0 Good
Pros: Brand new facility, nice furnishment.
Cons: Too small and hard pillows. Too soft bed.
