10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a really nice bed and breakfast, conveniently located close to Hereford station, and about 15 mins walk from the centre. The room was comfortable, with a nice bathroom, and everything I needed. The full English breakfast served in the nice dining room was gorgeous. The house itself is a charming early 20th century building. Tip- if you walk about 3 mins up the hill and turn left into the park, you quickly come to a wonderful view over Hereford and the Cathedral.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A little way from the centre, but plenty of parking at the front of the house. Large rooms, comfy beds, lovely quality bedlinen, beautiful antique furniture and a fridge in the hallway, stocking water, juice and fresh milk, all make for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Huge tasty cooked breakfast too. They've thought of everything!
Cons: Being very picky here, perhaps an extra shelf in the bathroom to put stuff on?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was superb !!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, furnishings aesthetically pleasing, the fridge with milk and orange juice for use, the microwave coupled with the proximity to Morrisons for a cheap, quick and tasty dinner. Shower in the wet room fabulous. Attentive but not intrusive staff/owner ideal for business travellers. Bed very comfortable. Car parking a blessing.
Cons: Needed earplugs in my front room for nighttime and early morning traffic no double glazing, and noisy arrivals after my bedtime at 11.00 pm. (I live in an isolated rural location so I'm not used to night time traffic)
7.0 Good
Pros: Warm welcome, good refreshments and lovely full English breakfast, great proximity to the train station and town centre.
Cons: The bed was bed was very uncomfortable and squeaky; the headboard was very loose. The noise actually kept us both awake.

Pros: Hosts Lin and Martin were very welcoming. They prepared breakfast for us each day in their beautiful kitchen / dinning room which was cosy yet bright. Lovely healthy breakfast such as avocado on toast if wanted (with the best poached eggs!). Spacious accommodation with good ensuite shower room; separate entrance easily accessible from the parking space. Quiet surroundings in the grounds of their beautiful thatched cottage. Access to the centre of Hereford is about 1 .5 miles drive away. Lin's fabulous self made soft furnishings throughout the property were a talking point and she was able to direct us to a great fabric shop (Doughty's) in Hereford. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful stay at Trellough house and we can't recommend this hidden gem enough. We were attending our friends wedding at the Haybarn wedding venue in Ewyas Harald and this was ideally located between the venue and Hereford. The architecture of the guesthouse is beautiful and you really get the feel you are in a stately home full of character and history. The room was very well decorated with a new ensuite and we had a very comfortable stay. There was plenty of fresh homemade food for breakfast in a beautiful dining room with genuine antique artwork. We were given a very warm and genuine welcome during our stay and the owners provide a very relaxed environment for guests. We look forward to coming back some time again.

Cons: A mug was provided in the room for hot drinks, it would be great to have a mug available at breakfast as well.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner is super happy to please and very accommodating and the breakfast was good
Cons: A little touch up needed in the room we stayed in
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was good.
Cons: Breakfast timings being served between 7 & 9 on a weekend! There are two reasons that come to mind this is done. 1. to get you out so house keepers can attend to the rooms 2. It a cost saving exercise hoping you will not get up so that they save on giving you breakfast!! To be honest it appears unorthodox and would put me off staying there again. bed mattress need changing as very lumpy and uncomfortable. Excessive furniture in a small rooms no space for your luggage bags for example arm chair!! Also had to move room were put into more expensive room because it had a balcony but the room was smaller you were paying for a balcony you didn't use. When we booked the venue fee was for the room when we were paying for it we had to make two separate payment one for the room and one for the car park which was £10:00 per night which was concealed at the booking even though the cost did not increase it lacks transparency as well as giving you no option if you want park elsewhere two separate invoices were issued one for the room. And one for the car park.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Flexible Service

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room -breakfast very high srandard and extremely good value.
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice spacious room.
Cons: Waiting staff helpful but disorganised. Got orders wrong or forgot them more than once. Bath plug didn't stay down. Shower gel and shampoo fixed to wall in shower so had to carry them in my hand to the bath.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good Breakfast normal pub/hotel choices, they did insist that we move to a table adjacent to 2 other couples having breakfast, sitting side by side whilst the rest of the breakfast room was empty. The 2 other couples were not impressed either. But a minor problem, we would happily stay again
Cons: The room we had was over the air conditioner which was no problem for one night but as we stayed for 3 nights a bit less noise might have better but we didn't ask to move so we can't really complain
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good location. Plenty of parking. Rooms in main inn were well presented with high end furnishings and toiletries but the maintenance of the rooms fixtures and fittings was in need of attention. Staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner menu good as were the breakfast options. Service was excellent.
Cons: Lots of noise at night.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nice room, spacious, loccitane toiletries. Nice breakfast.
Cons: Very noisy from the bar. Staff were inexperienced and young. Functional rather than accommodating.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Bed was amazing, wonderful shower, breakfast very good, will stay again when in area.
7.1 Good
Cons: Difficult to get a proper receipt. Allways having issues with it.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent dinner was good value as part of the package. Responded well dealing with my (non top 14) allergy. Staff were great - friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Bed and bedroom comfortable with nice shower.
Cons: If we're really being picky, baked beans and one of the tomatoes not properly warm in what was otherwise an excellent breakfast. A little more clarity if booking the 'with dinner' package that requesting a time for dinner is a good idea.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was freshly cooked plus a buffet selection. We ate in on both evenings of our stay, food was good and tasty. Room was very comfortable and we'll appointed. Lovely big bed with nice linen and decent pillows ( such a change to most places).
Cons: Only minor issue was no shaver point in bathroom so couldn't charge toothbrush.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food here is very well done

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Pilgrim Hotel in Hereford, you'll be a 3-minute drive from Wye Valley and 10 minutes from Hereford Cathedral. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.7 Good
Pros: Our twin bedded room was in the extended part of the property and comfortable.
Cons: Parts of it looked very “tired” and worn. (The cold tap in our bathroom was constantly dripping - wasting water - and may have been for some time?!) I mentioned it to staff, when making payment and the lady at Reception was unaware of this) I also commented on the evening meal and the breakfast the following day, as we were both very disappointed (especially as The Pilgrim had been recommended by friends) with the food! Although we had been told, on arrival, that last orders, for dinner, would be 20.45., when we arrived at the bar, just after 20.30., we were told that, owing to the fact that they hadn’t been busy, they’d closed at 20.00 - but they COULD offer a limited menu, i.e. scampi & chips, ham, egg & chips etc. We both chose Chicken Tikka Masala. This was very un-inspiring, (not much bigger than a Supermarket dish!) with lumps of tough, tasteless chicken in a sauce and rice. At £13.90 EACH plus a glass of wine each, the bill was unreasonable, in my opinion.......Breakfast the following morning was also disappointing. I don’t know for certain but my dry, scrambled egg looked like 1 egg only and was lost on a slice of toast, with another, unnecessary slice, on the same plate - and the mushrooms were either tinned or frozen - NOT fresh! The coffee, in thick white mugs, was tasteless......The lady at Reception apologised, said she would speak to the chef and deducted £10 from the breakfast, which was something. I’m not in the habit of giving this type of review but, especially as it was recommended, I feel it necessary to pass on our comments!

7.1 Good
Pros: Location good for fishing the river Wye.
Cons: No issues.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely comfy bed, quiet spacious room, spacious bathroom, good size TV.
Cons: Nothing.
6.7 Good
Pros: The breakfast was lovely and the location was idyllic. The staff were polite and helpful although they did seem short staffed.
Cons: Both nights I ate at the hotel - the menu was limited also there was 6 items that had ran out of on the first night and 2 the second. The food I did end up by choosing tasted lovely and was well presented. The room was very noisy and there was mould on the bathroom blind. When my room was cleaned after my first night I got back to the hotel at 5pm that afternoon to find my room door hadn't been shut properly by housekeeping. Obviously an accident and nothing had been taken however this should have been double checked.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The views and scenery. the décor was pleasant.
Cons: The room, kept awake by some heavy footed people above and could hear every movement and motion throughout the night. Staff very few and far between. Commented about the room on leaving and reception did not seem to be bothered This place felt more like an old peoples home to be honest

6.3 Good
Pros: The staff are all very friendly and efficient and the food was superb
Cons: The rooms are looking very tired and are in desperate need of refurbishment, one of our rooms had a leaking roof so we were moved to another in which the toilet didn’t work so we were given a screwdriver to manually fill up the cistern. Such a shame as the staff, food, drink and overall atmosphere was faultless.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: I stayed here overnight due to a business trip to Hereford. The hotel is on the main road to the town centre so access to the heart of Hereford is excellent. The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and efficient throughout and took no time getting us booked in or serving drinks and food. There is a good choice of food and drinks on the bar menu which are all reasonably priced. The bedrooms are smart and comfortable and are very quiet throughout the night. Breakfast was brilliant, with a hot and cold buffet available including everything from items to make yourself a full English to fresh fruit and berries to have with your cereal.
Cons: The decor was a touch tired in places, but all areas were extremely well kept and very clean and tidy.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Bathroom tiles lots of black mould.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, coffee slightly less so. The room had good privacy, bed very comfortable, good expanse of surface to put things on. Heating nicely controllable. Really good to have a bath! I could park my car close to the room.
Cons: There was no loo-brush in the bathroom. Also (as usual) shortage of hooks on doors.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the individual chalet style rooms, with their own car parking space. The room had everything we needed, wardrobe space, plenty of mirrors, comfortable bed (if a little creaky) and including extra touches like toiletries and biscuits with the tea and coffee. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Cons: I didn't like the pillows, I cannot abide foam pillows. (I always have to bring my own pillow, why can't hotels use pillows which are soft as down?). One of the bath towels had a large stain mark on it, which , while I'm sure it had been laundered, was off-putting. I ordered room service and, although they were really busy with a party, I didn't get what I ordered.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff happy & helpful. Food very nice with plenty of choice .
Cons: On our two day stay we didn't find anything to fault .
8.0 Excellent
Pros: All the meals we had were really good ,food was hot and great portion size, breakfast was amazing self service with plenty of items to pick from ,full english breakfast, cerals, fruit, yogurt, juice, pastries all food well cooked and hot .
Cons: we booked a garden room not what we thought, there was grass outside but also the car park so not the view we thought we would get, no problem with the room but feel they should say that the veiw is the parking area.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent, lots of variety to suit all needs.
Cons: cobweb behind the curtains in the garden room

6.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast was OK but cafetiere coffee would be more welcomed that Filter
Cons: Staff/host attention... written explanation for using hot water taps in bathroom
7.5 Good
Pros: It was convenient for visiting Hereford.. when we saw the staff they were helpful but after checking in we saw nobody until halfway through eating our breakfast the next morning
Cons: The bathroom looked lovely but the toilet seat was extremely loose and the taps and overhead shower were also very loose. The bathroom was superficially clean but no-one had cleaned the window sill behind the plantation shutters lately.
7.9 Good
Pros: Its fading elegance was charming; Miss Doreen
Cons: nothing
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The web site says they have a restaurant with a la carte menu - THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE A FUNCTIONING RESTAURANT AND THEY DO NOT EVEN HAVE A CHEF!!!! There were no staff available to meet us, we had to phone an outside number before a very old lady turned up to let us in to the rooms. Every where in the public rooms were hand written notices saying "ring the bells in the reception for service" When we did so nobody came. We had to go to a nearby pub for an evening meal because of the lack of restaurant. When we returned we rang the bells and searched as far as we were able but could not find nobody. In the morning there was only 1 knife available between ourselves and 4 other guests, who had had exactlythe same experiences as us, but again nobody answered the bells until we had finished breakfast using a shared knife! Eventually a woman, turned up so we complained to her but she denied there had been any problems and even had the audacity to suggest that we had not even rung the bells or tried to contact anybody. This is the worst place we have ever stayed in during many years of travelling around much of the world.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was lovely and the accommodation very good, I particularly loved the 4-poster bed and having some outside space to sit in.
Cons: No real complaints, the only thing to mention is that the lighting wasn't very good.
7.1 Good
Pros: The outside terrace was lovely. It was just outside the bedroom.
Cons: We were charged £150 even though we'd been quoted £136.
7.9 Good
Pros: Full breakfast was good, service was impeccable. A big house with potential but seems happy with what they have
Cons: No problems
4.0 Okay
Cons: Nobody at the hotel when we arrived, or any other time except to serve breakfast. Breakfast was all precooked; not appealing. Light in bathroom not working. Nasty smell of damp. Slat of bedbase broken.
7.1 Good
Pros: large clean room. comfortable decor and quiet. large tv with good reception. nice fresh breakfast and good choice. friendly owners
Cons: unmanned check in could have been more welcoming. decor looking a little tired, could do with a little TLC. broken toilet seat. wi fi iffy
7.1 Good
Pros: Extra bed was crammed against the wall. The property felt a bit tired.
Cons: Small things like broken shower headneed fixing
6.7 Good
Pros: I liked the “oldy woldy” feel of the place. Our room was spacious and we had more than enough space for two of us. The 4 poster bed and two single beds by the tv were comfortable. It did have a chilly feel to it but the electric heater provided enough warmth. The breakfast was ok and enough to choose from each morning. Both continental and fried breakfast available.
Cons: At first glance, the room looked clean and tidy. The bathroom was where I first noticed the dirt. The sink hadn’t been cleaned and had dust in it which I wiped out with a baby wipe. We didn’t use the corner bath but that looked grimy. We used the shower the next day and almost flooded the bathroom! The drain was blocked and water just wasn’t clearing the shower tray, other than out the other side! I pretty much stood in a puddle up to my ankles the whole time I showered. I plugged in my phone charger behind the bedside cabinet to see thick cobwebs behind the 4 poster bed. This were also evident on top of the curtains along with a lot of dust. I’d go as far as to say the room hadn’t been occupied for a while and that was the last time it was cleaned. The hall way leading to the room smelt of damp the whole time we were there and one of the days was quite hot outside. It would have been nice to see local and fresh produce being used at breakfast. The sausages reminded me of ones I had for school dinner! :-/ It has lots of potential and could be an amazing B&B but there’s a few key details that need to be addressed. When we got a taxi back from town one evening, the taxi driver was surprised we were staying there as she had heard negative things about it.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: THE BREAKFAST WAS FINE AND THE COMFORT OF THE HOTEL AND THE GROUNDS WERE LOVELY. LOVED THE ROOM.
Cons: WE DID NOT LIKE BEING KEPT OUTSIDE WAITING TO CHECK IN FOR NEARLY 2 HOURS IN THE POURING RAIN. ANOTHER COUPLE WERE ALSO TRYING TO BOOK IN. WE RUNG DOOR BELLS, THE PHONE BUT NO REPLY. EVENTUALLY ANOTHER RESIDENT COUPLE LET US IN TO THE RECEPTION AND WE STILL WAITED ANOTHER HALF HOUR BEFORE THE OWNER SHOWED US TO OUR ROOMS. WHEN IT STATES CHECK IN AT 16.00 THAT IS WHEN WE EXPECT IT TO BE. CALMED DOWN WHEN WE SAW THE LOVELY ROOM WHICH WAS TO OUR TASTE. APART FROM THAT BEAUTIFUL HOUSE AND GARDENS.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly courteous staff. Lovely grounds with ample parking. Great breakfast choice. Individual patio areas.
Cons: Room facilities in need of minor repairs. Needed cleaning in hard to reach areas.
7.1 Good
Pros: It was alright the food was good.
Cons: It was a beautiful old house but run down with a old smell about it,.
