6.0 Good
Pros: Good bar, friendly helpful staff.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room decor was lovely and the bathroom was spacious with a lovely bath and shower. Bed was comfortable which is a plus as I find it difficult to sleep in any other bed than my own so that was a bonus as I slept well.
Cons: The fridge didn't work in our room and the heating was on full blast so was very hot. Luckily there were 2 other friends of ours staying in the room opposite so we used their fridge to store our drinks/water.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: The room smelt like a blocked drain, offered a smaller room at the same price as the larger room, but was advised by the receptionist it was next to noisy people that had already been complained about, then offered a same size room but with faulty wiring the light switch was hanging off and the lights cut out after 10 seconds... After being give keys to 3 rooms and having to run up several flights of stairs to see each room which all had issues we ended up in the original room that smelt of blocked drains that the smell had been tried to be covered up with gallons of bleach. I complained to reception and was offers a £20 refund and guess what surprise surprise we didn’t ever get the refund !!

Cons: Parking was in a multistorey until I challenged that I had prebooked a space. the night staff guy was excellent. meet me at the door, jumped in my car (reason was it was a very hard location to find, remote from hotel and questionable security). Helped me with luggage and served me drink and meal and reception. He did well. Day staff not as good. Poor breakfast table. Good al a carte menu. During meal dray delivery. left doors opens to shopping street, cold air, left floor hatch open whilst blockinga ccess to door to bedroom with barrels and displaced furniture. Pros: The rooms were really comfortable and reasonably spacious. We were made to feel very welcome and this was one of the better places we have stayed in Hertford.
Cons: Didn't really cater for our early start on Monday morning and at the advertised start to breakfast (7am). The chef hadn't turned up. Parking is in the nearby multi storey.
7.0 Good
Pros: Really helpful staff, good food and menu. No parking but multistorey car park convenient to hotel. Near to cafes and restaurants on busy high street
Cons: A little under-staffed - no-one on front desk to check you in early morning or evenings meaning you had to go into the adjoining bar to find a staff member.

7.0 Good
Pros: I have stayed at this hotel on three separate occasions now, it is very central for Hertford although can be a bit tricky to find the car park as it's at the end of a one-way system but the staff are very good on the phone explaining how to get there. Pros: Central
Cons: In need of redecoration
4.2 Okay
Pros: Nothing. Though the staff (when available) were pleasant enough
Cons: The Sun is seriously overpriced, very dirty, understaffed and completely in need of a complete overhaul. I sent at least 5 messages to the hotel in the week leading up to our booking - all of which went unanswered! Avoid.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location and free breakfast
Cons: Fire escape door to external staircase was open most of the time, sending through a blast of cold air and presenting an unnecessary security risk. We waited 45 mins for hot water for breakfast tea/coffee but none arrived. Was eventually told urn not working, kettle ‘blown up’ and hob slow to heat large pan of water.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was comfortable, the location was fantastic and the breakfast was yummy! It was great value for money.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: Comfy bed
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The hotel was disgusting. The hallways smelt of cannabis, the rooms had mould and cob webs. I can't believe people pay to stay at this hotel.
1.0 Poor
Pros: The location
Cons: The fact homeless where housed in the hotel and I wasn't told before the booking as I wouldn't of paid 90 pounds to sleep in the same hotel as homeless alcoholics making noises all the time
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very close to bus stop coming from airport. So close that i actually walked past it at first and had to come back.
Cons: Doesn't have the fun factor of being a capsule hotel, but in a windowless room has some of the drawbacks.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: I asked the receptionist to give me a room far from the reception and he didn’t. I did not get one wink of sleep as staff and guests were running up and down from night going into the morning shouting and laughing up and down the corridor. The hygiene in the room was disgusting. Hairs on all the bedding, dark handprint stains on the walls and the headboard had not been cleaned in god knows how long. I had only been in the bed for a few minutes before my body started to itch. Absolutely horrible hotel and I only stayed for one night. I can’t imagine if it was a long term stay. Definitely will not be back there again.

1.0 Poor
Pros: The location is good, very near to Luton airport.
Cons: The room was not clean and the bathroom was very dirty! The staff is very rude and unprofessional. The hotel is very run down and overpriced. Not even close to a three star hotel! Poor facilities and very very dirty.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Its a budget hotel and I knew that. As budget hotels go, its pretty good. Easy in and out, functional. Its seen better days and there are issues, but its mean to moan when the price is great. Perfectly nice night's sleep. Recommended, as budget hotels go.
Cons: First time I've had an air conditioner in this hotel so that was great, but it sounded like an aircraft taking off. Very worn and tatty, room smelt of cigarettes, but comfortable enough and everything worked.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The lovely helpful barman who was the only friendly face insaw who was able to explain to the strangers that I was a keyworker and normally a regular customer
Cons: Last night I was shocked - I stay at the Chiltern regularly and have done weekly for a year because it is close to my work. I haven't stayed for a month as the prices have doubled and trebled at times so commute home normally. I am a keyworker and manage a large nursing home - I booked on booking.com for just over 45.00 for a room and had paid already. When I arrived at the property I was questioned by a new set of staff who said that as I was not a keyworker they would charge me another ten pounds for my stay on top of what I had paid. I managed to prove I was a keyworker but stated that under no circumstances would I pay more anyway - they told me that due to covid their rooms were in high demand. I sat in the hotel as I normally do watching people in the bar area huddled together drinking and quite loud and was told by a member of staff that they were homeless but that the hotel was being paid well for keeping them there during the outbreak. While I appreciate people need somewhere to stay, I did not appreciate the unfriendly welcome from the staff and the inflated prices, and their 'extra' on top of what I had paid to booking.com - shame on you Chiltern Hotel - your premises are shabby, your normal staff are wonderful - however I would not recommend this hotel to anyone ....... A normally regular, and very disgruntled customer Belinda
6.0 Good
Pros: Reasonable price and location.
Cons: Bed is old and needs a new mattress. Paint peeling. General look of a lot of wear and tear. Sinks have no plugs (annoying) and often seem to block up. (Has happened on three visits.) Nothing terrible, just needs some TLC.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice hotel
Cons: I didn’t like that when I checked in I had to pay more money to match their on computer price ...never heard of that before ..if you book on line then that’s it ..not pay more when u arrive ...can you let me know if this is legal
5.3 Okay
Pros: Convenient location.
Cons: The heating was not working and the room/bathroom was tired and shabby.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The staff where helpfull first providing a very small electric heater and then moving me to another room upon request.
Cons: The first room had no heating, and on one of the coldest days of the year. The second room was warm but full of old broken furniture. With a bed the size of a large single definately not a double.
7.7 Good
Pros: The service in the restuarant
7.3 Good

Cons:
5.6 Okay
Pros: it gave me everything that I really needed and there were no snags or problems
Cons: Not a big deal, but the bath was very short - too short for my long legs. At breakfast the coffee was quite terrible - why not real coffee?
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very close to the motorway and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: No, the hotel was very good.
6.5 Good
Pros: The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Inexpensive.
Cons: The room lighting could be better. The corridors were strewn with empty food trrays

Cons: Nada.
6.0 Good
Pros: Central location. Easy reach for city center and airport. On a bus route from the Luton airport
Cons: The room was very small for a three person room. I would say it was only really a larger single room or a small double. Three .. was a very snug fit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was only an 18 minute walk to the airport, however, a local bus pulled up at the bus stop outside the hotel just as I was leaving, so I hopped on paid less than £2 to be dropped at the door of the airport. Most importantly the place was quiet and I got a good night's sleep unlike when I stayed at a cheap hotel in the city centre.
Cons: No food options in the evening except for a vending machines, but for this price, I wasn't expecting any.

Pros: Everything. Just that we managed things like toilet roll etc. No kettle in room but I know it is because it is budget hotel. Nice stay

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Not a lot, lacked in almost every area
8.0 Excellent
Pros: location staff facilities support from staff
Cons: toilet sink was blocked
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close walk to the airport. Breakfast in the morning was good.
Cons: We did not know that you had to put keycard into the wall to power up the room. We were tired and laughed it off though.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is very good, the closest hotel to the airport. The rooms are relatively small but comfortable. Very good sound insulation.
Cons: Breakfast is good but relatively poor. Very often there is a lack of food and one has to wait for someone to bring. The continental breakfast, which starts very early in the morning is terrible, there is almost nothing! The staff is relatively polite but few in number. The man at the reception is also a bartender, which is unacceptable. We had booked a room with two single beds, and they gave us one big, we had to ask for a change of reception.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, staff and cleanliness!
Cons: No
6.5 Good
Pros: Advantages: +very good location +nice facilities +relatively spacious room
Cons: Disadvantages: -staff misinformed us about time needed to get to the airport and we were rushing out at 04:00 in the morning without having possibility of taking breakfast which we have paid for. Too much focus is paid to shuttle bus connection when in fact it takes 5 minutes to go to the airport. We were 2.5 hours before our flight when we could have had breakfast in easy and relaxed way. Bad information from reception staff!

1.0 Poor
Pros: The rooms was nice and clean. Bathroom also lovely
Cons: The staff was rude... I also had something taken out of my room while I was at work staff didn't care at all and tried to accuse my room mate of this even tho was at work with me.. just very very rude and disrespectful
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Big room with wide windows and a lot of light, helpful service
Cons: Was slightly disturbing waking up in a cold room, as the central heating is working only when one specifically asks for it and the windows are very old. However, when I asked the reception to open some heating in the morning, they did it and everything was OK, just that asking to put heating every day is not so pleasant. To compensate that, there is a personal heater to warm up the room rapidly, but leaving it open during night is not the safest solution.

Pros: Bed was really comfy
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like

Pros: Hot drinks
Cons: The fact that the bedding only gets changed over when you checkout even if your staying there more than another night. Breakfast and Dinner meals are over priced.. The location isn't the best. The heating system is terrible
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, clean, comfortable, quiet room, generous breakfast
Cons: bit of a hike to the airport
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Property right by the airport, parking was £12 for the night. Could not hear the aeroplanes from the room. Limited food choice, had better, had worse. Room was clean and comfy. No complaints on that front. Easy check in, easy check out.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Shower stalls with partial shower glass

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room and bathroom were spacious and very clean. We had a lovely meal for dinner in the restaurant and the waiter was exceptional. It was only a 10 minute walk to the airport in the morning which was great. The bed was very comfy, we all slept really well (baby included)!
Cons: We were given a disability room as opposed to the family room I had booked.

Pros: Bery fast check in /checknout, very friendly, nice rooms but not big
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food in the restaurant was very nice. Italian chef. Felf like we were eating in Italy the pizza was that good
8.0 Excellent
Pros: All of the staff were clearly ready to provide service, the duty manager, in particular, went out of his way to ensure that I had all that I needed. I arrived too late for the restaurant (albeit see below) and the bar staff nevertheless provided me with a very nice sandwich and glass of wine. My bags were kept whilst I had appointments the next day and my day also kept in the secure car park a short distance away (which the duty manager guided me to on foot, the night before) until I needed it.
Cons: Had I known the restaurant (Pizzeria) would close somewhat before the actual designated closing time (because it is a wood fired oven) I would have finished my call sooner and got downstairs. That could have been publicised a little better but that is me being pedantic.
7.0 Good
Pros: Parking facilities. Reception and bar attendants. Clean and comfortable room. Room service.
Cons: Unable to taste the famous Icon pizza, perhaps because of time. The room telephone was inoperative but the reception staff apologiesed and promised to log it in for repairs.

Pros: - Pet friendly - Beautiful building with beautiful rooms and beautiful gardens
Cons: - The kitchen is just regular - We had to queue for the breakfast because the room is too small - We had to reserve even for the 5 o clock tea hours in advance
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The minute you drive in it’s exceptional , the drive to the mansion . Well the mansion is lovely , start are so friendly , welcoming . Stayed here quite a few times and it feels like home meeting the staff like friends . It’s a totally lovely experience, a must visit
7.0 Good
Pros: This is our fourth time staying at Luton Hoo. The room was upgraded to an Executive room when we arrived and was wonderful - very spacious, clean and comfortable with everything you can think of including slippers and robes. the evening meal in the brasserie was very good with attentive staff and good food. the front of house staff and doorman and concierge did a fantastic job as usual, with a warm welcome and helpful approach. Sunday roast dinner was very good. The taxi offering around the estate is always a lovely touch and we always look forward to sharing that quirky experience with friends and family we they join us.
Cons: We had lunch at the 19th hole. it would appear the menu has been limited even more than last year so not a lot of choice. It wasn't busy and the service was slow, with 10 minutes waiting for a coffee with only two other people being served in between. A glass was smashed (by staff) and swept with his foot to one side - it was still there when we left 25 minutes later. breakfast in the brasserie was the worst i have known in the three times we have been there. we arrived half way through service times to find no bacon, sausages, or beans. They were topped up over a 20 minute period meaning you could not have a full plate breakfast. The fruit and pastries took a while to be replenished also. it was not made clear that you have to order black pudding and hash browns with the waitress. we were only asked if we would like different style eggs. ALL food was lukewarm as was the pot of tea for two. We eventually were able to order coffee but this took time but was at least hot. Our family came to join us for lunch in the Brasserie we were celebrating my birthday. The service was average and i was shocked to find only one vegan option - although a vegetarian curry (not on the menu) was offered. i am very surprised in this age that there was not, on any menu over the weekend, choices for those following a vegan diet. i thought this was very poor considering this ever growing choice of eating. The experience this time was really not up to their usual high standards, hence i have marked them down.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely beautiful setting which was perfect for us and our dog. Very polite and professional service where ever we went. Beautiful clean and inviting hotel.
Cons: Nothing.
6.0 Good
Pros: Absolutely beautiful building- huge and stunning! Lovely grounds and plenty of walking. Borrowed some bikes for a cycle around. Lovely breakfast and dinner. Can’t fault either of them. All staff very, very pleasant. Molten Brown toiletries in room were good. Good coffee machine in room and able to order milk from room service for cuppa! Lovely bedroom with views of garden and huge bathroom.
Cons: Had to change room as not what I had booked- booked room with double bed and sofa bed but didn’t get this. They said I should have requested it although booking said room with sofa bed! Very nice room but from pictures but didn’t look anything like the pictures of what I thought I had booked on website. Very expensive for what it was. Swimming pool disappointing. Mosaic tiles in warm tub had come off in places. Quite small and tiny changing rooms too. Didn’t book the Spa so cannot comment about that. Some areas looked a bit “tired”. Fridge didn't work in room and smelt a bit musty
5.0 Okay
Pros: setting was nice and the dinner was nice but breakfast was very poorly cooked
Cons: felt like an 80s large bnb

7.0 Good
Pros: I have stayed at this hotel on three separate occasions now, it is very central for Hertford although can be a bit tricky to find the car park as it's at the end of a one-way system but the staff are very good on the phone explaining how to get there. The hotel is old school but very comfortable.

Pros: I know this hotel from long time, location ok, room ok. because this Covid 19 problem, no food was served, I arrange my self shopping for food. no problem at all.
Cons: all ok for me
6.0 Good
Pros: Good bar, friendly helpful staff.
Cons: Room was too hot. No climate control in room when it said on website there was. Friends I was traveling with all had climate control in room. Pillows were flimsy and bed wasn't comfortable.

Pros: Breakfast good room tired location ideal
5.0 Okay
Cons: Bathroom was a bit unclean with there being hair in the shower and the glasses were dirty.
