Pros: The owners, Peter and Sandra are the friendliest guest house owners I have come across to date. Somersby is truly a home away from home and they really went out of their way to make sure that we were well looked after.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners and their staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was lovely each morning and the fact we could walk to the beach in approximately 10 minutes was a bonus.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Guesthouse was lovely, the room was very appealing, TV and fridge were in the room. Fresh water was provided daily. The balcony has a very nice view over Hout Bay and the mountains. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious: fresh fruit salad, eggs, ham, cheese - everything available. The hosts, Susan and Peter were very helpful and friendly, the cats were cute. We enjoyed the days at Somersby very much!
Cons: Nothing !!

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very warm, personal, professional amd smooth welcome. Very helpful from the moment we entered the great location. Breakfast is amazing. Dirk gave us fantastic tipps for restaurants and places to go.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: From the architecture (gorgeous) to the zealous service (heartwarming), my stay in Cube Guest House was simply splendid. The pre check-in communications by email was clear and prompt. The breakfast and facilities were just as fantastic as described by many of the reviewers before me. Even though I did not meet the hosts Dirk and Patrick properly because they were travelling, I was impressed to receive a handwritten welcome card when I arrived. Mischeck the housekeeper is really helpful with all my requests, and would provide weather forecasts every morning, in a rather creative way. The corner suite I stayed in had a majestic view of the mountain and the sea. There are convenience shops, a supermarket, and the amazing Hout Bay Coffee (with up to 9 different beans to choose from) at Mainstream Centre located less than 7 mins away by car. A delightful detail - the Guest House provided Charlotte Rhys toiletries and room spray which, as a visitor to Cape Town, I was so fond of that I purchased quite a few items to bring home for myself and my friends!
Cons: Nothing, really.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owners were away and they left behind Mishek to look after us, he was very accommodating, very helpful and always went over and above to meet our needs. The location can be remote but it's a good start to the holiday if you have been super busy in the lead up to the holiday and just want some relaxation before hitting Cape Town to start doing all the busy touristy things which can be full on and tiring!
Cons: Location wise, there were not many restaurants nearby which you could walk to and try and get food.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very nice to us. He helped us with all Restaurant reservations, way descriptions, etc. We can warmest recommend the Cube Guest House.
Cons: Price is a bit high...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners know how to welcome their guests and make them feel home and comfortable. Very nice feeling

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The 'Tree Cottage' that we stayed in was very peaceful and quiet with super views. It also had a really good bed...very important! We also really liked the way Pierre talked to us and gave us tips and advice.
7.5 Good
Pros: The dogs scarf - the Hidden area behind the rock - the calm and the breakfast
Cons: No comment
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great rustic setting. Quiet. Unobtrusive owners. Easy access to Hout Bay.
Cons: More water...but not owners fault !
6.3 Good
Pros: See above
Cons: No complimentary water in room. Low quality toiletries provided e.g.. shower gel, soap etc. Fixtures and room decor very dated. These elements could be more accurately described in the details which would help prevent disappointment. In particular the description of a private patio area which was actually 2 seats next to the drive over looking the car park. As for private, with cars and people going by made us feel very on view. The suite being called the Greenhouse Suite conjours up glass and light where in fact the room was very dark and gloomy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quality of surroundings, tastefully furnished housing with max privacy, perfect hospitality
Cons: Very seldom but everything was beyond expectations
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and comfortable. A lovely setting.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: No TV in room and Liverpool playing in Europe
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice breakfast, nice view
Cons: The bed was small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful hosts.

Pros: Attention to detail excellent
Cons: We should have stayed longer , will next time
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good plentiful breakfast. Nice room with a very comfortable bed. Excellent and helpful owner and staff. Good wi-fi.
Cons: Steps and slopes could be awkward for the less mobile.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: perfect view; beautiful garden with silent places to stay, the best breakfast we have had in South Africa within 2 weeks; nice and very sympathic details...nice and friendly people who took care about you... it was totally lovely...
Cons: nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: The greeting was very good and as our first room didn't meet our expectations another room was found for us . But they could only accommodate us for 2 nights out of the 3 for this room. The breakfast was good and staff attentive.
Cons: We didn't like our room and the bed was too hard for our comfort. The property is situated on the side of a mountain so parking within the property is difficult so left car on the road. Also there are far too many steps to negotiate which is fine if you are very young and fit but anyone who is elderly or has mobility problems would struggle.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, excellent breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness and service is unbeatable. It's our second time and it is still my favourite place to stay. ( Even little chocolates in the evening). The view is fantastic and very peaceful. The name " Dreamhouse" fits.
Cons: It is the perfect place to stay on a holiday. Everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Dreamhouse Guesthouse is really a dream. The location with the most beautiful view is great, the room ( White Suite) was simply fantastic, a real luxury experience. We enjoyed every day a very special breakfast with fresh fruits, yoghurt, eggs and very good coffee on the terrace with a view! Thanks for this special days to Ivanka and her team!
8.8 Excellent
Cons: There are a lots of steps, more you see on the website For me big problem, the owner did all he could to help us
7.5 Good
Pros: The guest house was beautiful with amazing gardens, terrace's and views. However choosing a room with a "view" and/or balcony on booking.com was difficult to do, hence we ended up booking 2 "basement" type rooms, with no view at all
Cons: Hout Bay as a resort is a little more "run down" than we remembered, and doesn't catch the evening sun.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The breakfast.
Cons: The bed was hard, the pillows were hard, the towels were thin, hard, worn out & crunchy. The room had a bad smell & they cleaned it but the smell was still there albeit less smelly. Offer made to change rooms but for an extra cost. A long way from any shops or facilities. This should be mentioned in the advert. Traveling alone I stayed in my room after 5pm. Definitely would not have considered staying had I known its remoteness. The driveway is terrible, too narrow, too steep almost burned out my clutch trying to manoeuvre, only used the parking inside once & ended up parking on the street which was not safe. There were four cars parked under cover but these were owners vehicles. No parking for guests on site. The owner was rude when I said I didn't want to stay the whole booking because of the smell in the room, hardness of the bed & pillows & the towels. I asked for a refund for thr one night I didn't want to stay, she refused & slammed the phone down.

Pros: Cecilia and Maggie are the most incredible hosts, kind, friendly and welcoming.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic staff, breakfast, location, swimming pool..... just great!
Cons: There was noting not to like!
6.7 Good
Pros: Cecilia and Matty
Cons: The wasp nest by the door of the loft and the cleanliness of the pool wasnt up to our expectations. The location wasnt good for us - this has nothing to do with the property management. We didnt like having to take the car everytime we wanted to go out for a drink or needed to buy something. We felt sorry for the lonely emu in the garden.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: the breakfasts were fab the area was very interesting, the owner popped in every morning to see all was ok the saff were brillient, it was so relaxing nothing was a problem, would highly recomend...
Cons: no fault of the coplex the electric shed loading,
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were staying in the loft: Very nice and quiet appartement, private terrace with amazing roundview on the mountains Private breakfast served on the terrace Outstanding garden of the lodge, great flowers and old trees Interior not super-luxurious, but very nice and functional and in good condition Nice and large bathroom Host Maggie is very friendly and helpful, and also the staff are taking great care Hout Bay with beach close by

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Surprised when I was expecting a continental breakfast to have a magnificent choice of continental and english breakfast. Carol Anne was an amazing host who was extremely attentive and friendly. She went out of her way to make my stay as short as it was an absolute pleasure. I was enthralled by all the high tech, and took great delight in commanding my way around the room with voice commands for lights, blinds TV coffee etc. Even if you not tech Savvy, the manual alternative was always close at hand.
Cons: The short amount of time I had to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property has everything you need to be comfortable . The decor creates a very relaxing environment . The BEST feature would be Carole Ann, the manager, who’s hospitality makes you feel like you’re visiting family! Can’t wait to back.
Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is one of the Best accommodation I have stayed at, apart from the establishment being upgraded to a point where everything is voice control, you have a house keeper Carol Anne that is litteraly the best. Carol Anne made me feel right at home the minute I walked in. We also had long discussions at the breakfast table, up to the point where she actually said goodbye when we left. I will definitely be coming back, I love the warmth feeling the minute you walk in. You will definitely see me again 10 out of 10

10.0 Excellent
Pros: My family experienced the ultimate guest care in this luxury boutique hotel. Ute, Andreas and Jacob ensure that real attention is paid to guests. Great accommodation, privacy, comfort and quality service checked all our boxes  and made for a wonderful stay. The delicious breakfast and Jacob's magical cappaccinos on a private deck were perfect for watching the most beautiful sunrises against the mountainous backdrop. We particularly appreciated the personal tours which Andreas graciously took us on. Surfing in Kommetjie, sightseeing and Mamma's delicious Spanky Bollocks were the highlights of our trip. Their warmth really made a difference to the overall experience when compared to other establishments where we have stayed. They made us feel as if we were in our own home, most comfortable and sooo relaxed. The team could not have done anything more for us and made us feel super special. We will be back to visit at our new Favourite Favourite. This really is an exquisite little hotel with a fantastic team, all in a very special location.  The countdown has begun... All our love Ruth, Gaige and Reef The Hunt Clan
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I booked the whole property with 10 friends for my birthday trip to Cape Town. The owners, the hotel staff (Jacob), were all incredible hosts. The breakfast was excellent, the facilities - room, pool, views, hotel location were 5-stars. I will highly recommend this place and will most definitely stay there in again on my next trip to CPT.

Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's a wonderful place to stay we had a great time lovely staff and owner cosy bedrooms great views and a very friendly dog we had a great time
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I expected water problems, as my booking confirmation stated “this region is currently experiencing drought conditions. Please be aware that certain properties are subject to comply with local water usage restrictions.” but this was not the case. It seems Cape Town no longer has a water problem. Furthermore, this property has their own rain water storage of 25,000 liters. Cool I really enjoyed the architecture, views and the friendly staff. The driveway was mentioned in other reviews. It is steep, but not anything as bad as I have read. Lots of exaggeration... If you love the ocean, Victoria Road and Chapman's Peak Drive are stunning. Bring a bottle of wine!
Cons: The ocean is colder than I expected
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location with stunning views
Cons: No air conditioner in the room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Central location. Lovely architecture. Friendly staff. Excellent WiFi - best bandwidth I have had in Africa. Great for conference call and VoIP.

4.2 Okay
Pros: The views are special.
Cons: Lack of daily service... broken doors, holes in the duvet and a terrible smell the entire time we were there. Toilet was so close to the basin I couldn't sit properly. Shower door was not working properly. Really not impressed including that I was told to pay cash for the last night because they had to buy food for the dogs and electricity for the next guests... not sure the owners know what's going on at this place.
