Located in Hoerstel, Landgasthaus-Hotel Wenninghoff is within a 15-minute drive of Doerenther Cliffs and Emsflower Emsbueren. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Spacious room Close to the A30
Pros: Good parking place. We have room for three person and it was good size. Shop right next door.
Pros: Perfect location. Breakfast was always ready with a fresh pot of coffee waiting for us at our table. Hotel owner greeted us each morning at breakfast to make sure we were having a nice visit and to offer sight seeing ideas. We had a great dinner at the Hotel Restaurant. Also, helped us learn a few more German words!
Pros: Very sweet and friendly staff. Nice and quiet place for a good night sleep.
Cons: I received an e-mail the Friday before my stay to mention that the hotel had his closing day that day. As I booked a room for the next Tuesday there seemed no problem for me. At arrival on Tuesday, the hotel was closed (and the reception and restaurant as well). The keys were to be found in the wintergarden. The hotel was noisy and has very thin walls. You could hear your neighbour talking, showering and even going to the toilet... The room was very small (prison cell size). The next morning I told the employee that I did not had a good say and the only thing she had to say was 'I am sorry'. Never again.
Set in a former railway station from the 19th century, this charming hotel in the small town of Hörstel offers cosy accommodation on the northwestern outskirts of the Teutoburger Wald forest. The Hotel Xtra Gleis boasts a unique location in a converted station. Look forward to bright, modern rooms, free high-speed internet access throughout the hotel, and free parking. From here, you can comfortably reach attractions including the historic Hermannsweg hiking route or the Surenburg castle in Riesenbeck. No stay would be complete without a refreshing drink in the beer garden and a fine glass of wine in the historic vaulted cellar.
Pros: Convenient location. Restaurant/bar in situ.
Cons: It did not bother me but it should be made clear when booking that the hotel is next to the train line; trains run all night long.
Pros: Breakfast was very good. The restaurant in the evening was excellent. Great Beef!
Pros: My wife and I love trains and in room 3 you could barely know they passed by within 25 feet of the room. Excellent accommodations.
Cons: There is no elevator and there are about 29 stairs to climb if you have any difficulty with stairs.
Pros: The food was great. Proximity to the motorway was convenient.
Cons: A bit noisy at night because the hotel is close to the train track. On the plus side, only about 5 trains passed the hotel at night.
Pros: Good restaurant with wide chose of food and drink. Very spacious room, good shower and comfortable bed.
Pros: Cozy hotel in old railroad building
Pros: the food
Pros: Absolutely wonderful! We had a delicious breakfast- particularly loved the coffee service and the scrambled eggs that were done with bacon and spring onion (several varieties to choose from). The hotel has a lovely train line going through it which our child loved. From the hotel window we could see the local train line and really enjoyed watching the huge trains pass by. The room was clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful and offered to help us take photos of our family together. I accidentally broke a glass and they were very kind about it as well as our son spilling milk on the breakfast table- little moments of understanding from the staff really make it a memorable stay.
Cons: If you dont like trains you might find the trains passing by a little bothersome but they dont run all night.
Pros: Everything was very good, room - superb, food in the restaurant - superb. building - historical, view - nice.
Cons: Nothing to say, except maybe fast train in the night time, but I know, the hotel is in the old train station. (very nice station).

Pros: A little out of the way yet quite....A traditional German rural hotel / bar / restaurant that time seems to have forgotten. Great for the over night traveler being very near and convenient to autobahn. The menu is very limited due to lack of passing custom so more of a convenience out of the fridge freezer. Charming staff ....yet the beer offered second to none !!!! Secure parking
Cons: On arrival all doors locked and took some time to muster service
Pros: Big room and good size bathroom. The light in the bathroom was a little dim. I thought the mattress was fine, my husband, who is a lot heavier, found his hard. Good choice of breads and rolls for breakfast as well as cheeses and cut meats, jams, honey and chocolate spread. Orange juice and boiled eggs were available. We had dinner here as well and the Schnitzel were very good. The staff were very friendly and attentive and it’s also a great place to stay with children.
Cons: They don’t take credit cards, only EC cards and cash.
Pros: Friendly staff. Room was large and so was the bathroom. Not much of a view but we could view our car and trailer. Breakfast was good.
Cons: Location was lovely, but the noise from the motorway which was near by wasn't good if you opened your windows.

Cons: - staff does not speak English - restaurant on the side closed - for 121 Euro no free bottled water in the room - no tea making facility - cold room - very poor breakfast with even poorer service - being rushed out of the room twice before check out time - being asked to pay additional money that no one knew what they were actually wanting to charge for - very poor experience
Pros: Clean and good location
Cons: Small parking
Pros: Bed was comfy and double room and bathroom was large. Hotel has lots of parking outside the property though.

Pros: For our children was perfect place to be. A lot of space to play outside!

Pros: The hotel has a quiet location. The rooms are very spacious, also the bathroom, and very clean. Beds are comfy. A bottle of water is provided. The food in the restaurant and the breakfast are okay. Nothing too special but for one night/morning it was totally fine. Staff was very friendly.

Pros: Nice location, calm, close to Autobahn. Lovely wiews. Nice breakfast.

Münster and Osnabrück can both be reached in 25 minutes.
Pros: Friendly staff. Breakfast was ok. Nice old building in quiet location.
Cons: A bit overpriced compared to other hotels we stayed in in Germany.
Pros: Lovelly hotel
Pros: Amazing place. Cozy and comfortable room, great breakfast and very friendly staff. Quiet at night. Beautiful surroundings.
Pros: Historical building in the small city center. Very close to the highway. Basic, clean rooms. With a little bit of renovation it would be great place.
Cons: Breakfast too basic.
Pros: The breakfast was amazing. Great selection of breads, crispy buns and eggs done to order.
Pros: Location Close to the airport nice local village
Cons: No staff whatsoever it is Liierally Only a bed for the night. Not much to do in the village. You have to book in between four and six if you want to see any staff
Pros: Staff were nice. Breakfast was good. The area was convenient. Cleaning in the room was good.bed was comfortable.
Cons: The decoration was tired sleeping with a picture on the wall of a devil having sex with a woman and other unusual pictures is not a place for the bedroom with the potential of a child staying in the room. Neglected broken wall lights bath plugs missing. Rooms not checked prior to guest stay. Lights in the hallway flashing broken. Entering the room there was a smell of must and old given that the building was from 1700. The price i thought was very expensive, after showing my german friends pictures of the hotel and our rooms they agreed the price was stupid money. Area was nice and quiet, although all places away from cities are quite. Sitting with a dead stuffed fox and lots of animal skulls on the wall is not a great place to have breakfast. It reminded me of a horror film set. There was wifi but you had to keep getting a ticket from the main hall and entering a user and code. The ticket may last 124 hours or 1 hour it was like doing the lottery. There was NO coffee making in the room and the facilities said vendor machine option we never saw. No room safe. All this and more for the price was not good and we stayed in a hotel in munich the day before for 6 nights with everything for the same price.
Pros: very nice and flexible hosts, no problem with very late check-in, personalised message left forme with directions how to reach my room :)
Cons: Object need some renovation, carpet in hallway and carpet on stairs as well as hallway walls and doorss are in many places destroyed or dirty it make unpleasant first impression
Located in Tecklenburg, Landhaus Sundern is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Motorcycle Museum and City Museum. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The warmth and welcoming staff were fantastic especially Nina who even offered and drove us to the other hotel in town for a Wedding Party.
Pros: Lovely balcony overlooking the swimming pool. Lovely quiet location. Friendly, helpful owner. Dog friendly with lots of woodland close to property.
Pros: Bed comfortable, everything worked well, breakfast very good and excellent value for money. Something of a walk into the town centre but very pleasant once there.
Cons: All good.
Set in a historic half-timbered building, this country-style hotel is located 250 metres from Tecklenburg’s spa park. Hotel Drei Kronen features a large terrace with panoramic countryside views. The bright rooms at Hotel Drei Kronen include a satellite TV and private bathroom. Each one is decorated in warm colours and some offer antique furnishings. Regional dishes can be enjoyed in the restaurant, and a hearty breakfast can be served for an extra fee. Tecklenburg Music Theatre is 200 metres from Hotel Drei Kronen and a golf course is located 2.2 km away. It is a 3-minute drive to the A1 motorway and free parking is provided on site.
Pros: Breakfast was OK.
Cons: The room had no curtain (see my work-around) and no window. The choice was therefore no air or no security (see my work-around). It was a garden room with a poor decking outside and a view of the car-park. I had to go down into the bowls of the hotel to get there. There was no hot water until the tap had been run for nearly 5 minutes and the plug did not work. There was only one bar staff working and she knew little about the hotel.
Pros: The location is great and the hotel some authentic spirit. Dining room has old huge fireplace, a terrace and huge events hall. There is a bar and a wine cellar I think. I stopped for the night when walking (one day, two stages) Hermannsweg trail from Rheine, was a nice retreat after long day. Would choose same hotel again next time.
Cons: The bells from the church are ringing every 15,60 and 60 minutes, you can not do much about that :)
Pros: Friendly service of the Manager.
Cons: A bit past its glory... Very soft mattress. Small room.
Pros: Very nice location and beautiful views. Lovely terrace.
Cons: Busy staff. Bad smell. Poor breakfast. Not so clean rooms.
Pros: I liked the hotel a lot. Nice room, lovely breakfast /dining room. So glad we could bring our dog. Very charming hotel. Tough smoking and kitchen (oil) smell I really would like to recommend this hotel very highly. It's not fashion, it's not luxury but just very very charming.
Pros: The location is very great. The staffs are friendly to us even make some goodbye coffee for us in the very early morning when we leave.
Cons: Like all of the old town in Europe, there are no elevator in hotel.
