Pros: Price in comparison to other rental places. Available rental at short notice. Model of car given, Jeep Wrangler, a fun vehicle.

Really Smooth Experience!
Pros: We had a great experience with the rental car through our weekend.
Pros: It was roomy and had XM Radio included. The seats initially seemed uncomfortable but I put 800 miles on it and no back pain. Gas milage was about 23 highway. Way worse in the city.
Cons: I would have preferred a Chrysler Pacifica but I guess those are considered premium. The windscreen cracked...IDK what that's going to cost :(
What is with Nissan vehicles?
Pros: Typical easy Hertz experience.
Cons: I've rented three Nissans in the past few months, 2x from Hertz and once from Dollar. What is with the transport shipping tape adhesive goo left on the doors??? All three cars! It certainly doesn't affect usage of the vehicle, but it looks bad. Somebody, take some WD40 out there, soak the adhesive, and clean it off!
Good deal, easy process
Pros: Small airport, easy pick up and drop off right on the premises. Friendly staff.
Cons: A little slow as car was not quite ready. Their vacuum had broke
Cons: They gave away my car because I was 4 hours late to the pick up. I was commuting from another city with family, the reservation was fully prepaid, and I wasn't told I had to pick up the car within their 2 hour pick up window nor was that listed in my confirmation email. They eventually put me in a lower class car but overall not the best experience.
Pros: I rent cars often, and it's mostly fine.
Cons: I rented a car online and on the day to pick it up, but i ended up getting into the airport a couple of hours after I had put my rental down to start. By the time I got to the counter, I was 2.5 hours past my start time. The guy that worked there just looked at me and said, "Oh I'm sorry, but we rented your car since we thought you were a no-show. There are actually no other cars left here at the airport to rent." (It was a smaller airport.) Sure enough, nothing was left. Fine, understandable, but they still charged me for the entire week, saying "Oh, well this was a guaranteed rental." To which I said, "Well then if it was guaranteed, it should have sat in that parking lot for a week whether or not I came to pick it up." So I got picked up, drove to the other side of town to the other hertz rental place which thankfully still had cars, and finally got one. The girl at the counter had to talk to a few people to allow me to switch my ("guaranteed") rental to that location, and then they ended up charging me a (small, but still) fee for changing the location. At that point, I was already half an hour late for where I was supposed to be and didn't have the time to fight it since I just needed to get on the road. It all worked out, though a bit frustratingly, and it just caused a lot of trouble with schedule. In the end, I'm just frustrated that I got charged to move the rental. Not sure I'll be renting hertz in the future if I can avoid it.
Hertz resold our PAID reservation!
Cons: We encountered difficult to avoid circumstances, and were 2+ hours delayed in picking up our 9am PAID reserved car from the airport in Savoy/Champaign, IL. When we arrived, we were told that all their cars were rented, including the car we'd already paid for. The Hertz employee was incredibly unpleasant, and went so far as to ask, "If you made an appointment with a doctor, would you show up 3 hours late?" (We weren't 3 hours late.) Such a ridiculous comparison. If I were late for a pre-paid hotel reservation, I would NOT expect that the room would be resold. The woman working the CMI Hertz counter on the morning of Friday, June 23 LOST ANY FUTURE BUSINESS I MAY'VE EVER DONE WITH HERTZ.
Good and bad
Pros: Overall feel of the Elantra was good. Comfortable seats. Liked the "blind spot" portion on the side-view mirror. The instrument panel was easy to read.
Cons: Outside of the car was dirty when I picked it up. Inside smelled like smoke. Not much get-up-and-go when trying to pass semi trucks. And, when I tried to fill the gas tank upon return, the tank wouldn't take gas. It was like the tank thought it was full and the pump would shut off. I gave up trying. The gal at the Hertz counter was very nice and did not charge me to have Hertz fill the tank. Also, I picked up and dropped off at an airport (Willard CMI) and had to pay for parking in the airport lot. It would be nice if Hertz (and others) would have spaces for those who opt to leave a car.
